341  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Minersource $1000 gift card; $950 on: September 02, 2014, 12:22:17 AM
Is it possible for you to chop this gift card up into smaller gift cards? If so, I may be interested.
Unfortunately not. There is simply a code that is equal to $1000. Though, I suppose I could make a purchase for you using the code, thus reducing the value of the card. PM me if interested.
342  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Minersource $1000 gift card; $950 on: September 02, 2014, 12:16:21 AM
Any interest in this? I'd like to trade this asap.
Thanks in advance!
343  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: August 29, 2014, 04:27:04 AM
I've seen consumer alerts on the Consumer Council's site for companies with 70 complaints.  I do not see Black Arrow listed.

is it possible that not even 70 people filed a complaint against Black arrow after all of their actions against customers and all of this time.

the council does take action, will visit the business if it does not respond,  and has legal actions at it's disposal, but they're not going to do much if people don't actually let them know there is a problem.

stop waiting for 'someone else'

they're fucking YOU.  do something about it.

Maybe we can buy their email list like others already?

Then we could notify everyone of the complaint procedure one-shot.
Lol that'd be really genius actually. I wouldn't mind seeing someone do that Tongue

345  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] Solopool BETA on: August 21, 2014, 04:15:33 PM
Why do you require an email to sign up and why do you send passwords over clear text in emails?
Completely turned off from mining at this pool now..
I like how my concerns were totally ignored!

Continuing for another month. 516 posts, same BTC address.

I messaged Minersource again, asking for an update on the LCD and compensation and to ask for a partial refund due to the lie I was told about my ordered being valued at $100 when it wasn't. So far it seems they dont give a shit and ignoring my emails.

So if anyone is considering buying from minersource, just stop, because as soon as you have an issue. They will ignore you!
You honestly need to file a claim with the FTC to get their attention. Once you have their attention, they can be reasonable people from my experience.

Thanks, I will do that later after work. I have had enough of being polite to them about this, I have wrote them long but coherent emails, never threatened them but this is taking the biscuit.

I'm guessing it doesn't matter than I am in the UK? Specifically what part of the website will I be following? Computers section?

Thanks Goozeman
Just do the one about not receiving an online order and no prompt refund was issued. It doesn't matter where you're located, only that the company you're filing a complaint against is under the FTC jurisdiction (which Minersource is).
348  Other / Meta / Re: What is the forum's policy on blatant software license abuse? on: August 16, 2014, 11:54:54 PM
I think it'd be great to track this sort of stuff, and having a thread calling out known abusers. Would give us a clear list of vendors to boycott.
I think many users would be very surprised and disappointed by possibly some of their more favourite vendors in such a list since they tend to run hand in hand with production in China and being at the best price point for hardware.
Would you mind listing the others that you are aware of ? Aren't all the A1's abusing your license ? Does Bitmain publish their changes ?
All the A1 variants are abusing it, and every single dragon type miner thing and BTC olympus and some LKETC thingy and I lost track of all the other variants coming out since they all started blatantly ignoring my requests and I didn't have the energy to pursue them.

Yes the big surprise is bitmain. They released their S1 code easily, we almost had to beg them to get the S2 code and the S3 code they have silently ignored any requests for code.

Aren't you staff? Can't you just moderate them out of existence on this forum? There are dozens of other forums they could sell on but still you would have them gone from here.
Yes I can and that's what this thread is about. If it is deemed they are violating the forum policy I would be able to request they release their source code or threaten to have their threads removed. However there is no policy on this currently and I'm quite sure users would be outraged if I took it upon myself to start deleting all the bitmain threads with a GPL takedown notice without there at least being a forum policy on it being created and some warning.
Make a poll to see what people think? I'd personally be in support of you.

Will I get the payment if I change my signature after the 16th but before the payment?
If for example I change it tomorrow, before I get the payment, I'll be payed or not?
Maybe is better to wait the payment to avoid any problem!

thanks
You can change the signature after the 16th is over in GMT time, I believe, because you've fulfilled the contract. Payment will most likely still occur afterwards. I've done it before

Dogie, it would be very helpful if you did compile this information as well. Thanks for your efforts on this forum.

Another email sent to MS and another no-reply. Getting very very old. Anyone out there fairing any better?
Try calling them. I've heard people have had better luck with that since it's not as easy to ignore a phone call versus an email.
353  Other / Meta / Re: Sorry on: August 15, 2014, 12:19:36 AM
Congrats on regaining access to your account. Hopefully you've learned your lesson. Too bad you're not in charge of sig campaigns anymore though.
354  Other / Meta / Re: how to add signature on the post? on: August 15, 2014, 12:14:08 AM
Also note that because of your rank, you will be limited in what you can put in your signature. The more you rank up, the more freedom you have.

Have you tried reporting the posts that include links to the aforementioned software? If so, what was the resulting moderator action, if any?
356  Other / Meta / Re: How do I set my security question? on: August 14, 2014, 11:41:19 PM
The question is, why would you want a security question? They're notorious for being easy points of attack if someone guesses your answer.

BA reply to my email

Quote
As per Management’s update, we cannot afford to send refunds as we've spent all money to purchase parts required to build the miners. If we cancel your order we have nothing to do with the cases, power supplies and other goods that have been manufactured just for your order. For this reason it is difficult for us to refund everything.

Is this my problem?

SCAM       they have lived with customers money, no investments at all...
IMHO if they told the truth that 70% of cost was from their own personal money - meaning customers paid only 30% of investment - they should be able to refund anyone who requests it 30% of what the customer paid. Let's see if they can do that. At least it would be an act of good faith and allow BA more time to start selling miners from stock in order to recoup their money and be able to afford to refund customers the other 70% they're owed.

I'm trying to give you helpful advice Alex.
At least try to prove to people you're not as scummy as it seems.

Or delete this post. You pick the type of person you wanna be.

You have unspent Bitcoins in the wallets people sent to you, don't you? You've been mining in the past on your own equipment, and still are very likely. You should be able to slowly start refunding people.
358  Other / New forum software / Re: @theymos-Update on the new forum? on: August 13, 2014, 12:46:25 PM
The new forum is a myth. I won't believe it til I see it. Smiley
Prove me wrong theymos!

i was thinking the forum in baby-blue mirrored from this here is the new forum. is it?
It's a competing forum that was created because of how long it is taking for the new forum to be released.

Old video is old. What made you decide to post this? Trying to get some ad revenue? Tongue
360  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hiding IP on: August 13, 2014, 03:58:39 AM
Your original IP doesn't disappear when you use a proxy or VPN, it's just masked. So what happens is you ping from your OG IP, the signal goes through your proxy or VPN and then hits your OG IP again. The ping time will be higher, but it will work nonetheless.

At least that's how I imagine it works.

What do you mean by "OG". And I'm confused though, if you ping original IP how would it know to go through the proxy/VPN? It wouldn't... it would just ping the ip it is told to ping.
By OG he means your original IP. And to answer your question regarding "how would it know to go through proxy/vpn?"
Answer: it doesn't need to. When you use a VPN, everything goes through it. There's no special coding for browsers, IM programs, torrent programs, etc to decide to go through the VPN. When the VPN is on, everything goes through it by default.
