Back then no one really cared about the pace bowlers. For home test matches, India used to pick three spinners (in most cases, Kumble/Harbhajan/Murali Kartik) and just one pace bowler (usually Srinath, and later Zaheer Khan). Things started to change around 15 years ago, when more emphasis was given to winning matches abroad. During recent times, I have seen India going with 3 pace bowlers even for the home matches.
Asian country's pitch are more convenient for spinnr bowler . They get some extra advantage . They can take some more wickets than pace bowlers. You will see that most of the successful bowlers of India, Pakistan ,Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are spinners. It is foolish for them to have 3 pace bowlers  in a home match . Because they do not have a good pace bowler like England and Australia and secondly the pitch is helpful for spinners

Not all of the grounds. In India, there are grounds such as Mohali and Dharamshala, which offer enough support for the pace bowlers. Same can be said about some of the grounds in Pakistan and Dambulla ground in Sri Lanka. I was not claiming that India usually includes three pacers in all of their home matches. I was just saying that it has happened a few times. Usually India plays their home matches in turning tracks, as their main spinner (Ravichandran Ashwin) loses his venom in other type of surfaces.

^^^^ After the collapse and disintegration of the USSR, the Chinese realized that Communism is not the way forward. The current economic system in China is not Communist and it is more in line with a capitalist system. All that said, there have been no change in the political system. The communist party still rules the country in an authoritarian manner. They just separated the economy from the political system.

So when is the next international test match will be played ?

What is the schedule of test matches after the AFG vs AUS (postponed) test ?
Is there any more tests scheduled for this year or we have to wait for 2021 ?

Bangladesh is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka next month, but there are some issues between the BCB and the SLCB regarding quarantine requirement and training schedule. If the tour goes ahead, then the two teams would play three test matches, with the first one scheduled for the last week of October and the remaining two scheduled for November. Bangladesh has already named the preliminary squad for the tour.

No Chris Gayle is not in injury .Reason that he is not playing is The change in captaincy and coaching staff are of course reasons behind Gayle's absence from the playing XI. Hope Gayle will be on the playing xi very soon.

It will be difficult to include him, as I have already posted.

I would like Chris Gayle included in the playing XI for Kings XI Punjab. He can form a good pair with KL Rahul. Even during the last match, none of the KXIP batsmen gave enough support to Rahul (apart from Mayank Agarwal). But I am not 100% sure about Gayle's inclusion. They can include only 4 overseas players and for the last match they had Maxwell, Pooran, Neesham and Cottrell. They are definitely not going to drop Maxwell, Pooran and Cottrell. That means Neesham may be dropped for today's match.

BTW, there are some rumors floating around that the Kings XI Punjab would exchange him for Varun Aaron from the Royal Challengers Bangalore. It looks like a good deal for both the teams. RCB desperately need an opener who can blast the bowlers, and the KXIP needs a pace bowler who can bowl in excess of 90 mph (to provide support to Mohammed Shami).
3385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vietnam bursts an illegal casino who used to handle bets worth $3 billions on: September 28, 2020, 03:01:56 AM
Not really. Because I am sure illegal offline gambling places will always be there. The illegal casino will slip around out from the government without the government's can find those places. The illegal casino is like a mafia, they can operate in any places without guessing, and only a few people know that.

But if the government caught the illegal casino, they will force the casino to become legal so that the government can watch their operations, and of course, the government can get taxes from them.

Illegal casinos mostly exist in places where gambling is banned. And in most cases, they have support from the corrupt officials and politicians. If they are caught, then the operators would go to jail and all the money and equipment will be seized and confiscated. In places where casinos are allowed to operate, it will be unusual to find the illegal ones operating.

The lack of match winning bowlers outside India was the main reason India had a terrible record outside India, India always had great batsman throughout history and India was always a great team in India on the strength of its spinners but over seas you need genuine pace or swing bowlers to pick wickets.

Back then no one really cared about the pace bowlers. For home test matches, India used to pick three spinners (in most cases, Kumble/Harbhajan/Murali Kartik) and just one pace bowler (usually Srinath, and later Zaheer Khan). Can't believe that they reached almost 200 in 19 overs and just need 24 runs more. The way Samson played was marvelous and they did not even lose many wickets. Just hope they do not do any mistake now and comfortably the required number of runs.

Yup.. simply unbelievable. Highest run chase in the history of the Indian Premier League and RR has won this match. At one point, they needed around 16 runs per over. And yet they managed to win the match. The 18th over was just unbelievable. Sheldon Cottrell went for 30 runs per over (5 sixes from 6 balls, all of them hit by Rahul Tewatia). This was the most unreal match I ever watched in the IPL.

3388  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: September 27, 2020, 05:42:17 PM
Yeah it might the case that cyber criminals love crypto currencies but for the average criminal the education in IT and internet issue is probably very low and they will not trust any cryptos. I would assume that they will value cash always the highest, because they can see and touch it. Also when paying with cash you are more independent. When paying with cprytos you need internet access and government might track you.

That's right. Using cryptocurrency is one thing, and staying anonymous while using cryptocurrency is another. The ordinary criminals may jump in to use Bitcoin or Monero. But he may not be able to convert these cryptocurrencies to fiat or other physical assets. And he may not be able to keep his cryptocurrency transactions secure (i.e without any links that can be traced back).
3389  Economy / Economics / Re: I have discovered Something about covid 19 on: September 27, 2020, 05:32:15 PM
It's not smoke and mirrors and it has nothing to do with debt. India and Brazil both have a good chance to pass the US in number of cases. India due to population density presenting a giant risk to the country and the total population gives a lot more potential infections, and Brazil because they have an idiotic leader who downplays the virus and is more content to ignore it than try to prevent the spread of it (shares this in common with the US, but more at risk I would say due to economic and structural weaknesses in the government compared to the US).

Brazil is the worst example. The president (Jair Bolsonaro) even refused to acknowledge the seriousness of the pandemic in the beginning. Even when the death toll crossed into tens of thousands, he refused to declare a nation-wide lockdown. On the other hand, India was among the first countries to declare a nation-wide lockdown. And it helped them in slowing down the spread (at least during the initial phase).
3390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 27, 2020, 05:22:15 PM
As I had posted earlier, the decision to send Tewatia ahead of Curran and Uthappa has most probably cost Rajasthan Royals this match. At least Tewatia could have made sure that Sanju Samson gets the majority of the strike. Rather than doing that he was taking single of the last ball, to keep Samson away from strike. It can't get any more pathetic than this.
3391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Dade to open Casinos and Restaurants for the third time. on: September 27, 2020, 05:12:03 PM
Yup, it varies from country to country and in my country, we have the longest lockdown so we really need to get right back up.

Lockdown is only useful in slowing the spread of the virus. Now it is hardly of any use, because the virus has reached almost all the cities and the villages. The precautions need to be taken by the individuals and lockdown measures will be of limited use. I would rather ask the government to remove all the lockdown restrictions. Those who want to remain at home can continue to do so.
3392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 27, 2020, 05:00:39 PM
But they don't find anything wrong in hosting Indian team for full 3 months? I don't mind if they postpone ODI but postponing test against the Afghans is not good move.

It has to do with the length of the tour as well. The Indian tour lasts a few months and therefore the extra spending is justified. On the other hand, it is not financially viable for Cricket Australia to spend so much on logistics just for one test and a few T20 matches. And as far as I know, they are not cancelling the series. They are just planning to postpone the matches by a few months.
3393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 27, 2020, 04:50:30 PM
Looks like we both are going to lose lol

224 runs to chase and usually the team chasing 200+ runs loses the match. I guess I need a break after 3rd loss Cheesy

Still hoping Smith can save the match else things looking too bad this time.

RR needs 119 from 10 overs. And the required rate has almost touched 2 runs per ball. It is going to be tough. Steve Smith and Buttler are gone. Samson is still there, but he needs support from the middle order. Rahul Tewatia just wasted a number of balls, and this is what they don't need right now. It was a real blunder to send him ahead of Tom Curran and Robin Uthappa.
3394  Economy / Economics / Re: US economy will continue to recover - Powell on: September 27, 2020, 01:47:23 PM
Even if the US can borrow huge amounts of money, that will not be the solution to prevent the crisis. I think the US government still figure out how to stimulate the economy to grow as before. The US's impact happens to all countries, and besides searching for the way to solve the economic crises, the government is trying to work hard to prevent the new case. It still needs time to recovery everything, including the economy, even if the vaccine is found. I think that the US will use tight regulations in any sector to prevent the situation from getting worst.

A ballooning federal debt can benefit none. It is true that the US can borrow money with relative ease, but in the end this is not a viable solution. Trump came to power in 2016, promising not to increase the federal debt. He was unable to keep that promise. It looks as if he has done even worse than Obama. Till now, Trump has added close to $4 trillion as federal debt.

3395  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Presidential Election: Trump Will Not Commit to Peaceful Transfer of Power on: September 27, 2020, 01:25:18 PM
Hillary Clinton also said to Joe Biden that under no circumstances should he concede the election. Biden has also hired a mega team of lawyers that will absolutely file a lawsuit on election day to keep counting mail in ballots if he isn't determined the clear and obvious winner.

Oh.. I got it.

It is going to be a repeat of the 2008 United States Senate election in Minnesota. It happened 12 years ago, but the dramatics are still fresh in my mind.  Grin

The GOP candidate (Norm Coleman) had won the election in the first count. Then mysteriously, "uncounted" ballots (obviously all in favor of the Democrat candidate Al Franken) were being "discovered" in dust bins, gyms, fast food stores.etc. A Democrat official infamously stated that "we will count and count until Franken wins". And in the end, Franken was declared the winner, after sufficient number of "uncounted" ballots were produced.
3396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A woman has been arrested in the United States for hiring a killer with bitcoin on: September 27, 2020, 01:11:27 PM
It is difficult to believe these "stories". Can anyone be so dumb to actually hire a murderer for just $5,000? I still remember the case of Ross William Ulbricht. The FBI wanted to make sure that he remains behind bars for the rest of his life and it is being alleged that they created some fake web chats showing that he hired contract killers to take down his competitors. It is very easy to create fake web chats.

Gayle is going to play tonight's match? Expecting to see him in the place of Robbie.Overall KXIP also won against RCB over big margin of 97 runs so both teams are in good form so I guess toss will be a key in this match. But I feel team batting at the first innings are reaping more wins since the season started so the conditions are not really affecting the results?

I would like Chris Gayle included in the playing XI for Kings XI Punjab. He can form a good pair with KL Rahul. 3398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia is proposing a new law to declare cryptowallets or be fined, go to jail on: September 27, 2020, 12:52:20 PM
Once again, unsubstantiated rumors. A few days back there was a flood of threads here claiming that India is going to ban cryptocurrency. It continued, even after I posted here and clarified that no such law is scheduled to be discussed during the current parliament session (as per the documents released by the government of India). I have noticed a huge increase in the FUD levels during the last 1-2 months. Something fishy is definitely going on. Whales seems to be accumulating BTC, after manipulating the exchange rates.
3399  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Not your keys, not your Crypto – Kucoin Hacked! $150m Stolen. on: September 27, 2020, 12:32:25 PM
I lost coins when BTC-E was hacked a few years ago. Actually, it may not have been hacked because so many people believe that the owner stole the percentage of coins for himself. It is all the exchanges' responses to keep coins safe. the list of hacked exchanges is getting bigger over time. This is a huge problem for users and I believe exchanges should invest more in security and put more effort to protect the users. It's an additional investment for them but without that, they will not survive.

Baseless accusation.

I also lost large amounts of funds with BTC-e (mostly Litecoins), but the owners did whatever they could to reimburse the users. There was some mistake from their part. When the US authorities asked them to hand over user data, they refused and instead challenged them to close down the exchange. After a few months, the Americans actually managed to seize the BTC-e domain and a large part of the funds. The owners still refused to accept their defeat. They set up a new website (Wex.nz) and reimbursed the users with tokens. And they once again challenged the authorities and mocked them. The next time, the Americans not just managed to seize the funds, but they also managed to arrest one of the owners of BTC-e (Alexander Vinnik). And that was the end of BTC-e, which existed from 2011 to 2017.

So you think Chennai lost his match deliberately as Ms Dhoni & co has fixed this match ?  Although people here on this forum will say No, but i would say that things are not so transparent and teams will be involved in match fixing in such a tournament where few loses wont matter much but money gain from these match fixing is enormous.

It will be ridiculous to even imagine that Dhoni would do something like that. The CSK owners were earlier accused in match-fixing and they received a 2-year suspension for that. But don't blame the players for what the management does. Ideally they could have sent in Sam Curran, who scored quick runs in the previous games. Instead they sent players such as Ruturaj Gaikwad and Kedar Jadhav. This blunder cost them 2 points.
