3321  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Making an open-source preev-like site. Anyone interested in helping out? on: October 15, 2016, 07:17:30 AM
Added source to OP. Please feel free to make a pull request! What I really need most is help with JavaScript!

(If you have any ideas at all, please suggest! Don't care if they're bad!)
Bro,literally you've too much of dependencies for a app as simple as this.Correct me if I'm wrong but what are the node modules for ? Perhaps the python lib for the price ticker that is
Code:
         response = urllib2.urlopen('https://api.cryptonator.com/api/ticker/btc-usd')
is more than enough,no ? I'd suggest you we start from scratch again. Are you connected with the account SirLagsAlot anyway ? Nevermind your gh,says that.
3322  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Who wants to open own Bitcoin Bank? )) on: October 14, 2016, 06:31:17 PM
you hate banks unless you haven't your own bank Cheesy
Why would I like to borrow money from myself ? And pay interest too? Explain,"your own bank".

Still nobody answered me on the subject. Everybody hate banks, but I am sure, today you will go to bar and you will pay for beer by your credit card emitted by BoA or Citibank etc. So don't tell me about you hate; say, what you do to make the bitcoin effective currency; I make a financial system. My job will take a bitcoin into shops and bars and you will pay for beer from your lovely account; maybe you will not pay for transactions. Your private interests are not interested. I am interested to shops and bars who need their business account to serve you.
Or we can use one of the existing bitcoin debit cards which can be refilled using bitcoins and they are accepted in most of the shops/bars.You could take even money out of the ATM's with it,very less service charges I may add.Do you still thinkk your product is better?
3323  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for Trading Software Alpha Testers! on: October 14, 2016, 06:22:28 PM
To anyone applying,
Do verify the sources before downloading random stuff.I'm not pointing out at the OP  but I've been a victim of similar bitcoin stealing malware. They hire you for testing the bot for which you need download it and most of the times,it isn't the case. You end up injecting a malware in your system.

Op,count me in if you can verify the sources of the download.
3324  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Making an open-source preev-like site. Anyone interested in helping out? on: October 14, 2016, 06:12:23 PM
I do not really see why there must set up an open source project for this kind of project.
Yeah, what if someone just wants to experiment with stuff? Or maybe learn the basics ? If it all works out like it's suppose to be,I think the project does have the potential to become the most used or accurate price ticker for trades.

Op,like the UI,what framework are you using? Pretty sleek!I can help you with the UI/Javascript,please update the code on github and inbox me once it's done.I've too much time on my hands lately.
3325  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Who wants to open own Bitcoin Bank? )) on: October 14, 2016, 05:57:53 PM
Hey everyone!

My name is Oleg, I'm programmer. I am and my friends are developing Bitcoin Bank Software allows to provide classic banking services for bitcoin. We're starting to invite future bitcoin bankers to discuss the possibilities of partnership.
I should have stopped reading literally after this part but since you're a "programmer" I continued.Mate,we hate banks, speakin of the bitcoin community, you shouldn't be proud to use that word anywhere around regardless of however it was intended. (jokes only)

"Starting" means the software is under construction; BBank demo will be fully available at the end of october-start of november'2016. At that time we want to be agreed with 5...8 potential bankers about their interest. Anyway, potential bankers can ask us to show some demo features right now: bitcoin bank core and some UIs are ready.
How does that separate you from traditional banking services ? Tell me you give anonymous loans to bitcoin lenders without verifying their documents,we could have further discussions then. Wink
3326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 14, 2016, 05:51:38 PM
pretty interesting for this weekend think that main game is no doubt Liverpool Manchester United rest will be put a side little cuz more will be focused on this so called derby but i will give better chances to Liverpool cuz Manchester still not showed good performance
What do you mean no good performence ? They did suck in the beginning until the match vs Leicester ,now that is the type of game MANU is capable of having Pogba in their team.Chelsea is the only time I feel is a serious threat to MANU this season. Not expecting Liverpool to come with flying colors either.
3327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: October 14, 2016, 05:45:15 PM
West Indies needs to be very careful as they couldn't face Pakistani bowling in last matches. It is continuous of good cricket by Pakistan they really played very good against West Indies throughout the current tour. In test this is appreciable performance by a team which was showing no consistency. If West Indies succeeds to safe wickets today will good.
I disagree.Pakistan is one of the worst performers in the league.Having them played one decent game doesn't make them any better than West Indies.I'm sure West Indies is beating them in the long run.

Pakistan is playing quite good into this first test match and I think it's enough to take West Indies pressure, West Indies not have good combination for test cricket and played so bad in previous series, Pakistan is looking very confidence and will play with aggressive mode and try to win this match.
Why does everybody say that ? Are you fortunejack posters really alt's of each other ? Or just shill Pakistan supporters? No logic found in either of the quoted posts.West Indies has broken records when under pressure.
3328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling website with minimum bankroll on: October 14, 2016, 05:38:54 PM
How big have to be, or what is the minimum bankroll that will allow to open gambling website?

Let me rearrange those lines for you.

1.
How big have to be, or what is the minimum bankroll

2.
allow to open gambling website?

-> Bankroll is a small term, when you're talking specifically about starting a business. You could have said "investment".That depends on your games and budget. You could start with as low a few thousand dollars and more.Don't forget the development/marketing costs along with the house budget.

->There is no minimum bankroll,if the bet won is way above your limits, you know well what we call the situation!
3329  Economy / Gambling / Re: Decentralised Gambling Game vDice Announces Crowdsale on: October 14, 2016, 05:28:34 PM
Decentralized Gambling sounds vague. In Layman's terms, there is no owner of the website or anyone can be the owner of the website.
According to Colby,no one touches your coins or the bets,it's only the smart contracts which does all the processing.Well, where does the money go ? House edge ? Who takes the profits ? Worst of all,it's based on ETH,that's a no no.
3330  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which site is the most/more accurate at showing current crypto value? on: October 14, 2016, 05:19:25 PM
My main reference is http://www.coindesk.com/price/.
However, different exchanges have their own value of each of their supported currencies.
If you want to see the prices in different exchanges, I think http://preev.com/ will give you the most accurate database of the prices and you can convert them into different currencies too.
No the prices are not really different.Just the servers calls that may cause the delay.I agree the sources may be different due to which the entire chain throttling the same API's may be affected but the most used exchanges with high number of bitcoin volume should be taken into consideration.Coindesk is safe.Preev.com always has a higher value ,a bit more incremented compared to coindesk.
3331  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Version of Kickstarter? on: October 14, 2016, 05:15:51 PM
So, question: Is there a Bitcoin version of Kickstarter?  A platform where people can pitch ideas for businesses/products to the masses and find backing through Bitcoin?  I am looking at launching a business and was thinking about this idea as a potentially amazing platform.

Unfortunately no.It's quite opposite here, unless you have some skills or you're ready to shell out a few grands,no one takes ideas/concepts seriously. However, you can always pitch in your ideas to the right people or just the community as a whole,if you're lucky you might just find a helping hand.

Also, please forgive my ignorance, but has Bitcoin been classified as a money or commodity, by the IRS?  The reason for this second question is due to the S.E.C. trying to "protect" small investors...  If Bitcoin isn't considered a money, but a commodity, then I could see it opening up the option for people to "invest" in a company via a kickstarter platform with Bitcoin, and eventually receive a dividend in Bitcoin.  Even for a initial investment of $5 (unlike the $5 "donation" level most kickstarter campaigns have).

US does have specific laws on the use of cryptos, not sure if IRS takes them seriously. If you liquidate your 1000 bitcoins to your bank account, expect a raid from IRS next day.Considered as money laundering.

Barring the S.E.C. and the classification of Bitcoin, I imagine you could just once remove the Bitcoin through another Alt currency and accomplish the same thing.

What's the point ? You gotta liquidate it to use in real life which is not running away from the IRS.

I apologize if my thought process isn't as concise as it could be.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
You probably need to visit this forum more often. Smiley
3332  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Callcoin - bot for cheap international calls with payments in Bitcoin on: October 14, 2016, 05:05:56 PM
Does the bot have caller ID hiding feature at all ? The sad part is,bot only works for telegram and wouldn't need to be explicitly implemented for whatsapp or hike since they offer free calling service anyway. My point being, why do you think anyone pay for something when they can just switch apps and do the same thing for zero fees? The rates from the search bar results are displayed in pounds,
 1.Are those the rates per minute/per 2 minutes ?
2.Wouldn't it be better to provide rates in bitcoin as well?
3333  Economy / Services / Re: App Notification for my website ??? on: October 14, 2016, 04:50:42 PM
i wanna try to keep it as "encrypted" as possible, my Iphone won't support the Email i'm using (it requires Java for the PGP), so i thought that a APP might do the trick ?
Which Email do you use ? To make things much simple and more economical, just get a gmail address, get a python script written to automate the process of sending emails to your gmail account as new orders are posted.Shouldn't take more than 2 hours for a good programmer to write the script using smptlb module. The app idea is useless just for sending notifications.
3334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: dice roulette might make a good game on: October 13, 2016, 07:54:02 PM
Basically you have 2 dice that are different colors and each die face has different values associated with it. You add 2 face values together (then add another +1 so the total is never 0) giving you 36 possible combinations from a roll of the dice. Placing bets is almost like for roulette except the #0 spot is invalid and to maintain house advantage the odds have to be lowered (maybe 34 to 1?).
No,how would it give 36 possible combinations ? If you roll two dices normally, you get 6*6 ie 36 possible outcomes but if you add values of 2 dices with a third one,the value comes 36*6 ie 216 possible combinations.Plus add one number could be manipulated to get the expected results.

3336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 207: Rousey vs Nunes Prediction and Info Thread on: October 13, 2016, 07:44:20 PM
-Too Early to predict anything,man.
-I hope Nunes doesn't break one of her ankles before the actual match. You can call it "backing-out". Tongue

man this is going to be awesome!

I really hope Rousey wins. The sport is so much better when she is kicking
arse. Plus it sets up for a epic re-match with Holly Holm.
Is tha a thing to say ? Rousey takes this easy. All the frustration from Floyd Maywheather drama is soon to be released I reckon! Not sure about the re-match with Holly.Where did you get that information from?
3337  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Supernet/Iguana/Komodo and what they do for Bitcoin - A short introduction on: October 13, 2016, 07:39:12 PM
You've a plausible explanation.Do you think you will be able to convince the core developers with that ? Ever ? I doubt it.Let's look at the facts,it's not exactly bitcoin which is revolutionizing the decentralization but the implementation of blockchain.Supernet should probably do something similar instead of trying to push the limits which are impractical.Or you could invent your own coin,a competition to bitcoin so people can choose among the best.
3338  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Plugin for a browser to pay with bitcoin on: October 13, 2016, 07:28:28 PM
Hey guys,
We've started developing plugin for Chrome & Firefox that will highlight bitcoin address on the page.
How do you make sure it's a bitcoin address only? Could be any string 16 characters or a multi si address ? Have you tested it out on these use cases? Btw,do you think people will really trust a 3rd party bitcoin related app as their browser extension ?

If you point at it, addon will ask for the amount of bitcoins, that you need to spend to buy smth. and will automatically calculate amount of USD that is needed to be paid for the goods. If you are agree, you ll be forwarded to a payment page, where amount and bitcoin wallet address are already entered. So you won't even need to create a bitcoin wallet to make purchases over the internet with bitcoins.
What do think about it and what other features could be implemented within such an addon?
Honestly, having a hard time understanding the concept. What if I'm on a page like bitcointalk where all the pages have bitcoin addresses ? I'm not here to buy anything simply pointing at the address would be useless for your app.In case I'm willing to buy something, you said I will be redirected to a payment page, what page is this ? Who made it ? How will I store bitcoins on that page ? Am I missing something ?
3339  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitnotes: paper notes backed by bitcoins on: October 13, 2016, 07:17:45 PM
-Going all "paper" for a digital currency which was made to replace the paper methods ? Something contradicting itself?
-Nevermind,I like the design, however do you think it's portable to carry around if at all I'm planning on paying with one ?
-I can download my keys from a site such as blockchain.info as a pdf file with a fancy scanner code.Basically, print the same which will provide almost similar functionalites.Agree, you've better security.
-How much you're planning to price a note for?
3340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: October 13, 2016, 07:09:50 PM
That is a process of learning, it was like that with me and many others. I discovered that with talking with friends and my own experience, I started with  faucets and some little amounts and xapo was good enough for my needs.
The process of learning was 2 years back mate.If you google now a tutorial for bitcoin starters I'm sure they'd mention what wallets to use for what purpose. You were still stuck on the same wallet anyway, did you understand the title of the thread?

That was first wallet for me, and there I learned how to send and receive transactions. After many hours of learning, gambling, trading, and finally making more money I found other wallets, better ones and with better security.
Like ? I started with owning 3 wallets after doing my research about bitcoins.Desktop wallet for cold storage,a web wallet for daily transactions and a dedicated wallet for gambling. Not very hard to learn that as a newbie.I was remotely concerned about the security as dividing my funds was the priority!

I still use xapo for many things, like first time registering somewhere, and giving address to some not safe service.
How are you answering or constructively responding to the thread the perks or disadvantages of using multiple wallets ? All I see is Xapo....
