This forum is indeed very pathetic. I assume not many of you here are seasoned traders. This is purely an amateur hour, I left this shyte coin in the dust months ago and went back to equities and forex. This instrument will continue in a downtrend, this behavior is all too familiar. Getting coins at sub 200 was a nice move yes... whoever locked it in god job. At this point I would suggest only profiting from temporary volatility be it in upward or downward momentum. It will never reach its previous point of 800+...As of now it seems to be still moving in a strong downward momentum. It might break out to lets see 260 level then possibly 280 before another drop. People who bought their coins at 400 or 600.. and were 'hodling'. Well, I suggest you get better jobs my friends.

I agree this forum is horrible if you want to get information about the market. You will only get perma Bulls talking to you since January 2014...

Yes this might hit 260 or maybe even 280 with a spike to 300 before the pattern we have for over 1 year repeats. This market it really easy to trade because there're so many emotional noobs trading it. And yes I was one of the noobs here back even before the China pump in December 2013. But I have learned a lot since then about markets.

The fact that you guys are even comparing BTC to other markets shows your lack of understanding. No one has a clue which way the price will go, and that includes the people saying down.

You have no idea what you're saying. Good sell ur coins n stay outta the market more for me

Not sure if anyone else thinks this is a good idea? I thought it may be nice to add the code used to put the official DigiByte signature into your own to the OP.  Maybe under a "Spread the word, add DigiByte to your signature" section near the bottom.

The code was on page 789 for anyone else looking.

Something else I've been wondering about was the creation of a DigiByte Vanity Address Generator.  I've used a Bitcoin one before, and it was similar to mining, and fairly time consuming, but it's cool being able to have a DigiByte receiving address that has your name in it.  Something like DigiAlex1nGTsd5674....

Perhaps this is irrelevant now with QR codes, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who would waste some processing time or pay some DigiBytes to have a cool primary receiving address.

This is a good idea! Does anyone have any information on some opensource software behind this?

Can we get Digibyte added to https://poloniex.com/ ? I think this would be good for everyone.

347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Prediction 2015 ฿ on: January 24, 2015, 02:05:03 AM
Very very difficult. I think we may very well reach and also stay at $600-$800 levels for the remainder of the year. If there's another bubble, we may see $3500(+), but not necessarily higher prices, afterwards a rebound to about $1500. That's my prediction, but it's just a gut feeling and most likely completely off Cheesy

I like where your head is at.

Unbelievable that people still think it will rise again to 300-500, let alone the 1000+ range. It tells us how many people here are either underwater or desillusionized by everything that has happened so far. Looks like the shorters will be able to make off more money from the 70% suckers again. Why do people never learn; it really is beyond me.

indeed, too many people too bullish. too many people still holding on to their bitcoins.

unless bulls push it soon above 300$, a severe sell off in a wash-out style is probably needed

No way, you need to at least dump to $150 to trigger stop losses and at least dump to $100 to trigger another panic sale. With short swap at historical high already, I doubt bears can achieve any selloff from now on.

Besides, only retail investors were panic in the recent crash. All addresses holding more than 100K coins didn't sell at all recently. That is a vote of confidence from largest stakeholders.

EXACTLY....this IMO was the final phase of shaking those unsure investors off from Bitcoin for now at least...the people who truly understand the implications of the coin and the technology behind it are definatly here to stay.
349  Economy / Speculation / WHEN IN DOUBT READ AND RE-READ THIS FOR TRUE BITCOIN BELIEVERS on: January 23, 2015, 06:55:57 AM
Lots of orders to clear from fiat to btc still give it till February 1st I myself have some that won't clear till the 28th on Coinbase. I have many associates in the same boat. February 1st will be a good first of the month for all of us. Read this article always good and helps you deal with the price fluctuations. All of us seasoned btcers know the deal but I still like to read this. This is especially for all the people out there who buy bitcoin and then are unsure what to do or get scared when the price drops. Enjoy

Well, it seems that we had an unplanned experiment that should allow us to answer the question: "What is the effect of this thread on the prce of bitcoin".

Conclusions?

DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THIS WAS A TEST?  I DID TOO..

Does Digibyte have the potential to hit $1? What do you guys see the max value of one DGB 10 years from now?

There are so many factors involved in this question to make a prediction. The best we can do for any crypto is to get it into the mainstream and see if it sticks as a trading medium. I imagine if any of the Alts hit $1 per coin, there would be a lot of overnight fortunes.

Plenty of alts have hit $1 have they not? Paycoin...counterparty....litecoin.

Can 1 DGB be divided like one BTC? If so how many times and what is the unit called?

What makes Digibyte stand out from BTC? Do you guys see BTC and DGDGB Co existing in the future? What about BTC and DGB wallets in one single wallet?

I hope I am wrong but Russia and the USA are looking like they will go to war sometime soon. Almost seems inevitable.

many people believe including me that this will happen and it does seem inevitable.

Yes, of course people will go to war sometimes.
But when? That's the question.
Could take another thousand years.

I say war within the next 8 months. Calling it here.

Ten days ago, Ben Lawsky was on Money Talking, New York Public Radio. He shares a positive outlook on Bitcoin and regulation, and says the BitLicense will arrive within days.

http://www.wnyc.org/story/theres-new-electronic-sheriff-coming-town/
