I think that no sport has a comparison in the equivalent, it is the science sport say out there, but some do not consider it a sport, although it is officially recognized as a sport.
When chess is played for entertainment or as a board game as such, it does not occur to anyone to call it a sport, but when you spend 10 hours sitting or more playing and the consequent mental effort it requires, then you end up understanding that it can be considered a sport, in the equivalent that we could usually tie to it is badminton, which has even been an Olympic sport.
totally makes sense since chess can be really demanding for the mind and even for the body, focusing 10h+ on a game is probably really tiresome Chess is a strange one as regards calling it a sport. Every other sport involves a degree of physical activity but Chess requires mental strength and agility. I'm sure players physically work out to condition the body as well as their mind because I'm sure it has been proven that a healthy body can benefit a healthy brain. Aside from the skill levels required to play top level Chess there is no physical challenge. The nearest sport I can think of which requires only skill and not a physical advantage is Darts.

^ Its amazing how a significant injury can set a player back. Thiem will have a tough road back especially if he is not ready for the AO, the main concern will be not to get injured while pushing to get back to top form.
Ah Tsitsipas is a great player with so much potential but 2021 was a frustrating one for him I recon and for us who lost Satoshi's with him.

^ Just because the top three may not be there or performing at their top doesnt mean there wont be interesting matches. TBH I'll be looking forward to watching Sinner, Zverev and Medvedev.
Thats some good analysis by Trofo, I think the title is looking good for Medvedev or Zverev.

I saw the news the other day and I would like to think that with things like this people would learn the meaning of: "not your keys not your bitcoin" but I remain convinced that mass adoption is going to come with custodial wallets and El Salvador is a case in point.
I guess this kind of news is being magnified by the detractors of Bukele and bitcoin, but it doesn't seem like it is going to affect day to day life. Bukele is going to continue in his line, I guess the problems will be solved, even if it takes months, and the detractors will continue to look for anything to criticize politics regarding Bitcoin in El Salvador.
I agree with this. My thinking is firstly why would "The Government" steal users funds from the wallets? El Salvador wants and needs adoption and acceptance by the population. Secondly, if there is a security flaw it could very well be used by both hackers and those opposed to ES's Bitcoin move both internally in the country and externally outside the country.

Good points by franky1
We should also remember that there is still fear surrounding Bitcoin and crypto, some countries are fearful of letting them become mainstream I use that term lightly, particularly China which is a highly regulated country.
There shouldnt be drama though, a lot of the drama is spread by FUDsters hoping to infleuence others.

It is definitely something that depends on your skills and your experience as well! Some people try and do day trading as well which is actually beneficial even for the time when the price is not so high as well, some people face huge loss for sure but at the end they learn from it. I think you can definitely try it if you are willing to put in extra work and willing to follow the market every second of the day. I think you should try doing trading with Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies instead of dollars as your main currency perse! There will always be a possibility of a loss therefore you cannot just exclude that, it's a gamble for sure!
Absolutely, it really depends on your skills. There was at one stage a statistic going around that 80% of traders lose. If you have the skills and the discipline to trade you should be able to make profits, if you only have 1 of the 2 there is a big chance of loss.

Most Bitcoiners opinions are in agreement that in the long term Bitcoins block reward will reduce and its FIAT value will increase so we are certain of the former Block Reward and confident of the latter FIAT value, other than that nobody knows.

^^ No, they won't make any exceptions if that is not Djokovic. As you have said, it seems that they are making this one up just to accommodate Djokovic.
And I will echo the sentiments of the majority, everyone should be equal here and the tennis organisations should be fair and not bend the rules just to get Djokovic on board on the Australian open next year.
Yes, Just because it is Novak Djokovic he have got exemption. This is unfair and the authorities should've already taken decisions on the same. The organisation is taking necessary steps to make the tournament popular. If some popular players isn't available, maybe it can experience lack of audience. Whatever the scenario bending and giving special permission isn't fair and will always destroy the sporting theory. It is very unfair that such large and well-known players get permission. You can see what power does in such a situation. Don't think that Djokovic is going to win many fans with this. In fact, top athletes should lead by example and be vaccinated. People like Djokovic only make it worse this way. Organization is looking for much audience, so yes they need Djokovic. This really hits home the fact that this all centres around money, viewerships, sponsorships and actually really has nothing to do with player, organiser, member safety, contrary to what I posted last week.

Nice panorama images, they are not actual 360° views though.
Personally im not into the NFT thing, I see it as a bit of a craze ATM and there will likely be big winners and big losers when it all settles.
I can see the merit of this type of photography in certain applications like in Museums, shopping centres, theatres and stadiums but as an NFT you are really hoping for someone to buy this who are into subway architecture and know about ETH.
Good Look with it anyway.

Those guys are known in traditional finance circles. They are all commenting on "Cryptocurrencies" which includes every 8000+ $hitcoin and future regulated government/central bank issued crypto so I'm not bothered about their analysis. Ivory Johnson below has his finger on the pulse and could be on to something, after all it is his job being a wealth manager. Didnt Michael Saylor say something about Wealth Management institutions, that they are not doing their job if they werent looking are Bitcoin as an store of wealth. Anyway, its Bitcoin which will be around, all the other altcoins wont be and who knows if the new regulated ones will be too?
Ivory Johnson: Certified Financial Planner and Founder of Dalensi Wealth Management
“Cryptocurrencies will disrupt the traditional meaning of the economy because one of their most attractive utilities is the ability to efficiently transfer payments across borders which is low or cost free. In the case of Bitcoin, 50 years is a long time and Bitcoin could become the world reserve currency or the next AOL which could make many people rich until some other advanced technology comes along. ”

it is obvious that new rules and exceptions are being invented solely to allow one tennis player, Djokovic, to play in Australia. The real question, which no one has asked so far is the following: If it was any other, less important tennis player, would such exceptions to the strict Covid rules be made for him or her? I think everyone knows the answer to this question and that is why the Australian Tennis Federation has lost all credibility. One can even speak openly about nepotism and corruption in tennis because of this case, and the wrong message is being sent to other tennis players, who respect the Covid rules and have been vaccinated.
Yes, this is certainly the case. They want Novak there, and he isn't willing to get vaccinated... so they have to make up a special rule in order for him to be exempt. And yes, this means he is treated differently to other players, and it sends out the wrong message to the whole country. Why should any Australian obey the rules regarding Covid, when the government is willing to let in a non-Australian and says he can ignore the rules? We see the same thing many times over the last two years, but it is generally politicians who get the special treatment. It is rare to see someone coming in from outside the country who gets an exemption. Ah absolutely, it does send out the wrong message. How can authorities expect citizens of a country to obey laws when you essentially make someone exempt from those same laws, TBH I find it incredible that AO officials would do this. How do other players feel about this I wonder? one rule for them, another for the top tier.

I have heard, read or been told that there is a very low amount of Bitcoin on exchanges, and as a result it is easy for certain people and/or exchanges to move/manipulate the market but I'm not sure if that is actually the case but it sounds right to me considering so many people are HODLing.

You also have to differentiate between SHORT TERM and LONG TERM prediction.
SHORT TERM is essentially going to be a bumpy ride but ATM nobody can tell where those bumps are. LONG TERM everyone is pretty much on the same page, the one which tells us Bitcoin's price will increase.
For your own peace of mind its best to focus on the long term and zoom out of the daily, weekly and monthly charts.

Ah I couldnt be bothered what Trump thinks about Crypto, as posted above he only cares about his "bank balance" and if he thinks it can make a profit for him he will appoint someone to make it for him.
Melania knows where the money is at and is engaging in NFT's, so funny though that Donald is all positive about her venture, he hasnt a clue.

Why would you lose? Its better for everyone that Novak Djokovic plays in this tournament. Who cares if he is vaccinated or not,it will make tennis much better on the tournament and much more intresting honestly. I dont really care if he is vacinated or not i want to see him play for few more years on as much as possible tournament before he retires.
I don't agree; nobody is above the law so everybody needs to follow the rules. I think a tournament without Djokovic can even be more interesting as the field will be more open. If Djokovic doesn't want to take the shot, I am not sure if he will get a medical exemption as it needs to be granted by an independent panel of experts... I seconded this opinion, @Joca97 - you mean it is ok to play regardless if people around you comply with the law of getting fully vaccinated? So Djokovic can go around that rule, not only with the Tennis Federation but it was mandated by the Victorian government to get a jab before you can enter the any tournament for that matter in Australia. and I third it! TBH I have enough of the big three dominating tennis, I want to see new winners. Djokovic not being at the AO is only one player less and there isnt "that much" between the top 5 players anyway so the games should be just as exciting. Anyone of the top 10 or 20 players are capable of generating pretty exciting games.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it!
I'm not religious, but at this time of year I think it is always nice to look at life from a different perspective. Remember what is really important in life - it's not money, it's not bitcoin, it's not this forum. Spend time with family and friends (new and old), share good food, good drinks and good laughs. Toast to good times and good health.
We can all get back to being upset about the price, reporting plagiarizers, and arguing about merit and DT soon enough!
I love Christmas for the holiday from the day job and meeting up with family and catching up with friends. The only organised religion I subscribe to is the Church of Satoshi but anyway, Nollaig Shona dhaoibh Merry Christmas to all - in the language of my country

On one hand that does appear bad sportsmanship but since Hamilton was genuinely in bad temper over the outcome it perhaps wisest not to turn up in that way and make a bad situation worse by saying or even doing the wrong thing at the event. Apparently he will be fined but I find that a bit ridiculous, in his best judgement he wasnt able to celebrate at that time and to me thats just genuine rather then bad sport particularly. Later hopefully or I would hope he definitely gets over it and realizes **** happens.
I agree that it's bad sportsmanship but it seems that in F1 the sport gets very personal. Look at the Netflix shows, the behind the scenes of the racing breeds this sort of thing where drivers can develop grudges against their opponents. Hamilton didnt need the F1 title this year, financially speaking, it is just another accolade and he didnt get it, next year is another chance. I find it a bit juvenile if him not to show up, fined rightly so.

This is great, There have been similar threads here before and like them I will be making a donation. A small amount from a lot of people can make a huge difference to a campaign like this.
Its great to see people take action and especially at this time, well done.
