3341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Quark QRK optimized win64 CPU Miners i7 Bulldozer Haswell on: December 08, 2013, 08:49:31 AM
The rate shown in the miner is more accurate than the pool.  What hardware/cpu/settings are getting 1.5mh ?

Yes, sorry, you are absolutely right.
The miner shows about 900 Kh/s when it says "YAYYY!!!"

The pool got all wrong, and often shows an average of 1.5 Mh/s...

So I suppose 900 Kh/s is the right value.

My exact cpu is an amd 8-core vishera piledriver. So it's not exactly a bulldozer, but I believe it's the successor of the bulldozer model.
It has 4 Ghz.
It runs best with the bulldozer-miner, and the improved version made it jump from 800kh to 900 kh.

Thanks.

Hi!

Sorry, no, I meant 2 kh/s!!

That was before I actually mined any QRK though, I tested out my CPU with a scrypt coin and was getting 2 kh/s stable, so I thought I'd get the same result with QRK.

For QRK, the 8 core CPU gets 505 kh/s.

Ok, I see.

Well, I get average of 1.5 MH/s with my "bulldozer", sometimes peaking at 2 MH/s...

but wait, I think my cpu is actually a AMD 8-core vishera (piledriver) 4 Ghz., the successor of the bulldozer. So its not "exactly" the bulldozer cpu model.
But I use it with the bulldozer miner, and it works great and very stable, been running it for some days now without any problems.
(problems only caused by the mining pool)

Hah. To me it looks like all the broken currencies are paying their respects to the dead Quark. Not sure if that's what you were going for.  Wink

Hehe...it should be a funeral for the dead currencies. But I can see what you mean.

People are somehow offended by the cross, so maybe you would care to edit your post? Smiley

I like your 3d renderings a lot.

I have a suggestion for a new one:

The quarks are like the aliens of "war of the worlds" (tripods)...

And they have finally started the war against all fiat currencies...

What do you think?

AMD FX-8120 8 cores processor
2 kh/s

I believe you meant to say 2000 kh/s?

:-)

http://www.coinmine.pl/qrk is currently DOWN.    Sad

same here. down for almost 2hrs

Yes, but I am not so sure it it's down or just not showing updated stats.

The number of QRK in my account keeps on growing, although I don't see any stats changing...

So, not sure if complete mining operation down, or only statistics having problems?

ok, it's definitely down and in maintenance mode, can't log in.

3348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Quark QRK optimized win64 CPU Miners i7 Bulldozer Haswell on: December 07, 2013, 10:24:34 AM
hm, now my bulldozer is listed as inactive on coinmine.pl,...
But the commandline in bulldozer is still running, and showing correct values.

Is there something I have to adjust when I run many computers in the same home network?
Like different ports per computer or something?

3349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Quark QRK optimized win64 CPU Miners i7 Bulldozer Haswell on: December 07, 2013, 10:21:05 AM
Thanks for this miner. Works great with coinmine.pl

I have successfully tested a vishera bulldozer, plus an older 4-core phenom X2

The older phenom needs the legacy.zip, or else it will crash.

Now both workers are visible in coinmine.pl but somehow coinmine.pl shows both workers with the same kilohash?

Strange. I get about 1.5 megahash with the bulldozer alone. But when I add the 4-core-phenom, coinmine shows
the exact same value (of like 800 kilohash) for each worker.

But the miner on my 4-core-phenom shows an average of 3-400 kilohash (in the commandline), so I don't understand what happens
here.

Maybe have to let it run for a day to see better average value at coinmine.pl.

I am interest in to buy about 300€ of Quarks. Some user here wants to sell direct to me?

Best regards!

You should be able to get about 5000 QRK for that money at the moment.
You could mine QRK if you have one or two computers at your disposal.

I mine about 30 QRK per day with only one computer (8 core AMD bulldozer)
over at qrk.coinmine.pl

If you can't mine but want to trade, I suggest you buy BTC now that they are 35% down,
and go to cryptsy to buy QRK with that BTC. It's not difficult.

Don't go to ebay, unless you want to pay 5 times more.
i got 600k of quark on ebay for under $400 only 3 weeks ago Smiley i relise the prices are not the best, but you can get good deals sometimes, as you can see

lol, 3 weeks ago QRK was not even on the radar. So I believe you.

But now it's a different game.

Just goofing around trying to get something going...I'm open for suggestions/ideas  Cheesy

mate that is kick ass. go to to http://forum.qrk.cc/ if u havn't already sign up, make a new thread and post that, it's cool

Love it.
It emphasizes the "radioactive" powers of QRK. :-)
QRK is like kryptonite to Fiat monies.
3353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: At just $1, QUARK will be #3 on the planet on: December 05, 2013, 09:02:39 AM
Seems dodgy to me. A small handful of people owning that many coins before it's even out?

What do you mean? "before it's even out"?

No mining was done prior to the announced here in this forum.
3354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: At just $1, QUARK will be #3 on the planet on: December 05, 2013, 08:39:20 AM
It may be graphics card proof, but it isn't ASIC or FPGA proof.

Really? Point me to the gpu-miner or asic-miner that is capable of mining QRK with more efficiency.

Where are those?

Don't just make stuff up.

don't Bag Quark too much - ; )

you don't understand politics do you

we will play nice if you do -

you know we have the people on side now  and it's going viral -

we achieved some things that others could not =-

so we don't want to leverage vectors that you don't want us to right ?

Are you a developer of Quark? Because you sound very unprofessional.

look, if you derive a persons rhetorical or development skills by his chitchat in an open forum, you are doing something wrong.
Or what are your intentions?
3358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 05, 2013, 06:19:09 AM
Sigh. You're just spewing bullish language and not adding any value to the conversation. There's no question QRK has been getting a lot of negative publicity the past few weeks, and the fact that they're block explorer is still going down just shows how much of a mess everything is. Where is the progress to China? What is being done to get this coin onto a different exchange than slow ass Cryptsy? It's a dead horse, but why is it so much of an advantage to have such an astronomical amount of coins in the hands of so few? Where are the deadlines for the logo and the website? Where is the active involvement in the developers? I want to see the QRK developers active. I want to see some humility out of them, admitting that the early-mining looks poorly on the coin. This coin has a lot of trust to instill in me before I invest any more, because as it stands, I'm regretting what I have put into this coin thus far.
Have you seen this list?

Looks like QRK has a lot of ambitions. So give it a little time. You want everything to be ready by tommorrow? That is childish.

Lets get a list together of things we need to make QuarkCoin easier to use; easier to get information on; easier to follow; easier to obtain; and easier to spend.

I start with the following:

1. An exchange (I'm currently working on an exchange that will make buying/selling QuarkCoin as easy as Bitcoin itself, but in the meantime, Cryptsy, Bter, and Coin-E are simply not options if we wish for QuarkCoin to grow. Their servers are slow; their interfaces need working; and liquidity is still an issue. Currently, there still is no option for direct exchanges between USD/QRK or EUR/QRK. There is only BTC/QRK or QRK/CNY. Not cool.)

2. Local Exchange. You know LocalBitcoins? We need a LocalQuarkCoins.

3. Faster wallet. There is no reason to download the whole blockchain. Think MultiBit. It's light. It's fast. QuarkCoin claims to be fast, yet it's still reminiscent of Bitcoin having to download the blockchain.

4. A new website design. There is a contest going on for a new QuarkCoin logo. One of the guys mentioned that the current logo looks dated. Well the same applies to the current website design.

5. Mobile app. No explanation needed.

6. A domain name that does not end in [dot] com. Have we learned nothing over the past 2 years?

7. Servers for the website & forums held outside U.S jurisdiction. Same reason as above.

8. A video that explains the pros of QuarkCoin, over both fiat AND other cryptos.

9. A social media presence. This will make people feel more comfortable getting on board. Even now, with myself heavily excited about QuarkCoin, I am bit cautious as to whether there is any forward development of the ecosystem. Has development stalled? Are there any projects in the works?

10. A project board. This way whoever wants to get on board developing something they can. This will also give people a sense that the community is active.

11. Meetups. This will not only help awareness of QuarkCoin, but will foster discussions pertaining to the challenges & advantages QuarkCoin has. Plus, you get to make new friends. Pretty cool.

12. Bi-annual release convention. No other crypto-currency is doing this. Yes, they have large meetups and conventions of some form or another, but think of the 6-month release cycle for Ubuntu. Every 6-months, the Quark community should host a conference like Google I/O, but with a Google Hangouts & Hackerspace type feel. All walks of life will feel free to come.

13. A wallet that can be installed on your computer, not one that you have to "run" every time to use.

14. Merge Quark Freeforums & QuarkTalk. Why have two discussion boards? Also, QuarkTalk feels as fast as "freeforums", but newer.

I encourage everyone who is interested in starting on one of these, to get in touch with the community. I am currently working on an exchange. If anyone wants to lend a hand do let me know.
3359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: At just $1, QUARK will be #3 on the planet on: December 05, 2013, 05:17:10 AM
Isnt this coin a massive scam tho? wth??  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Why?
You can't just call names, explain why...
3360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 05, 2013, 05:10:40 AM
Quark is at like 11 cents now. Not exactly instilling a good feeling in me...

Why? What should the price be in your opinion?

QRK is not a get rich quick scheme.

The price should be around .20-.30 right now, this is the time for Quark to surge in recognition and marketing tactics. Everyone is dumping right now and Scam accusations are being thrown at it left and right. It's 2 weeks from being on Kieser's show and the explorer is constantly down, no polished logo or new site. Im just hoping they can make a good impression on more investors.

For every seller there is a buyer.
Let the weak hands give away the QRK into the strong hands.

Strong hands = longtime holders.

So I see this selling as a good thing. It will not go on forever and not stay forever at this price level. Obviously the ones that buy QRK now, want to sell it only at much higher prices.

Patience!
