101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ARO] | Arionum | CPU Only | PHP Based | Decentralized Revolution on: February 12, 2018, 12:56:26 PM

Hi, no it won't show you details.
Because min payout from pool is 10 aro.

you can see that # at aropool dashboard / historic shares / column Pending

A question. In Arionum Pool >> Dashboard >> Historical shares >> I am checking "pending" regularly. Yesterday it showed 5, today 2. Paid column is still 0. As min payout is 10, my cli wallet balance is still 0 too. So what is the deal with the numbers in "pending" column? Any feedback is appreciated.

we had a discussion about this topic few days before on discord. Point is that your earnings are split in more then 500 blocks, so You are not able to see it all, but you will no lose your earning, this small amounts will be send in batch (dev said it will happend once a month, but in that time he was very helpful, he explained what's issue and he forced small amounts to go in that moment)

so if You will join ARO's discord, surely community (or maybe even devs (they are pretty active:)) will help You answer any of your questions

Got it, it seems that the pending sum in Historical shares is the sum at the moment of the query and it accumulates to the previous ones (unfortunately still no full history). But eventually, all of these sum up and you got the "total paid" column populated - mine already hit 10 and it appeared in wallet too.

Welcome R4 to Bitmain Family.
It seems they are announcing a new machine every week now Smiley

http://shop.bitmain.com/antminer_r4_silent_bitcoin_miner_for_home.htm?flag=overview

Marketed as a "silent" miner, to be used at home. From initial specs listed on Bitmain website, I could see 8th/s and 2600w (if I am reading correct). Do you think this could be a game changer? If not, I think we could finally have real home heaters (if not noisy) Smiley

I was running mining for last 15 hours and it's showing only 5 entries, then where my share is going?  Huh

I will not mine any more, something is fishy on java miner or in pool Roll Eyes

Would be happy to help you out via discord channel, just pm me -- ProgrammerDan there.

If your hash rate is relatively low, your rate of finding hashes will be low. The pool functions as follows:

Each nonce discovery earns you "shares" on the current block, based on the "DL" of the nonce you found. The lower the DL, the more valuable the nonce and the more Shares you earn for that block.

When the block is finally discovered by the pool, everyone with shares on that block get a % of the discovered Arionum based on the sum of the Shares they earned within the block.

The shares are then added to the "Historic" shares. Anyone with shares in Historic are also paid out when a block is found by the pool, based on the % of shares they have vs. total shares in historic.

This is to benefit both fast miners and long-term miners. So your 5 nonce discoveries will have earned you Arionum (1) on the same block as when you submitted the share (2) on subsequent blocks. Historic shares decay by some % each new block that is discovered, they don't remain forever.

The pool pays out to Arionum Wallets once you've earned 10 Aronium on the pool.

As for frequency of discovering a nonce, this is related to "overall pool difficulty". The difficulty has been bouncing between 100 and 150m    (shows inverted in miner -- 50m to 100m) -- and I've been seeing a share discovery on average every 25,000 hashes.

So, if after 15 hours you've found 5 hashes, I'd suspect your H/s is between 2 and 5h/s.

Discovery of nonces is random; the prior analysis is only applicable for a large number of hashes. In my case, the average I quoted is based on 2 days of continuous mining and 2.35 million hashes.

Hope that helps some folks.

Thanks! This definitely makes sense, although I admit, I have to read it a few more times to get it through.
Is there a way to check in pool how much aro you have mined so far?

The Arionum Light wallet will show you details.

Hi, no, the wallet won't show you details due to the minimums imposed.
Because min payout from pool is 10 aro.

Guys, can someone provide more info on hoe exactly the pool works, it will be much appreciated. I see there are other similar questions as well. So what bothers me (after 24 hours of mining) is:

1. My address does not appear in Current shares at all (any idea why)
2. My address appears only in historical shares
3. When you go to payments, I cant see any history or dependency at all. First I saw three times I was paid for example 0.01. Later on I saw only 3 times being paid 0.05. What happened to the 0.01 entries etc.?

Any help is welcome. Thanks.
107  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 09, 2018, 05:54:08 PM
We ordered 10 S9's this week from Bitmain and paid in USD wire transfer. Now Bitmain comes back and says we shorted them $30 (we did not). To pay them this $30 will costs us even more in transfer fees than the $30. We offered to by more units and pay the $30 then, but now they are ignoring us.
Now we worry they will cancel the whole order and then we will lose out even more when they transfer the money back.

Has anyone had an experience like this with Bitmain and what was their solution?

By keeping an eye on this thread, I have read about this little "issue" with USD wires, so when I ordered my 2 machines, I just wired 10 USD more (to be on the safe side).
As to what you can do to mitigate, I am sure some of the guys who had stumbled upon that, transferred the missing sum in bitcoin cash and Bitmain accepted. Ask Bitmain if they would do the same for you.

Up to the moderators to decide if this is offtopic or not (although I find it quite interesting), but can you imagine what amount these guys could have mined if they didnt get arrested...
Long story short, scientists arrested, trying to use a Russian super-computer for mining bitcoins Smiley

Do you guys remember the Telegram Notification bot Smiley
Boooy, I miss the time is used to work... for everything but S9's. I haven't got a single notification from it for a week or so.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Japanese Anonymous Cryptocurrency Koto [Yescrypt][CPU mining][Zcash clone] on: February 08, 2018, 10:54:05 AM
In fact, my friend joined the logo contest. Some days after sent his logo to devs. Kodak updated its status on Facebook with new logo almost as same as my friend's logo. It's weird. What is that? Coincidence?

Kodak or Koto, what did you mean exactly? Do you want to say that Kodak is somehow related to Koto? It will be a very interesting coincidence if so.
111  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 07, 2018, 11:14:39 AM
OK, I think it is about time someone checks what-to-mine for the new Antminer and share the results

S9 14 th/s and ~1300w power consumption with default website power cost, yields ~230 USD/mo with todays Bitcoin price

V9 20 th/s and ~5000w power consumption with default website power cost, yields ~100 USD/mo with todays Bitcoin price

I really cant understand the logic, maybe for huge mining investments with cheap electricity or alternative means of power, this modular system would be worth, but otherwise...
112  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 06, 2018, 07:05:19 PM

Here is a chart that you can use that will help.

I have updated it with Bitmains latest offering of the Antminer S9.

It seems that the network difficulty will be dropping. Perhaps due to BCH taking a little of the mining hardware out of the picture or older hardware being taken offline to to operating costs.

Amazing research man, great job! Can't wait to see the new calculations with the yet-to-be-released chips.
Anyway, if I am reading this right, ROI of 1 S9 will be 1 year (if the current BTC price remains unchanged) by November 2018.

It is more than highly unlikely to have the same BTC price by Nov, so I think that all S9 owners are pretty safe, right?
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin over? on: February 06, 2018, 06:51:13 PM
I actually sell a lot during the fall. Yes, really a lot. With only one reason - to buy again on the lower price.

Bitcoin is far from over, times like that are a perfect opportunity: to either double your holdings (being careful not to lose all of them though) or sell everything, exit, forget about the exchanges and the browser and enjoy life with the money you have initially invested (or lost).
114  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 06, 2018, 04:00:42 PM
I am f***ing scared what to do
Rule #1: Never invest more money in crypto than you are able to lose 100%.

never invest what you can't loose  Smiley

Just ordered 2 more of the S9's.
It is actually good that Bitmain keeps the same prices, can you imagine what will happen if they lower the price? Number of machines purchased will go to the moon and difficulty will make mining really useless now.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 06, 2018, 03:10:26 PM
The US Senate is hearing a public discussion on the state of crypto, this is their official page with the live streaming:

https://www.banking.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/hearings?ID=D8EC44B1-F141-4778-A042-584E0F3B9D39&utm_content=buffer99da0&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

I think a lot could change afterwards in term of pricing. Unfortunately, no matter how good in terms of technology Litecoin is, currenty its value is determined at 99% by the Bitcoin market.

116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 06, 2018, 12:03:20 PM
Bitcoin bloodshed finally stopped at 6000 USD and bounced back. So far (at least judging by the candles) it is a real war at this milestone. I am not sure what will happen in the next few hours when the US market activates though.

Ethereum is following the pattern although it is relatively strong and still holding value. Still if you guys remember it reached a lower milestone around Christmas (it was something around 500 USD), so I am afraid there is more to come falling. In any case, if the right moment and value comes, I would buy the dips for sure.
117  Economy / Speculation / Re: What caused Bitcoin goes down very hard recently? on: February 05, 2018, 03:36:23 PM
There is a very important milestone in the US tomorrow. Tuesday 2-6 Congressional Meeting on Cryptocurrencies.

The Senate Banking Committee will take testimony from Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Christopher Giancarlo and Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton.

118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 05, 2018, 03:27:17 PM
700 USD is the next milestone in todays bloodbath and we are almost there. I am afraid that if we fell below it, the dip will be a hard one Sad
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 05, 2018, 01:29:20 PM
After watching market since Thursday (first bottom, todays is the second), I got into a very interesting chart on Quora Smiley
It is for Bitcoin, but I really hope the same is not valid for ETH and the constant cries that it will reach 5, 10 and 20k in an year.

All of it is so true, the bear traps, the media attentions, the unrealistic enthusiasm, the greed and the capitulation Smiley
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 04, 2018, 06:15:42 PM
Thinking we might see €60 Monday or Tuesday, probably will be the last chance to stock up before lite pay kicks in.
I am all cashed out so have flat to buy.

Are you looking at a different coin or how do you come up with that number of €60? Litecoin is sitting at 150 bucks right now.

Litecoin was already dumped hard, it hit 80 EUR a few days ago. I doubt it will go that low again, now the big whales are celebrating and waiting for the lite network pump...
