I checked the transaction ID link on my Pay Pal receipt. TH has been verified as paid in full.  Grin

Paid to their Paypal account - however, they can't get the money you sent them.

Then I guess they'll have to refund our money and we pay with credit cards. TH says 2-3 days to find out for sure.

EDIT: and did you place your order after they announced they were suspending taking paypal or there abouts? hmmm...lol

I ordered on the 18th. If Pay Pal won't  pay TH they can't order more chips.

My credit card has been charged. I have a zero Pay Pal balance. So they must have paid TH. Right?

It sounds like just your payment actually went through.... and is your order showing processing" ? i don't think" that indicates that paypal released funds to TH tho ?

It says Processing on the TH site. Mine is likely paid. I guess they just send the same email to everyone regardless.  I wonder why the rest haven't went through?

What email are you refering to? the paypal email you receive when you complete a purchase?

EDIT: and did you place your order after they announced they were suspending taking paypal or there abouts? hmmm...lol

Todays email

Sorry for taking so long for this order status update.

Here is the update:

PayPal has still not released the hold on our funds. We are still talking to them and trying to get the hold lifted. If something does not work out, we might have to refund all the PayPal orders. In that case we will give all the PayPal customers an option to hold their spot by paying with Credit Card, BTC or Bank Transfer. We have already been approved for a merchant account for Credit Card processing, and the bank will take 2-3 days to setup our account. We are still hopeful that PayPal will release our funds and we won't have to take this step of refunding all the PayPal orders. If not, as soon as our Merchant Account for Credit Card processing is set up by the bank (hopefully before Friday), we will mass-refund all the PayPal orders.

In case of a PayPal mass refund, certainly a lot of customers will fail to repay and hold their spot, resulting in many orders moving up the queue. So please give us another 2-3 days to resolve the issue with PayPal and decide the next step.

Thanks you.

My Credit Card has already been charged by Pay Pal TerraHash. So they should be able to get the money from Pay Pal if they don't already have it. My account still says processing. Huh
348  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to buy BTC? on: June 25, 2013, 01:20:18 AM
In recent history it is an excellent time to buy Bitcoins. If I have the money I will buy 5 Bitcoins when it dips down like this ($97) today. I would buy 50 Bitcoins and then sell them when it reaches $130 for a 30% profit. But it could drop to $40 instead and I wouldn't have any money left to buy more at a lower price.

Depends on what you want to do.
349  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 24, 2013, 12:46:44 AM
I would guess TH will ship our orders and then decide if they want to supply hardware in the future. They made enough money to get started mining if that's what they want to do. They say. "We have already taken orders for all the chips that we have pre-ordered from Avalon. We won’t be taking any more orders for the time-being. We will open orders for assembly only service when Avalon gets closer to shipping the chips. Or, in case there is more demand, we will pre-order another batch of 10,000 or 20,000 chips from Avalon and take more orders."

It depends on how much hardware companies like Avalon and Butterfly ship in the future. Whether it will be worth it for TH to ship more hardware. Most of these companies believe the money is in selling the hardware and that we will screw ourselves.

What does this mean? They want to make it so we can't transmit our coins? who do they think we are? Their nigger slaves?  Huh

The only reason I haven't moved out of the shit hole California is I still have a job here. Poverty except for the bribing monopolies.

And if the price is fluctuating too much Coinbase may back out of the trade.
Whoa, really?  I had no idea.  Do a lot of people talk about this happening to them?

It's better they back out of the trade instead of ripping you off and giving you less coins like (Blockchain). You can also back out of the trade if it goes against you. So neither party gets screwed.
352  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: coinbase.com -> local wallet = good strategy? on: June 23, 2013, 02:34:51 PM
I don't have a utility bill so I can't get a verified Mt.Gox account.  Is it a good idea to buy BTC through coinbase.com via my US bank account instead and then transfer them to my local wallet?  Is coinbase.com pretty safe?

Coin Base is the only one so far I have any confidence in. I even keep most my coins up on their site.  Grin

At anytime  I can zip up Fiat and trade for  up to 50 Bitcoins per day. I can also trade the Bitcoins back to cash in the Bank.  The only charges are a 1% fee to Coinbase when converting to and from Fiat. And a .15 % fee to the Bank. As long as you aren't converting, you can move Bitcoins to and from Coinbase for no fee.

Coinbase has solved many of my Bitcoin problems. It does take 4 business days to transfer to and from the Bank though. And if the price is fluctuating too much Coinbase may back out of the trade.  So far they haven't backed out of any of my trades. And I think you can cancel a trade if it goes against you too much also.

I called them on the phone today. Seemed very optimistic.

The chip thing is really no big deal. They have ordered enough chips to finish all orders. by the time they have the first batch shipped the new chips will already be there. Shouldn't be that much of a delay. Said my order would probably be in the first batch and I have a higher number than most. Grin

what is your order number ?

Lets not speculate on order numbers.  Their could be other factors like Date Registered on their site. Cancelled orders. No Pays.  Etc.

355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How can I get my qt wallet to syn quicker? on: June 20, 2013, 01:46:19 AM
Need to have it opened up as fast as possible to make a transaction but at this rate it is like 10hrs away.

Mine takes about 10 minutes. Must be something slow about your computer. Norton Virus? Tons of programs in your start up?
356  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 19, 2013, 02:59:11 AM
Does anyone know the power requirement for a K64? And, a K16?
Do these come with heat sinks?

128w and 32w

yes, but you will need 'cooling' as they put it, I would assume that means a fan like they have on the dx cases.

They said they came with heat sinks.

So if you have one of those large 10 board modules it will be 1280 watts. The fans and the power supply itself will take more wattage also. sort of like running a 1500 watt space heater 24/7. Not bad in the winter. I think I'll have them host it for now.

In my area they charge all sorts of fees. Like fuel adjustment charges, energy charges etc. etc. So last winter I used $20 worth of electricity to keep warm with a 800 watt space heater but ended up paying about $150 extra.

640 Chips

I could have ordered at 9:00 AM but I hesitated until about 9:30.
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recovering Coins from a lost or destroyed computer. on: June 18, 2013, 03:33:19 AM
That's what I thought. It's probably all the security I need.

I don't know all the details but I will be able to restore the Coins eventually.

 The version is QT 4.8.3.
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Recovering Coins from a lost or destroyed computer. on: June 18, 2013, 02:54:03 AM
1 I have some of my Bitcoins on a laptop computer.

2 I have encrypted the Client (wallet) on the laptop and backed it up on a few removable usb drives.

3 The encryption number is also saved.

As I see it.

1 If my computer is lost or destroyed nobody will be able to steal the coins as they are encrypted.

2 I can simply get another computer. Install another Client (wallet). Import the (saved back up files) from the removable usb drives. This will restore my coins.   No loss.

Is this correct?

This guy is keeping the fire under Roman. Sounds like something may be done soon. Doesn't look like Roman and Co are going to get away with anything to me.
