I'm actively looking in to this atm & should know more in the next couple of weeks.

Quote:

Hi Redacted,

I’d be happy to discuss further with you.    Do you want to have an initial phone conversation first?    I don’t want to scare you off, but I want to ensure you are comfortable with our firm’s fees (i.e. they just raised my rate to $720/hr) and we would likely need a $10,000 retainer to get started.

Feel free to give me a call to discuss.  I’m  generally around tomorrow morning and then on the 30th and 31st of December.

I look forward to speaking with you,

Best,

Redacted

I know you are a trustworthy individual but no matter how honest you are and/or who is on charge of BTCguild or any other large pool (Ghash.IO) this is not how things meant to be, this is against the Bitcoin concept of decentralization and taking the trust from individuals and organizations and putting it on a distributed network....

if we will start feeling comfortable about BTCguild or any other pool getting bigger and bigger than we better cash the BTC and put the money in a Bank, at least if the bank get robbed the government will pay us back some of the loss....

This argument would make sense if I was doing something to try to lure users in.  Reduced fees (or 0%), promotional events, referrals, etc.  BTC Guild's entire business is based on providing superior service, and in return it charges what I would consider a reasonable fee.  BTC Guild has been shrinking, though that's mostly due to ghash.io's private farm which is roughly 10% of the network if not a little more.  I'm not trying to claw it back in any way, and have made changes in the past to purposely push hashing power off of the pool when it was getting too large.

you can always close registration..... we have to stop finding excuses instead of solutions, although I am sure that Ghash.IO is the biggest threat to the network, but the concept of Bitcoin should be respected by everyone regardless how trustworthy they are..

what does organofcoti say about this? i highly doubt its 100% true

Voodah, it's just "luck". They're legit and never cheated.

I sincerely hope both of you guys are right..!

I don't really enjoy this at all, and know, calling this out can generate a certain level of hatred by some.

Still, I think we need more transparency.

I'd recommend reading up on things before coming to conclusions and pointing fingers.  What you posted is in no way unusual.

Additionally, selfish mining doesn't apply to BTC Guild.  As posted above, Selfish Mining is GUARANTEED to noticeably increase the number or orphans on the network.  This not only makes it obvious its being done, but BTC Guild *pays for orphans* when its blocks are orphaned.  BTC Guild would actually become unprofitable if I ever attempted to do selfish mining because of that simple fact.

boste zvedli kdaj...

2411  Economy / Speculation / Re: India is officialy out of Bitcoin for the foreseeable future on: December 31, 2013, 12:23:40 AM
About India I don't understand the problem.

Let's say I'm an indian and want into bitcoin.
What's stopping me from putting money into an exchange using an overseas money order or paypal or whatever?
What can the Indian government do to stop me?

I can understand that using bitcoin in everyday life won't be possible but as an investment it could be viable.

Just my 2 cents...

Ok let me make it simpler to you.... you are not an Indian and stop pretending being one ahahahahaha, I am just kidding Wink
2412  Economy / Speculation / Re: REAL market traders... are they here...? on: December 31, 2013, 12:11:44 AM
yes there is a "Pro trader" that visit this sub-forum, you should watch his movements and listen to every move and analyze, he also have a "club" of multi-millionaire investors...

he talks about how many millions he has made and what kind of cigars he smokes and fancy car he drives so I guess that give some credibility to his posts and predictions Wink

this is his profile, watch his posts and keep us updated about taking his advises....     https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=68520
2413  Economy / Speculation / Re: India is officialy out of Bitcoin for the foreseeable future on: December 31, 2013, 12:05:53 AM
anyone thought that India is a big player was just wrong really, why I am not surprised by that ? well the Indian government doesn't really have the infrastructure to regulate Bitcoin, last thing we want at this stage is Bitcoin associated with a terrorist act, than you really know what uncle Sam will think about that.

although I know that the regulation thing is a bit harsh, because people in India mostly need Bitcoin read here  http://www.siliconindia.com/finance/news/50-Percent-of-Indians-Dont-Have-a-Simple-Savings-Bank-Account--nid-149759.html

it doesn't make sense but there is allot of things needs to be figured out, at this point Bitcoin still have a long way to go...

2416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 30, 2013, 09:36:24 PM
Guys I didn't check the mining forum for a while now, allot of ASIC companies are around now, I know that this is the KNC thread so I was looking at Neptune (2nd batch) and I am not sure about buying, I don't know about all the companies that will be shipping soon neither the expected diff when KNC ships the 2nd batch but I want to know what do you think? is it worth it now to buy a KNC miner ? do you recommend another company (that will really ship and PLZ not BFL) and what is the expected diff rise till then ?

I didn't buy an ASIC miner I just held to my BTC (best decision ever) but now that ASIC chips are available and there is so much competition is it worth re-consideration ?
2417  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 30, 2013, 08:54:28 PM
[trolling]

Dear bears!

what Makes you sure that the price will drop ? don't give me the "comparing with the last few crashes" because it is different every time, and every crash lasted less than the one before it, so I am really curious did you dump your coins already ? maybe I am wrong, so this is why I have Fiat sitting in my stamp account now, please dump your coins and crash the price because this is the only way price will crash, and I will make sure to get a piece of them.

[/trolling]

No seriously, it is a real small volume to judge from....I think the price is not moving because whoever believes that the price is going to crash has sold and who ever think the price will go up has already bought add to all that is we are in a time of holidays..

to be honest I did add some cash to my account just in case, I don't want to invest more money in Bitcoin but I don't want to miss the chance if there will be a big drop ....

2418  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 40-60GH/s complete Bitburner XX 8-board tower Bitcoin Bitcoins ASIC Avalon miner on: December 30, 2013, 01:17:20 PM
Just 3 more hours ... current bid us$610 for an eight bitburner XX tower, 40-60GH/s, including a Raspberry Pi, a power distribution board and a 850W PSU.

8 boars each hashing at 40 GH/s I don't really get it ?  or there is something wrong with the 8 boards and they are totaling 40 GH/s, I am really interested I need the answer ASAP as the auction will end soon
2419  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 30, 2013, 12:37:44 PM
Holy crap, we broke through the 20btc wall at 810.

2420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Welcome to the new Bitcoin forum! on: December 30, 2013, 10:43:03 AM
"BittBurger was here"

Time capsule thread?  Hope so.

Remember all the trash talkers (they're still alive and well at this date).  Remember those who said this would never amount to anything.  The erroneous ponzi scheme analogies.  Tulips.  Beanie Babies.  My friends and family making fun of me at every moment possible.  My financial adviser calling me crazy.  The "all-knowing" old school economists, stock guys, day traders, bankers, and pretty much anyone with any education in the obsolete financial realm saying "Bitcoin will fail".  Journalists writing confused, misinformed articles with comments sections below full of mysteriously enraged Bitcoin detractors.  Meanwhile those with eyes to see, as of December 2013 ... propagating this new technology around the world.  International conferences being held nearly every month. Investors ... entrepreneurs ... opportunists ... the greedy ... the intelligent ... the libertarians ... the crypto anarchists ... the cypher punks ... building the foundation for a paradigm shift that will change this world. Core groups of people meeting old school in public places to exchange, trade, and buy and sell.  A grass roots movement in its truest form.

This is Bitcoin as of December 2013.  What will it be 10 years from now?

Thank you Satoshi.

what Satoshi invented can not simply be canceled, they can argue that Bitcoin as a currency might fail! but the Block chain is that thing that wont fail, block chain is the greatest invention or innovation after internet , they can ignore it or laugh at it they can try to fight it but they can not uninvent it, Bitcoin is already changing the way how we think about technology, democracy, economic, and is a hell of experiment....

Thank you satoshi who ever you are I wish a good luck...
