They have good players and with the new additions the team will improve and get better soon. I can't say much about qualifying to the quarter finals of the Champions league but their comeback will determine that.

Only relying on good players based on their individual skills, that doesn't help much in today's modern football. bringing in Mudryk is not the answer to everything Chelsea needs. Chelsea must also build from the defense sector, midfield, as well as sharp finishing. and right now, Potter could only take advantage of the available players. there is no other choice, until all the players recover from injury. that way Potter has many choices, according to what he wants to be his main starting line-up.

To be honest with the current situation, I really doubt that Chelsea will be able to move on to the next phase. if against Dortmund, Chelsea still has a chance to win the round of 16 match. but in the next phase, it looks like it will be very difficult for Graham Potter's squad.

As for the opponent later, Dortmund started its first match in the second round of the season with perfect results. although, there are still some gaps that become their weaknesses. I think Dortmund is not an easy opponent for Chelsea to beat. the reason is, Dortmund is in a transition in a better direction. That is what I am worrying about Chelsea situation. New players can not change all things including weakness in the club especially systematic weakness. They can bring some new motives but can not improve the club entirely. However if they can create some short-live effects which can be took advantage by other members in the club, some big impacts can happen.

Real Madrid this year is not in the best of their shape so Manchester City could have a chance.They just need to play relaxed as they surely have the man power to beat any team in the Champions League.I know that also Manchester City is not in the best of their form too but as I said they have truly world class players like Haaland which can clearly make a difference in this 2 encounters elimination.

It is true that Real Madrid this season has not been very convincing in its performance both in the regular league and in other competitions. Maybe the problem is due to the lack of refreshment in the midfield, we know that Modric and Kross are no longer able to be at the highest level due to the aging factor, in the end this problem causes the flow of the ball to the attack line to become clogged and sometimes deadlock. After looking on each clubs performance in their own local league, I think Club Brugge, FC Porto, Chelsea, Tottenham and Leipzig will lose since they'e not even reach top 2 on their own local league especially Chelsea which currently at 10th position. With this current performance, Manchester United and Real Sociedad are more deserved to play in Champions league.
The most tough match would be Frankfurt vs Napoli and PSG vs Bayern Munich, Frankfurt is really surprising can reach top 2 on Bundesliga while Bayern Munich is a king without crown.

But you forgot that Chelsea is playing with Dortmund which in turn is in sixth place in the Bundesliga. I think few people will argue that the Premier League, if we take the average level of teams, is stronger than the Bundesliga, so it turns out that Chelsea and Dortmund occupy comparable places. By the way, although Dortmund won in the last round, they conceded 3 goals from one of the outsiders in the home game. In my opinion, it is obvious that for Chelsea such an opponent is within their power.

Lot of players have been brought in to Chelsea but how well has there been a transformation, all those good great players without a good tactician is useless.
Things will turn out well with Chelsea but not sure currently with potter still in charge of that club, is Zidane really linked to Chelsea as media and internet says? Chelsea need to improve those player's Jorginho and Kante need to leave.

Chelsea seem to be so inconsistent and with Graham potter as their manager, I don't see them going past Dortmund I see Chelsea more likely to win in the matchups,

It's better even when todd was gambling. You must also be aware of how bad the performance from Chelsea. Even if todd was not buying many players and Chelsea was not even balanced. I see that todd has a reason for that. Chelsea has been facing so many losses against other teams. With Chelsea’s recent signings it is expected that we will see some improvements in the coming games, I can't say if those improvements will come in immediately or later but I'm sure the new signings will bring improvements and change things around. At the moment I think Chelsea have a higher probability of getting improvements with the recent additions than Dortmund who might lose some key players again in this window.
