3321  Other / Meta / Re: iOS app for this forum? on: April 10, 2015, 03:33:27 PM
Wouldnt it be greate to have an iOS app for this forum?
There is already one for Android.
Everybody hates to zoom in and out to read something on a forum, dont you?
So why dont invest in a iOS app, which makes all iPhone users to better interact and use this forum!
Any opinions on this? Not sure if this is the right board for it, or should it be in New Forum Software?

You should move this thread in the new forum software, however this is the reply from a slickage member:

Slickage does have this planned in the future roadmap. We have very seasoned iOS and Android developers so this should be fun!
3322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need to know more about cold storage on: April 10, 2015, 03:17:22 PM
The best cold storage is to print your private keys on a paper (don't mention on it that it is Bitcoin-related), copy it several times and store these papers on several locations. To be safe, make a USB copy additionally. Finally, delete the private keys from your laptop, if you use it to get into the internet Smiley

It seems a lot of you don't understand that a cold wallet/storage private key should never be used or exposed online. If it is exposed online than it loss the cold property and it "is not more secure". For generate a real cold address you should choose a "secure" machine with windows (maybe better linux) and "use" bitAddress or client/wallet (downloaded from another machine, and transferred through USB or other storage supports) to generate your offline address. The final thing to do is send your bitcoin to that address and protect your laptop with several "copy" of your private key (into a sheet of paper, cd, floppy, sd,etc...); a real private key of a "cold" wallet address should never be exposed online.

This will only work for a specific (yours) profile Dogie. Sad

You should change the id number with your forum id. My ID is 211419 and yours ID is 19459.

Exactly. I only added the link to Profile. This is the same for every user.

Try with this direct link : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=;sa=ignprefs

3325  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS destroys Syrian Church on Easter Sunday on: April 10, 2015, 02:41:18 PM
The fact that ISIL/ISIS slipped under the radar of this incompetent US regime is amazing given the amount of money spent for that exact purpose. Where is the accountability in all this with the NSA, CIA, defense intelligence? Heads should roll (not ISIS style) but you know what I mean.

Maybe a (stupid) question that come into my mind (and I don't find any real possible valid answer) is: Who is real supporting (with money) those terrorist groups? Someone said "Saudi Arabia" and the other near countries.... but I don't think they aren't the unique countries.

Maybe someone of you have a valid theory, please share it (it would be an interesting debate).
3326  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS destroys Syrian Church on Easter Sunday on: April 10, 2015, 01:49:03 PM
They kill humans without any remorse. Do you really think they will care about buildings and stuff if they don't even care about humans.

They have destroyed hundreds of Shia Muslim shrines and mosques, in addition to Christian churches and Yazidi temples. But this is nothing when compared to the hundreds of thousands of innocent people who were butchered by them.

The amazing thing here, that these ISIS members are claiming themselves "muslims" but kill also muslims, christians etc... This is the really strange thing that I cannot understand.

Seems to be a quite pointless action. Calculated savagery is often part of the arsenal of conquering armies to shock their enemies but this one will piss of people instead of shock them into submission.

That's obvious, what is the purpose to destroy a Church? I think there isn't any valid reason for destroy an antique and important Church.

In my personal opinion he doesn't own 5k bitcoin, and he didn't give any proof and an ultimate thing:  this is not a news related with bitcoin technology (OP you should move the thread in another section).

PS: WoodCollector, we are waiting some proofs Wink.

He couldn't even provide any proof of his carving skills or anything else relating to the whole fiasco for that matter so he's not going to provide proof of these mythical btc.

....and you were right, he can't gives any type of proofs as he said in this post (from one of his alt account):

According to everyone who is a child on this forum

I AM WOODCOLLECTOR

So let me put the issue to bed, The treasure is fake and not worth your time. You can all move on now and stop filling this forum with usless garbage.

Thank you

This forum is really nice, every day a new story. Thanks WoodCollector aka Stuff4Bitcoin, for making me laugh.
3330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Palestine & israel? What do you think about that situation? on: April 10, 2015, 12:29:24 PM
do you know that israel is still invading the Palestine lands or not? I don't like the israeli politic about this fact.

Just because you say something doesn't make it a "fact".

Like, I could say I'm fucking your mother's corpse. It wouldn't make it a fact.

So are you saying that israelis are not (continuing) invading the Palestine lands? Then 'I am out"  Roll Eyes it is really impossible to make a pacific conversation with you. Have a nice day and I don't want to put you in my ignore list (I prefer to read all the comment made by you). An ultimate thing: Here I'm not the nazi, maybe someone else... but not me Wink.

Israelis didn't "invade," but keep fucking that corpse. Maybe someday we can have a "pacific" conversation when you're drowning in the Pacific Ocean.

Are you really serious? Or just kidding?

3332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's about time to turn off PoW mining on: April 10, 2015, 10:35:32 AM
Yes, PoW mining just waste too much energy, and the most important thing is mining is become a game between rich people who can afford buy the Asic miners. Everyone can mine bitcoin is out of date.

Agreed. What would you propose instead? PoS mining is even more a game of the rich, since it effectively by definition is the epitome of plutocracy!
Yes PoS mining is also a game of the rich, but compare pow, it's more efficient, at the same circumstances, which one do you choose, the answer is obviously.

the problem with pos is the initial distribution, it can be cheated so easily , like happened to faircoin, communitycoin ecc...

they must find a very transparent and fair initial distribution

Define fair distribution.

everyone get a chance to have some, equal %, but it is almost impossible to achieve

We can say there isn't a fair distribution in both the algo. PoW and PoS. The problem is always the curiosity and confidence in that "coin", I am sure all we know there were a lot of users sold 20-30k bitcoin at 2 dollars due the "confidence". So it is not a problem of the algo at the end.... it is impossible to create a perfect algo >> coin.
3333  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] DigitalOcean $100 in platform credit for new users on: April 10, 2015, 10:25:56 AM
Selling DigitalOcean $100 in platform credit for new users.
I am selling the code to get the credit. Got it from GitHub Student Pack.

https://www.digitalocean.com/

For redem this code of 100 dollars, Should I create a new account on digitalocean.com or can I use my personal account? Let me know, because I can give you 15 dollars. Send me a PM so we can "talk" about my offer.

I'm guessing it can be credited to already existing accounts but until OP confirms I'm not 100% sure. Getting a deal on this would be pretty useful to me right now. Keeping an eye out...

I am also interested if it is possible to add it on an existing account, if the reply is yes I will bid 16 dollars (obviously I will pay using bitcoin). Let me know and thanks for your attention.
3334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks and Bitcoin on: April 10, 2015, 10:19:45 AM
Damnit that sucks if that happens. Thats why BTC is better (no one can freeze your account)

Only who have the private keys can "freeze" it, how? By forgot the private key itself  Cheesy. If we are thinking that bitcoin can replace (kill) the actual economic system based with intermediary (banks) we should also think how to teach who don't have any knowledge on how to use a PC/device and related  wallet/client.

PS: remember who owns the private key owns the bitcoin!
3335  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World powers, Iran reach framework for nuke deal by June 30 on: April 10, 2015, 09:10:07 AM
An important news about the "nuclear accord":

U.S. President Barack Obama is facing a stubborn opposition to the framework agreement from his Republican opponents in Congress, and even from some of his fellow democrats. There is no doubt that the opposition in Congress would be eased if the Israelis were to suddenly see the light and realize that the P5+1 agreement is not a bad deal, and much better than no deal.
....
The framework accord will be expanded to a full agreement by next June. In return, the world community agreed that once a full agreement is signed, the international boycott of Iran will be totally lifted.

3336  Other / Meta / Re: Remove All Faucets from Service Announcements on: April 10, 2015, 08:52:15 AM
Yes, faucets are a waste of time. You will have a hard time convincing someone of the fact though. Mainly because all they see is "free moneyz" and do not understand that dust inputs are a pain in the arse.

No, I don't think it is a waste of time because the prime approach to bitcoin and especially to get some satoshi is by the faucets. When "the newbie" will learn more about bitcoin he can stop to use faucet and start to buy btc or gain them, by providing a service.
3337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8,400 bitcoin on: April 10, 2015, 08:17:30 AM
I was just sitting watching and listening to the bitcoin transactions at  http://www.bitlisten.com/ when, at around 02.12 am GMT, the biggest bubble I've ever seen there appeared and filled the screen.
It was a payment of 8,400 btc
Good Grief.....that's around 2 million dollars!
Way to go!
 Cheesy

Have you never "seen" this transaction? https://blockchain.info/it/tx/29a3efd3ef04f9153d47a990bd7b048a4b2d213daaa5fb8ed670fb85f13bdbcf

550'000 bitcoin moved in one transaction, it is from 2011 and those bitcoins are over on mt.gox
3338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks and Bitcoin on: April 10, 2015, 08:04:47 AM
In my opinion, banks will never accept BTC.
BTC is for the banks actually competition and threat, not something that can be offered as an additional financial product.
It is much more likely that banks offers its own virtual currency than BTC.
Banks do not like the things over which they do not have complete control.

It is a controsense that the banks will start to use bitcoin. Because with bitcoin I can send payment from A to C without pass to B, instead with banks I am obliged to pass from B. This is way bitcoin and banks can't coexist if we are thinking in a global adoption.
3339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you mine it or buy it? on: April 10, 2015, 07:30:57 AM
I'd like to ask the users here about how you got started in bitcoins and how you acquire bitcoins.

So the two questions are:

1. When you started, did you MINE or did you BUY bitcons?

When I am started I mined it but it was more expensive, later I have bought a couple of bitcoins.

2. If you are a regular user of bitcoins currently, do you MINE or do you BUY bitcoins?

To start off the discussion, I can only answer question 1. I mined bitcoins when I started. Then I bought and sold bitcoins through an exchange.
I cannot answer question 2 because I'm no longer a regular user of bitcions.

Now the "bitcoin mining" is very insane (you can mine only if you have free electricity and hardware at good price). If I want bitcoin I buy it or try to offer a service and ask to be paid in bitcoin.
