3301  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 28, 2013, 08:29:30 PM
The question is, if they are running with the cash, how does this make any sense at all?
If they have the asic and someone will receive them within a few days, how does this make any sense at all?
3302  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 28, 2013, 07:28:14 PM
It's either black or white, and we will find it out soon.
3303  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Who wants to buy bitcoingem.com (the website, NOT the gem) on: January 28, 2013, 06:05:27 PM
Someone should offer to buy it at the current gem price and refund the stupid guy locked in at the time.

You have a master in CS and are unable to buy bitcoin?
How exactly did you burned your brain in the meantime?
3308  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 28, 2013, 07:01:00 AM
Cool, late this week we will have the forum screaming.
3309  Other / Off-topic / Re: What’s the motivation to be 24 hours/day on Bitcointalk and/or BFL forum? on: January 27, 2013, 09:22:57 PM
So you decided to sign up here, make a couple of zero substance posts in the newbie section, leave your browser open some time, and immediately come to the custom hardware section to complain about bfl. You are Frizz23, and you are getting more transparent by the day.

You are correct, your posts are full of substance.

Do these people get money from BFL? (serious question!)
What if they are BFL?
3311  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 27, 2013, 02:24:36 PM
Will we reach one week from the shipping date without any proof and without any comment?

How do they think to sell us a second batch?

3313  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 27, 2013, 10:55:32 AM
or are you serious about waiting untill 10 feb. before you believe they run the fuck off  Cry Cry
Yes, they don't have my money so i don't care.

I'm sorry in case you guys will lose something, but i warned you and said to sell your preorders (for like 5000$/unit) and i even betted against them shipping on the 20th. I tried to do my part. In case they can prove to have the ASICs working and shipping they will have my money on the second batch.
3314  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 27, 2013, 10:22:53 AM
One week and still nothing. Looks like another company just telling lies. There was a time ngzhang was a reliable source for good hardware. Too bad Ztex never entered the ASIC race... I guess he had good reasons.

They said it would take 2 weeks for their customers to have the units.
So, i will start calling them scammers in 20 days (20 of January + 20 days ~= 10 of February).

I will start planning for my own ASIC at the time. LOL.
3315  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I see no sudden increase in total network hashrate. on: January 27, 2013, 08:46:17 AM
IMO:
One thing you can rest assured of is that, if there is no tracking number yet, nothing has been shipped yet. And these Avalon guys, assumed they aren't scammers, better know how to get things going in China because if their devices draw too much attention (as they probably do) they will "disappear" from the factories well before their contact can ship them.

More please.
3316  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 27, 2013, 08:06:13 AM
Has anyone seen 'the bitcoin show' episode with Yifu? I'm watching it now... Lol, remember Bruce? I wonder who he's scamming these days.

3317  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 26, 2013, 05:24:33 PM
Doesn't having the tracking number give you access to the recipients address? Perhaps it's for privacy.
Not the full destination address but with a bit of google you can figure out where Jeff Garzik lives, call up DHL, pretend to be him, fill in some of the default questions they ask you once you give them the tracking number and change the package destination.

If you do, I'd prefer that you use Jeffs current workplace in Brussels at our offices, we'll hold it for him ;-)

Publishing a tracking number public before the package has arrived is a bad idea.
Sending the tracking number of a package on route to the customer is common courtesy.

I did that even witout a tracking number. With DHL.

From my iPhone.

So I beated you all Cheesy
3319  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 26, 2013, 07:06:09 AM
Because people would still be willing to pay more once they know what it is they are getting.

Okay, say I want to buy a device for mining, and I want it to remain profitable for at least a year. That means I am looking for a device with the following features:

  • mining
  • low power

Sure, Avalon could have some extra awesome feature, but unless that feature increases mining (maybe it sees the future so it knows which nonce it will be without hashing?) or reduced power (maybe it includes 16 100W solar panels to keep the unit online for free?) then the unit is not going to be superior than a boring competing unit which does the same mining for 1/4 of the power.
Quoted for future reference. A sampling of a BFL supporter before the review.  Grin

I 'll ask you later on if you are still thinking along the same lines. (Don't worry, I know it won't make sense to you until later.)

So after this insider info, how much will you order from the second batch?

And please define "until later" please, if you are allowed to.

Maybe the 100$ extra shipping cost is to corrupt the customs agents.
