I found that the topic of getting merit is always being discussed, I understand that providing quality posts are good, but what does it mean by quality post? Like sometimes I saw some posts maybe sharing some information of a particular topics but they are not being awarded.
Is there any skills or guideline?
There are no specific guidelines, what I suggest is to see which posts get merit when you go to the merit stats : Recent merits : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=recentHere are some other stats that may help you, just browse around: Top-merited recent topics Top-merited topics, all-time Top-merited recent replies Top-merited replies, all-time Top-merited users, recent merit Top-merited users, all-time

i see that i'm the only one with "posts" displayed under my merit and actvity, is this something for the first poster only?
Here is an answer i wrote some time ago, I don't like to write everything again so here is a old quote: I have enabled post count
How do you do that? The first thing I did was try to find a setting for it but I couldn't find one.

~ I am thinking that he might have been a newbie in the past where he can't wait to be part of a signature campaign that is why he is doing this kind of illegal advertising and he might be getting paid for this as he has done it several times already.
He have more than 3 accounts ( at least two are confirmed and banned) but i'm pretty sure he has more accounts hidden. So if this account is not banned for ban evading, then it should be definitely banned for advertising as Loyce said. But we have to keep our eyes open for such atitude. If he got paid for doing this s# i'm sure there are others like him.

Halvings will gradually lose potency. Going from 25 BTC to 12.5 is a big deal when there are still 15% of new coins to arrive. Going from 0.78 to 0.39 when 0.8% is left to mine is considerably less impactful in real terms. Dunno about the psychology f those numbers though.
It depends on the price of the bitcoin I guess. If it is in the price range as per today it won't matter so much, again 9 years ago the a few bitcoins were almost nothing in a value. What will be in 8 years or 30, I can just speculate, but if the up going trend continues those low number can still affect the market, maybe not so drastically as the last years but for sure there will be an impact.

Just bump into this one, a newbie trying to cheat wearing a "signature" in the post field. BTW he already got 2 of his alt accounts banned, this will be the next one too go 1. Guys keep your eyes open for cheating newbies. The restriction are set by theymos so this kind of behavior should be punishable. ~
I super agree. Please dontpqnic and just relax. All of these fluctuations are simply normal in investing. Be patient because for sure, the market will go up again. |█ | DPH | D I G I P H A R M | █| HEALTHCARE BEYOND BARRIERS ╚════════ WWW.DIGIPHARM.CH ════════╝ [1] -

There is one other thing that is missing in the big picture. In addition to what the previous guys said about the comparison between bitcoin market and the Japanese stock market the here is the other nail to the OP's theory - the Bitcoin Halving. And those 4 year cycles cause and will continue to make the market tremble, it inevitable. Just for fun here... Source > https://cryptozek.com/bitcoin-chart-wall-street-cheat-sheet-market-cycle/

Also, the manual update of the profiles is not working since yesterday ( at least ... I found about it yesterday). Edit > Tested it today - 28.11 and is working fine The personal merit stats are ok too.

OK then, it could be a option to toggle it on and off. So everyone are satisfied, except theymos because he is the one to implement it.

A cool down period would be a nightmare for me - I need to click and run to look for ther next guy when I'm in my merit shower mode. We are talking about a second or two here, not a minute. Are you sure you are that fast? I know LoyceV has some skills in meriting multiple people in a short time (if I remember correctly) so he can be more affected by this but I really doubt that it will be a so big issue.

How do you merit twice exactly? Did you press send 2 times in a row fast or what? You better start losing some weight with those clunky fingers.
I just click a second time because I thought that I miss the first click, but I was wrong. Anyway the guy deserved the merit so no big deal, but there was a case a month(s) ago with a guy who send 40 instead of 20, there is a difference for sure.

Thanks for the suggestion, I was looking only for a widget which to show the balance in the background. I have the same from Coinbase to check the price and I think is very handy, you don't need to open and check every time, just a quick peak. I installed Electrum mobile now to test it, I use Electrum on the PC but never tried the mobile version.

Just happen to again a few days ago, I merited twice in a matter of a second (it was only 1 merit extra but still). I know this has been discussed before, but since nothing has changed I just suggest to add a 1 second (or 2) cool down time after sending, just to avoid such mistakes.

It is possible to assume that it was a mistake on the part of the user and the account can be unlocked. The solution remains with administrators or global moderators. But I still don't understand how you could have made a mistake.
It happen with me one time, when you have a long quote pyramid and you try to respond from your phone/in my case/ sometimes you scroll down and you see a few empty lines and decide, OK here is the end of the message, but what actually happen is someone of the commenting has used the Enter a bit too much and you have 2-3 breaks which seems like the end of the message. You just write there and in the mean time someone else have posted before you and you get a warning but you post your post anyway. Then you go and read the post before you and just forget to check yours. What saved me in my case was the fact that I remove the irrelevant quotes from message, but I have deleted one opening quote tag too much, so there was one closing tag left. This tag saved my ass. It happens some times, I'm sure i'm not the only one.

Dear Hammonds,
this thread is only for to list and report accounts. If you got banned, the proper way is to open you own tread in Meta regarding your ban. The exposure here is almost 0, and we are not Mods, only regular users like you.
Good luck.

I tried the Sentinel Android and I'm happy with the app. I wish there was a widget to display the balance in the background, and some alerts when the balance change but it's fine like this too

Great, so at least this procedure is not as difficult as the account recovery. Hope the OP will get his account unbanned
|
|
|
I don't think I banned him, but it does look like it could be a misquoting fuckup.
Just out of curiosity, can you unban him or only theymos/Cyrus can?
