Wow. I am working on a startup hopefully releasing in Feb which one of the Winklevii just endorsed. Not the Chicago Sun-Times but a multimedia news site which will enable access to the news stories through sharing or micropayments. That was encouraging. http://www.vettage.com if I may toot my own horn.

This hearing means nothing...

I'm not seeing how some of you are saying the Chair is pro-bitcoin... the dude obviously wants to regulate it somehow, he just doesn't know how yet. He claimed that stopping a few money launderers was more important than technological innovation for society. Really? This guy is an idiot.

Yup- he is all for ( it seemed) to rattle the banks a bit but not at the expense of the slight possibility of  -god forbid- money laundering.

If bitcoin takes all the money laundering away from the banks, how will the banks make money?

Just wrote an e-mail to the chairman to keep him update that Silkroad 2.0 and multiple other terrorsit and drug market places based on virtual currency exist.
It seemed that he was not aware of that fact. Prepare for a ban.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Edit: also it really looks bad for alt-currencies, even the pro-Bitcoiners in the meeting talked bad about them. They´re even worse than Bitcoin if it´s about illegal activities.

Cameron Winklevoss - It took years for the music industry to sort out what happened with iTunes. VoIP has been disrupting phone industry. I understand why the banks are hesitant but I think bitcoin can help the banks. I jokingly take a philosophical view from Ghandi, first they ignore, then ridicule, then fight, then join you.

I thought this guy was a douche. What happened? Grin

All I gotta say is where are all the bear *ucktards that were on this thread yesterday? How's that crash treating you? Lol. Hope you were at least able to skim a little off the $80 drop before it recovered.

What's going on? Why the price is not yet 10,000$, and not even 1,000$

Through all the good confirmed Cho-Cho-News I bought champagne and ordered a whole truck-charge of harlots home. Now I can't even pay one of them, 'cause it's not cho-cho-ing and they will scratch me the eyes out.

C'mon please.

Not even anywhere near 835,00$. This could not be! It must be some kind of manipulation...

 Huh
