Watching Trump absolutely own the journalist last night on CNN was something else. It’s clear that nasty interviewer was trying to get him all night but at every turn Trump made her look like an idiot. Reminded me of Musk’s recent smack down of BBC. Could you imagine if Joe Biden was given the same treatment? He wouldn’t be able to get a word out. Anyone watching what Trump did last night would have to be a brainwashed moron to vote against him in the next election. I feel like the liberal nightmare destroying America is nearly over.

I thought that's gonna be the last game for the Warriors until Curry closes in the 2nd quarter with a buzzer beater for the 11 point lead.

Dub nation is still alive but then the game 6 will be played on Crypto.com arena. While on this game 5, we saw how helpful the crowd cheering for the Warriors.

We will then see the opposite of it but then that's not gonna guarantee the end of this series.

The Warriors win most of the time at home, so it's not surprising that they won at home. Additionally, the departure of Davis helps the Warriors maintain their momentum, as the Lakers are only playing small ball later in the 4th quarter.

Regarding the update on Davis, he seems to be okay.

Good news for Lakers fans: the injury of Davis is not serious, so he can play in game 6, giving them a chance to close the series. However, if the Lakers lose, I'm unsure if they can still win on the road, considering the last two dominant victories by the Warriors on their home court. Curry has been consistently performing, and Green's new approach of attacking the paint has made the Warriors more unpredictable.

Such a bizarre injury. Looking at the replays it seems so innocent. It doesn’t look like Looney’s wrist hit him hard enough to do anything. I wonder how much of that was mental or if Anthony Davis was really knocked senseless enough to need a wheelchair. He must have gotten hit in the perfect spot or something. Not good that AD is starting to have injury issues.

Right now, the Heat are on the road of doing a bit of a history.

They're one win away from reaching the Conference Finals. There is only one team who won the Conference Finals as the 8th seed, and that's the Knicks way back 98-99 season. Though they lost in the NBA Finals, they still made history. With how the Heat are playing right now, they're on the road to become the 2nd team to do it. I just don't know if they have the capabilities to win against the winner of the Sixers/Celtics match-up. Overall, the Heat are playing very impressive in this playoffs, defeating the top favorite to win the title which is the Bucks, and now one win away from clinching to the Conference Finals.

The Knicks have been controlling the game due to their big third-quarter run, but we know what the Heat can do. Hopefully, the Knicks won't panic in the fourth quarter as the Heat are slowly inching closer. From a double-digit lead by the Knicks, it's already down to 7 points, and in this situation, the Heat are already used to it since they had a big comeback win against the Bucks in their last game of the series.

85-92 is the score now.

I was surprised to see the Knicks win but I don’t think it will matter much. Now time for the main course. The Lakers have a chance to not only put the Warriors away for the season, but it’s possible tonight might be the night that LeBron James ends the Warriors’ dynasty. I think at best they have one more year together.
3284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 10, 2023, 09:35:31 PM
We may get 2 conference finalists tonight as a couple of 3 win teams are playing tonight. The Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat both have the chance to advance tonight and neither are must win games for them. The Knicks and Warriors both have their backs against the wall as their next loss will be their last game of the season. I’ll be watching TNT tonight!

This will be an interesting night for the most of us and I know that there are a lot of people who are rooting for the favorites to win their respective games especially the Warriors later, and I know as well that these team's chances are somewhat good enough to force another game but I don't think that both Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers will just easily agree because if they can finish the whole series, they will.

I don’t think whoever wins between the Knicks and Heat really matters. Boston and Philly would both destroy either the Knicks or Heat (in my opinion). Selfishly, I just want to see LeBron play against Durant but if I’m being honest I don’t think the Suns are going to beat the Nuggets. Denver is one all star shooting guard away from having the best team in the league.
3285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the effects of lowering the average Bitcoin block confirmation time? on: May 10, 2023, 09:10:49 PM
This is basically the same thing as doubling the block size as far as the problems it brings. Only difference is that it would also have the effect of cutting the block halving frequency in half as well. That would have inflation consequences.

Bottom line is that cutting block confirmation times in half would cause the blockchain to get larger faster, which developers say will lead to centralization and would eliminate the need for a patented second layer lightning network which goes against the patent holder’s interests, who also happens to pay the developers.
3286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: May 10, 2023, 07:09:33 PM
That “press conference” was embarrassing. Even Nate was dissing it and left to use the bathroom during it. Probably to get high and make sitting there bearable. I think that people are getting tired of Jake Paul. I think he was exposed during his last fight and his Cinderella story has ended. He might beat Nate only because Nate probably won’t take it seriously. I’m not sure I care anymore.
3287  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How to remove scratches from acrylic coin slabs? on: May 10, 2023, 06:36:12 PM
If you are willing to send the coins back to ICG they will replace the slab for a small fee.

I think it is $10 for a reslab

I’m just a spectator with the whole grading thing, but for probably cheaper than the sandpaper to start fixing it, if you can get it re-slabbed, that seems like the way to go. I know I was waiting for the outcome of this and expected to see a destroyed slab at the end to be honest. I’m glad the replacement solution is so much simpler.
3288  Economy / Collectibles / Re: What should I ask Chat GPT about Crypto Collectibles? on: May 10, 2023, 06:32:34 PM
Great thread and thanks for creating it tread

Why not ask Chat GPT what is likely going to be the most valuable physical bitcoin in the future.

What is the rarest of all physical bitcoins?

How many  physical bitcoin makers are there?

Thanks again for asking!  Looking forward to the results!

AI has to learn things from somewhere, so while it seems like this would be a cool idea, it would likely give you the most expected outcome, which is rarely what actually happens. So it would probably tell you the most overpriced and worst collectible you could buy. This is I think something about AI people don’t yet understand. It’s like the next step above Google in its current form, it isn’t a self thinking intelligent being…yet.

Thanks for sharing. I’m always happy to see my coins make an appearance in a new outlet. Looks like only one in this auction.

I was impressed with how the last auction went. It showed these coins have a higher value outside of our little community which gives me pleasure and hope for the future of our fun little hobby.

Looks like I was dead wrong about this Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76Ers game. I thought the Celtics would handle them easily on their home court but this game has been ugly. Boston can’t hit the side of a barn with their shots. No way you can win a game in today’s NBA when you’re shooting ~30% from the field and 25% from three point range…
3292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looks like it might be time to dust off my old Antminer S5 on: May 09, 2023, 10:19:28 PM
Wrong time of year in the northern hemisphere, no need for a heater.

This is pretty much how I feel about it. If you need the heat, you might as well take advantage. This time of year though, when a lot of people are having to start running their air conditioners for summer, even if it was profitable to mine, it might not be when you factor in the cost and inconvenience of having to cool the miners.
3293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer Original Slots or slots from 3rd party Slot providers? on: May 09, 2023, 09:57:35 PM
I can’t say I know enough about how slot machines online and their service providers are considered or who is the third party to have an educated opinion on the matter, but… I always tend to think that the less hands you have on something the better, so whatever method has you dealing with less people in the event something goes wrong is probably the way to go.
3294  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Octotank12 with 2 whatsminer 30s+ review. Not ready for full review. on: May 09, 2023, 09:55:26 PM
It seems like they underestimated the difficulty and cost of shipping these and might be trying to figure out how to streamline their shipping methods to make sure you get it in one piece without them having to raise the price. Just my feeling after seeing their message. I look forward to seeing the results and I’ve always thought solar and immersion cooling was the combo everyone should have.
3295  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Would like some opinions on “Bitcoin magazine” on: May 09, 2023, 07:51:39 PM
Search around. I think there  are probably folks on these forums that still have access to hundreds of sets. I used to sell complete sets for around $200 I think. While they are hard to find at decent prices, I think that people who have lots of them would say they’re difficult to sell. Putting up a WTB post might not be a bad idea. You never know who will see it.
3296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Have $229 usdt, need doge or pepe coin. I can send first. on: May 09, 2023, 07:48:31 PM
Can’t you even do this sort of trade in the metamask wallet? Fees might be high but I imagine they will be nothing compared to what you’ll lose buying pepe coin. Plus, if metamask ever does an airdrop maybe you’ll qualify for using their in wallet exchange. I imagine sites like Uniswap or whatever people are using nowadays would work also.
3297  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 09, 2023, 07:45:14 PM
How to save savings in inflation, there are many deposits provided by the bank, but banks often go bankrupt, does it make sense to buy gold? How is gold bought in a bank and interest is issued on it?

Buying gold to me is something people to do protect their wealth. If you have more money than you know what to do with, sure, get some gold as insurance. If you’re trying to maintain spending power and beat inflation though, your best bet has always been stocks. I feel like cash and gold are both lost or confiscated more than I’d feel comfortable with, but you rarely ever hear of stocks being lost or confiscated, not to mention their historical return has been quite higher than gold or cash.
3298  Economy / Economics / Re: What to do with all guy who loss money to stock market on: May 09, 2023, 07:42:32 PM
The crazy part about the stock market is every young guy thinks he is going to get in and trade himself a couple % in profits per day and be rich in a year. It just doesn’t work like that. Those people get bled dry. Unfortunately, it takes age and wisdom to see that being debt free and slowly building a portfolio of dependable companies or index funds is truly the way to reach financial freedom. Slow and steady…
3299  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: May 09, 2023, 07:40:14 PM
This Russian gas ban is seemingly having an unintended effect of Russia finding new partners willing to launder their natural resources and setup new methods of trade that bypass the American dollar. I think we’ve reached the point where the tighter the US clenches it’s grasp, the more the world slides out from our palms.
3300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear Market Reaches $27605 - Will the Downtrend Continue?" on: May 09, 2023, 07:37:59 PM
There are several reasons for the market to decline right now. You have the US government dumping coins like crazy. You have the threat of the mtgox coin distribution hanging over the market. Now you have a flooded mempool and developers talking about censoring transactions from the blockchain. There are good reasons to be bearish at the moment. However, I think all of these threats will be behind us within a year and it will be off to the races.
