341  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: January 29, 2024, 01:36:08 PM
While I think we're getting a bit off track, but you're the one spreading lies here.

1. Chipmixer did NOT steal everyone's deposits, and you have no evidence to back up that claim.

2. Chipmixer has NOT handed over any of their data to the government, and you have no proof of that either.  They were seized. As for the content of the seized data, we can only speculate, the evidence is inconclusive.

3. When Leo recommended using that centralized mixing service, it was a trusted and respected platform in the community. It was promoted/endorsed by many high-ranking members, not just him, and I've never heard of any legitimate scam accusations against them. I can personally testify that they were a legitimate service, as I have used them on numerous occasions without any issues.

Here's the evidence that backs up my claim:

Even my chips which I had in chipmixer service for which they claimed to "delete private" keys after 7 days or whatever, were seized/transfered. and these transactions took place good 3 months ago.
It seems that you are right, whoever had vouchers or chips was left without them. I checked some old wallets older than 1 year that only contained chips from CM, and they were all emptied. Yes, it's a bit stupid that I didn't spend them, but honestly I forgot about a few $ in those old wallets. It's really strange that it wasn't all deleted, but now we at least know where even 7GB of data came from.
Can confirm, they stole a chip of mine a friend of mine that he hadn't yet spent. :/ Really fucking bad practice of ChipMixer to keep private keys, not gonna lie.
It was still there today morning and even when the news broke here; I he had not considered that private keys may have been backed up on CM servers to be honest.

So now we accept someone else's claims as evidence? OK... But it seems to me that you have double standards.

OK. Assuming these claims are true (and I have no reason to doubt them, I'm just pointing out that they do not constitute irrefutable evidence), based on the information provided, it's reasonable to conclude that ChipMixer did not steal those coins, but rather a government agency confiscated them.

To sum it up, your claim that Chipmixer "stole everyone's coins" was a lie, or at the very least an exaggeration. And your second claim, again unsubstantiated, that they "turned over their data to the government" is equally bogus. You're either delusional or deliberately spreading misinformation.

If someone falsely accused you of rape for years, wouldn't you relentlessly defend yourself against the false accusation by posting the proof that the accuser was lying the entire time?

You don't defend yourself against "false accusations" by wishing someone dead, or by coming to someone's "farewell" thread to gloat over their imminent demise. Have some respect.
342  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: January 29, 2024, 11:55:22 AM
I only ever saw him recommend custodial mixers when people were specifically willing to trust a custodian to mix their coins. He could've been more outspoken about the risks associated with them but it is not his responsibility to stop people from doing something stupid.

No, he specifically was recommending the custodian that leaked everyone's data and stole everyone's coins on the thread of a non custodial privacy wallet:

August 23 2022 – o_e_l_e_o lies and says the custodian he partnered with that stole everyone’s deposits and turned over their data to the government has as good or better privacy than Wasabi

If projects such as Samourai, JoinMarket, ChipMixer, Bisq, LocalCryptos, Monero, and anything else which gives users as good or better privacy than Wasabi can continue unencumbered, then Wasabi can too. They simply choose not to.

So, while the claim that a centralized mixer service offers comparable or superior privacy to Wasabi can be considered a matter of opinion, it is unfair and inaccurate to label it as an outright lie.

Nope. General consensus suggests you're an asshole in this case.  Your self-assessment is irrelevant.

Good thing that general consensus and self assessment don't matter because I have proof (not opinions) backing up this thread.

The general perception others have of your character is shaped by your actions and interactions within the community, not by your ability to argue your stance or your relentless pursuit of self-justification.

So you are basically saying you have no basic human traits and operate under the same guise as a weak AI or pre-programmed chatbot? Noted. Here's a truth for you, which you should be able to accept; You're an asshole.

Actually, o_e_l_e_o is an asshole.

Nope. General consensus suggests you're an asshole in this case.  Your self-assessment is irrelevant.
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong Moves With Your Bitcoin on: January 28, 2024, 07:43:57 PM
I've totally screwed up with Bitcoin trades in the past.  When I first started out, I was way too trigger happy, just trying to make a fast profit.  I was buying and selling coins constantly, racking up fees and losing money left and right.
It was a rough lesson to learn and took me forever to wise up, but eventually it clicked that the smartest way to play Bitcoin is chill out and go long.

Personally, I think it's normal to make mistakes when you're new and inexperienced. What is important is to learn from them and not repeat them.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC security on: January 28, 2024, 05:20:08 PM
  • There was an instance back then where a person managed to extract the private keys off the device. Make sure only you have access to the Trezor device.
  • Store the 12-24 word backup physically, not digitally.
  • Don't enter the 12-24 word backup anywhere online.

https://chainsec.io/checklist

All this, plus I recommend using a BIP39 passphrase as an additional layer of security. This way, even if someone gains physical access to your hardware wallet and has the technical know-how to bypass its security measures, their efforts will be futile as the attack is viable only if the passphrase feature does not protect the device.
346  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why are 'B' Crypto Exchanges Dominating the Top 10 and 15 on CG and CMC? on: January 28, 2024, 04:49:02 PM
I've observed a trend where exchanges starting with the letter 'B' are consistently improving in global rankings on CoinMarketCap (CMC) and CoinGecko (CG).
<cut>

Think about all the crypto exchanges you've heard of. How many of them start with the letter "A"? Or any other letter, for that matter.

The answer to your question is rather obvious, considering that most crypto exchanges, particularly the older ones, begin with the letter "B".

Fuck being a "gentleman", I'm a Bitcoiner.  Bitcoiners tell the truth.

You can be both. But you don't have to be a "gentleman", just be a human being and show some empathy. That's usually enough.

To qualify for the redemption of the  limited edition USDC hardware wallet, users must meet either ONE of the following conditions below:

a) Swap into at least 35 USDC using SafePal Swap
b) Swap into at least 100 SFP(BEP20)
c) Hold at least 100 SFP in the wallet balance (snapshot shot on 23rd Jan 10 AM UTC)

Wink

I'm not lying about anything about my exchanger.

Yes, you do!

I don't understand what kind of fake reviews we are talking about. Customers leave feedback, we have no other option.

And that's one of the lies.

Whois records show that your domain was registered on April 22, 2023:

Expires on 2024-04-22

However, the reviews on your site appear to be predating that date. One review, in fact, is dated March 24, 2022, more than a year before your exchange was even established. How is that possible?

The event will continue until 30th June at 10 AM UTC 2024, but may end earlier if all the wallets are fully redeemed.

351  Economy / Reputation / Re: What is going on??? on: January 25, 2024, 10:10:14 AM
Thank you for the valuable advice.

After the harsh experience, I decided to use only open source software and install Linux on a bootable flash drive
I think it's the best way to avoid running into this problem again.

Perhaps a somewhat late decision, but it is better late than never.

To add to everything that LoyceV suggested, a dual boot setup seems like a solid idea here too. With that, you'd have Windows and Linux both installed on your computer, and when booting up, you'd just select which one you feel like going with that time.  This lets you benefit from the software options of Windows and the security of Linux in the same machine. Dual boot gives flexibility if you ever find yourself needing something only one OS provides, and is generally a more optimized solution compared to VM, because it requires less resources.
352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] Trezor users are receiving fake emails with phishing links. on: January 25, 2024, 09:49:57 AM
If Trezor allows you to change your email address, and if yours was pwned, changing that email address to a new one is helpful.
How is it going to be helpful? So that hackers will later know the email again and start sending phishing messages. The best is to unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the email messages. All what that you will do is to scroll down the email message and you will see unsubscribe, click on it and do not receive email from the again. They are careless with people's email.

The only way this can be helpful is that you will then know that any emails that continue to arrive at the old address, and present themselves as if they are from Trezor, are potential phishing scams. On the other hand, you will still be able to receive new official announcements to your new address. Of course, this will also potentially expose your new address to a future leak, should there be any.
353  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much knowledge is enough to satisfy an individual on: January 25, 2024, 09:36:13 AM
We humans are just plain curious.  We can't help but keep learning new stuff - it's in our nature.  Some of us just wanna know enough to get by, but others gotta understand everything there is to know! I think part of it is motivated by a desire for self-improvement.  Getting smarter makes us feel good, like we're unlocking our full potential and  can't underestimate the high that comes with mastering something new either.  People can get downright addicted to leveling up their skills.

As for how much learning's enough, that depends on the person.  Most are happy knowing the basics about a couple topics.  But some folks wont be satisfied til they've gotten multiple PhDs and read every book ever written! It comes down to personalities I guess.  While one guy's content with casual knowledge, another one's determined to dominate every field there is.  She wont rest til he's an expert in everything under the sun!

So I'd say our never-ending pursuit of knowledge stems from human curiosity, drive for self-improvement and maybe a bit of obsessive addiction too.  How deep we dive in is real individual though.
354  Other / Meta / Re: Other Forum members are more civil than Legendary members, Why? on: January 24, 2024, 11:08:31 AM
Do we agree that it is a feeling of pride that they have superior knowledge on issues than others because of their ranking?

No, I don't really agree with what you're saying. Sure, it's true that some legendary members can be jerks sometimes, but newbies aren't always saints either. I've seen my fair share of newbie trolls joining the forum with the sole intention to stir things up with irrelevant or nonsensical posts. And, regular members can be just as bad, engaging in group attacks on those they disagree with, resorting to name-calling, and all that junk.

Way I see it, every community has its share of troublemakers. Placing the blame solely on one group is neither fair nor accurate. We all gotta do our part to keep things respectful - newcomers and veterans alike.  And I don't think its fair to say that those legendary members act like they're better than everyone else. They got that status by helping out a lot on here.  Maybe you just had a bad experience with one person who happened to have a high post count and legendary rank, but I wouldn't generalize and say they all have a superiority complex though.  That's harsh and probably not true for most of the longtime, dedicated members around here.

Buy your non-valid cryptocurrency up to 10k.

I agree with Reatim, your vague advertisement is unlikely to attract anyone's attention. What exactly do you mean by "non-valid cryptocurrency"?
356  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Electrum Wallet on: January 24, 2024, 10:05:07 AM
what you see on blockchain if you add this address?

I'm a Newbie so not sure how I would do this.

How about we take a different route?

What happened to your old Electrum wallet instance?  If you still have access to the old wallet file, you can simply transfer it to your new computer and try to open it with Electrum (which shouldn't be a problem since your wallet file is encrypted if you used a wallet password).

Although, I strongly recommend that you learn the process of recovering your wallet from a backup seed phrase before continuing to use any wallet to store your digital assets. Your backup seed phrase is pretty useless if you lack the knowledge to use it effectively.

Now I just have to prove who I am!

If you no longer have access to bitcoin address: 1NbyAR3YeU1efCqrdsDctZobUEDWazN4y2, and you cannot sign a message, that may turn out to be more difficult than it sounds. Especially if the email address associated with the account has been changed.
358  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Porez na bitcoin i kriptovalute 2018-2019 on: January 22, 2024, 08:53:52 AM
Airdroppaš nekome nešto takvo što "službeno" ima neku vrijednost, iako je zapravo nelikvidno, i onda ga prijaviš Poreznoj, i napravio si mu finu poreznu spačku.  Smiley

If Kruw had been banned alongside Bitcoin SV and Shenanigan it would have been an even bleaker day for trolls.

You know, I think it's kinda fair that this dude has to deal with the drama he stirred up.  I mean, you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes, right? If you go around being a jerk then don't be surprised when those dirty deeds come back to haunt you.
Hopefully he learns something from all this.
360  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: All 51 hardware wallet comparisons and info/stats for collecting on: January 21, 2024, 05:48:32 PM
I’m not sure if this is the right place for this, but I know a lot of you collect hardware wallets. This is a great website to compare almost every single hardware wallet ever created today and maybe find some that you’ve never heard of.

Enjoy;    Link: https://thebitcoinhole.com/hardware-wallets

Many of us already know about thebitcoinhole.com website, and its dev is an active member on the forum. You can find the announcement for the hardware wallet comparison list here: 50 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature

Still, it's a good site to keep an eye on.
