What I heard from a reporter living in Melbourne on the radio yesterday evening was that AO and the Victorian state granted a number of medical exemptions to carious players, the Australian governmant and Australian Border Force notified AO and the Victorian officials that a medical exemption would not be enough to gain entry to the country, visitors would have to be fully vaccinated.
I think everyone is in agreement that its getting very messy, but it could have all been avoided as Nadal said, the rules were in place for months. Djokovic had to go the "Last minute . com" route.

Great graphic! Everyone should see this, it might help as an aid to "stop selling" because this is a great "Buy" signal. I check this a few times per week and "10" is the lowest I have seen since I started checking it. https://alternative.me/crypto/fear-and-greed-index/Why Measure Fear and Greed?
The crypto market behaviour is very emotional. People tend to get greedy when the market is rising which results in FOMO (Fear of missing out). Also, people often sell their coins in irrational reaction of seeing red numbers. With our Fear and Greed Index, we try to save you from your own emotional overreactions. There are two simple assumptions:
*Extreme fear can be a sign that investors are too worried. That could be a buying opportunity. *When Investors are getting too greedy, that means the market is due for a correction.
Therefore, we analyze the current sentiment of the Bitcoin market and crunch the numbers into a simple meter from 0 to 100. Zero means "Extreme Fear", while 100 means "Extreme Greed". . .

For a forum heavily populated with relentless Bitcoin bulls, we're surprisingly easily spooked.
Forget months, I hope that we'll get another 2014-16-style years-long depression. Miner's paradise. This time I'll keep most of it, I promise.
The ones panicking are the people who are over exposed to bitcoin or the late comers who haven’t been through a bear market before. I sold pretty much nothing from 2014 to Q3 2021. In 2018 I thought my life was over, full of regret & panic but I still sold nothing. I learnt from that mistake & sold 25% between 53.8k & 65k, I am prepared for all outcomes now, feels good. I think everybody needs to feel like I did in 2018 & 2019 so they get experience to do it right in future cycles. Yea I agree, Bitcoin market related Fear needs to be experienced and after going through it further fear events will be easily handled. I'm not worried by this latest downturn, it gives me a chance to buy back some Satoshi's which I had to sell in December, now I'm buying more Satoshi's for the same FIAT, its great. I can do this in the belief that long term everything wil be just fine. I heard a interesting interview on the radio today with a computer scientist about this current downturn, He put it down partly to the unrest in Kazakhstan and how the internet was suspended there from all the riots, this effected mining and mining is very popular there since China became very unfriendly to Bitcoin last year. Here is a related article > https://www.newscientist.com/article/2303666-kazakhstan-unrest-takes-down-a-fifth-of-global-bitcoin-mining-network/Of course this is only temporary, a lot of people cannot see that.

4 games scheduled this weekend in the United Championship with 1 postponed because of the old reliable COVID.
Edinburgh v Cardiff - Edinburgh could go to top position if they win but the table ATM is a bit skewed with Edinburgh being 1 point behind Leinster at the top and many teams 1 or 2 games behind and still to play them.
Glasgow Warriors v Ospreys - this is a game between 5th and 4th spots currently
Munster v Ulster - Ulster are going well and are in 3rd, while Munster who are not going too badly are down in 7th but only 6 games played, thats 3 missed to date.
Scarlets v Dragons - Postponed
There is concern now as to how to fit all remaining games into the remaining schedule, round 10 this weekend and every team has missed some rounds, The south African teams and Cardiff have only played 5, some have played only 6 or 7 and a few have played 8.

Edit: Just got this from wife, cracked me up ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Good movie, will have to watch it again ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FyVJRclw.jpg&t=663&c=NviiUoROmn35vw) That is class Trofo This isn't simply someone wanting to play in a tournament. It's directly and inextricably linked to the problems that the world is facing.
I disagree completely. It is not linked at all, Đoković is just asking to play. The rules are made elsewhere, Australia made the mess out of this, not Đoković. I will not go as far as to call him a victim because he for sure pushed to play but ultimately - he's just a tennis player. Of course he will want to do the best for his career and that is to play in the tournament. ATP does not request vaccination for playing - meaning that they are taking a neutral stand there as well. The world's problems should be solved elsewhere, not by Novak Đoković and not like this. The mess is theirs, the responsibility as well. Look there is overwhelming backlash to Djokovic being given an exemption, a backlash from people who have complied with regulations, have endured countless lockdowns and are experiencing restrictions and cannot wait to see the back of this COVID business. There are also top players who have complied to what the vast majority of the world has complied with and have commented on what has happened pretty much siding with the authorities, Nadal and Medvedev notably. I think this is definitely linked to what the world is experiencing. No vaccine, no entry, this goes for shops, restaurants etc. as well as countries. ...and in the mean time there is lots of Tennis being played down under.... Just watching Tomljanovic v Kenin, 3rd set and Kenin looks like she would like to bury her racquet into the court every time she misses a shot.

Which I believe for a new channel is pretty decent. Undoubtedly the channel would've received a helping hand from this forum, but I imagine most users here would've likely forgotten or not bothering to follow the thread, and therefore I imagine there's much more organic views on the second video than the first teaser. So, despite the video not really bothering to touch upon anything specific at this time, I expect once it starts specifically targeting certain topics, and therefore keywords those numbers will go up even further.
Ofcourse they are good for the newly launched channel which have only two videos at this time and not huge audience is engaged at the moment.Keeping in mind that most forum members aside from this thread might not be aware about the forum channel or as you said might have gone away as there was 2 months gap so the normal audience who might have come across this video must have peeped into it to have look. snip Just watched the second episode and have to say on first viewing I'm very impressed with the professionalism and presentation. I think its a great introduction to the forum. On reflection and I really dont mean to be harsh or too critical, It probably seems a bit rushed although it touches on a lot of points about the forum and the length of the vid was probably considered, anyway I really enjoyed it and will watch it at least once more. Well done to all involved.

I personally wouldn't, but I'm not like super against it. Though I think that Saylor definitely knows his thing(surprisingly after watching a few of his interviews), I just think that Andreas Antonopoulos is simply just better at explaining things.
As for over-optimism, yea, I'm afraid only deeper research and thinking realistically can fix that.
and OgNasty Yup I agree MS certainly knows his stuff, I would even say he has been and is always thinking outside the box but with that his speech and thoughts Metaphorscan be a bit abstract and tricky for newbies to follow. I would also say his speeches can come across as geared to business people but are essentially aimed at everyone. So its tricky as to directing some people to his stuff, there are other knowledgable people who send a good message, Pomp and Andreas Antonopoulos as posted above. Free intro course > https://aantonop.com/workshops/introduction-to-bitcoin-and-open-blockchains/Learn the basics of Bitcoin and Open Blockchains from industry expert Andreas M. Antonopoulos. In this course Andreas will walk you through what Bitcoin is, explain how to get and use bitcoin, how the bitcoin price is derived, the transaction timeline and more. While this course is not a prerequisite for any of the other workshops courses, it is designed to give you a solid foundation of understanding for your open blockchain learning.

↑ Thats fairly straight forward and its not what was portrayed in the media here. I believe there was quite a sizable backlash to the decision to grant him an exemption from the population of Melbourne who have been the most quarantined city in the world and who have massive compliance over 90%. After everything Victorians have been through, Novak Djokovic getting a vaccine exemption is nothing short of a kick in the guts. All those lockdowns, all that suffering. Seriously? I think in light of all this justice has prevailed.

While Elizabeth Holmes was a super-hyper, there is some degree of hypocrisy on the whole fraud charges as Silicon Valley is perfectly know for inflated and unjustified claims. Is there a limit between wishful thinking and plain lies?
I wouldn't say it's a bad thing per se. Having very ambitious goals for a startup isn't a bad thing, because that's what some entrepreneurs try to achieve — create great products to change the world. Wishful thinking in this case, that may or may not amount to anything. On Holmes' case, they were claiming that they can already do the blood thingy, which was obviously a lie. Quite a huge differentiating factor. And it definitely doesn't help that the media hyped her up into stardom just because she's apparently some female version of Steve Jobs or something similarly dumb. Yup as per mk4, A lot of new startups need to hit the ground running to attract investment, this often results in a product not being quite ready when it is supposed to be, that doesnt mean the product wont do what its supposed to do. In this case it was a matter of attracting investment based on lies and wishful thinking but mostly lies. The machine was claimed to be used by the defence forces and would be used by every hospital, medical centre and pharmacy, not though if it couldnt do what was claimed.

I couldnt believe what I heard today.
This has just turned into a bigger farce now, I think the Aussies have gone too far although Djokovic and team didnt make it easy for themselves and something had to happen regarding this whole vaccine issue at some stage.

Your asking price is considerably more than the most recent auction held on the forum for the same unit and I believe @doblezero has more copies to auction. You might want to amend your asking price, good luck anyway. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5378817.00.0035 BTC

Nayib Bukele is undoubtedly one of the most bullish politician in bitcoin history. So it's no surprise, he will speak highly about it! Also I assume, not just two but more countries will adopt bitcoin as a legal tender in coming months. But none of them is likely to wipe out their own currency system in this process just the way El-Salvador did. Bitcoin will be adopted as a parallel currency alongside their own fiats. Also it makes sense for the small countries as it will save them a ton of money from foreign remittances.
But I really doubt about the 100k claim. As Franky rightly pointed out, it is extremely difficult to sustain at 100k level. Some hype of whale movement may push the price beyond 100k but it won't sustain due to the huge sell pressure. So if we don't see a whole new array of investors in the market with a similar or higher buy orders, 100k will not sustain. The market has to eat up the supplies to sustain at that level. Simple economics!
With his breakthrough investing a big amount of BTC for a country, other country leaders could be stimulate to also invest in cryptocurrency because crypto is already recognized by the world and no longer said as a scam thing or something that going to bubble. The price increase is not the most important thing for bitcoin and the whole crypto markets right now, we need more adoption and more reach to make people invest on it and the price will be followed, sudden price pump is not good for the market we would rather to make it slow but steady increasement I would imagine that a number of "countries" have at this stage already been in contact with Bukele so he would be in a position to know something of this and there has been speculation from the community already as to who those countries are likely to be. We can be fairly sure though that they are likely to be similar countries to El Salvador who are using the $

The biggest difference for me straight off is if you want to be guaranteed to be liquidated or stopped out go with $100 @ 50x it will only take a couple of % of market movement to trigger loss or stop.
Most experienced leverage traders only use 2 or 3x
When you hear "the market is over-leveraged" they are referring to the absolutely crazy high gambles like 50x and these either pump the markets when the shorts get liquidated or dumps when the longs get liquidated

I don't think anybody mentioned it here which surprises me a little considering how many words were spent about Djokovic and AO....Anyway he got "medical exemption" and he is playing in Australia without need to get vaccinated. Personally I like it that he plays and I don't believe in mandatory vaccination but after all those statements that nobody got exemption and that only vaccinated people will be able to attend...this seems like a slap in the face and another example how we are not all the same. It would be much better if they were just quiet from beginning ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Correct Trofo, this isnt about personal preferences Except for he who can dictate what he wantsthis is about double standards and doesnt send a great message to those who have gone to the trouble of complying with the rules. This is about viewership and revenue. If the reason for being vaccinated etc. is to keep everyone safe from being infected and to try minimise the burden on the health system, why is it that one person and possibly members of his teamare allowed to ignore those? why not 10 or 100 competitors exempt, why not a percentage of the audience, why bother with vaccination requirements at all, why is one man exempt? Personally I think its ridiculous. My regard of Djokovic had until today fallen from being my favourite player to one I care little for, today it has fallen further.

My guy, are you serious? First of all, this thread is dedicated to a Signature Campaign for Rollbit, not Roobet. Mentioning their promotions here is so off-topic that I'd even consider giving you a negative trust tag for it. Secondly, I've ran these competitions for a looooong time and the results always come out after ~1 week. Give me a break for this one though as it's been fucking Christmas and New Years. Perhaps you celebrate neither but I do. If you took part in the art contest I'm making it known here and now that you will not be eligible for any prize, you won't be able to participate in any campaigns/promotions that I run either. Happy new years. ouch, looks like Theones needs to learn a little self control, trust and patience.

Thats interesting, unique and basically putting that physical collectable and 1 Bitcoin out of reach of everyone. Bitcoin is physically going "to the moon"
Commemorative coins will be available for sale before launch, obviously limited, I wonder who will be first with the unofficial commemoration of this event?

Anyone watching the ATP Cup?
There were some good games yesterday and a bit of a shock defeat by Medvedev by Humbert. Medvedev made up for it though by playing a great doubles match to win.
I watch matches which are at the end of the program like Tsitispas - Schwartzman just now. Just won my bet as well on Schwartzman to take a set which I placed in Tie break of first set when Tsitsi had mach ball. He is definitely not in his top form and I except him to struggle in AO. Free tip, Gonzales/Molteni should destroy Pervolakis/other Tsitispas and odds are @1.45 for match line and @2.2 for straight set victory. Just hope there will not be a player change since that will void the bet. I prefer when bookies list doubles in competitions like this as Greece vs. Argentina and then it does not matter if there is player change. And Tsitsipas is beaten by Schwartzman, I didnt realise that Tsitsipas had an ebow operation, its possible he is not just 100%. I have to start betting on sets too as well as outright wins, It might help my win/loss ratio and to make gains this year.
