I didn't understand why OP mentioned brute force in his wallet seems he had a wallet ID and the 12 words seed -snip-
He doesn't have the 12-word recovery phrase, all he mentioned in the OP is a 8-12 possible characters of the password. Plus he posted this: No, he doesn't remember the seed phrase, he did not write it down. So, the only way is probably the brute force.

I have 21 bch a total of around $9,000 dollars that Is missing due to this mistake. I thank everyone who is trying to help me figure this out and whoever leads me to recovering this I will pay them generously.
No one can really help you if it's in Coinbase, not even their customer support because of the address' script type incompatibility between 'Bitcoin Cash' and the 'Bitcoin'. I had asked in your previous thread of what " Coinbase" your coins were sent to. Alternatively, the first characters of the address where it was sent should give the info if it's recoverable or not. Does it start with '3' or '1', 'bc1' is out of the question since BCH can't be sent to it?

You didn't replied to your previous thread. If you can't find it, Mods moved it to 'Exchanges' board ( link). Because if it's 'Coinbase', not 'Coinbase Wallet', there's no point in reproducing the issue. These are the wallets' links: Which one?

I think its because of old hdd and small amount of ram (only 4 gb)?
Can I simply copy wallet.dat from old pc to my iMac (with SSD and 12 gb of ram) to make the process faster?
If you decided to do that, you should increase the database cache of Bitcoin core in your iMac to about 6GB to further increase the sync speed. The option is in " Settings->Options->Size of database cache" just below 'prune', setting it to 5722 should provide significant sync speed boost. You need to restart Core for the changes to take effect.

Yes, only your own (the built-in wallet) transactions. The node's functions like transaction relay wont be affected by walletbroadcast=0

If you're using the GUI, Bitcoin-qt, you can view those outbound peers in " Window->Peers", select an outbound peer and look at the right pane. You'll notice that both " Sent" and " Received" are both actively updated, so it's as said above. The configuration/bitcoin.conf entry that falls under your concern is blocksonly ( info).

I will try unchecking connect to server automatically and selecting another server. Is the bubble supposed to remain green?
It the connection icon didn't even change, you might have improperly selected a server. The right way is to right-click on your selected server then select " Use as server" from the right-click menu.

I sent bch from bitcoin.com app to btc address via coinbase app. I made a huge mistake. Can I get my bch back and how? Please help. REWARD
What particular Coinbase app? " Coinbase Wallet" or " Coinbase"? Because the latter is a custodial wallet plus exchange and the former is a non-custodial wallet. If Coinbase, then do the instructions above about contacting their support. If it's Coinbase Wallet, you can restore by importing your Recovery Phrase to Electron Cash ( https://electroncash.org/) or other clients that supports BIP39. That's the 12-words that you need to take note during wallet creation; for Electron, use the options, " Standard->I already have a seed->paste it->change the derivation path into m/44'/0'/0' " Finish creating the wallet, wait for the block headers download in the background and the wallet's balance will be updated.

I want to have a real node, doing real things. Why do i need this testnet?
I dunno, bitcoin.conf is empty by default so you might have set it unintentionally. Also, depending on your use-case, you might not be needing the other entries that you've added to the config file. BTW, aside from deletion, commenting the line will disable it just like what you did in rpcuser and rpcpassword.
|
|
|
Also what does it mean "testnet = 1" ? Is my node running in some "test" mode?
Yes, that's to set Bitcoin Core to run on the testnet instead of the main network. Note that testnet has a separate blockchain and data directory from the mainnet and shouldn't be treated with monetary value. More info: https://developer.bitcoin.org/examples/testing.html

I see no issues there, maybe it's fixed now?
The signatures are not showing on my end, at least in the board that's mentioned in the OP, child-board: Others (Pilipinas)

I guess that it's now confirmed since you didn't replied to my post.
Perhaps you have the "master private key" (xprv) of that watch-only wallet where the funds were swept? If so, just use the options "File->New/Restore", set a wallet name, click next; select "Standard wallet" then "Use a master key". Paste the xprv key there and if it's the master private key of the watch-only wallet, the balance should reflect to the new non-watch-only wallet

I'd suggest you to read the sticky thread in this board: Newbies - Read before postingit got most of the information you need including your previous question and the one in the OP.

*Unfortunately the wallet doesn't give me the option to select an exact tx fee, so matching the exact UTXO value could be difficult.
It's Blockstream Green right? In the " network fee" drop-down menu, there's a " custom" fee that you can select, it's in sat/vB but you can add decimals to set the total fee that you need. Then after clicking " REVIEW" the total fee will show above the send window, if it's less than the fee that you need, you can use " back" and increase the fee rate by 0.1 or 0.01; repeat until you set your preferred fee.

This watch only wallet is a deterministic wallet, i dont have seed/key. Bitcoins are now there.
How do you get your hands on such watch-only wallet? It's only possible if you've imported a " master public key" from a standard wallet. The bad news is: there's no other way to reverse the transaction made by sweeping your paper wallet's key, unless the transaction is still unconfirmed and it has RBF flag. If it's unconfirmed, you need to act fast, import the private key to a new wallet using " File->New/Restore", set a wallet name, next select " Import bitcoin addresses or private keys", then paste your private key. The transaction should appear there, right click on it and select " cancel transaction" and sign then broadcast to send it back to yourself. Note that the transaction should be unconfirmed (not a green check or colored pie) and flagged as "replaceable" ( RBF: True).

I'd suggest you to first power each rig without any GPUs and risers, only the basics: Motherboard, RAM, CPU, SSD, Power Supply and the required peripherals. If problem persists, then the problem is either the Mobo, ram or processor. If it's stable, in the next test, add one or two GPUs; again, if stable, repeat until the problem occurs. Better move this topic to the mining section, there: Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Mining > Mining support. Look at the bottom left corner you'll find the "Move topic" link, right next to lock topic.
This should be in the Altcoin section: " Bitcoin Forum > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Mining (Altcoins)" because a mining Rig consist of GPUs can't mine Bitcoin.

As a side note of no consequence, during my attempt to find this transition I ran across a block for which I could not determine whether Blockchain was recording or not, https://www.blockchain.com/btc/block/660500. The block consists only of a coinbase. :/ There's actually more of that empty block, specially on the older days. The old ones were simply because there are no transaction in the miner's mempool, so they mined the block empty. The latest are speculated that those were blocks that're mined seconds after the previous block, like your example 660500: previous block height 660499 has the same timestamp as that empty block. How then do I get a hash ID to show the exact value I sent?
Is it impossible in my case? If so, how do others like this one get it?
That transaction's change is too small that the dollar equivalent of it is just a fraction of the sent amount. It's also possible if the transaction has only one output, only the recipient, no change. You can do that: send an exact amount if you have any unspent output(s) that's a little higher ( that can cover the fee) than the amount that you want to send. But that's less likely to happen. Disregarding the fiat equivalent, you just have to paste the receiver's address to the blockexplorer and the transaction history below will show the received amount in BTC.

Is your Electrum wallet 2FA? Because if it is, then its "master public key" when used alone wont produce the same addresses as your 2fa Electrum's 2-of-3 multisig addresses.
No? Then you need to provide some info about the wallet/service where you've imported or generated the addresses using your "master".

That's the latest login page ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) What he has is the " alias" which is different from the " wallet ID" ( read the replies in page 1 to know what is it). Or you've just pasted the wrong link?
