I don't want to be that guy, but I really think that this maybe is a misquoting situation. I think he posted this : Битoк нaчaл кoppeкцию, я тaк дyмaю кoнeчнo, мoжeт этo oчepeднaя cтyпeнь, нo мнe кaжeтcя дoлжнa былa пpoизoйти кoppeкция и дa я дyмaю мнoгиe нaчнyт пepeкидывaть cpeдcтвa в Эфиp, пoэтoмy кaппa эфиpa мoжeт выpacти Wink A cooтвeтcтвeннo и caм эфиp. But he wrote it in the other's quote. This happen to me before so I know how easy it is to mess up the long quote pyramid. Of course he could have taken away the previous quotes to keep it more tidy but shit happens sometimes. I think I'm on the OP side this time. Edit: ops, suchmoon edited his post too quickly ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I'm sure there is some information out there but in order to get better help maybe you can change your subject line first. Maybe add something like "Looking for POS and Masternode Fork Guide" in the beginning of the title. You will get more exposure that way and maybe a good answer to your question.

I don't know what happens if you de-rank from Full member to member. Do you keep your avatar without an option to change/remove it or it's automatically removed.
There have been a few cases, and I believe that you keep it, but can't change it. I seem to remember there was a case where somebody deleted his avatar, and couldn't repace or restore it. Interesting, there was a case around a year ago, I was newbie at that time, of one user who was de-ranked and he wanted his avatar to be removed /it was a signature campaign stuff/, because he had no access to the avatar menu to remove it himself. I don't really remember what happened then and what was the outcome but I remember that he had no access to the menu and he posted some screenshots.

If you have been banned for this particular case, then I guess the mods have to un-ban you because the posts dates are wrong and you actually are the original poster in the case. The mods have to say if this was the reported case you got banned for or other one.

Thank you for this thread!
Special thanks to LoyceV that added all the bots from my Survey thread, it is indeed a gold mine but then again I'm not sure if it would happen without the thread or if I'm the one causing the bots to be created..
I'm pretty sure the bots got registered just for those 3$, as huge part of them have only 1 post, and the rest have one more post in a bounty section, following the same strategy. Of course you find some genuine posters in between those but... BTW in the first 100 there are almost no bots, you don't really need to open and check each profile just so many recognizable usernames there ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) .

IS it true? How can one don't post any useful topic and still receive merit? It is unfair.
There is something else besides the good posts. If you build yourself a reputation of helpful person, sometimes you get merit for posts that are not so helpful but people can easily recognize you. The difficulty for the newbies is to build up a positive reputation. Often those who are after the merit fail, because all their posts are to hunt merit and it's easy to get exposed as a merit hunter and their reputation is over. So try to be a genuine user, don't chase the merit nor ranking, build yourself a positive reputation then the community will accept you.

Made some updates now. A bit more explanation about the DTs. Also included new links in the resource. Hope to get an update of the infographic too with accordance to the new rules.
Yet another update, added new section and some steps you have to take as a newbie to secure your account and to avoid being banned and fixed the infographic as I informed 8Habits that his infographic is outdated but is offline for over a month now.
Another small changes are made, Add some extra info in the General Forum Q/A. BTW if there are any other interesting topics you think I need to cover, let me know ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

The last case is a 2017 account, whilst the others are 2011 or 2013 accounts. I guess that the 2017 account case (@I_LOVE_PIVX) suggests that perhaps all de-ranked cases keep their avatar.
Then this proofs what I was thinking that the avatars get locked the same way as the old accounts from around 2011. It's good to have such info saved somewhere, I think I'll add this to my comprehensive guide. Thank you DdmrDdmr, no sMerit left to give for this useful research.

First time to open a BTC wallet. What kinds of BTC wallet are available to buy cooper membership and where? Korean exchange wallet is available to proceed this transaction? pls advise.
Do you own any btc at the moment? Normally if you have an exchange account with bitcoin wallet it should be possible to send bitcoin to your copper membership purchase address. As I understand you have already account on a Korean Exchange, is this true? It won't be a problem to transfer bitcoin from the exchange to the bitcointalk given address.

So those accounts below full member rank and have avatar, they are stuck in current avatar because it has been years and they may not want that avatar anymore. And there is no option to change or delete their current avatar.
As far as I remember, theymos and Cyrus can actually remove/change avatars and they have done it before, but with the current work load I don't think someone will pay attention to so miniature problem. I don't know what happens if you de-rank from Full member to member. Do you keep your avatar without an option to change/remove it or it's automatically removed. That will be interesting to see.

Great news, I hate this developer mod warning all the time. Maybe you can put an (i) icon and it will be nice if it looks like this > ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FIHO2ah9.png&t=663&c=9Gv_75VanNTxsQ)

Thank you for your efforts. My pleasure to know that you are looking for someone worthy to received your sMerit. Pretty sure I am still on the process to learn more. I admit that I am not yet fully grown crypto person. Anyway give me more time to be like you. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I gave away already all my smerit. Until I get a new refill I'll not gonna check everyone's history like I do it till now. There are already enough (maybe) merit sources distributing, so if you deserve a merit, sure someone will spot you if you don't post in a sunken sections of course. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

OMG, this hat obsession is affecting the meta too. What is all about those hats? How the hell this even started? I gave up lurking in the Wall Observer it's almost impossible to find something there, it's like facebook, you just enter there and suddenly, half an hour gone.
BTW, good tutorial, it can apply for many different avatars, not only those crazy hats.
Completely agree!!! I have no idea what the hell is this hat obsession currently but I find it quite funny ^^ You know who started it? And I hope it will calm down because it makes it more difficult to identify the members xD Check pugman's answer right below my post and you'll find the answer.

@Findingnemo I don't want to be THAT guy, but better delete this comment, it can get you only in trouble. Using cracked software = Stealing digital property and it's almost the same as plagiarims. I'm not the one to judge you for that but those things are not tolerated in my country, and you can get a really fat fine for this.

Is I said, I messed up the whole thing. If i remember correctly this is what i've done > ~ I quoted the whole post first, then edited it again but I deleted 1 closing quote too much and it appeared as I posted it. Then came another edit to fix it. This is the final result, it should not trigger notifications. ...
It's not my first time messing up the quote tags..

Since there are many users in the case, I suggest everyone who start doing something to post in the following format > Format to reserve a range of accounts. [i][b]User: [/b][/i] [b]>your username<[/b] [i][b]Case: [/b][/i] [i][b]From/to: [/b][/i] [i][b]Status: [/b][/i]
So we can keep the things more tidy.

it often happen the post get edited (i do it as well) right after is posted and there could be discrepancies since only the first version is read.
But if you iasenko didn't quote directly or mention LoyceV directly (and then remove it) there could have been a problem then. In any case i can try to debug that message and see what happen.
Here is the post we are talking about. Let's test it if he will get notification. I quoted the whole post first, then edited it again but I deleted 1 closing quote too much and it appeared as I posted it. Then came another edit to fix it. This is the final result, it should not trigger notifications.

Read this: ~ There you go, another half hour gone. Thanks for the input, It was almost 400 pages back.. I don't think I could ever find it myself.
~ You don't want to fuck with the WO people, they'll dump so much of those TA's on your head, you might start to think the Earth is actually flat. And you'll prefer wearing those hats instead of taking crack on the weekends whilst sobbing about bitcoin's price. :/ And also, you'll eventually end up joining in with LoyceV , by falling into the trap(aka the hypnotism caused by Micgoosens). No way for me to go for a hat like these. NO. If I make an exception, then it will be for something like this.. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.newbornbabystuff.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2017%2F05%2Fcrochet-baby-hats-lael-viking-crochet-hat-with-bobble-beard-for-baby-toddler.jpg&t=663&c=5I_-Y2KDKa5BzA)

Is this a bug or intended? I was mentioned inside the quote, and received notification anyway: LoyceV, you have been mentioned and quoted in the following messages: I guess it's my fault, I remove the quoted message from pugman where you was mentioned after I posted the answer. I guess that's why it happened. Edited:Actually you are there in the second part of the post, see the second quote below the <hr>
