341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We need a separate Litecoin sub-forum or move the LTC community on: April 20, 2013, 09:23:05 PM
I don't like the idea of seperating different cryptos to different forums.

The community on bitcointalk is really impressive and not so many would register to another forums on a coin they aren't even invested in. Once you got into one alternative to btc you would have to be on bitcointalk and your alternative forum. That is no problem, but then there is no need to talk on bitcointalk about your 2nd coin and it wouldn't be seen by others.

If your favourite alternative happens to be PPC you wouldn't hear anything interresting on LTC so no need to even visit ltctalk and we would loose communication between the alternatives.

Everything is possible  Grin but I doubt we will see single digits again !

Make it double digits and it would be argueable, but single is impossible.

343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mt.Gox Verification Speculation on: April 19, 2013, 09:04:20 PM
Do you perhaps know if it is allowed to send funds prior to the verification? E.g. you see yourself 500th in the queue and  you send the money before the positive clearance?

Don't know, but wouldn't recomend it. They warn that if you send money to a already verified without proper infos it would take long to manually clear transactions and on auto it takes sometimes over a week. It will only take much longer, so be patient ...
344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Bitcoins need something REAL to back them? on: April 18, 2013, 11:39:03 PM
The following blog by a PhD of Economics ...
There is your problem right there Smiley

As long such idiots run central banks there is no need to back bitcoin.

Wait a sec ... That might be the REAL backing of BTC. Bitcoins are backed by goverment stupidity. Every smart goverment could launch a premined crypto currency and bitcoins would be worthless. Unfortunately there is no such thing as smart gov ...

No goverment on earth is capable to create a online currency without a total screwup or adding at least 10 stupid features that make worthless. There must be AML to fight wars they can't win. There must be confiscation so they can pay for their dep ... ehm fight terrorism.
345  Other / Beginners & Help / Why aren't there any positive poll options? on: April 18, 2013, 10:42:49 PM
I belive thats impossible to measure, but after a while there might be a positive effect on BTC.

At first it will take some cash out of BTC, but in the long run it's symbiotic.
Once you have LTC established some people will cash out to LTC instead to USD if there is a panik. This will lead to more trust in crypto in general so btc will rise even more on USD. LTC/BTC is impossible to predict.
