3381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the martingale system sucks! (doubling down on losses) on: June 12, 2021, 03:50:11 PM
The worst thing that happens with the martingale is that, especially if you start with a large bankroll, you create that false perception of security that the OP talks about and that is nothing but the psychological mechanism that then leads one to lose everything he has.
So, once and for all, absolutely avoid the martingale as a strategy.

Avoid it if you don't have the discipline, but the fact that you have a huge bankroll should mean you are also ready to lose your entire bankroll when you get a cold streak, well, it could happen in gambling so be realistic with that.

This kind of bankroll management is very risky, it's a high-risk strategy that could make us stop as soon as it consumes our entire bankroll.

Actually, I also got busted many times in the past using this strategy, but I'm still using it but not completely the martingale method.

Sports betting design looks neat. I just wish the matches aren't placed on different pages. In UFC 263 for example, there are 14 matches to bet on but you need to open 3 pages just to see them all (6 matches per page). 14 isn't that long and all can be placed in the first page.

How about a little write up on how the quick bet works? I was just trying to figure it out but I ended up placing $1 bet Grin Now I'm thinking of cancelling it and cash out $0.92 losing $0.08 in the process.

I've never used any betting in anywhere before so i don't know how is betfury compared to others, but from the looks of it it's clean and even first timer like me knows how to make bets so i guess it's well designed.

Now if i only knew anything about sports i might bet. But yeah, i don't follow any.

There's no harm in trying, but at least you need to love sports in order to appreciate sports betting.

Looking at the odds and compared it to other sites, i think they have decent odds.

For example game 3 between the Clippers and Jazz.

BetFury.io Clippers 1.54 Jazz 2.65
site A                    1.50        2.65
site B                    1.48        2.60

3383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will TRX go to new ATH on: June 12, 2021, 02:21:17 PM
With the hard work of justin sun then the price of TRX will reach the highest price for this year let alone there are some kompotisi that will be done then the achievement of the new ATH will be easy to happen, So to invest in TRX is currently the right choice and do not hesitate with the current state of the market because it is in decline but I believe this only happens temporarily.

The hard work of Justin Sun has to be reflected in the price of TRX in a positive way.

Unfortunately, as of now, TRX has still not yer its ATH and since the market is going bearish, it's hard to expect it will reach this year.
However, since the team is working, we should not lose hope here, if we believe in the project and their CEO, then we should continue to hold until the ATH is hit.

Yeah thats why they made a decision not to allow Ravena since they now this could possibly start their problem since this could make the fans turn off for seeing him leaving the league.

The Shiga signing is by surprise and out of the blue. And after just signing, Ravena will head right away to Japan with some unfinished business. That was unrespectful indeed for a professional player, who just sign a fresh agreement with NLEX and PBA, so the league takes action and I think what they did is right. Take note also that he agree to sign in Uniform Players' Contract (UPC) where he agrees that he won't be a move to another league.

If Ravena really talks to the PBA board prior to signing, there shouldn't be an issue now or the issue got settled behind the cameras. And he is silent about the issue, not because he was asked to do so or to not make any controversies, but I'm sure they admit there was a really a mistake on their part.

More importantly, I don't see his future bid on playing outside the country will be jeopardized. Time will heal everything and soon, his current contract will be restructured and modified so that he can now play outside without any questions.

I'm just curious why the PBA has said if the player wants out of the league, is it that the team and players side to settle? it's like the PBA holds the player's neck in every situation, all the trades and players being swap to other superpower teams like making the league unbalance and no competition, i think the rules need to change because at the end of the day this should be between the team and the owners the should be talking and not the league?
PBA are so greedy, they have to secure good players to remain on top of ahead of other league and we all know that there’s so much politics in PBA. Anyway, Kieffer should know this in the first place before agreeing to sign a contract into foreign league, but I guess if it’s a foreign league I believe we should support our local players and that contract should consider this as well, we need a big change to save basketball in our country.

That is not called greedy, they are just protecting their interest because they are running a business and they want to ensure they are operating with a profit, if they will loosen their policy and will just easily allow players to sign with other leagues even still in contract, then they have to assurance of their future and PBA will fail.
3385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 12, 2021, 01:11:05 PM
I'm impressed on how strong the Phoenix Suns are, specially against their series with Denver. Specially CP3, who put another big numbers in today's game. Makes us wonder "what if" he didn't go down and got injured against GSW when he was still in Houston.

Jokic receiving his MVP trophy, had a monster game, another triple double, but not enough to stop Booker and the Suns, now they are down 0-3 and it seems it's over now.
No one can stop the perimeter shooting of CP3. He is called "Point God" for a reason and this is the reason.
It looks like CP3 recovered from his injury or at least he didn't got an injury against the Lakers last round because of how he is playing right now.

We might need some brooms here because the undermanned Nuggets are 1 loss away from getting swept. They can't stop CP3 and at the same time Booker. This is over already. They might win in Game 4 to prevent getting swept but this is over already. I'm seeing Jazz Vs. Suns in the WCF a week from now or two Smiley.
I didn't expect that the Nuggets will just be easily beaten by the Suns, all the games, they lose by a huge margin, and even at home, they can't even make it a close game, wow! all I can say now is that this series is already over even if Nuggets will win in game 4.
Paul presence lifts the team up, with booker focus on score and Ayton underneath the basket and paul facilitate the floor, there is no chance that the short-handed nuggets can win the series, but I don't expect that they will be down 3-0 too they really need Murray as another scorer and play maker that gives the nuggets option, i hope he will be healthy next year.

Murray will come back next season, but we are still seeing a hole already on the Nuggets defense, they are too reliant on 3 points but they are not shooing well, unlike the Suns where they can find a lot of open shots, and that is due to their veteran point guard who can do a lot on the floor.

Let's call it a series, no way they'll come back from 3-0 deficit.

I guess at this time I have to agree with you, there's no fire anymore, they are already down 0-3 and it's hard to come back on that deficit and though they did a 1-3 come back before, but that was with Murray.

I'm thinking, if the Suns will reach the NBA Finals and won the championship, I think CP3 has a huge chance to win the Finals MVP.
What do you think about my thoughts, do I have to bet on that?
3386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 12, 2021, 11:53:13 AM
What can you say about the Suns and the Nuggets though?

Lost my bet on Nuggets, I thought that they can at least win a win to make it 2-1. It's their home court, but Phoenix started very hot in the first quarter and I think the closest that the Nuggets was about 6 points and then Suns with Booker and CP3 again carrying the load.

Pretty much disappointed, now they need to win 4 straight to win the series, very slim chance.
So much disappointed with Michael Porter Jr. He keeps on losing the ball whenever he gets the offensive rebound.
Mentally, he is not really prepared. I also lost my bets with Nuggets spread and over score but I had player props that made me happy a bit.  Grin

Yes, it's Jokic. He did it all and so does my bets. It's expected because no one is stepping up in the Nuggets team. The MVP just showed why he deserve it even though they are now down at 0-3.

Another big win man, Jokic was really outstanding but his teammates are not. Suns had a great game plan against the Nuggets, they just allow Jokic to generate is usual production while putting more defense on the other players, individual match per players, it's evident that the Suns are better as they have a good pace and ball movement.

That's better odds compared to the odds shared before, unfortunately, the problem is we can't find a bookie that is offering that game for now. I hope I will not forget this fight and I will be able to bet before the fight, it's hard to miss this kind of odds, and yes I'm also wondering what would be the odds for Dasmarinas if he KO Inoue.
3389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bull market end on: June 11, 2021, 09:50:00 PM
It is possible to see red market in long run but looks like we need correction upwards in order to provide liquidity to big whales. Otherwise, it is meaningless to chase the green market, whales should pump it for everyone to get a piece of cake.
They should and they could pump it up, but maybe they are not done accumulating yet, if they want big profit, they need to drop the price lower so they can buy cheaper coins. Just like in the past, bitcoin reach $20k then dump at $3k, that's too low, right?  and we did stay for quite a while at a cheap price while people are panicking but whales are accumulating, that's what separates whales from ordinary investors.
3390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the martingale system sucks! (doubling down on losses) on: June 11, 2021, 09:22:22 PM
Today's martingale strategy try. The outcome is really bad, I wasn't lucky enough to make some profit. If I were lucky I could've got atleast a win in between. Kept wagering until the wallet got empty.

That's really unlucky, losing 10 bets in a row must have hurt especially when the base bet is a dollar and you are doubling the amount each time. This is where martingale stings since you have no option but to keep increasing your bets otherwise you won't be able to recover the losses. Personally, if you ask me, I would have made a few $5 bets after losing like 5 bets to cover some balance and then try for a big one later when I face another bad streak. It's hard to stop though when you are losing because it feels like a win is at the edge.

Now imagine if you had a 10-win streak and you were playing with the same base bet of a dollar, you would have only profited 10 bucks. With 10 losses you already lost around ~$400 so that is where the problem lies with martingale strategy, you win small but lose big with a cold streak.

Honestly, I would not think based on luck, I'll think based on probability, martingale is really sucked if you are using it for a huge number of settings as the house edge will still rule, however, if you use it to bet on a certain spot in sports, then I think you'll have success.

Is there anyone here making some experiments in sports betting using the same strategy?

Can you compare it to the outcome of playing the luck-based type of games?
3391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 11, 2021, 09:04:45 PM

Therefore my pick is Nuggets -1.5, good luck everyone.

I'll pretend I did not see the last two games where Nuggets are playing awful basketball.

With the situation that they are in now, this is a good spot to pick the Nuggets to win.
So I'm with you on this one, let's hope that they will make this series a very interesting one.

Good luck to us @stadus
3392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: June 11, 2021, 02:04:33 PM
I would say that Manny's chin could still stood up against younger opponents as he was one of those fighter who have the iron chin.

I would agree with that as I saw him getting hit hard by Thurman and yet he was still standing. He is training hard and he has been doing that all his life as a boxer, so it's not easy to put a legend down. Manny could lose against Spence, but he would give Spence a real problem, the pressure will be high for Spence as he is fighting a legend and though he is younger but I'm sure he is now facing the most difficult opponent in his life as a boxer.

He was never down in that fight, he looks tired but still finishes the fight with a good performance. During the post-fight interview, he admitted that Thurman is a heavy puncher, so he really felt the power and he got hurt, but what matters is he won the fight.

Thurman has 22 KOs in 29 fights. (https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/426053)
Spence has 21 KOs in 27 fights ( https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/629465)

They almost have the same power.
3393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 11, 2021, 01:49:29 PM
My prediction.

Nuggets vs Suns game 3.
I believe Nuggets will win because this is a very important game for them, Suns have to adjust to a new venue, so Nuggets will take advantage of that.

76ers vs Hawks.

The series is tied now but the 76ers must win both games on the road so they can finish the series at home.
Embiid is producing an unbelievable number, so the 76ers should win this game against a young Hawks team.

3394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Student Coin Speculation/Discussion Thread on: June 10, 2021, 09:09:59 PM
StudentCoin team betrayed with the bounty hunters, they should punish but they're running the project without facing big difficulties. There is plenty of project that did scam thousands of people, they are professional scammers and the scam project don't care about the hunters. However, the bounty hunters are the victim by this obvious scam project.

Sad but true, this project has not chance to succeed in the future because at the start they already scammed the bounty hunters, not only that the bounty hunters but the investors as well as they are taking away the opportunity of this project will grow by destroying their reputation.

The price is already sinking as we can see in ; https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/student-coin/
3395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: June 10, 2021, 08:50:52 PM
I'm playing with BTC and my goal was not in USD my goal was to have more and more Bitcoin so it doesn't matter for me what price is the Bitcoin now my goal was to increase my Bitcoin but of course if the Bitcoin's price is increase it means that the transaction will increase too that's what my concern the most the withdrawal fee sometimes becomes expensive.

In terms of bet amount, no matter what price of the BTC is my minimum bet doesn't change at all.

That's unique, most gamblers I believe are only using bitcoin or crypto as a tool to gamble, so in the end, they still look for the profit in USD as they will just convert it to fiat. IMO, if you like to earn bitcoin, I think the best way is trading, not gambling, but that's just my opinion.

It solely depends on your skills, you have to take risks on both gambling and trading, so if you have the skills in gambling, let's say sports betting, it's not impossible for you to make consistent money and you might even consider gambling as your means of living. For others, it could be hard, but it's possible for some who have the skills and real dedication to what they want.

Anyone got news on when the 46th season starts? It's already mid-June, last time I know is that they will open by June 15.

I think that the schedule will be delayed, if they wish to start this month, they should have already made an announcement this month. Maybe the PBA will start next month as they already started their training, they want to make sure that the bubble is still a success.

We might not see them commence this month.

as per this news, PBA delays opening, but plans to start 'as soon as possible'

Quote
The extension of the ECQ has greatly affected sports leagues once again, with the PVL looking to discuss its options, while the Philippines Football League (PFL) has already cancelled the Copa Paulino Alcantara that was set to start this month.

Instead, the PFL will kick off in July.

part of the article and it's likely the same with the PFL scenario.

3398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are the older Meme coins a good investment? on: June 09, 2021, 09:55:38 PM
First, I like to ask, what do you think is the purpose of Meme coins? Is it useful now and in the future?

If the answer is yes, then probably you have to study the comparison of the new and the old, but it doesn't matter a lot since it always depends on how people embrace it. Since the market is still manipulated, it's hard to know which is more successful, just like DOGE, we think it will go stagnant but once man shill for DOGE, then everyone goes crazy, that's insane.
3399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Naoya Inoue vs Michael Dasmarinas June 19 on: June 09, 2021, 09:31:39 PM
Hey guys! I'm just sharing, the odds are already out in one of the bookies.

Dasmarinas is x15.. will you hesitate to take that?

https://1xbet.com/en/line/Boxing/

I know it's from a non reputable site, but it's up to you if you'll bet on the site.

The fact that it's already available in one of the crypto sportsbook, that means the odds will be out soon for other sportsbooks. I can still wait, we still have more than 1 week, and I'm even okay with odds availability one day before the fight.

That x15 is quite interesting, I might look for an upset here and will bet on the underdog.

Sure it's not a Donaire vs Oubaali odds, but the Filipino boxer will certainly find ways to upset the monster Inoue.
3400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: June 09, 2021, 08:50:15 PM
Well seems legit that politics is part of this fight because this very moment Manny Pacquiao is making news in Philippines in regards to His stand for the political agenda now.
meaning this is part of the plan, for Him to come back fighting and also for His political career move.

Pacquiao should've stayed away from politics, it'll tarnish his reputation as a good person in the eyes of many people.
Politics is a dirty business, and it will never become distant that he'll probably play the dirty business too considering the level of education he had, thus political advisers may take advantage of his weaknesses.
Now, he's making the worse move for running the high office (I'm not quite sure, but I think he will).

Boxing and personal business should've been better for him.

Pacquiao career is in the twilight and he is helping people ever since, he will eventually retire from boxing and become a politician, because it is his calling, his reputation as a politician has never been tarnish, he is not involved in any corruption he is very much well known in giving a share of his wealth, he uses his position to help people alleviate their lives if you check his life and you are his follower, you'll know that.

That's true, there is no question about his personality as he came from a poor family and he is kind now that he has a lot of money to share, but the question is how can he run a country, is his knowledge and experience enough already to be a successful president?

I bet a lot of Fiiipino people would look for a better candicate.
