DirectBet- The way your system worked is that I placed an order at 17:45. Then you gave me a bitcoin address to send the money. I sent the money at 17:45. I hit check status of bet. It said no bet received as the odds may have changed.

I looked at my account the next day and you didn't return the funds. I sent a PM to you and you confirmed that I placed the order at 17:45. You then said that you accepted the wager 7 minutes later.

DirectBet- I always use firm odds. I want to get the odds that I asked for when I place a bet. You accepted my bet 7 minutes after I placed the order and sent the bitcoins. This is unacceptable to anyone that bets live.

Has anyone else had bets accepted 7 minutes or more after making a bet? I feel if Directbet is going to accept my 17:45 at 17:52 then they should accept my 17:48 bet.

My bet was ordered at 17:45 and money sent at 17:45.

It could have been a negotiated bet that never hit the minimum odds, therefore refunded.
Other bet was probably also negotiated minimum odds, that obviously hit those odds as the match was winding down with the losing side ahead. It would have been accepted the moment it hit the minimum odds.
I used "firm odds"

What really doesn't make sense is that Directbet is telling me that I placed the bet at 3.3 odds and they accepted it 5.5 odds. I think that type of line change would be rejected.

Another sportsbook has been introduced to the bitcointalk forum. I'm unfamiliar with the book. If anyone has information please post it.

Problem with DirectBet. In game tennis.

17:45 I place a bet. It's not accepted. It was a losing bet.
17:48 I place a bet. It's not accepted. It was a winner.

I PMed Directbet today and ask them for a refund on the 17:45 bet. They say that they received it at 17:52 and it's a loser.

They went back 7 minutes and accepted my loser but canceled my winner between that time period. They did refund the winner at 18:13 but not the loser.

I used to be a big fan of Cloudbet.  The sportsbook generally covered the few sports I bet on.  80% of the time the deposits are instant and withdraws (again 75-80%) are lightning quick MOST of the time.  H

However I noticed leading up to major sporting events deposits are delayed for periods ranging from 5 minutes to 6-10 hours (3-4 extreme cases) Support seems to only work weekdays and daytime hours local to where they are.

The biggest problem, and my own fault/downfall was and is their "Casino" the live one is OK I guess.  A little gimmicky maybe, but the "virtual" one is a flat joke.  Odds are skewed to them so heavily at times (based on needs of cashflow for cashouts?) that it just eats your coins right up.

One small example of the dozens (i learn the hard way apparently) was a round of 25 or so hands of 3 card poker with them.  During those 25 hands they landed 3 straight flushes. 4 straights Ace high and a handful or more of incredibly ......ahem lucky hands..

I'm done throwing my money at them.

D+ rating from this semi-long term user (3+ months and 30,000+ loyalty points.

thanks for the input.

Hey guys what's your views on betting with your btc? Do u like to just always keep your coins always in btc, do u switch over when u can to cash? I ask because I want all I bet with in btc and not all places have total btc which have cheaper lines but in usd and I'm trying find the best way to deal with this. I have many other books that are usd for this to choose from if I wanted my coins out of coins to bet with.

I keep them in BTC so I'm at the mercy of the bitcoin price fluctuations.

There may be a connection between stiff sportsbook BetCascade and Bitbm. Does anyone have information on this? I took their rating down until further confirmation.

no - it is not seeded - however, we have good contacts to some of our most active user and we incentivize them to do a market maker role.
thanks
3333  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of Sportsbooks. Ask books questions, problems and feedback on: July 02, 2014, 01:54:44 AM
Yes - we are a "Bitcoin only" site. All amounts on our site are in mBTC.

What to you mean with "seeded"? Wether we received a seed funding? Yes we did.
Or do you mean something else?
Most exchanges are player vs. player. Some exchanges are seeded meaning that Fairly is putting up offers, not another player.

3334  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of Sportsbooks. Ask books questions, problems and feedback on: July 01, 2014, 09:45:24 PM
Fairly - Are the offers that are up in Bitcoins or another currency? Is your market seeded?

Could we get added in this thread?

We are a prediction market but we offer predictions/(bets) on sport events as well.

We would start with a C since we are online since early 2014. Compare: http://blog.fairlay.com / http://blog.fairlay.com/2014/02/fairlay-beta-promo/

Actually we claim to offer the bets odds on the internet.
The reason is that at our site user bet against wach other and we only take a 1% fee. In addition we limit the events according to the number of active users to make sure that there is a liquid market that result in VERY COMPETITIVE odds.

Let me give you a current example:

Brazil - Colombia (to qualify)
Cloudbet: 1.4 - 2.88
Fairlay: 1.45 - 3.128

France - Germany (to qualify)
Cloudbet: 2.12 - 1.67
Fairlay: 2.351 - 1.714

Netherlands - Costa Rica (to qualify)

As the World Cup knock-out round continues, gamblers are advised to be careful when it comes to choosing sportsbooks that use bitcoins. The anonymity that makes bitcoin so attractive to sports bettors also carries a risk; sportsbooks can easily vanish overnight and take its deposits with them. Peeps Place, the gold standard when it comes to rating bitcoin sportsbooks, says this is a dangerous point of time for sports bettors.

“The World Cup is the most popular time for hit and run books. After that it’s the Super Bowl. I’m not saying that the new kids on the block are necessarily bad books,” says the poster Peeps Place at Bitcointalk.org. “The odds say that some will be out of business shortly after the World Cup walking off with funds. This is not the time to test out new books.”

Anonibet, the oldest and most reputable of bitcoin books, keeps improving its game and maintains its A rating. Anonibet is now adding more betting options for Americans, including competitive lines for baseball and the WNBA. They recently became a Gold Member of the Bitcoin Foundation, a further sign that Anonibet is focusing on the long-term when it comes to the sportsbook business. Anonibet is celebrating the World Cup by offering a 22 bitcoin contest for its customers.

NitrogenSports remains the sole B rated book. Like Anonibet, Nitrogen is running a huge bitcoin contest for the World Cup, giving away 20 bitcoins over the duration of the tournament.

Casinobitco.in remains at C+ but may soon be joining Nitrogen Sports in the B category. A solid book since opening business in June 2013, the Panama-based Casinobitco.com offers competitive prices with a focus on American sports.

3338  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of Sportsbooks. Ask books questions, problems and feedback on: June 30, 2014, 04:59:11 PM
Peeps Place, or anyone else interested, do you think that we could use a prediction market to provide a measure of trust for bitcoin sportsbooks?  This would provide a means for skeptical bettors to hedge against the risk of fraud.

One problem with this plan is whether anyone would be willing to bet that the book was not going to disappear (or whatever the contract specified).  At a minimum, the sportsbook itself should be willing to provide some bids to help build confidence.  After all, if they are legit, they would be betting on an outcome that they control.  The only excuse they would have to not do this is a desire not to tie up the capital.  However, they could roll this over as contracts expired.  Any sportsbook lacking the capital required to do this should be extremely worrisome for that reason alone.

An additional issue with this plan is, of course, the reliability of the prediction market itself.  There seem to be a few of these that have now emerged as fairly stable.  Some, such as Predictious, have also demonstrated a level of transparency that is, so far, unheard of among the sportsbooks themselves.  (At least they have an address, a verifiable company name and a legal jurisdiction!)  Ironically, some of the legal limitations that are a principal reason for both sportsbook owners and players to prefer anonymity might not apply to a bet on whether the sportsbook would "go Madoff".

The final challenge I see would be structuring the contract in an objective way, allowing verification without requiring the prediction market to launch a huge investigation.   This is an issue, but I think that it could be addressed.

A couple of near-term examples would be:

"Nitrogensports / Anonibet to pay out 20 BTC World Cup contest bonus."

Since these books have taken pains to provide transparency to these contests, it should be possible to verify these outcomes.  In effect, the bonus amount could be held in escrow by the market. Players participating in these contests could do so with confidence, and could hedge against the fraud risk, if desired.

Has this been suggested, or even tried, before?

You could put this up on BetMoose without any real involvement of us (the exchange). The host (you) will be responsible for the resolution. You get paid commissions for the 'bet' so you could take this up as a community effort. Also, you have flexibility for selecting any conditions and specific (to the minute) outcome times.

Feel free to to PM me and we can help set you up with a private/password protected contract if you're interested.

I for one would be interested in seeing how many of the 'legit' sportsbooks would be open to entering into such a collateral, and how many would outright oppose it.

P.S: We are also 'real' and if this has enough volume behind it we could have a private information-share agreement, so that's not a big concern.
the one problem that I see, if I'm understanding this completely, is that there is just another possibility of not being paid by enacting a program spelled out above.
