I'm expecting a few thousand btc to be sold in the next hour, how the market reacts to that will determine if this is a trend reversal or it was just a speed bump to capitulation.

Who's gonna risk the few thousand though?

If the cup/handle holds for a several days/a week the rally could be tremendous.

Reminder:

The first time we had volume this high on the daily was when SR went bust.

:^)

That's bullshit.
Both the 1200 peak and the following lows were higher.

Well considering the 1200 peak was after the takeover of SR it's pretty difficult for it to be the first time we have had that volume.

And I'm going based on bitstamp's figures, if we look at gox+all exchanges there is a couple of earlier dates.. But in all honesty the more I look at gox charts the more I begin to tear up.

no one seem to listen to me, the man-bear-whale has transformed into man-bull-whale and you should help him pump, not shorting like ponsi

No. He did not sell at 300 and lower to buy back higher.

Why not?

He has effectively reversed the trend.

Smart money has sacrificed a little to gain a lot

All we need now is for an "expert" with a fair size of BTC to test our current overbought situation to crash us to $~300.

What will follow quickly is a rebound and followed even quicker an overshoot to $400.

Maybe I'm delusional but this looks like the first real attempt to catch a bottom since April, either way any timescale longer than a year is looking super-mega-ulta bullish for bitcoin.

Hahaha I really hate to give the game away but predicting the "xth" dead cat bounce is a hilarious strategy,

I'm predicting the next surge soon, all the indicators are starting to come together.

I think the next surge will not be slower and have a lower peak than expected, maybe around 3 months and maybe get us up to $2.5k

What happened to the bitcoins at mtgox? Did anybody get anything back?

Is there a thread somewhere on the site people are discussing it?

Investigation is still going on. More info can be found here: http://www.reddit.com/r/mtgoxinsolvency/

Thank you, should I get my hopes up for my 18.47 bitcoins? Or should I just cry my poor sorry student ass to sleep Cry

Why would gox pull the plug if it went to $10,000?

All they would make is more fees which will help their banking problem, he has no reason to pull the plug.

If resistance holds above 750 for a few more weeks sentiments (stability) will be exceptionally good for big firms/businesses to start accepting.

I don't think the next rally will see nearly the scale of what we saw in 2013, things will look less explosive and more like growth of a maturing market, in 2014 the test for Bitcoin is to be established for the mass market, and with that, feared/oppressed by those who control it.

Holy shit

yahoo finance is usually pessimistic right?

http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/talking-numbers/why-bitcoin-is-poised-to-break-out-to-all-time-highs-141729681.html

Watch the vid, they say bitcoin is in a "bullish pennant" and ready to break for new highs. Haha!
359  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 23, 2014, 01:04:50 AM
The prospect of more than three down days in a row hasn't been keeping me awake at night so far.

Now it's been mentioned I guess I had better start panicking as soon as possible. I'm not really in the mood though.

You might have it backwards. These "bears" are actually waiting for a (re)entry-point.  Money is piling up on the sidelines.

This.

Any flashcrash will get eaten up quickly, the market is still highly bullish.
