Saturday's transfer gossip:

Roma manager Jose Mourinho is keen to return to the Premier League for next season and his ideal job would be a third spell in charge at Chelsea. We all know how much Mourinho is connected to Chelsea, but is this a real possibility or just someone's wish?
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl says they are yet to receive any approaches for England midfielder Jude Bellingham amid Manchester United'sinterest in the 19-year-old. Many clubs want Bellingham including Real who see him as a replacement for Modric. How will this football saga end and what will Bellingham decide?
Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas, 36, from Paris St-Germain on loan. There were a lot of rumors that Navas would go to Bayern as a replacement for their injured goalkeeper, but it seems that no agreement has been reached.
France forward Ousmane Dembele, 24, wants to extend his contract with Barcelona beyond 2024. This is very good news for Barcelona, especially considering Barcelona's current financial difficulties that prevent them from bringing the highest paid players to the club.

Now that's some big news. I think he would be perfect there. They have been spending so much money and they are still terrible, which means that they are going to sack the manager if they end up badly, which is nearly guaranteed at this point unless they go on a huge winning streak, if they win like 10 in a row then nobody could fire the manager, but I do not see that happening anytime soon.

Mourinho on the other hand is a great manager who had some bad luck until Roma, and here he provided proof that he is still a good manager and that gave him some amazing chances to get another shot at premier league. I believe he could be better than Potter for sure, will he be enough? I don't know, but at least better.
342  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: January 28, 2023, 06:46:21 PM
one thing they had mentioned in common was luck. They believe pure luck made them meet and grasp those opportunities and become successful rather than their smartness and efforts. I've thought about this before and couldn't agree with this more. They've set very good examples to me, including my father, and now I tend to focus more on work itself consistently and let luck or fate takes the rest.
There cannot be any generalized structure for success. But, if you notice that people do achieve at different age with respect to their effort levels. Knowledge also playing a vital role here. Keep trying with proper plan and knowledge will help anyone to be successful in my opinion.

With bitcoin trading I was not successful then I adapted holding strategy and now I find myself recovering all my losses in trading. You can find similar example everywhere; yes, all the people who achieved are those who refused to give up. If you keep attempting with proper plans and knowledge then you can get what you dream about. Here, most people do miss about "plans" as empty attempts will not help.
343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 28, 2023, 03:49:50 PM
What you say is true, especially since Arsenal are the current most FA Cup winners with 14 trophies, so the FA Cup is not a priority because they have won it so many times. But it's different when we talk about the EPL championship, Arsenal last won the EPL championship in the 2003/2004 season and if you count it until now Arsenal have not lifted this trophy again for almost 2 decades. So Arsenal's focus this season will all be given to bringing home the 2022/2023 EPL championship title.

Talking about Arsenal's point difference, it is still quite difficult for Manchester City to catch up with, especially since they have one game less advantage. Moreover, at the beginning of February, Arsenal will be quite easy, namely Everton, so it's easy for me to guess the direction of the match later. For the European league, I have no doubts about Arsenal's current squad, for sure they will remain consistent like the results achieved in EPL matches.
I agree, they are basically what Real Madrid to UCL, but Arsenal to FA cup. The only thing that matters to them is to get a title, they haven't won a title in premier league for so long, I do not even remember last time they won a title to be fair, it must be way way back. They even had amazing seasons during Arsene Wenger period and still couldn't get a title for so long, only because of unlucky periods where others were better.

So, this year means a lot for them because it means they could end up with a title decades later and that will be a sweet victory. Doesn't mean they will be this good next year neither, there is no guarantee, so they need to play very carefully to win this year or maybe they won't even have a chance again.
344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 27, 2023, 09:15:40 PM
I can say that Roma chances in this match are very small, the best thing they could possibly do is end the game in a draw and will have the same points as Milan but will not surpass Milan positions, first because Milan and Lazio they have already played and have the opportunity to add points and if they lose Roma will still behind in goal difference if they can draw with Napoli, my predictions about this match is Both Team To Scores, Napoli have a good match goals average of around 2 and Roma 1 so the chances winning the BTTS bet are huge.
Given the strength of Napoli and how much Mourinho loves a 1-0 score, I would not bet on BTTS. It seems to me that Roma will play completely closed football and they will be quite satisfied with a goalless draw. In such conditions, the score 1-0, 2-0, 0-0, 0-1 is very likely and for the BTTS bet to make sense, the odds must be really attractive.
I think Mourinho has learned the value of offense a bit this year, looking at the results so far, they actually have 25 goals on 19 games, a bit better than 1 goal per game, and that means sometimes they go for second goal if they can, and considering they had some games with no goals scored, maybe even more. That's why I believe that we should be considering the fact that Roma may end up with something much better this game if they could.

However, Napoli is Napoli and they are a different beast this season and I believe that we should not be expecting Roma to win this game. Is it impossible? Of course not, but it is also unlikely at the same time and will definitely see a Napoli win most likely.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin gaining this much fame despite it's restrictions? on: January 27, 2023, 08:44:50 PM
Though I'm new in the cryptocurrency space,I have been hearing so much about crypto ( Bitcoin precisely) lately even before I got registered on the forum and I had to ask this very question because in three days I've heard and seen people talk and discuss about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general and it prompted my question wanting to know why it has been talked about this much and gaining more acceptance in my local community despite it's restrictions in my country and is it also gaining this much fame in your environment?
The "restrictions" are not restrictions, that's why. I mean bitcoin is the most free thing we have ever seen before, and that's why it's such a great thing. I do not mean free as in it's not costing any money at all, I just mean the freedom part of it and when you are using bitcoin you are as free as you can get with it.

In the end, people will use whatever they want to use and if they want to use bitcoin then it means they are free to use bitcoin as they want, there is nothing wrong with that. I support bitcoin because I believe that governments are only looking out for themselves and their rich friends, bitcoin is there to help everyone equally and why it's such a great thing.

I have never been interested in Arab football and I don’t know how they are doing, but it’s amazing that they are ready to inject such a huge amount of money into older players. It will be interesting to see the next phase of this expansion when they start buying young talented players. Even if they can't poach the bulk (because ambitious players want to play in Europe) they will still inflate player prices even further from their current insane levels.
They have been doing that in other nations so far, they are just taking it back to their nations now. Arab world has purchased teams all around Europe for the past 10+ years, and they injected so much money into those clubs and built great teams to win games, which was definitely ok by the fans because who cares about their human rights violations when they can get Messi to your club!

However, now that they are taking stars out of those big clubs and back to their nations, they started with older stars with a name, but believe me if they offer 300 million or 500 million a year on some super talent that is young? They will start to convince stars that are younger too. That's when fans will start to be mad.
347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Genesis Bankrupt, Impact on BTC? on: January 27, 2023, 07:08:09 PM
According to a report made by cointelegraph a few hrs ago, Genesis (a cryptocurrency lending firm) is about to file for bankruptcy as early as the upcoming week.
What would be the impact on bitcoin's price? Should we be worried and sell a part of our portfolio to buy back a bit lower after the news ? Or better hodl?
Eager to know what most of the ppl think.
Personally I didnt use genesis ever myself Tongue
This became hilariously unimportant news, and God knows why. FTX bankrupted and the price crashed for some reason, genesis did and the price didn't care. Why? Why did one of them crashed the market while the other one didn't? Not like the amount was that much different, it's close amounts that if one crashed it then the other should too. You know why it didn't?

Because, we saw about FTX and the CEO of it constantly 7/24 on media and that caused the price to crash, and we didn't give a damn about genesis because it was nowhere to be found, in fact I didn't see it anywhere on TV, sure some news websites talked about it, but not on TV, that's why it didn't. Media decides what should be important and what should not be important.

I don't know how much difference it could have made, if Dems were in power instead of the GOP. In the end, it was left to the State governments and City administrations to decide the extent of lockdown measures. And have no doubt here. Both GOP and Democrats support big-pharma. Pfizer and Moderna both made tens of billions of USD (if not hundreds of billions) in profits from this pandemic. The mRNA COVID vaccination is the biggest healthcare scandal that we saw in recent years. Pfizer hid the fact that their vaccine loses it's efficacy after 2-3 months and recipients need to get booster shots very often.

BTW, I just checked Stake.com. GOP is still favored to win POTUS 2024 (Ron DeSantis at 3.25 vs Joe Biden at 3.80).
It sort of was, and wasn't at the same time. There were small periods of federal lockdown as well, and if you do that, you save a lot more people. I know some people out there do not believed the whole pandemic thing, and they didn't believe the vaccination and didn't get it etc etc.

However, I am not one of those people, I believe millions died because of it and could have been saved with strict regulations and lockdowns, don't care what anyone else thinks, it should have been done. In my nation we had it, strict lockdowns I mean, and it was mandated and nobody went to work and we worked from home etc, and we had much much much smaller number and smaller percentage of people died thanks to that, I am glad I lived in my nation and not USA during this pandemic.

Hot rumors are now again involving star players from PSG. Leonel's future with the French League giants, PSG, was a big question, especially since the megastar's contract was about to run out. Messi's contact will end in June 2023, while La Blaugrana is reportedly planning to take him home. there has been much speculation linking Messi with big clubs, even Premier League clubs.

Meanwhile, journalist Gerard Romeno reports a different matter stating that Messi will not stay at Paris-Saint-Germain. if the reports are true, there has been speculation as to whether Barcelona and Lionel Messi will get back together, as many football fans have questioned.
On the other hand, Marca journalist Marc Vila reports that Messi will not return to Camp Nou.
To be honest, I'm not sure about the current rumors around Messi. so, let's just wait and see what Messi will do for his future.
If Messi leaves to play in a more competitive league, he will face what Ronaldo faced, maybe one season of everyone being happy that he is there, and he is loved by his teammates and everything looks great, but then he will get too old to play that competitively and instead start to play a lot worse.

I believe he should stay in PSG because it's a league that is not too competitive, not that they are leading comfortably now but even in this situation they are leading which is all that matters. It's important to remember this dude is not a kid anymore, he is close to retirement age and playing in a competitive team would definitely cause him to have a lot of trouble.
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its safe to say Bitcoin has recovered all it's losses since the FTX collapse? on: January 26, 2023, 08:50:02 PM
It seems that people are now getting used to Bitcoin market behaviour, now people are understanding that Bitcoin cycle is 4 years. Imagine if the FTX collapse happen in 2017, I believe the impact will be more drastical compare to today, now I can boldly say that Bitcoin has now recovered all it's losses since the FTX collapsed, is this safe to say?

I never expected the fast recovery that's why I said the world is finally understanding why Bitcoin is a necessity in every one's life, am I saying too much? Or you think I am right?
It did, and that's not a shocker because anyone who has been in the crypto world would tell you that bitcoin always recovers. Don't know when it will be but I guarantee you that it will go above ATH as well, it will be something strong. I believe that the future of bitcoin is expected to be 100k+ and that will be a good day when it happens, people will have to look at it like a currency and a force to reckon with for sure, there is no way around it.

I mean some of us do already but the whole world will know about it this way. At the end of the day we are going to end up with some issues in the long run, but we will overcome them and keep going higher and higher for decades.
351  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 26, 2023, 08:08:32 PM
Overall, we've both spent over €25,000 together, and after spending all this money, you're practically left with nothing and may be subject to looking for a new house at any moment.
Depends on where you live of course, I agree with that. In some nations rents are cheap and houses are expensive, in those nations rents are reasonable, in some nations buying a house is cheaper with mortgage than renting, and it's better to buy there, depends on the house and rent price ratio.

I believe that we should be considering this as a thing for the future, and consider how much of your money would you be tying down in any way or shape possible, it is definitely a hard job to do and would not be possible if you think you could use that money for something else. I know a very rich person who rents, because he says he could use that money to make more money and buying house doesn't sound reasonable.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: January 26, 2023, 02:11:52 PM
Of course not cos even thinking about it would be dumb.  If Perez deliberately crashes on Verstappen during a race, I'm pretty sure Perez will be given the sack the next say and his reputation is shot.  Who would ever give him a drive if he deliberately crashes on his team mate for his personal gain?

And what I'm just saying is Verstappen prolly had valid reasons for being an asshole.  Be it the Monaco event or something else, Verstappen looked like he was really mad at Perez at the time.
I think yes that would be the case if he behaves like this but if for example these two drivers are found in a middle of mischief during a multiple car accidents Perez can then deliberately crash on Verstappen and claim he didn't see his team mate in the middle of such big accidents.I know that these type of accidents rarely happen but when they do and if you find yourself in the middle of such accidents they can as well ruin your title fight, give you a psychological blow so that you are not giving your 100% anymore and this may as well happen to Verstappen,it will be interesting to see the relations between these two team mates during the new season which starts in one month and a bit.
Perez won't crash on Verstappen, that would be too obvious and it would hurt his chances to keep being employed, there is a reason why Perez is still there and not someone else, he could have been fired already and they could have brought in some other guy if they didn't trust Perez to do the job he was supposed to do. I mean Perez has as much as possible help on 2021 title as he could. But... he could be not so great, and if he doesn't really help as much, he doesn't need to crash, he just needs to not hold others up, and that would make it a lot harder for Max to win a title, with Ferrari having another 30 HP allegedly, his help means a lot.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: January 25, 2023, 05:16:45 PM
This intrigues me a lot, I almost don't understand the politics they have in the USA, I know that now they have strong competition with Trump. Even though we know that if Trump becomes president again, I think it would be total chaos, I don't know if people in the USA now think like this, the disaster that Trump caused at one point, that he even took out some intelligence files and he took home that is something that should be punished, but I don't know, I think that money moves to another level, in the same way I see politics as very dirty in terms of everything being more unethical (at least where I live is like this) but I no longer see much difference with the countries that are first world.
What you need to understand about American politics is not that far off from most other nations, usually it's not this dire and aggressive in west, but it is quite valid for many nations. The idea is that "if the other side wins, our nation will go into total chaos and we will all die!!", I am not joking, if you are not from a western nation, then you will know that it's like that in many parts of the world, in my nation it's like that too, if the other side wins then we will all die, but it's very much so in USA as well.

Hell, look at lockdown and pandemic period, democrats are saying if Hilary won, they would have more lockdowns and more mask mandates and this many people wouldn't die, so it's literally death or life situation to manage to vote for your president over there, and that's why it's so aggressive between two parties.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 25, 2023, 10:24:05 AM
I registered for an offer given on this forum, actually it was totally free with the restriction you must play through the money many times over before you would be allowed to withdraw it free and clear.    Since its free 'cash' to play any game I took the offer and understood having to play it 20x which is alot but I have nothing to lose so thats quite powerful incentive.
I managed to master one of the slots, cant remember why that one in particular sure it was the music or something funny like that but I could get multiple bonus wins often enough so why complain.    I was too scared to play others just the one I liked and seemed to know to win at so amazingly I doubled up my bonus amount and played it many times till I qualified for withdrawal.   Then BTC worth went up much higher so it was no small amount, very nice offer.   I'm sure others can do similar though the good luck cant be guaranteed I was very grateful.  [They did require me to make a deposit as a final detail but no problem to withdraw my balance after that.]
Your example is showing that all the replies like "it's not a good idea", and there are half of the replies like that, they are not completely right. When you have to wager your bonus multiple times and you can do it on slots, we all know, anything can happen. There is a myth that when you play with bonus money, the payouts will be lower and you will never hit the highest ones, but it's just a myth. In reality slots payouts are not dependent in the slightest on whether it's real money, FUN money or bonus money.
They re not completely right but they are not completely wrong neither. I mean if you can do it, then you should, but if you are not willing to do the work then you shouldn't. I feel like gambling is something I do when I feel lazy, I sit on my couch, open a tv series on netflix, half watch it, half not watch it, basically looking at my phone while the series are going on, and then I gamble on my phone for hours at the same time, and I am not even ware of the gambling I am doing, I am just having fun.

It's a nice way of winding down after a long day of work. I had some issues recently, so I had to be in doctors and worked after 6 pm, and I miss it direly, it is a good time to gamble, no strategy no nothing, just having fun.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 24, 2023, 09:10:01 PM
I do believe there will be something different with Chelsea in the upcoming match against Dortmund. The result between Chelsea against Liverpool has been making me even more confident to believe chelsea will be able to beat dortmund.
They will try to beat Dortmund because winning Champions League is something really big and attractive. It is especially important for Chelsea because they almost won't be able to complete the season in top four. Winning Champions League will give them a privilege to be eligible for Champions League 2023 - 2024 even if they end Premier League 2022 - 2023 not within top four.
Winning UCL is a big deal, but Chelsea can't win UCL, no way possible and it's not going to happen. Even if they somehow managed to beat Dortmund which is possible, doesn't mean that they are going to beat everyone else that they face neither, they are going to lose to other teams that they will end up facing.

This is why I believe that the best they could do is beating Dortmund, maybe if they are lucky they will get one more easy draw, but that's it, that's the max they are going to get, semi finals are impossible for them, they will just be losing and they will be just facing harder and harder teams that they can't beat, look at them at the league and you will understand.
356  Economy / Economics / Re: After Budgeting, How Do I Deal With Unexcepted Expenses? on: January 24, 2023, 06:05:53 AM
Even if I take all of these steps, "unexpected expenses" still throw off my budget for me. I will keep track of all my spending and costs, create a budget, and begin adhering to it, but before you know it, a huge unforeseen expense will ruin everything, leaving me discouraged and not budgeting for a while. This usually occurs when I spend excessively in one category or another and realize that the budget isn't working, at which point I give up.

Suggest ways to deal with unexpected expenses?
This is basically why I invest into bitcoin on good days, so I could cash it out on bad days. I had this before, I saved a lot of money on bitcoin before, and it was in profit and I had some unexpected and unwanted expenses to be paid and I ended up cashing out my bitcoin and had nothing left but had zero debts after that as well.

This happened as recently as September as well, I had to cash out on a bad time on bitcoin and yet cashed out all I got and bought something I do for my work and now I am working a lot easier. It has not improved the amount of work I do unfortunately because I have life stuff that stops me working 12 hours a day, but it surely made my life a lot better, because I have this now.
357  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: January 23, 2023, 09:02:33 PM
We have a couple of older topics concerning loans and bitcoin. Majority of people's opinions in the replies still stand.
This has been talked about a lot, not just this topic but this has been a discussion in some form or another for decades. There were discussions about getting a loan to pay for other investments as well, even 20-30 years ago people did this with stocks as well thinking they would profit. It's the same as mortgage, if you buy a house for investment, and pay the mortgages for that out of your pay check, that means there is a chance you could take a loan for any investment.

But, one thing to remember is being capable of paying the loan if bitcoin doesn't profit you, so you should not be expecting bitcoin that you buy with that loan to help you with payments, if you can handle that, then it's fine.
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the core dev team plan to fight Quantum computers? on: January 23, 2023, 08:25:49 PM
May be they don’t need to fight it because who would want to invest in QC just to break the keys?
That could be just a small part of the negative consequences of quantum computers. Bitcoin and the whole crypto ecosystem isn't that big in comparison to traditional finance. Bitcoin's encryption could be broken, but so could every other fiat systems we use. Think about your online banking and the services you use in that sector. The encryptions on your credit/debit cards. Now imagine they all become unsafe and useless. It's still just theory. But surely something worth thinking about. Someone somewhere always works on putting theory into practical use.
You are thinking about how badly it could be used, and not how greatly it could help. You think that it could be broken, but at the same time you are not considering who are developing such things. It's not the sinister evil guy with a moustache behind a curtain, it's the science people who are working on it. We are long long long way to that, but assuming that we will ever achieve it, I can guarantee you that they will use it to help most companies and the world in general instead of hurting.

It won't be available for home usage for maybe even longer than our lifetime (depending on how old you are). It's like we are at basically cracking enigma level of computer right now, not at a level of lets use it to watch youtube videos on it level.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: January 23, 2023, 08:03:49 PM
I'm sure Man United will develop much more under coach Erik Ten Hag. the battle between Barcelona and Manchester United still leaves time, at least Man United will prepare their troops to face Barcelona in the playoffs later. and I think Barcelona will do the same. So, let's see how these two teams develop when they play their matches in the domestic league.
Both Ten Hag and Xavi are building their squads to win the Europa League title. They still have enough time to remove the weaknesses within the party and strengthen the party. But if the players are not able to consistently perform well, the team's problems will not be solved. However, both teams have strong squads. And they have a lot of talented star players. As their performance is not consistent, no definite prediction can be made about this match.
I agree that they are going to end up with a good team by the end of the season. They are both trying to win Europa but they are both trying to win the title in their own domestic league as well which is why it's so easy for them to fight for the cup at the same time.

When a team is the leader of their league, they are given a bit more money to build a team so that they could keep winning, and this allows them to have a deeper bench, which means they could play those bench players which are not too bad on league games against easier opponents and then their starters on the europa as well. Barcelona has a bit of trouble with United though, that is going to be tough, Arsenal has easier path.
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I keep my BNB or Sell it? on: January 23, 2023, 07:08:20 PM
But Binance or BnB is still too centralized. I am sure you already heard what happened with FTX and its coin. A lot of people then look back to Binance and starts to worry about its future and what if it fails one day? My only advice for those who want to continue is just be vigilant on what is happening with binance and its coin.

But before anything else, id like to congratulate the OP for getting a juicy $800 out of that airdrop only. That was rare nowadays knowing that there are now lots of scams. If you want to @OP you can keep some of your BnB and then sell or trade most of it for Bitcoin. You can also allocate some for stable coin to have something to get in case of emergencies.
This basically shows how little people like their governments. Fiat is controlled by governments and BNB is controlled by basically CZ. Sure there are some other board members and all but that's really not that important. And yet we are seeing some people putting their money into BNB instead of fiat.

Because, they prefer that instead. I have to say that I am one of those people and I am putting some of my money into BNB as well, I rarely keep any fiat at any given time, only have some for the sake of paying for things, but aside from that I do not have anything at all like that, I just use my current situation towards making sure it's fully in crypto so I could make more profit.
