Not that far, I don't have the expertise I don't think to go any further, I'm definitely not much of a programmer or hacker, I did find some Anarchist groups there though which was interesting, the only tricky part is finding the actual websites, the ones that are listed are for fairly legitimate purposes so there must be much more shady stuff going on behind the search engines and the like, there were of course much more illegal stuff like drugs and child porn but I stayed the fuck away from that but it was interesting to see it all there.

As I've said, the dark net is way overblown by media and exaggerated by people to be this scary and terrifying place where criminals and terrorists are out to get you lol I think I'll only ever move to the dark net if it gets to a point where you just can't say anything anymore, but I guess that's what Tor was designed for in the first place.
3342  Other / Archival / Re: Deep Web, Charter Web on: October 08, 2014, 12:56:57 PM
The dark web isn't actually that impressive as I've said in a thread of my own, while most of us I'm sure just want to be able to download porn and stuff without being prosecuted by crazy religious psychopaths ( I in particular am terrified of the thought police claiming stuff like hentai is illegal etc. and anyone holding it must be prosecuted ) there are some criminals/terrorists clearly using it though frankly not as many as I was expecting there were more Anarchists there than any really dangerous people.

I think we're better off just protecting and encrypting the clearnet with stuff like Bitcoin and making sure governments can't just take shit down and attack people for posting things up and making sure that religious people can't subvert the law anymore than they already have.
3343  Other / Off-topic / Re: will neodymium magnet stick slightly to tungsten? to detect gold coin fakes? on: October 08, 2014, 08:30:32 AM
The best way to test for gold or silver is to use a chemical or melting refining method, I don't know enough about gold yet but I'm sure there's a proper method for refining it and making sure you actually have gold. The thing you have to be careful about with coins at least is that in history states used to mix copper with the gold in order to make more coins. I don't know about magnets, but I know about a chemical solution you can at least use on Silver to refine it into fine silver, you should also note though that some Gold and Silver pieces will have different levels of purity on purposes so they can be shaped easily but if you bought the silver for investment purposes that shouldn't be the case.

Here's the chemical solution for silver, it involves, copper, water and nitric acid, BE WARNED chemical refining can get nasty so make sure you have a proper mask and don't breathe the stuff in, I found a tutorial ages ago about silver refining and I suppose now I should maybe have a look at gold refining too, after re-reading this it seems the chemical reaction might work on gold too, it might be worth trying with just a coin or something to see how much gold you genuinely have.

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread810904/pg1

Just so you know, this melts down any crap and will likely ruin the shape of your bars or coins, so only do this if you absolutely want to make sure this is pure, I don't know about how to use heat to refine gold/silver but this method looks like it works just fine as well, I might do some more research on refining but I have other projects I need to focus on right now.

This actually reminds me of a rant that George Carlin was having once about education and critical thinking, he said the people in charge want people who are just smart enough to operate the fax machines and the printers and that's it. Or in this case they just want people who are smart enough to fire a gun and not question orders, they're not even trying to hide anything now.

Also, let me pass along my own advice to people just starting out.... Never EVER say that one girl is the prettiest in a group.......

EVER!

Oh and don't bother trying to compliment them on their looks, they'll just think your bullshitting them or hate you.
3346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Low Does Bitcoin's Price Need Get to Make People Stop Believing? on: October 07, 2014, 01:46:33 PM
There's nothing wrong with it, I just think it's ridiculous that some people on this forum expect the price to go their way 100% of the time lol Tongue
3347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Low Does Bitcoin's Price Need Get to Make People Stop Believing? on: October 07, 2014, 01:12:48 PM
Speculators won't make as much money as they think they will if they trade Bitcoin, use it as a currency, the problem is everyone here is clearly trying to trade on the price swings rather than actually earn coins without screwing themselves over.

That's actually quite funny Tongue Some people are just totally paranoid, I mean, there is totally a chance we're on some kind of NSA watchlist or something but if we were I doubt they'd be that obvious lol Cheesy

Bitcoin does not need an endorsement from him. Even santoshi said keep the turd away from our bit coins.

You're an annoying moron, Satoshi has long been worried about the government getting too involved with Bitcoin, why do you think he dissappeared after Gavin talked with the CIA?

Quote
Satoshi feared that this would gain government attention, and could ultimately have a bad outcome for the company.

It's amazing the lengths some people will go to misquote and sometimes outright make up what someone has said.

Second set of Jewellery designs! Help out a small start up business and vote! Comments are welcome!

3352  Economy / Goods / Re: Two New necklaces in stock! More on the way! on: October 07, 2014, 10:46:53 AM
Vote on a cheaper Jewellery Design! I am currently designing a large amount of simple Jewellery pieces compared to my gemstone settings to try and attract sales, to help things along and involve more people I've decided to post my sketches up and let people vote on the ones they like the most rather than risk wasting time and money making a design nobody wants. The winning design will of course be the one that I focus on making but if there's a lot of interest in others as well I'll be happy to make them if people actually want to pay for them.

These designs will most likely range from £10 - £20 so that's roughly 0.04BTC - 0.08BTC at current prices, even less if the Bitcoin price goes up again.

If you have any ideas or slight changes you think would be nicer for these designs feel free to post here and let me know what you think. I will be posting up more an updating the poll as I come up with more ideas, to vote, vote for the number that matches with the Jewellery design on the drawing.

Coinbroker paid very early today! Thanks from here as well, not much more to say, for once this has been a pretty uneventful set of business transactions.

If that many people are complaining about the OP then I guess they deserved it? o_O I do get rather suspicious of modding practices though when it comes to banning.
3355  Other / Off-topic / Re: Video Evidence showing Reddit banned our Bitcoin Site & Blocked our Entire IP on: October 07, 2014, 07:22:13 AM
There was a post awhile back about Reddit going around and banning people who would criticise climate science, so I'm not surprised, Bitcointalk genuinely is one of the most censorship/ban free forum I've found yet, my proof is that I'm still here when it normally takes me about 5 seconds to get banned on other forums.

Yeah, I can't wait. I hope to get ~0.1 btc per month.

How much is 0.1 BTC in real money?

lol! 'Real', in dollars that would be $32.37 at current market price.
