3301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had a time traveling machine, then? on: May 04, 2023, 02:57:51 PM
The question is, if you were from the future and had a time machine to travel back to 2023, what would you do?  I suspect I would think it is probably a good idea to buy ownership in as many companies as possible (invest in the S&P 500), and earn as much crypto as possible.  I imagine you would set up miners and make Bitcoin purchases as often as you can.  Maybe that would even be a curse, as you would probably miss out on your life trying to capture as much future wealth as possible.  If you managed to have kids, I bet they'd live a pretty cushy and spoiled life though.  Hopefully that would be your goal if you go that route.
3302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 04, 2023, 02:55:02 PM
In game 3, the 76ers are only +1.5, which is nice.

To be honest, I like the spread too.

basically, Celtics needed that win, so it does not surprise that the difference was that large
but, next match will be different, 76ers have their break, and now they will try to secure some home wins, not sure they will succeed dough

Lakers and Warriors is really interesting duel, two teams that have waited for play-off to show what they are capable for, and winner could have some chance to reach Finals after all, exciting to follow this one

I agree that the winner of this series likely reaches the Finals.  The Suns look bad and the Nuggets I'm not sure have the experience yet, but they're also capable of reaching the Finals.  I think everything rests on Anthony Davis' shoulders.  If he can stay healthy and continue dominating, he's going to be a problem for the Warriors.  The next round would be a little more of a challenge for him, but I think LeBron will be able to get him by Jokic or Ayton.  I think we're likely to see the Warriors and Celtics, but only because I'm not confident that AD will be able to stay healthy and keep playing big minutes in the Warriors series.
3303  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if BTC won't see ATH again? on: May 04, 2023, 02:51:12 PM
I believe in BTC and the more i see post like this i feel even better, because this resits every year .... lol Grin Grin
It seems to me that one day there will be a breakdown in cycles anyway, because it turns out it is very easy to buy bitcoin before the halving and sell afterwards. One day there will be a manipulation which will panic on the market and most people will lose money. Statistically there is no 100% repeat of cycles, especially in such a manipulative market as cryptocurrencies.

I think the fall from $69K down to $16K lost a lot of people a lot of money.  It seems that we're now on the way back up and I personally believe that we'll see a new ATH sometime in the next two years.  As 5thangel says, this seems to be a pattern that repeats, although I would say every 4 years.  Bitcoin does need a "wall of worry" to climb if the price is going to keep rising, and it seems like that worry is coming and has already started taking a toll on other assets internationally.  The big question that remains is if Bitcoin is going to rally through a recession, or experience it's first break from the 4-year price cycle.

Some people would say that the International Court of Justice order to arrest Putin does not make any difference. However, it seems that it actually does in international terms. A large part of any diplomatic negotiation happens behind the scenes, if informal networking and talks that happen in the corridors, not over the table. Putin's out of it now and that is going to create problems - mostly for the RF.

Quote
South Africa’s authorities have asked Russian President Vladimir Putin not to come to the country to participate in the upcoming BRICS Summit, Sunday Times reports, citing sources.

Was he really planning on being there anyway?  I doubt it.  Especially after the recent attempt on his life.  Still, this sends a little bit of a message that his actions have consequences on the international stage so it's a good thing.  I'm sure Putin appreciates the heads up as well that if he were to go there would be trouble.  All in all, it seems this is a positive thing for everyone, unless Putin had some sort of desire to be there.  I suspect that's not the case, but you never know.
3305  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: May 04, 2023, 02:17:54 PM
In my opinion, holding the top 10 is the best and safest step, projects or coins that have a large market cap, namely the top 10 and the lowest currently is $8 billion, so it is safer and calmer, when there is market turmoil, the community will usually help to pump again.

I’ve been around long enough to see plenty of top 10 coins go away to nothing. That being said, diversification is usually a good thing. I don’t know if I’d blindly throw money at whatever happens to be there. I can understand holding BTC & ETH. Maybe even a different scaling solution like MATIC or SOL. Maybe even a meme coin like DOGE if you believe in Elon.

Boston slapped up the Sixers with Embiid back. It looked to me like Embiid ran out of gas after the first half. He was taking some plays off and I think it cost his team. I’m not saying the Sixers are better without Embiid, but they’re definitely better than having an injured slow Embiid out there and I think that showed tonight.
3307  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is a senile, old Bitch on: May 03, 2023, 07:30:06 PM
What is your position on the debt ceiling, by the way? Am I curious, do you think Republicans are supposed to approve more debt without negotiation or they are doing the right thing by trying to push for cuts in the budget?

I think any and all measures should be taken to make sure that not a single penny from the American taxpayer goes into funding transgender studies or teachings in other countries. So long as Joe Biden is willing to pay to try and brainwash other people in other countries into this transgender fantasy of mental illness then I’m ok with shutting down the entire country until we have a President that isn’t a complete moron.
3308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 03, 2023, 06:52:10 PM
My DCA buy, originally scheduled for monday, got delayed for tuesday, when it slipped into the little $28k dip. Nice.

Hm?

Don't you gots ur lil selfie a lots of cornz by now?

By the way, I will admit that in some sense, I can relate to what you are describing, especially since sometimes, I will create tokenly small orders, just for funzies, and I will get a wee bit worked up regarding whether and/or how such order(s) fill.. and whether there was a lot of good/bad luck involved in the way that BTC prices ended up moving, even though in the whole scheme of things, the order(s) hardly even affected my "stack" in any kind of significant or meaningful way.

Lucky you  Grin
I still keep adding, even small amounts, and i probably won't stop. I don't have a reason to stop. In the end, most of the stack is desinted to be a heritage for my kids.

This is the way.  Smiley

I think it's smart to be stacking now even if we do see a drop.  I think the odds of BTC being higher in a year or two is a fairly attractive risk reward scenario.  It's always great when a DCA hits after a drop even if it doesn't make a difference in your stack.

I am impressed with how Bitcoin has managed to hold up so far as we get closer and closer to a major recession.  I'm seeing prices going nuts at my grocery store.  This can't continue.  It reminds me too much of 2007.  I feel like I should be stocking up on everything because goods are double the price of the last time I checked on nearly everything!
3309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 03, 2023, 06:49:27 PM
I already bet on the Warriors at -4.5 as well, I like their chances in game 1 specially at their home court. They lost a game here against the Kings, but I doubt that they can go 2 home game lost specially in the playoff. Curry has taken over and he is putting performances like he was trying to proved his doubters wrong. Lakers has the advantage of having a rest, but they could have ring rust, while the Warriors have the momentum right now. Lot's of game match up, inside with Looney and Draymond against a healthy Anthony Davis.

Honestly, what could go wrong? It's like you've predicted the exact opposite here mate and I know bettors are quite confused what happened in the fourth quarter after the Warriors had a 14-0 run in almost 5 minutes, which got the fans hyped because they are tied again. But they kept on making mistakes, especially Jordan Poole for throwing the ball inside the Steph Curry range.

Anyway, it's quite impossible to think that the Warriors will again have 0-2 in the 2nd round. I know it's somehow possible but I believe the Warriors will not let that happen.

They've got their hands full with Anthony Davis...   We'll see how they adjust for the next game.

Tonight we may see the return of Joel Embiid as the MVP has said he's on track to play tonight.  I don't think he'd say that if it weren't true, so I expect we'll see him in Boston facing off against the Celtics.  The question is if he's going to be able to make an impact.  I don't think he'd play otherwise but you never know.  I'm sure people will be giving them the edge with Embiid back and them winning without him.  I have a feeling tonight is going to go to the Celtics though.
3310  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 03, 2023, 06:41:28 PM
...
In practical terms I am not sure this is drone attack. There seems to be something exploding above the flag so if it is a drone, it is probably a statement - a message saying "you cannot even keep your capital safe" - rather than something that could potentially kill or cause any real damage other than by mistake.

https://youtu.be/_Hp8YuhzJYY

How possible is it that the thing was a false-flag for the purposes of getting legal authorization for a potential declaration of war against Ukraine?  I would say 'very'.  Would the various Russian governmental apparatus do such a thing?  I would say 'of course'.

I would also say that there will never be a better opportunity for Russia to ensure that ye'ol 'pale of settlement' does not go contiguously from the Baltic sea to the Black sea for the simple reason that it will necessitate sharing of the revenue of transit fees over the Belt-n-Road.

I would also say that if Russia has an opportunity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, it would be by losing control of the PMC situation.  I think that Putin would do his county well to make a rule that PMC's are welcome to operate in the contested areas outside of Russia in pursuit of commercial advantage, but not within or really even near RF areas.  If Prigozon or Shoigu or anyone else cannot handle that, it would be 'thanks for your service, here's a lot of money, and goodbye.'  Similarly this is a golden opportunity to not just switch the oligarchs around, but get rid of much of the oligarchy and various other undesirables altogether.  'This' being the point in time where a new global monetary system is being formed up and the Oligarch's power via the old one are diminished.  Many of these people probably do constitute a clear and present danger to the nation's people, it's political leaders, and one-another as they can be offered future Western goodies to offset their losses under the current sanctions regimes.  I'd suggest to keep an eye on 'em.

It seems a little weird that anytime an attack happens against Russia or it's interests the media immediately starts pushing this false flag attack angle.  I don't think Russia needs any more reasons to attack, they're already attacking.  Personally, I would say this is more likely some fringe group making an attempt at impacting the war.  The facts are these types of weapons are getting lost everywhere right now and it wouldn't be insane to think that anyone could have gotten their hands on some tech and tried to use it.  The fact they failed shows that it wasn't a sophisticated attack.
3311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 03, 2023, 06:38:00 PM
Yes, the Lakers stole one game on the road, and they are very hyped up right now. However, I wouldn't join in on the hype because it's just one game. The Warriors could still come back with good adjustments
It's okay that you won't join the hype and bandwagon as this is normal whenever rivals are playing and this isn't the finals game. We've got all our favorite teams and we expect more for our supporting team to come back which is the GSW. That shot of Poole has made rounds and it's funny that everyone is certainly feeling bad about that shot. If everyone's feeling bad on it, how much more Poole and the entirety of Golden State Warriors.
Lakers in game 1 against warrior this season is so good and very accurate as well know that they have a good teamwork in order to beat warriors in their first meet in semifinals in this season. But it just a 1 game ahead so there's a chance for warriors that they will bring their best the game two and in upcoming matchup. We all know that warriors is a very strong team and even the series are 2-0. There's a chance that they can get up and with until the game 7 but Anyways congratulations for the  winners who bet Lakers in game 1.

Lakers review the last game of GSW against the kings, as they really countered the known advantages of GSW. If you review how they made those counter attacks and how they limit the potential breakaway of the Warriors.

It's a team effort which is led by LeBron and Davis. Both are aggressive, not just with the offense, but also with the defense and rebounding.

But like what you said, it's just 1 game and the conclusion of the series will be decided once a team already won 4 games.

I think it was mostly Anthony Davis.  He exposed the Warriors as not being able to contain him.  They pretty much either have to not miss shots or hurt Davis in order to have a chance if the games keep being played this way.  The second half the Warriors did a little better job on him, but he also played a ton of minutes so he was probably tired.  I'm not sure how the Warriors are going to be able to handle such a large guy in Davis.  Maybe if they didn't trade away Wiseman they'd be able to run more fresh legs at him, but I think the Warriors have a problem on their hands if Davis stays healthy.
3312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 03, 2023, 04:38:37 AM
Anthony Davis came out and dominated in game 1 for the Lakers against the Warriors. One of the all time Lakers playoff performances. The Warriors won’t be able to win this series unless they figure out how to contain Anthony Davis. He looks like a man among boys out there. I knew he was going to be a problem after how the Kings bigs were able to cause problems.

Asking price lowered to 0.02 BTC + shipping.

Evening OG,
My previous offer still stands.
LMK

I don’t believe you ever made an offer. You asked about low power mode and I let you know it is possible.

If you want to grab it for 0.02 BTC and pay for shipping, it’s yours. Just shoot me a PM with your location and we’ll see what we can work out.
3314  Economy / Speculation / Re: Month of May. Bitcoin price guess on: May 03, 2023, 02:14:54 AM
I think we are likely to trade sideways until the market has more guidance on the mtgox distribution. Everyone knows it’s coming and will likely happen sometime between now and the end of the year. Traders are probably going to want to be short when that happens, so I suspect once the first payments go out we’ll see a selloff. What month that happens in is a guess at this point.
3315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 03, 2023, 02:13:00 AM
I'm really pumped for both games tonight.  I'm excited to see the Knicks doing as well as they are, which normally I'm not a very big fan of their and I'm excited to see playoff Jimmy Buckets going up against him and doing his playoff thing more than likely. I mean when it comes to guys in the playoffs...Jimmy Butlers an all time great.

Edit: nvm Butler is out game 2 booo

The second game of course is where I'm really excited to see.  Lebron versus Curry, which could be a final showdown, or at least the best showdown we may ever see of those two again..Can't wait!

I think I'm only betting the second game, and I think I'm putting my money on LA..though I'm not sure that's wise.

I’m sitting out game 1 betting on the Warriors and Lakers. With the Lakers having more rest you never know if they’re going to come out rusty or rested. I’d also like to see how Golden State matches up with Anthony Davis. I think whether or not Davis is able to bully the entire Warriors squad will determine who wins this series.
3316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 02, 2023, 11:21:12 PM
Joel Embiid is the winner of this year’s MVP award. I personally don’t think he had a better year than Jokic, but I’m glad Jokic didn’t win it again. The NBA always gives people the MVP too early and leads to them getting snubbed later. I think that’s what happened to Jokic this year and giving the MVP to the ‘next up’ guy is why Rose stole one of LeBron’s MVPs and same with Nash stealing one from O’Neal. I could go on and on. Hopefully this Embiid MVP (which is more like a lifetime achievement award in this case) allows them to break that cycle and start giving the MVP to the player that had the most dominant season instead of the next superstar.

Why do you think he does not deserve it, you have not given him any chance since the beginning, it seems.

I don't know...  I never saw empty shelves in my grocery store until Joe Biden became President.  I never saw transvestites dancing half naked in front of children and teaching them how to do the same until Joe Biden became President.  I never saw teachers quizzing children on an endless list of pronouns to make mentally ill people comfortable in their delusions before Joe Biden was President.  I never saw >9% inflation in the United States of America until Joe Biden was President.  I never saw China rise up with Russia, Brazil, India & others to replace the US Dollar until Joe Biden was President.  I was never concerned about WWIII until Joe Biden was President.

It seems he's failing basically everywhere.  Anyone who isn't embarrassed by him at this point either hates America or is so brainwashed by the media and big government that I just want to create distance between us.

I start developing an interest in Boxing and UFC matches when I visited a relative, he is so into these types of sports and he seems to know a lot about it, by I have to keep myself from asking him what and what I should do to know more about such sports, I have this in mind to be able to make some bets or gamble on such sports, my problem is I don't know how, if anyone is into such sports where should I begin? Any special UFC or Boxing platform where I can read news and updates about such sports?

How do you bet on such games? What are the things to be on the lookout for? Because I believe this is different from football ⚽, I also don't have access to satellite dish like my relative does, this is how he is able to get the best out of these sports.

what information can you give someone like me?

I'm definitely not a pro by any means and I'm sure my answer will reflect that...  I don't rely on singular news sources for really anything these days.  I've found that Twitter gives you plenty of news articles from a variety of sources posted by the individuals in the know who can make good recommendations.  So for me, Twitter is my go to for information and from there I am usually pointed into the right direction of where I need to go to find what I'm looking for.  I think that's better than using a singular source as news outlets can occasionally be biased.
3319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 02, 2023, 10:05:29 PM
I am not a gambling addict but some friends are making me look like one because I gamble less and they gamble more, it all started when we got into an argument that investing in Bitcoin is not the same as gambling, my friends who are gamblers, not full-time but more of a gambler than I am, are claiming that there is no difference between investing and gambling, they said if all you doing is investing money on Bitcoin you are no different to those who are gambling in a casino.

Still, I refuse this because I believe they are wrong, Bitcoin market has charts and I am playing with charts even if I am a full-time Bitcoin trader, all I need to do is read charts, and if I am good at it I will win vs gambling, where it's you vs a company which we can never tell if their games are completely fair or not.

Furthermore, I told them that Bitcoin investors tend to get positive results, while online casino gamblers tend to get negative results more than positive result, true or false?

I asked them to show me prove that they make more from gambling than they lose, none of them showed me, but I prove to them that I hardly have losses investing in Bitcoin lol .

Famz, drop your opinion on this, would you categorize these two as gambling? Because the only winning factor from Bitcoin investment is to just buy low and wait for a high price, it's not the same with casinos. Am I not making sense? I will like to hear from you.

If you are dropping money on random shitcoins, then I agree with your friends.  It is slow motion gambling with the house or big winner being the issuer of the token/coin.  Investing into Bitcoin is a little bit different, as it is already being accepted as a new asset class.  One could make the same argument for Ethereum.  There is little demand outside of those markets to justify additional valuations though, so I can see how they can be considered gambling.

Investing definitely isn't gambling though on the whole.  Many companies are good brands with consistent earnings that aren't a gamble at all, but an income source.

With the expectation that he will add good chance for the Suns in winning the title might be spoiled since Nuggets
is really giving them a tough time leading 2-0 in their best of 7 series.

We will expect more critics as some of them are just riding with the issue to gain attentions especially those so-called sports analysts.

Their chance will be in game three because they might gonna pull an upset just like the GSW did when they first let the Kings win some games but they took the last laugh at game 7. But the problem with the Phoenix Suns is their chemistry because they are now with KD and they were not playing that long they are in the stage of building some trust, especially in the playoff games like this. If they cannot handle it well, they will gonna blow this chance and might gonna be swept by the Nuggets because right now they are completely at the different level because of jamal Murray.

A healthy Murray provides an extra help for Jokic and the rest of the team, with how Murray distributes the ball and how he also
attack the basket with a very big contribution that really giving them the extra edge.

If Suns will push this one to an upset, they need to start now. Losing 3 straight games will surely put them into a place where they needed to bring impossible things to happen.

We still can't conclude this series as there are still games that can change the tempo of a possible outcome. Let's all enjoy both teams' performances.

With Murray shooting the way he did and Denver still controlled the game late is going to be tough for the Suns to deal with.  It doesn't seem like anyone can stop jokic.  Eventually they are gonna have to just keep throwing doubles and triples at him and hope open shooters go cold.  No one to guard him one on one.

Ayton's defense has been embarrassing.  There's that clip going around of his standing out of bounds and watching the Joker get rebound after rebound...  Kevin Durant is trying to pick up the slack and has gotten a couple blocks and goaltending calls being the help defender.  Ayton just needs to man up.  He's been a different guy then we saw in the playoffs a couple of years ago.  I don't know if it was the money or what, but he's turned into a diva before he had a chance to be a superstar.  I hope KD can help him see that he needs to improve.  Booker hasn't been able to.
