3361  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we agree BTC is not a store of value? on: March 25, 2020, 09:21:42 PM
How do you decide if something is store of value or not? I mean do you look at it during bad times only? Do you look at it over time only? What makes something just a store of value thing? Look at gold for example, it literally dropped during this period and it is widely regarded as the most store of value thing in the world.

People literally buy grams of gold all around the world for store of value and in case anything goes bad, that's GLOBAL, we are talking about trillions of dollars. So, if you think bitcoin is not a store of value because of the drop we had this month, do you also think that gold is not one as well? I doubt anyone could say that. In all regards bitcoin IS a store of value, just not all the time and also not as commonly known as gold, that's it.
Bitcoin may not be a store of value for the present time because the government are still crashing into fiat for basic purposes. But i believe soon it will be a good store of value when all countries take part in using it as a currency just like what they did when fiat currency was still newly introduced.
3362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency during this pandemic on: March 25, 2020, 01:05:10 PM
No one can really sure the future of crypto. Before so many have been positive during the bitcoin halving on May, but with the insertion of this pandemic virus, I think everythint change that. Stocks and even lots of business around everywhere are now falling down, and many people are suffering from huge loss and even needed to provide cash for supplies needed for this mess. Crypto isnt exempted from this, nothing safe now but staying at home. Avoid being contact with this virus at all cost.
Start saving your life by staying at home so you can stop spreading of virus worldwide. And cryptocurrency isn't an exemption because with the ongoing pandemic virus, crypto community is already experiencing a huge loss brought by covid 19. Crypto enthusiasts are greatly affected that made them decide to sell their coins for fiat just to provide the basic needs of their loved ones.
3363  Other / Off-topic / Re: To help at this covid-19 time includes landlords cutting down rents for tenants on: March 25, 2020, 12:33:59 PM
The Covid -19 epidemic is causing a serious shut down of the economy worldwide. This is really serious that it is causing fear and attendant hardship.

I was thinking it would be nice to also show a measure of help to people inhabiting your premises and properties. You can support them in terms of cutting down their rent payment for this season that they stayed isolated at least they were unproductive especially those whose livelihood requires them to go out daily for "daily bread".

I heard some governments are supporting with feeding but I think individuals too can support by cutting down rent at this time that your tenant is unproductive.

From today our city ( whole country is also locked down) is locked down for 10  days and the government has declared general leave for the employers of Govt and non Govt institutions. Few land lords has cut down monthly rent of March. Others should do this noble action now for the shake of humanity. We are now locked at home from today. I will pray for the whole human being that may Allah save us from this Corona Virus.
Tenants will surely appreciate if all landlords will learn to consider helping their tenants through giving them a one month free rental. Majority of the people today are facing financial crisis particularly for those who make living outside their homes so it will be a big help for them if landlords will be considerate this time.
3364  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you think this is a good strategy ? on: March 25, 2020, 12:07:11 PM
Usually, people using stop loss are at a lower price than the purchase, if it is put at the same price as the purchase, it will be easier to sell and will waste a lot of trading costs. Should consider stop loss to be important.
Setting stop loss will ensure that you are not losing as long as the price starts to increase. Your idea is already good enough and if you keep on doing this, you will really make profits. But i suggest to hold your coins a longer time because there are high chances that you will gain more once you see the market keeps on pumping.
3365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Covid-19 Question on: March 24, 2020, 03:26:46 PM
Coronavirus keeps getting outta hands in countries like Italy and France and others, things keep getting worse with the disease every day but I surprised me is the affectionate to crypto, it seems to stop affecting crypto already what do you think?

Corona Virus is now rapidly spreading its dangerous effects on the all countries of the world where all countries are affected. Italy, China, France and Iran are the most affected countries so far. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are now on very risky position. Everyday it is spreading its affect on more and more people in the South Asia. This corona effects are on the crypto market also and price became worse than in the past few months. We have to face this situation in the next few weeks.
It's not totally corona virus that has made the market dumped but we can't deny that this virus has made a negative huge effect on the crypto market. Investors are doing panic selling of their coins for fiat so they can also provide their family with basic supplies at home. Other investors too are also making use of crypto to purchase goods using digital transactions because paper money too is a big threat that has made the virus spread fast because corona virus has been detected that they are also living in paper money.
3366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: High rewards still possible in bounties? on: March 24, 2020, 02:55:15 PM
Is high rewards like 350,000$ for bounty hunters still possible this days? I know it's all down to the success of the project but is this still achievable? How many successful projects with such reward paid hunters since 2018 that you know?

The Ico Hype is no longer the same. The amount of successful ICOs is now very low. And those who succeed are not exempt from any community. 2017 was a time when all ico would have been successful. And now the situation is very bad. Many good projects are not successful. So it is not right to expect like 2017.
Yes. Bounty campaigns are not that profitable anymore just like in 2017 where many projects have successfully ended and bounty hunters have gained much. What we have at the present are bounties that only pay us a low amount. Those bounties that promised to pay high rewards are most likely have become scams in the end. High rewards for bounties might be possible again in the future if the market becomes stable too.
3367  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is better than Holding on: March 23, 2020, 03:14:45 PM
All will be better from the side of others, trading and holding are good things in each situation. To hold it really must choose the right coins, like bitcoin and ethereum for me both suitable for trading and also for holding

You are right. Trading and holding will have the advantages and disadvantages, and that will depend on the coin that we want to trade and hold. If we can get the right coin, we will make a big profit in trading and holding. But in trading, we will have so many potential coins if we can search at the market, and we can analyze one by one. That will give you the profit, but if you decide to hold, make sure you hold the right coin and try to avoid holding a new coin that you don't know for sure.
Holding and trading are both profitable if you end up with those good and potential coins. But trading requires more knowledge and skills so you will know the best trading entry especially that the market keeps on crashing. Yes, trading can give us more profits compared to holding but there are also high chances of losing if we are not sure of our decisions.
3368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice to everyone today on: March 23, 2020, 10:07:58 AM
I dont think that we really need to withdraw cash right now. This only makes situation worse
Why not? everyone has different needs, right? Regardless of the panic or not, we are in an unstable economic situation, the global pandemic effect is quite alarming, so most people would choose to secure their finances for more priority living needs such as meeting basic needs and supporting health rather than investment. So do your best to be able to maintain a stable life and try which is more important first.
It's very difficult today facing this pandemic corona virus without your money on hand to secure the basic necessities of your family. Crypto may be a good option as an investment but what people badly needed today is fiat to survive from this economic crisis while everyone here is experiencing lockdown.
3369  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin is made for times like these why is everyone selling at a time like.. on: March 23, 2020, 09:39:27 AM
It is made for times like this but it is still early and Bitcoin or crypto isn't accepted by everyone yet.
We still couldn't use it to pay for everything we would need that is why they are selling it,
But if they could use it to pay for their food, medicine and bills then I don't see the point in selling it.
If we could only use it that way then for sure it would be the other way around it would drive the price up.
Bitcoin will only become useful in times like these if its already accepted as a global currency. People are not yet ready even bitcoin itself to use it as a payment system. People are selling this time because it's their own way of accumulating more bitcoins while they are still in dips and hold them until the price starts to pump.
3370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The door is never closed to new traders on: March 23, 2020, 05:00:07 AM
The door will never be closed for the new traders, trading is a source free for everyone, the more the merrier it is something like that, but always remember that trading is not really a simple thing so before you do trading you should first do some research about it because being known about it would be a big advantage for you.

Trading is somehow related to investing because you should look or analyze the market because that is really important for you to know if you may earn from doing that both.
Trading is very open for new comers but i believe trading is not for everyone especially for those who don't have discipline when trading. Good timing is very important also when it comes to trading so you will know when is the best time to enter trading and when it's not the right timing. But with thorough research and learning in trading, you will develop your own strategies in trading and make profits no matter the market is bullish or bearish.
3371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers always make use of advantages on: March 23, 2020, 04:19:27 AM
A crisis is always golden time for scammers, when people are scare and panic, they're easier to make a donation to make they feel better, without check legit of the donation. I saw many threads about a new scam coin named coronacoin. They are attacking Bitcointalk, if you see a thread like that, report it.
With corona virus outbreak we have right now, it would give more opportunities for scammers to steal the money of people without their awareness. So we should be more responsible in taking care of our properties not to be deceived from those people who pretend to be charity staffs. If we want to donate cash, we can go personally to the charity intended for it and not just trust easily what we see in the internet.
3372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ways to recover from being addicted in gambling. on: March 21, 2020, 09:28:49 AM
i don't have gambling addiction but probably one solution for those with such case is to keep them busy and gradually replace their habit by something else like gardening.

LOL, I wish everyone had that kind of interest, in my part, I am not a kind of guy who loves gardening, other than gambling, my interest is just to go out with friends and socialize with other people. Your suggestion is kinda weird for me, sorry, no offence.  Grin
3373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency do you use for gambling frequently? on: March 21, 2020, 08:46:46 AM
I still use bitcoin in my gambling needs, actually I am not heavily affected even if bitcoin will dump 30% a day as I don't gamble a lot of money in gambling, and we also have to consider that bitcoin pump so it's an even situation, and if you have been cashing in and out in a daily basis, I think you'll not affected much with the high volatility.
3374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New coin for coronavirus on: March 20, 2020, 07:37:11 PM
There are people who will take advantage of almost everything even if it's meant to destroy their reputation as long as they get what they wanted. Ignore this coin, I've seen viral news some people will make use of it just for the sake of fame and money they were the worst kind of opportunistic being in the world. No matter what they do, Bitcoin will never be beaten by these newcomers.
Of course, this viral coin is not supposed to lasts long because this is made by those opportunists around who have no conscience because they are only concerned with the money they are making. Developers of this coin are just making the advantage while everyone else here is terribly in a bad condition.
3375  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona has killed economy of many businesses on: March 20, 2020, 07:15:55 PM
Indeed the reality is like that, an economic crisis occurred because some businesses suffered losses due to the effects of
the corona virus. I am who have a business in the food sector affected by the corona virus, were forced to close my business.
Because my country's government does lock down for two weeks. If the corona virus is not immediately stopped its will be
very dangerous for the world economy. It can even increase poverty, because many business owners go bankrupt.
We maybe owners of businesses or just simply consumers, we have no control of the situation so we should know how to abide with the rules of the government. It's not totally bad if our businesses were killed at the moment but atleast we still have chances to get back once this virus will be totally killed making the flow of the market gets normal again.
3376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The bounty group is dead on: March 20, 2020, 06:57:48 PM
I'm not sure why some of the lists you mentioned are inactive, maybe they have left the bounty because of the many scam projects and very cheap prices or indeed they are
The reason they are inactive is maybe they have formed new group of bounties today and those mentioned are just the old ones. They are not dead because they are still active today but with new groups already. And maybe some of them have left the group because of such scamming happening nowadays.
3377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's just the beginning on: March 20, 2020, 01:32:18 PM
Crypto will be the biggest thing to focus on from now on because Bitcoin is recovering an stock market is not, once many witnessed this they will finally understand what crypto is capable of, for all of you saying it's the end, well it's just the beginning

I will not generally term this as the beginning, lets just say bitcoin has been doing well for a long time now and it's peak is even closer to us

If you see anyone say the end of bitcoin is near just know that its a fud news to scare you
For those who have not known bitcoin for a long time, people will feel dismayed when its price dumps. But for people like us, we are used to it and we know already that bitcoin will surge again the next day. It's really worth the wait if you invested in bitcoin even if how many times it will fall, it will recover its price again and may even reach another all time high.
3378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does anyone pay for slandering gambling websites on Bitcointalk? on: March 20, 2020, 02:03:41 AM
I believe there are gambling sites who pays people to destroy their competitor.

The logic is very simple, when your competitor goes down, you are likely to go up, so they'll invest for that while they also continue their aggressive marketing to retain old clients and to attract the new.

It's hard to determine if people are paid or not to slander a certain gambling site, but I believe its happening.
3379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play gambling that require skills and techniques. on: March 20, 2020, 01:25:01 AM
Really the only skill I could see useful in gambling would be card counting. It's not really that hard to learn, you can use it with basic blackjack strategy along with a betting routine of amping up bets when the decks are warming up and slowing down bet sizes when the deck is cold. Still, you would need a major bankroll of 1k-10k to even be profitable above a normal job. Also, a lot of casinos frown upon this and they will bounce you if they catch on! They are in business to make money, not lose it to card counters, lol.

I've seen movies like that about card counting, though that skills is good and can give you money but that is illegal in casinos, you'll face the biggest consequences if you caught doing that as its like cheating, give something that would not harm you using your skills, like sports betting, if you are good enough, you'll continue making money and no one will hurt you.
3380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are your safe haven now? on: March 19, 2020, 11:01:04 PM
there is no safe haven at the moment, in crypto, or investment altogether, since everything is going down, and all investors are reaching for cash, and will decide about investment opportunities later, i do not remember situation like this in last fifteen years, since i am investing money
Crypto coins are not really a safe haven since we are investing here with much risks. But when it comes to finding those highly potentialed coins, i choose bitcoin and ethereum since they have performed well in the market and always seen to recover their prices again and even reach new all time high when the market becomes stable.
