^^ He was really on top during his prime, and that's why we know them as big 3 or big 4 with Murray in the picture.

Unfortunately, amongst the 4 he was really the first one to crack, I mean his body really took a tool too early in his career and wasn't able to extend his dominance with a injury and then the big 3 takes over. I do hope that he can still reignite his career, but I have said before, it will be difficult and I doubt that he will win another tournament.
Sadly its too difficult for me to see nadal struggling too early but as you said lately he was injured more often and he didnt play for a long term so loosing against murray and a young shapovalov but with extensive preparation and some rest i am sure nadal will get better i dont know about winning tournements but i think he still can be a major competetor in them.

Oh yes, Nadal will continue to be a major competitor, TBH as much as I like Andy
Murray I cannot see him beating Nadal when he comes back fully from his injury.

I can see Zverev, Medvedev and obviously Djokovic being extremely difficult for Nadal
to beat in 2022 but it all depends on the rate of recovery and what level he recovers to,
90%, 99% ?

3382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUDS started against Bitcoin as asusual on: December 19, 2021, 02:08:16 PM
I have seen few post in the forum again which is portraying Bitcoin price in negative lights again and some are predicting Bitcoin will go below $40k, it's creating panic and sense of fear amongst the inexperienced users which may lead to panic selling. I would urge all to make as much educational post on Bitcoin as possible to keep the newbies and other users away from fuds and also to make them understand that Bitcoin is a technology and not a gambling where they can double their money anytime. It's decentralised and fluctuations will always be there and we need to adopt to it instead of cashing out by losing out on capital investment.

Some people just feel good by spreading fud when it's not even necessary and they probably have a very limited idea of what is happening,  unfortunately it is always the inexperienced and the vulnerable that will react to such cheap fud,
I will urge investors, new or old to learn to do their own reading about the current situation in the world in general, read about the progress btc has made so far and compare to previous situations, besides, dips are part of the market, it doesn't stay down forever.

Of course there will always be those who hate Bitcoin, because we can't possibly get everyone in the world to support Bitcoin. Therefore the Bitcoin
haters will usually spread FUD about Bitcoin, with the intention of wanting to stop the development of Bitcoin. But we all know that almost every year
there are FUDs popping up, but the fact that how many FUDs are circulating can't stop Bitcoin. Because many Bitcoin investors are getting smarter
and not affected by the circulating FUD. Therefore Bitcoin continues to grow rapidly, although there are lots of FUDs in circulation. Maybe only newbies
and some inexperienced people are affected, therefore usually the effect of FUD is not long.

FUD Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt is not just spread by Bitcoin haters, it is also
spread by FUDsters, people who are only targeting "weak hands" and weak hands
are the people who buy when the market is moving up or who buy at the top - $69,000,
and who only see the present and cannot look past the current market value of ~ $48,000.

They are easy targets and the FUDsters prey on them, and try to make them sell at the most inopportune time.
Threads like this will help because we are all in agreement, its just up to
the weak hands to read.
3383  Economy / Economics / Re: Indonesia's 0% Tax on foreigners and digital nomads on: December 19, 2021, 10:14:43 AM
I can only imagine the link you posted was not deemed either not safe or reputable.

I have searched for this topic in google and it looks like its all about digital nomads,
people working online which does not require them to be in a specific location, the
only necessary tools are a laptop and internet connection so yea this is relevant to
people working in the crypto space.

As regards zero tax, this will definitely attract nomads, great climate, great locations
and an inexpensive standard of living.
3384  Economy / Economics / Re: How far is bitcoin from full adoption (100% mass adoption)? on: December 18, 2021, 08:46:41 PM
100% mass adoption? my mind is racing with what to say....

Generally people are lazy, they take what is given to them and will continue
with FIAT as long as its convenient. Generally people are not financially
literate so they dont understand the finer details of inflation so its only
the minority who will buy Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation so there are
some points as to why there will be no 100% adoption.

Another point, at the rate that some wealthy people and other Bitcoiners are buying
Bitcoin there isnt going to be a chance that everyone will be able to own it.
3385  Other / Off-topic / Re: First impressions on Craig Wright ( Satoshi Nakamoto ? ) on: December 18, 2021, 04:44:09 PM
Wherever I go, opinions seem to be divided about whether Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto or not.

You have been going to the wrong places then.

I have never seen anyone who thinks Craig is Satoshi.

Exactly!

Simply listen to reputable members here on the forum, especially Greg Maxwell
and anyone would be set straight about the Wrights claims.

The reputable members of the forum, members who have been in the space for
a number of years who have seen it all regarding Bitcoin dont know Satoshi but
sure as hell know who isnt Satoshi.

So there is no better place to get your CSW info than here on the forum!
3386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What did you buy with crypto? on: December 18, 2021, 04:09:20 PM
In fact, in my country, a lot can already be bought with crypto, from coffee and technical goods to airline tickets, apartment rentals etc.
Crypto can even be bought or sold at the state post office  Grin
I didn't use crypto much to buy or sell but a few years ago I bought a new computer with crypto.
However, given the rise in crypto prices, it is actually better not to spend it but to hodl it.

Thats interesting to be able to widely and easily spend Bitcoin at will.
Its relative in a way, while Bitcoin prices rise and FIAT prices stay fixed
we dont have to spend as much Bitcoin for the same product.

3387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: December 18, 2021, 08:08:54 AM
Did you guys learn about the recent news on Magnus, announcing that he would not participate in the next WC championship if his opponent is not Firouzja? What are your thoughts on his statement about it?

In my opinion, the preparation of the WC title is too demanding especially that it takes around months of preparation and focus needed. Maybe Carlsen does not have to prove anything as he is considered the best player in today's generation.

I also read the news and lets hope that he still wants to defend his title even if his opponent is not Firouzja. I can understand Carlsen, as you say, a preparation for the WC title is very demanding and time consuming but it would be a pity if he doesn't participate. Also for his opponents it would be bad news as you always want to win against the best.

yes, agree with babygun here
I haven't read these news yet, but would be nice for his opponent to have a chance against the best
though we don't know their personal goals and life besides career too, maybe he wants to pursue other things

Yes I agree too, it is always exciting to see the top  players play each other, especially
numbers 1 and 2, but it doesnt always work out like that and it is not a guarantee
that it would produce the best matches, and this is true for all sports really.

Does Carlsen mean he wants to play Firouzja at some stage in the tournament
or in the final? surely he cannot make demands like that?
3388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Show love with some bitcoin on: December 17, 2021, 09:57:27 PM
Yes this is something I do for some of my family who are also involved with Bitcoin.
I started last Christmas and will do the same this year but added to this year I have
a Nephew who has ben interested since the summer and I have a Trezor wallet for
him for Christmas. When he gets it activated all the other family members who are into
Bitcoin will send some Saoshi's to an address from his Trezor!

So its a big adventure starting up a hardware wallet including the hands on experience
of generating and storing the seed and passwords.
3389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is still in a downward trend, will it last long or temporarily? on: December 17, 2021, 07:32:42 PM
There are many chart analysis which can give us a guide or estimate as to where
we are and possibly what to expect.

Let me correct you: there are many useless chart analysis...

I like to come to the speculation section because deep down we would like to be able to predict the future of the price but deep down we know it is impossible. If the prediction and the price coincide, in most cases it is simply because of statistics, with so many predictions that are made, one has to be right, but not because there is a relationship between the charts and the analysis and the final price.

Until now we thought we had a guide to base ourselves on, that this cycle was going to be like the previous ones, also the S2F, but at this point we should be much higher than we are, so we no longer know very well what to base ourselves on, but obviously we will continue to speculate.

I stand corrected @Poker Player

I agree with your synopsis of the various chart analysis, to use an analogy, "if you
throw enough $hit some of it is bound to stick"

Again today bitcoins market price is a continuation of the last week or so....sideways!

On some positive notes we have to consider regardless of market value Bitcoin is
currently being used as an alternative currency El Salvador, it is a real viable
option for wealth transfer regardless of location and is being used as a hedge against
inflation, the result of all these actions will at some point manifest themselves on the market.

Unfortunately I recon that the new people who need to HODL Bitcoin are selling ATM,
and the people who have the means Whales are buying.
3390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My second purchase with bitcoin on: December 17, 2021, 11:16:12 AM
Yea congrats to the OP for the trade of Bitcoin for product, he knows and is looking
forward to dealing direct with a merchant who accepts Bitcoin.

More demand from buyers will show traders and merchants that should
consider accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment, obviously it would only
be viable in countries without a hardline stance against Bitcoin and crypto.

We'll find out soon enough Grin

Anyway, it's a really unnecessary thing to deal with. I don't understand why would he need to be vaccinated if there are still 25% of unvaccinated Australian citizens.
He would be looking for his 10th Australian Open, and if he won it he'd surpass Federer and Nadal and become the player with most GS's in tennis history.

It's really unnatural that politics can interfere with such things. I'm a Federer fan, but now I really want Đoković to win this one.

Well its the rules of the Australian Open, they have a duty of care to try and keep players,
staff and spectators safe from infection.

With the government they have the same duty of care I imagine to try and manage the
potential demand on their health service, not just for COVID infections but the pressure
a potential outbreak can put on services for other staff and patients of the health service.

So while there might be 25% of Australians not vaccinated you can be sure they dont
have the same "freedom" as vaccinated people and as regards non-nationals Australia
always been quite strict, vaccinations is just another thing they want ant can control.
@cryptofrka The best man will always win.

@aoluain It's not only the rules of the Australian Open because the last time I checked every sport setting has set up certain rules and regulations to prevent the spread of the virus within the sports realm.
Speaking of the vaccine, I know the unvaccinated people won't have the same freedom as the people that have got the vaccine but have you?

When it comes to social events and outlets yes the vaccinated have more freedom.

https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/health-wellbeing/queensland-covid-restrictions-on-unvaccinated-come-into-effect-what-are-the-rules-c-4979214

Quote
Venues where patrons must prove they are vaccinated include cafés, restaurants, pubs, clubs, RSL clubs, taverns, function centres, bars, wineries, distilleries, microbreweries, nightclubs, live music venues, karaoke bars, concerts, theatres, cinemas, bowling alleys, amusement arcades, casinos and other gambling venues, convention centres, adult entertainment venues (including strip clubs and brothels), stadiums, theme parks, tourism parks, zoos, aquariums, wildlife centres, showgrounds, music festivals, art festivals and cultural festivals

But this is about managing the health services and trying to reduce the impact on them
by the virus, sporting events particularly the AO which runs for a number of weeks will
have hundreds of thousands of footfall, they dont want people being infected there and
they certainly want the competition to run its course without further restrictions.

There are many chart analysis which can give us a guide or estimate as to where

I think or so I've been told, we are on a "Decending Wedge" which is a bullish pattern,
eventhough the market price looks to be  falling or at best going sideways.

Look this current situation has even skuttled PlanB's prediction of $135k by
year end.

Bottom line is, nobody knows for sure
3393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fundamental goal of bitcoin on: December 16, 2021, 09:32:14 PM
Most of us believe Bitcoin's goal is to enable anyone to transfer digital wealth to
another without the need of a 3rd party, this also means Bitcoin is borderless.

This was the initial goal of Bitcoin as it was created right after the financial crash in
2007 through 2009. The crash which the many paid for and the few got away with.

Bitcoin can transcend its initial goal and become a number of other financial
tools and replace currencies but its main goal remains.

3395  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: December 15, 2021, 10:22:07 PM
The next step should be sports betting, and then this would be the best casino around.

Rollbit hasnt really make an official statement regarding this but pretty sure that this will be their next step.

This image really tells us everything huh Tongue. I dont really care about sportsbook anyway because other sites are good enough for me, all I want for now is to get my hands on another set of Rollbots 2.0 lol ( probably not flipping to make some quick profit this time because I've regretted my decision lol ). Im sure that alot of people are expecting them to launch this in early 2022 but we'll see though

Thats very interesting, it would make sense to get involved and offer sports betting,
its a massive area which I can imagine would be a massive undertaking.

I would definitely use Rollbit for my sports betting if and when they decided to
offer it. Maybe 2022 could see an offering on this?

@Jating @Trofo well I've been tinkering away with some bets on some challenger
matches and its not going well at all, all I can really go on is the odds and betting on
the favourites is not working out too well, so yea no its really not worth the time
and effort, it seems betting on matches with familiar players is more rewarding,
but then again I guess I lost more on Tennis than won.
3397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 15, 2021, 07:39:16 AM
So even though this is seen as a big break by the top tennis players and all the
top tennis tournaments are over until next year there are still a lot of Challenger
type tournaments running.

I'm just wondering are you all continuing to place bets on tennis with virtually
unknown players?
3398  Economy / Economics / Re: This why wall street are rich and you are poor on: December 14, 2021, 11:14:37 PM
They borrow money to buy assets before bull run
They use borrowed money to make more money.
If u dont learn how to use DEbt to create wealth then u stay poor all ur life.

U never use loaned funds just to buy things for u if u dont have ur own money enough.
First rule you use loaned money to make money.
Stocks and crypto u borrow always before bull run and sell ur assets even the real estate when markets are booming u pay back the loan u wait the market drops u repeat the process.

If anyone start doing this no profit for wall street wealthy guys anymore thats how powerful is investing money what u borrowed.

I'm sorry - but now you can do a "disservice" to people with weak nerves and a strong desire to get rich quickly! First of all, you need to know from whom and on what terms to borrow money. Secondly, you need to know when and what to buy. If you do not have all these 4 indicators, you will lose money and go into debt, nothing more. To begin with, you should generally study what the market is and how it works. By the way - it is worth borrowing money for education Smiley

The OP makes a good point, wall street and wealthy people borrow money
in order for that to make more money whereas common people borrow money
to buy stuff, to spend which ultimately decreases on value and it still has to be paid for.

Wealthy people know how to make money work for them, how to grow money
from someone elses money, what to invest in and how/when to make
and take profits in order to grow further wealth, they know how to pay the minimum
TAX too, they can afford to buy that information, but that information is not available to all.

3399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding the Ponzi Narrative on: December 14, 2021, 09:41:33 PM
One of the largest roadblocks I have in defending bitcoin (and cryptocurrency in general) is when people compare it to a Ponzi scheme.

There is plenty of bitcoin FUD that is easy to defend, but when people pull the Ponzi-card, that is when I begin to get agitated. This is because I don't have a sound argument to combat this claim.

For those who are not readily familiar; A Ponzi scheme is a form of fraud that lures investors and pays profits to earlier investors with funds from more recent investors. The scheme leads victims to believe that profits are coming from legitimate business activity, and they remain unaware that other investors are the source of funds.

People compare bitcoin to a Ponzi scheme because the price increases when more money flows into the underlying asset.
If I buy for X and sell for X+100 that 100 profit of mine came from another person who bought into the scheme after me. In the eyes of many, this is dangerously close to how Ponzi schemes generate value.

What is the best argument against the Ponzi scheme narrative?

In what ways are Ponzi schemes different from bitcoin?

What about swapping the example to lets say - Paypal, they dont produce anything physical,
its a digital service . . . Bitcoin being similar as there is nothing physical produced, etc. etc.

So If I bought paypal stocks 5 years ago and the value rises to todays value when I want to
liquidate my position in a profit, who pays that profit? Bitcoin investing essentially works the
same as traditional stocks and bonds, there is liquidity in the market to fund those who want
to get out. A sound project will have fewer liquidations than buy in.

How do they generate value differently?

A ponzi is solely reliant on new investors so there funds can be used to pay liquidations
interest, when there are no new investors there is no liquidity to pay people who want to
liquidate or early investors interest.
3400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: December 14, 2021, 07:12:35 PM
At the moment, a scandal has erupted in Russia due to the fact that Magnus published the list of his team members and there was a grandmaster from Russia - Daniil Dubov. Dubov has been cooperating with Magnus for a long time and in fact it was expected, but for some reason many Russian grandmasters (and officials) assessed this as a "betrayal" and attacked Dubov with criticism.
An interesting situation, but it seems to me that the main reason is that they are only dissatisfied with the result of the Magnus-Nepo match and this is just a way to pour out their emotions.

Sergey Karjakin tweeted a jab against Dubov for supporting Carlsen but he forgot about the fact that he used to train in the UK and later on pledged his loyalty to Putin. Again, this is not an issue about patriotism as chess is an international sport with two people fighting for the world title. It should not be political (although the history depicts it as such) and should only focus on talent of the players.

If that were the case also, then Kasparov should be under scandal when he trained Magnus when he was young, also Karpov. I really do think that the Russians are going too overboard on this issue especially that they tackled on the topic about 'patriotism' when such is not the case.

I am from Russia myself, so I can say that this scandal has many layers and is actively developing - a large part of the Russian-speaking chess community has already been drawn into it. In fact, I am shocked by the opinions of many respected chess players who are now showing aggression towards Dubov, demanding his exclusion from the national team, etc. This is not patriotism, but some kind of cave-like emotions, I am surprised that intellectual people show them so clearly.

OMG some people need to relax, its just a sport, it isnt actually war games,
it isnt Russia against some other power. Indeed its two players pitting their
skills against each other with a team of their choosing. Actually its similar
to tennis in that its an individual sport but a big supporting team in the background,
usually of different nationalities.

This thing now is very idealistic
