Lift weights, squats, build muscles etc. Muscle building is the best way to gain weight, no fat.

Buddha said : Holding on to anger, is like holding burning coal in your hand to throw at others. You end up hurting yourself more. Jesus Christ said on the cross of the people who crucified him : 'Father forgive them, for they do not know what they do' This is the greatest act of forgiveness practiced by divine souls. On the other hand, resentment, grudges are slow poison, so sooner you let go, the better.

Awesome quotes, these are perfect examples.

It just shows you how popular and powerful cryptocurrency is that it is being used as part of a political campaign to win elections
345  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Capitalism vs. Socialism - Make your argument here. on: December 02, 2018, 07:44:26 AM
I am aware of hoarding and tax loopholes.  Tax loopholes should be closed.  I am also aware that although speculative investment happens, it is unrealistic that every vacant property would be simultaneously off the market to a point where new businesses could not obtain leases.

The only reason there are tax loopholes is because there is a tax system in the first place. Remove the system, et voilà!
...

You guys are not only stupid but dangerous.

Without the tax system, there would be no country.  The government can either collect taxes or go into debt.

Someone needs to pay YOUR bills.

You misunderstand me. I was not advocating of removing the tax system. I was merely point out the fact that tax loopholes only exist because a tax system exists in the first place.

However, before the 16th amendment was created, how do you think the government made money? Not through taxes, but mostly free trade. There are alternatives to taxes.

I misunderstood, I thought you wanted to remove the tax system.

Today, the government needs taxes and lots of them.  The debt interest payments increase every year, not to mention spending and the size of the government.  You know, building border walls, fighting wars that cannot be won, spending money on immigrants etc.

There is no way the government can survive without taxes.  They barely survive with them.

The reason the US government was able to survive off trade was because it was small and limited. However, today, the government is much bigger and therefore requires tax to function.

Definitely, public tax helps to pay for the public roads, law enforcement, health care, education etc. These basic welfare requirements are essential for all countries.

349  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A Question to Atheists ? on: December 02, 2018, 06:42:26 AM

I have an opinion that such discussions are limited hopelessly by the grammar, as might have been discussions about math in an Indian tribe whose set of words for numbers were "one, two and many."

The central question is whether the universe, or the local subset of it if one wishes, is intelligence/consciousness rich or intelligence/conscious poor. There is no need to limit this to biological creatures, it's an abstract discussion. If it is
"poor" there is a question where that is caused a speed of light limit on communications.

In the first case, there would be massive sentience; in the second, something like oasis of sentience in vast deserts. But these things have had billions of years to develop, there have been several generations of stars.

Today it is popular to ask when we may create super-AI, but the above indicates it's likely been around a very long time. Somewhere, perhaps not here. Whatever one wishes to call such a thing. Charles Stross used a phraseology "weakly God-like."

Clearly this is a different, more detailed and more nuanced look at the matter than monotheism would argue, but it argues neither for or against monotheism. However, I can't fathom why any one would waste time worrying or debating the existence or not of a god, when the existence of sentience outside and beyond humans had implications that at least partly address that question.

Why? Because it's not just going to be a few ET types. It will be the entire range of life, such as what we have here, plus the things that are yet to be developed here but pretty much certain, such as AI and super AI. And given the known age of the universe and the star systems, that AI will have been developed not for fifty or one hundred years but millions or billions of years.

I am intrigued, please continue.
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why does the Bitcoin price keeps nose diving? on: December 02, 2018, 05:25:25 AM
Market panics, people sell, price drops. People need good news on bitcoin, a persuasion to buy in to the potential of Bitcoin. Market manipulation is possible, but lack of evidence makes it mere speculation.
351  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcointalk Confession on: December 02, 2018, 05:14:31 AM
My confessions:

Love - I took her for granted. I shoud have not
Finance - I don't spend enough for myself, I feel guilty for going to a restaurant instead of using money for better things
Behaviour - Sometimes I am short-tempered when something goes wrong
Personal - When I get up, I hate talking or saying any word before I have my coffee. I also hate lights until after I finish my coffee or breakfast. I hate when someone (a familiar) asks me any questions before I finish my coffee :O
Religion - I don't go to church or have any special prayers but I believe in God. For me the church is just a business
Education - I cheated on ONE test/exam in my life. I'm a good student overall but I couldn't study for Physics because I was lazy
Technology - I invented something and worked with a team many hours on that invention. Just to find out months later that a BIG company had applied for a patent earlier and successfully got it after we've been working so hard on it. It's a blockchain related project

Sorry to hear about your blockchain invention.

Out of curiosity, considering your spotless exam history, it doesn't seem like you condone cheating, what made you decide to cheat on that one test?

I think I’m today world we can’t escape from this matter. Because all information about us have already put into internet !

I feel the same way, almost all our information is collected by Google.
353  Other / Off-topic / Re: Need some schooling advice on: December 02, 2018, 04:36:12 AM
I agree with the advice that you shouldn't do two things at one time, focus and be dedicated to one thing. My advice is school, you will find that there will always be many years ahead for you to work, but you probably won't be going to school anymore if you start working. I don't know your situation as much as you know yourself.
354  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Missionary killed by Primitive tribe in India on: December 02, 2018, 04:20:10 AM
....
Your atheistic beliefs are of no concern to me, but your logic is spot on.

Logic should be all that matters, but some on this forum consider any defense of a Christian to be reason to attack.

I tried to only deal with knowable facts in this complex matter.

And you dealt with the matter fairly. An atheist defending a Christian, it is impossible to be any fairer.
355  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Missionary killed by Primitive tribe in India on: December 02, 2018, 02:30:27 AM

Bolded above, I did not say or imply that. Article said he had studied this tribe since he was 18, so he was fully aware of their lack of immunity.

Therefore he willfully ignored the risks. This is similar to an HIV infected person going out and having sex with unprotected partners and not telling them.

That's not the behavior of a Christian, regardless of what he believes in his own head.

And that's my fairly unbiased assessment being an atheist, and having no particular concern one way or the other about these events.

My bad.

Your atheistic beliefs are of no concern to me, but your logic is spot on.

357  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just one currency on: December 02, 2018, 02:03:10 AM
I only travel outside the country maybe 3 to 4 times a year but whenever I do I wish there is just one currency that I could use whether it is "real" money or virtual money. I just think it would be more efficient if there is one common currency since the world is getting smaller anyway and traveling the world has been in vogue for quite some time now. I can use my credit card, yes, but it often makes me wonder how much money would I be charged at the end of the billing period if say the currency exchange changes a lot from the time I swiped my credit card. And well, I just don't want the bank charges. Is there a possibility for a crypto to be able to provide this service?

Yes, me too, having one currency makes global trading easier too.
358  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think a higher education is worth it today? on: December 02, 2018, 01:14:24 AM
It depends on whether you are already equipped to earn good money and make a good living, if you already are, then higher education wouldn't be necessary. Many people I know are extremely successful and wealthy without receiving any higher education.
359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Missionary killed by Primitive tribe in India on: December 02, 2018, 01:07:03 AM

Now I'll be happy to tell you where the religious whack was seriously wrong, if you want to hear.

Go ahead, I want to hear it.

The guy does not qualify as Christian, because his actions are contrary to basic Christian belief and action patterns.

A Christian would have had the utmost of care and attention to the well being of the targets for conversion, and would have wore full body hazmat suit to protect those he was going to meet. And this guy did know of their lack of immunity to infectious agents he carried from the outside world.

This very lack of attention to their welfare and possibly their very lives disqualifies him from any such designation as "Christian missionary" and certainly makes it impossible to use a term such as "martyr" when referring to him.

Although we don't know what happened on that island, we do know he went in without a hazmat suit, therefore the above is correct.

Wow, this is very true.

I would still call him a Christian though, just because he believed Jesus is his Savior and he (probably) practiced Jesus' teachings of love and kindness. However, you are right, he was ignorant of the danger he was posing on the Sentinelese.

If he could come back to life, I wonder if he would try communing with the Sentinelese once again.

There is at the moment no evidence of other extraterrestrial life, but it is possible, why not.
