Divinity (Brahma) only within us, but outside - only devil (Maya)

people say the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. But much worse, he convinced the world that God is him. But this is inaccurate information still  l Smiley

Wow, you have to be the most brilliant thinker I have ever met. Your information is amazing! Could you recommend me your sources of information, I like to read it.

203  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Seasteading on: December 14, 2018, 12:05:41 PM
I just thought I would post a thread here as I have an interest in Bitcoin and seasteading. For those that have never heard of it, seasteading is taking the concept of homesteading to the ocean. If your floating home is 12 nautical miles away from a nation's shore, you are not subject to most of the nation's laws outside of mineral rights, oil, and a few other things. 200 nautical miles from any nation and there is are no national laws.

The idea pushed by the Seasteading Institute is that if we set up several of these seastead communities, we can experiment with new forms of government which can rise or fall based upon how good the new government works. With current governments there is not much competition. With thousands of seasteads competing for residents that can pick up and move to a new seastead, there will be innovation in government.

A sound idea also pushed and generally accepted is that the first seasteads will likely be protected by a host nation initially so that we can work through the engineering constraints first before moving further and further out to sea. The Seasteading Institute has partnered with French Polynesia to begin building the world's first seastead in the protected waters of one of their larger islands. The hope is that they will begin building a large structure some time in 2019. Cost estimates for the initial structure have been somewhere in the $30-$50 million range, with each person needing about $500k to $1 million to live there.

My own plan, which is a slight deviation from their plan, is to start small and modularly (not likely a real word). I would also like to start in a protected waterway initially. But I recognize that most people cannot afford such a high price, and their system does not leave much room for picking up your home and floating to a new seastead if you want to. My goal is to follow the tiny house trend initially and build a small modular floating structure that I can keep under $20k for the base price (plus cost of solar panels, water maker, composting toilet, etc.). Basically enough living space as a small boat, but unlike a boat you can attach these units together for more and more living space as can be afforded.

The rise in the bitcoin price has accelerated my plans and at a certain price point I will likely quit my job and pursue this full time. I am not here looking for funding, investment or even a hand out. I have been working on my design for several years now. I have created computer models of it and will focus next on finding the most structurally sound design as possible while keeping it economical. My initial plan will be to move to a low cost country, likely in Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc.), maybe French Polynesia (more expensive), and work on building my prototype. I will then move it to the ocean and test in a protected waterway, living in the smallest unit to learn and improve the design.

I will be doing this no matter what. I will share my journey with those that are interested and I hope that once I have something proven, people will want to join my journey and become pioneers in this new industry.

A good forum where seasteading is discussed in grave detail can be found here: https://discuss.seasteading.org/

Do not presume to think that I have not considered some obvious thing about living on the ocean or building a seastead or some knee jerk reaction such as waves or pirates. If you go to the seasteading forum you will see that there have been discussions on there back as far as 2008 (when I first got involved) and there is discussion (mostly arguments) about just about every minute detail that may come up. Mostly discussions about things that do not need to be considered until we are 200 nm from any nation.

What are your thoughts on seasteading? Is it something you would consider doing at some point in your life? What do you like/not like about the concept?

Here is a high level overview of my design that I put together a few years ago. I have since improved upon that initial design but the concept is still similar.

Thank you for the information about the benefits of seasteading, it is a very useful concept that is interlinked with decentralized currency
204  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why I'm an atheist on: December 14, 2018, 12:03:46 PM
well i am not an atheist, i am actually the maximum possible opposite of that.

The maximum possible opposite of atheist is a person who knows God exists 100%, zero doubt.

The maximum possible opposite of a person who 100% knows that God exists, is a non-existent person... or at least one who is dead.

An atheist might only be a person who is unaware of his knowledge of the existence of God. But the more he fights God by being a self-proclaimed atheist, the more he is a liar.

Cool

205  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Love's last hope: Consensual non-monogamy on: December 14, 2018, 12:00:48 PM
I'm not sure why people are still trying to force themselves into monogamy when its clearly not for them.  There are many reasons why people need to be open to consensual non-monogamy

1.Monogamy is not natural and has traditionally flourished under patriarchal conditions where the woman is considered an item given away by her father to serve her husband.   As women start to become recognized as independent humans, strain is being put on the institution of marriage.  Monogamous marriage cannot dominate society without women being treated as property.  This is why half of marriages are ending in divorce. It only goes downhill from here as women make gains in the workplace and become breadwinners.

2. One person cannot satisfy your needs forever.  A little variety is great.  Imagine going through life with just one friend or just one family member.  That would be brutal.  Why should we limit the lover to one?  Most people can't.  People cheat.  Sure some people have the love to make monogamy work or the discipline to suffer through it, but whats the point?  The point should be happiness and a life of freedom.

3. People get married for a lot of the other reasons it is advantageous.  Aside from love and companionship, marriage gives you a partner in life.  Someone to help raise kids, take care of the home, and bring in income.  These features could all be multiplied in a polyamorous relationship.  You build a team instead of just a 2 person partnership.

I'm intrigued by the idea of polyamory.  In my 20s, I had a friend group that behaved in a way that is pretty typical amongst young people.  There were about 4 men and 4 women in the group, we were all best friends and hung out all of the time.   No one seriously dated, but there were times where couples would form and fizzle out.  Over a 4 year period,  pretty much every possible combination was made.  We were all happy for each other and it wasn't the same as hooking up with strangers.  It was wholesome.   This is the tribal way humans interacted for hundreds of thousands of years.

Polyamory is customizable, honest, and safe.  It could be as simple as husband and wife having boyfriend and girlfriend, or as complicated as a 4x4.  No one is cheating because everything is transparent and agreed upon through consent.  This is much safer than cheating and even hookup culture because there is actually a commitment and you know who all is in your sexual circle.

I know many couples who are devoted and who see love more than sex.

207  Other / Off-topic / Re: Maternal and child mortality. on: December 14, 2018, 11:30:02 AM
One of the commonest cause of maternal mortality is inadequate antenatal care during pregnancy. This could be resolved through adequate home visiting and education of pregnant women on the need for proper checkups.

I agree, it has to do with control at every level, which is possible with today's medical science and technology
208  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: December 14, 2018, 11:28:08 AM
Badecker, I read your discourse on man's free will to choose evil over good. It was well-written, thanks!

Some people choose evil over good, this is a fact of life. How can we blame God for evil existing? Either we are created as robots who can do no harm and live in an evil-free world (what would be the point), or we are created as human beings with free will but the price we pay is evil existing among us for we can choose evil whenever we want to.

To be fair, the concept of God is extremely difficult to imagine. How can a being exist forever with no beginning? Infinity is so hard to grasp, it is much easier for me to believe in something that has a beginning and an end.

We do all kinds of things with microbes. They react in a Petri dish. But they never know what in the world is really going on.

We make robots and AI. But aren't we really complex robots?

Why would one think that a Being that is so great that It can make a universe easier than we can build a house, is impossible? Nature suggests such a being, way more than it suggests any spontaneous happening.

Cool

Nothing is impossible for God. What I was saying is that the difference between us and robots is that we can make free choices to do evil or do good. Robots that are programmed to always choose good can not do evil.

There are good people and bad people in all kinds of jobs, there is no guarantee that neighborhoods are full of good people, some people may abuse the system
210  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we must study Economics at University? on: December 14, 2018, 11:16:55 AM
To study economics, we get the knowledge of how societies, governments, businesses, households, and individuals distribute their scarce resources. By acquiring this knowledge, we can then develop conceptual models of behavior to predict responses to changes in policy and market conditions. Moreover, we could also use detailed statistical analysis to study these changes.

Semantics might help here. Forget Supreme Being - what about Supreme Intelligence? Do you believe each of our brains represents the pinnacle of universal intelligence?

I am not sure what the difference is between supreme being and supreme intelligence.

Does supreme intelligence have self-awareness?
214  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists Hate Religion? on: December 14, 2018, 11:08:04 AM

'' Why any god at all? Why not super intelligent aliens, etc etc.

I think Astargath, if we are to say this world was created by super intelligent aliens, it begs the question, "where do these super intelligent aliens come from?"

the word "God" is given as a term to mean "the First Cause/Creator" who is eternal and has always existed

^^^ There are lots of happenings like this. Although some of them are fake, most of them are real. The Holy Spirit is manifesting Himself around the world in these last times.

Cool

What is the Holy Spirit?  What is it made of?  Where is it?  How come no scientist is studying it?

Some areas of science are trying to find the human spirit and soul. We have very little to go on regarding ways to "grasp" it. Once we get a better hold of it, then we just might start getting a hold on the Holy Spirit.

Cool

BADecker

Could the Holy Spirit be female? God the "Father" is male, God the "Son" is male, we should have a female God to complete the trinity

What are your thoughts?
217  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Proof that God exists on: December 13, 2018, 09:28:28 PM

The afterlife exists in two places... Heaven and Hell. Guess who goes to which and why.

Cool

Evil people go to hell

Good people go to heaven

Since everybody does some good and some evil, what are the prerequisites for each regarding Heaven and Hell?

Cool

Faith and lack of faith in God?
Acceptance or lack of acceptance in Jesus Christ?

Wow, I read that thread (from Google translate). I think it must be the Google translation or something but I get this translation:

"The best solution to the problem is to eliminate its causes, it is better to return the world to its original state in which there was no dirt and dust at all than to be lined up with all sorts of robots. And this can be done very quickly and simply, it is enough for everyone to give up any form of power, nature will immediately reflect this. And for the abolition of aging, disease and mortality, it is enough for everyone to abandon making children. Only two not even actions are sufficient for full restoration: the rejection of power and the rejection of childbirth."

If we stop having children we can stop aging and death?

I believe what He says.
Cool
What He says in the bible? Or He can speak to you?

I KNOW God exists via the scientific proof that He exists.

I understand this point, it is very clear. Thank you

God speaks to everybody at many times. They just don't hear Him. The Bible is the place that is easiest to hear Him.

Cool
