There is no "correct" price for LTC or any cryptocurrency.

If demand grows, price can go up to anything.
If demand shrinks, price can go down to anything.

With more people having access to the LTC market (like over 600,000 people on MtGox) price could go up to anywhere between 5 and 50 Dollars, I guess.

There are now 18.7M LTC vs 11.3M BTC

Smiley

but there is always miners securing the network, which must gain some profit over their utility bills and hardware cost, in fact the network hash rate and the coin price are major factors as well (beside other things) to look at for the success of a coin, this is why BTC is so special. and i believe that LTC will take the same road of BTC, i do not know if it will be as successful as BTC is, but it will have its spot as well
3365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / is it a LTC bubble ? on: June 22, 2013, 01:46:26 PM
some people say that LTC is experiencing a bubble now that MTgox confirmed its implementation in July, I have something to say here, LTC just corrected to where it should be, 3-3.5 $ seems just right and fear for miners.

to remind people back in February march the diff.factor was around 50? or 60, than it was slowely rising to 120, and LTC price did hit 5.9$ now that was a buble and in matter fact it was just riding the BTC bubble.

if the price is not less than 7$ with the given diff.factor than I do not consider it a buble, it is just taking people awareness of its potential.

How this fits here ?
3368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC to MTGOX this July? (maybe for real this time?) on: June 21, 2013, 02:53:33 PM
LTC @ 2.7$

And still not on mtgox Smiley
most people have open orders and for sure doesn't still know about gox news or didn't have the chance to cancel them yet this weekend will be really hot, and when LTC hit gox in July will be even hotter, and the DEV team are doing so much hard work to improve LTC, i see a brilliant future ahead

In order for me to keep my pre-orders Josh is making me do the following:

  • Apologize Publicly for calling Josh and BFL liars
  • Admit "Werner" is a sock puppet account uner my control
  • Apologize for using "Werner" to troll him

Therefore, in the best interest of Cognitive, the people who have purchased pre-orders from me, and myself:

Dear Inaba and BFL:

Sorry for calling you liars. Werner is a sock puppet account under my control. Sorry for utilizing said account to "troll" you.

                                         With regret,
                                                     Garr255

Also, I apologize to all who I may have put risk by speculating that BFL may have been acting in a dishonest fashion. If I had known that the cancellation of orders placed by me would result of this I would not have acted in such a way, as that would be a direct violation of the fiduciary duty imposed on me by handing others' assets.

wow just wow, most people will ask where is you pride, but you just proved that you control your ego, most people will say you are a coward but I think it takes allot of courage to do this.

Josh and BFL employees, regarding these angry people who post all kind of things you do not like, don't you think that this is justified by looking to the fact that your plans went so wrong, your customers had trusted you by putting pre-orders and each time something went wrong you came here and humiliated every one said anything about it ?

So let me get this straight:

You think it's ok to make baseless accusations.
You think it's ok to use a sock puppet account to troll people.
You think it's ok to lie about said socket puppet account and explicitly post a contradictory post when caught in said lie.

Does that about cover it?  If BFL "humiliated everyone said anything about it" this forum would be filled with nothing but BFL posts.  If you want to complain, fine, by all means, have at it... there are many, many posts and threads doing just that.  I tried to help Garr out and got nothing but crap in return, finally culminating in him using a socket puppet account to further troll the situation.  Then, this lovely and incredibly disingenuous apology follows.  Yes, sure.. whatever you say.

The bottom line is, if you want to get unreasonable, we simply don't want to deal with you.  We have our hands full dealing with adult customers who are reasonable, we have no need for unreasonable, irrational customers throwing tantrums and screaming "Me first GIMME GIMME!"

No to be honest, I do not think it is ok, I don't know on which position is the OP that he came out this way, so I will skip this one, but to be fear I believe that whenever an argue/fight/misunderstanding there is always two parts, to clarify my statement I think you both fucked up really, he came back and did apologize which is something great, you tried to help first, but than you used the advantage to manipulate the situation.

there is plenty of jerks and scammers here around, but this doesn't clarify your attitude to customers, and this doesn't clarify the fail of your production plan,  dont forget that without these customers pre-orders and trust you wouldn't start making these products.

BTW I am not a BFL customer neither an ASIC owner, and till this moment I didn't order any ASIC .

3373  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What is your electrical usage per month at your home? When do the cops come?lol on: June 18, 2013, 04:54:14 PM
7000 kWh per month equals ~10kW.

That's not true.

7000 Kwh in 1 month
7000 Kwh in 732 hours
9.56 Kw
956 W not 10kW

Actually he is right, 7000 KWh a month, this means 24 hour x 31 day = 744 hours a month, so 7000/744 ~ 9.4 kwh.

my rigs use around 2.3 - 2.7 KWh and I use around 2300 -2400 KWh a month, so his state is just about right

I've got confused when I've just saw the numbers they were posting , I've thought they were talking about the hourly average of there rigs, but they are posting the average that they use the hole month
3374  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What is your electrical usage per month at your home? When do the cops come?lol on: June 18, 2013, 11:04:02 AM
Ah OK, they were posting the sum of K.watts they've used the hole month, I've thought that was the hourly average use, I just went full retard. Sorry  Smiley
3375  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What is your electrical usage per month at your home? When do the cops come?lol on: June 18, 2013, 09:38:51 AM
I see people reporting 3500 KW/h and others 7000 KH/h, this is just impossible, I work in production and the biggest machine doesn't use that much power and believe me it is so huge and complicated.

I think most people wanted to say 3.5KW/h or 3500W/h not 3500KW/h = 3.5 mega watt an hour

1 kWh = 1000 W for one hour = 3 600 000 joule. It's a unit of energy, and it's also how an electric power bill is quantified.

You are the one who introduced "KW/h", which is just confusing.

yes you are right i should write 3500KWh, but how do you translate 7000KW an hour ? this has to be a farm with at least  23000 x ATI 7970, otherwise what I've wrote was just right, I will just fix that KW/h  Wink

Chaang,

We made it pretty clear in the development fund thread, that the LTC received will be used in a responsible way. All the current LTC devs are in constant contact with each other. And we all have to agree to something before the funds are used. And every expense is laid out in the public.

There is no secret deal. We have not made any deals with anyone that would unfairly influence the direction of the project. Each one of us are adamant about this point. The large mysterious donor just wanted to help out our cause and did not want his identity known. Is that a crime? No. Does that mean he has a secret influence on us? No!

It is true that I was preoccupied with RL a year ago and let Litecoin development slip. Greedi took advantage of that and tried to claim himself to be the lead developer of Litecoin. I was not aware of that. Did he ask for donation and did you donate to him? I'm sorry for your lost LTC. But you could have easily done your due diligence before donating. I was still available via PM on bitcointalk. If I had received a PM from you saying that "Greedi is claiming to be the lead developer of Litecoin. Is that true?", I would have come back sooner to clean house. The second I found out Greedi was overstepping, I took cared of it.

If you wanted to donate to help improve Litecoin, then please donate to the development fund that all the LTC devs agreed to use. If you want to donate to a single person, feel free to do that in private. But publicly donating to 2 of the devs seems a bit manipulative. And that's why aspect called you out on it.

You guys can say what ever you want, I still think my comments are pointless and only serves the purpose of bumping this thread to max the attention a good drama brings.

Joking aside, some drama is actually refreshing read (instead of "new alt coin released"). Especially since all participants in this one are prominent people.

We want to reward positive work. We gave to the last dev fund and it was umm... lost.

We can give to who ever we want it is our money.  Aspect caused the drama. He could have politly declined.

I will tell you again, aspect freaked out, I think it was an overreaction but he has totally the right to do so , the way you stated things was really wrong, now every one is watching, if you have good attention of all this especially now , you just donate the 2K to the Address in the original fund raising thread and let Dev's decide between each-other. you just can add a note that you wish this LTC goes to X and Y, and let X and Y decide whether take it or leave it for the development  .

I honestly thought be knew. I understand he did not and his reaction is reasonable.

Sadly our org took almost a week to agree to give the ltc the way it wanted to.

Also it did so cuz the last lead dev stole the ltc. We want to pay for work done.

I wouldn't worry about someone stealing the donation really, let them discuss this between each-other, your 2K could bring the Dev team to reach the goal to claim the 5K LTC reward, and let the Devs decide who deserve what and how much any one deserves, because they only know what every one is doing and how much is every one contributing, it is just not right to decide for whom the donation should go.
