It started with the Byzantium update.
Next in turn is Constantinople one; but the complete PoS change will not happen in less than ~1.5 years from now (at least this is the official info in etherium blog)

While everyone hopes of short term price change, let's not forget the next in turn hard fork of Bitcoin which for sure will influence the price of all alts.

Looking at the ETH/EUR rates, actually ETH dipped before the fork at about ~270 EUR per coin.

So it seems pretty stable now, going back and forth between 280 and 290 EUR per coin.

I am trading ETH vs EUR, so the only fluctuation I noticed was 20 euro drop on Saturday vs Sunday, but besides that, it is quite stable recently.

So,

Did the HF take place? It seems already yes.

I started trading a few months ago, only with ETH.
Just by googling or so, I opened an account in Coinbase, then saw that it is not worth at all, so moved to their exchange gdax. Also using bitfinex for IOTA.

I'd love to try bittrex though, I hear a lot of pros about it.

Guys, do you think ETH will drop in price right before the hard fork expected next week (like what happened with BTC BCC)?
Even as of now, it is going straight up and up only.

For the past 1 month, IOTA has been keeping a steady line of ~ .55 USD
Previously it was very volatile bouncing between .4 and 1.0 USD

Any suggestions, why so?

Hi guys,

I am brand new to the forum, but only relatively new to ETH as I've been trading now for a few months.
I am sure there is no universal answer, but would you provide any hints how to get instantly updated for reasons of ETH volatility of more than 10 currency units?

For example, all of a sudden ETH goes from 215 EUR to 230 EUR
or
Last night ETH goes from 247 EUR to 256 EUR

What I usually do is look here in the forum, twitter, google etc., but usually reasons for such volatility appear days after (like Chinese, Japanese ICO bans, etc)
