341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where did u put your Money ? on: February 19, 2024, 10:19:24 PM
Just like you, I have invested most of my money into bitcoin. The rest of my money was put into a different altcoin. A lot of altcoins do not really reach $1 so I tend to be careful with which altcoins I should focus on. With numerous projects launching these days, there is definitely a saturation when it comes to altcoins.

Some altcoins, if acquired pre-launch, do not even reach any value. While some altcoins turn out to be scams. I would honestly rather buy a coin that is a little pricey already but have potential to have double profit than try to risk investing in a coin that was very low priced, buy a lot and then have those coins not get any value.
I tend to align with you more than the Op. It is just like a general knowledge that low price coins gives better profits. But the puzzle of finding these good low priced altcoins is hard. As you rightly said, many of them are scam, some are pure shitcoins without road map and maybe will depend on social media hype for temporal pump and dump. It is fine we understand that whoever invests in such projects is just gambling and nothing more.

My main portfolio is bitcoin, I have some stable coin waiting for where to invest it but no courage or confidence to do so. I don't actually know why it is so
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its impact on my life: A journey to a better tomorrow. on: February 19, 2024, 09:57:22 PM
Sorry about your health. May the joy which the bull run brings escalate your healing.

In conclusion, with this contribution, I want to convey the following to people, especially those deciding to enter the world of Bitcoin: Educate yourself, stay informed, and don't panic. Only invest what you are willing to lose. I didn't come up with this advice; wiser, more experienced individuals did, and I listen to them. If you encounter any issues, reach out to people who understand it better and have valuable experience. I found support in the Bitcoin Community group on Facebook.

I wish everyone, especially those who managed to read this far, robust health!

Thank you, Satoshi!

Very basic and static rules since bitcoin was created, but many decided to overlook the rules and do what they wish. But in the end, majority of those who disobeyed the rules cry. Many of the newbies are of the opinion that these rules are obsolete and you see them look for ways to cut corners and win the market. Some resort to investing in shitcoins, others join signal and pump and dump groups. But the basics is always better.
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing when to own your bitcoin on: February 19, 2024, 09:22:38 PM
Can you post your Bitcoin address?
I am surprised that you requested for this. You should understand how this forum works and how we even advice newbies who post their addresses to keep them private. Op do not have to do much to prove to us that his story is true. For your mental wellness, just assume OP just lied and all will still be fine.

My story
<snip>
I assume you are one of the many people who are currently happy with the profits you have made with Bitcoin because the price of Bitcoin is increasing.
You are also one of the lucky people with Bitcoin because you bought it at a price far from the current price. Luck exists but not everything and forever depends on luck.
I think your story is true. I am also happy with the luck and profits you get.
We are all carried away by the volatility of Bitcoin because we profit from it. Gradually we are losing the main essence of bitcoin or let's say other things bitcoin brings to us. We should love and believe bitcoin both at low or high.
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoin on: February 19, 2024, 09:11:16 PM
Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more.  Think of it as a donation to everyone.
The exact quote I was going to reference.
Bitcoin is built on scarcity model, the more it is lost, the more scarce it becomes and the more valuable.

Yo,

So apparently there's like 4-6 million bitcoin that are lost and gone? Just curious if there was any ideas or plans to update the protocol to replace the lost bitcoins if there was a consensus, if that is even possible.
How will you determine that a particular bitcoin in a particular address is lost. Maybe the owner is hodling.
345  Economy / Reputation / Re: Plagiarist DiMarxist is back. No signature ban? on: February 19, 2024, 09:05:17 PM
Now the user is actively posting again and the profile shows no signature ban.

He again made a low quality post that shows he did not learn and improve in months of ban but why no signature ban?
There was much emphasis on signature ban;
If I should ask, do you prefer he should be signature banned or he should turn a good forum user;
I do not think it was a error not Sig banning him;
Maybe he was not wearing signature when he was banned;
Or his plagerism was not monitized;
If someone can get lucky to have a second chance;
They could be lucky not to have signature ban;
The forum is becoming more lenient than the way I met it.
It is a good development;
Since matters are treated or judged on case by case basis.
346  Economy / Reputation / Re: Standing Strong Against Unjust Attacks: A Call for Community Support on: February 19, 2024, 08:47:12 PM
I suggested to the OP to create such a thread, of course this should be enough to guide a path in case the accused somehow "manages" to creep into the DT network - literally no chance but just for caution.

It is fairly clear here as the account making the threats has got no substantial credibility to their accusations and blackjack.fun should now begin to "Ignore" this person and move on with the development of their own casino.
Good that OP made the thread. It thought you would have said the user called out by blackjack be ignored since they are not on DT and does not have the possibility of getting in any moment. Nice you didn't toe this path. That is how many people ignore users that left them negative tag because they do not possess DT power. Who knows how the coming years will be and they would my crook or whatever means gets into the DT and it will then be difficult to prove facts. Nice the thread is created since Blackjack has the vision of restarting promotion here.

About Op, I don't know him much. But the neutral tag left by nutildah could define something. But I am yet to understand how someone allows himself to be scammed frequently  Grin
Quote
While I do not trust users who allow themselves to be "scammed" so frequently, that in itself is not worthy of a negative trust. I do recommend avoiding engaging in any business with this user as they have an extremely poor attitude and tend to complain (a lot) if things don't go exactly as they hoped. Check previous feedback both given and received for examples.
347  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading psychology and TA on: February 19, 2024, 05:33:55 PM
I have observed great number of traders debate on the issue of having a solid psychology and right approach to trading better pay off than just relying on some Strong Technical Analysis but others don't believe in psychology they base there points on having a winning strategy and proper risk management
What's your take guy's...
Does Psychology exist or is just an illusion of you not  having the right approach and risk management, fundamentals...that affect your trades
What do you mean by psychological trading and the way you used it is somehow confusing. You mentioned it alongside technical analysis, making it look like (technical analysis and psychological analysis), while in the real sense, it is technical and fundamental analysis. We need to understand that whether technical analysis or fundamental analysis, psychology is both required. You cannot be successful in trading by only reading the charts and candlesticks without using your consciousness. In the real terms, psychology exists and not an illusion.

From my experience as a trader, I believe that both psychology and technical analysis play a crucial role in successful trading. Psychology helps control emotions and make informed decisions, but without a winning strategy and risk management, results can be unpredictable. Thus, it's essential to strike a balance between psychological resilience and technical knowledge.
Where then is the position of fundamental analysis. All these while, I have always read about fundamental and technical analysis debate and not technical and psychological.
348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop loss ? on: February 19, 2024, 04:48:39 PM
how do you use a stoploss
I don't know whether op is practically asking how to use stop loss, like he doesn't know where to find the function in an exchange. If that is the case, all you need to do is to read from the particular exchange you are using as many people have recommended. Just like the programmers depend on documentations to succeed, you need to read how different exchanges implement their tools.

But in the other hand, if the Op already knows how to use SL, but was only asking advanced ways to use it to put smart the market. Well, he needs to ask the pros. Iam not a good trader and I have been lazy to advance myself. But when I was trying out my hand on trading, I had some issues with SL and ended up not using it again until I stopped trading.

My experience with SL was horrible. It happens as if someone is always watching me, whenever I set my SL, it doesn't waste much time to trigger, but after that, the market will reverse and continue to green. It has happened to me multiple times. I then decided to stop using the SL and then, the worse happened.
349  Other / Meta / Re: Why suddenly Cloudflare Human Verification is Coming Up? on: February 19, 2024, 04:37:48 PM
I continue experiencing this after i closed my browser then open after several minutes and access bitcointalk, i guess i'm on my 3 days streak now.

Most reasons i found on the internet is cloudflare flagging the ip address in a certain level, idk the reason for mine and the others.
I experienced this yesterday when I wanted to access the forum. I didn't bother much about that because I was browsing from a strange location with poor network connection. I had suspected that it was due to poor network connections that made me experience that. This is my next time access the forum after leaving the strange location, I'll see if it persists. While many people have thought it's from the cloudfare side of the divide, I had thought it's from my own side and its network capacity.

Am I the only one facing this issue everytime I am trying to access the forum? Or everyone here is seeing the same screen. I am not trying to login as I have opted for Always stay logged in option. So, I am trying to only access the forum and everytime I do it I have to go through this shit. Is it because of DDos attack or @theymos is trying to control the bots that are spamming the forum. I would love to here your problem as for me it is making me irritate with constant verification screen. Infeel as if I need to prove  myself that I am human with this sudden change.
I previously tried the "stay logged in" option, but the additional verification steps involving wallet signature felt lengthy and inconvenient. I opted out since then, but I'm curious if the process has been streamlined or improved to be more user-friendly.
Did you actually mention wallet signature verification before you login to use the forum? Is theymos trying to implement something new from the backend which is the reason for is happening?
350  Other / Meta / Re: Why is this account still very active and not restricted or ban? on: February 18, 2024, 10:39:12 PM
I have reported his post from 2022 on our local board. I have reported current post of him on our local board. He is still active as per my understanding and the mods are least bothered. He has been spamming almost every board where he can find an opportunity. Considering his activities and his objective the account should be banned for good. If not then he will continue to promote his objective of selling account, which I feel would create a wrong impression among newbies.
I am very sure that moderators do not ban users based on account sales. So, in that aspect, he is free. The only punishment he should receive is the one he is suffering currently i.e red tag.

In terms of spamming, should I say that the moderators do not consider him a spammer or his type of spam isn't detrimental to the forum. Maybe if he shares link with suspected malware, he would be banned immediately.

Maybe if such a user is banned, he will just create more of similar accounts and continue their activity. Maybe the best thing to do is to contend them and use the red tag and flag to fight him.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 18, 2024, 10:31:58 PM

Manchester United have won the match against Luton Town in the Premier League competition. In the beginning, Manchester United have taken a 1-0 lead against Luton Town, and the scorer is Rasmus Højlund. Rasmus Højlund has scored in 6 straight Premier League matches. While in 7 minutes, Rasmus Højlund has scored twice for Manchester United to 2-0. And this goal almost could win the game for Luton Town but in 14 minutes, Carlton Morris, the Luton Town midfielder, has taken the lead and the score sheet goes to 2-1. This scored in until the 90th minute; no more goal from the underdog, and the Red Devil have won the match.
It seems that Manchester United has returned to their winning streak. I mean the days of agony might be over for my dear club Manchester United. When you check the table, Manchester United has won 4 of their last 5 matches and drew only 1 without losing any. This is a good result to build on and I believe that with the return of some injured players and commitment of some lazy players, Manchester United can make the top 4.

About the young Manchester United striker - Hojlund, it is just a wonder thing that has happened. We all could remember how long it took for him to net for Manchester United in the English Premier League. But as it stands now, he is among the frequents. And one more lucky thing is that Manchester United coach, Erik Ten Hang has declared that he has much confidence in the young striker
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just hold in patience, nothing can stop the raging bull when it comes on: February 17, 2024, 11:50:04 PM
FUD is an inevitable attribute of the cryptocurrency industry and also of the mother coin - bitcoin. People are always willing to jump in when the train is on the green lane. No matter how high it is, people will still jump in believing it will go more high. But when it is low, a few will buy while majority will think it will go low the more. So, only the people who has studied the nature of the market and stick with bitcoin make good profit from it.

We were all here when bitcoin was at the region of 15k, not quite long. Some others were waiting for it to hit 10k before they buy, others waited for 5k, a few started DCA while some but in bulk at the discounted price. That is how it works,any people missed the 25k region, 20k region, 30k region, 40k region and will also miss this 50k region. Maybe they will buy from 70k when there's a new ATH and the sell pressure at 100k might likely force the market back to bear and they'll panic and sell at lose.
353  Economy / Reputation / Re: Which campaign has the most spammers? on: February 17, 2024, 11:36:52 PM
We all know that quality of post in this forum is largely measured by the length of post.
Speak for yourself.

Campaign rules of 3 different managers in the forum;
Quote
♦️ 150 characters minimum. No links & overusing punctuation will count
Quote
▶️ Post must be minimum 150 characters long and constructive.
Quote
➥ Posts that do not carry a semantic load or posts whose content is less than 200 characters will not be paid.
354  Economy / Reputation / Re: Where do we draw a line? Signature campaigns or shilling campaigns on: February 17, 2024, 11:03:49 AM
More than 70% of the people that promotes different projects here do not test the projects and neither do they even visit the website.
Um....can I ask where you got that very specific statistic from?  I've no clue what the percentage is of member who have nothing to do with whatever they're promoting, but I'm guessing it's probably high and perhaps even near 70% but I'm curious as to where you pulled that number from.
LOL. I didn't know I was so specific. There's actually no data to back my claim but I guess probably high and even upto the aforesaid 70%

If you go to the gambling section which I believe you frequent because of the casino you promote, you will see many users on casino signatures but know nothing about gambling and probably do not even gamble.
I was doing a lot of post reviews in the gambling section before I made the decision to exclude that section from any future reviews, but honestly most of the posts I looked at were made by members who at least seemed to know about gambling, and quite a few of them seemed passionate about sports betting in particular.  Granted, I did not look at any other posts aside from those from the members who'd requested reviews, so my perception is probably very skewed.  One of the reasons I don't even consider joining a gambling-based sig campaign is because I don't gamble and any posts I would make in that section would be pure crap.

On the other hand, I have posted a few times when the topic of gambling addiction has come up because that interests me and I know a little bit about how harsh the consequences are and how brutally difficult it is to stop gambling.  Anyway.
Things have really changed in the gambling section these days. I made a post about stake campaign just above discussing same thing. Years ago when I was promoting Rollbit, there were many shit posts about sports betting. Some users do not even have a clue about the football clubs involved and the countries or leagues they belong. They will just read earlier few posts and generate a random reply from what has been said already. These days things have changed, which means the campaign managers have made some special kind of rules to combat spam. Also, even if I am not a Jollygood fan, I think he did some job to combat spammers, especially those that predicts match that has already been played and decided  Grin

Speaking of examples, imagine a football club that has signed a sponsorship contract with Adidas, and then one player goes out on the field wearing Nike football boots.
A much better example would be a football club sponsored by Coca-Cola, and the football player puts their bottle away during an interview Cheesy
But since there is no bad publicity, this got them much more attention and thus brand exposure than they would have gotten any other way.
Live example you gave. Ronaldo did it and it did cost coca cola.
355  Economy / Reputation / Re: Which campaign has the most spammers? on: February 17, 2024, 10:32:19 AM

I tried to apply to one campaign, but my attempts were unsuccessful. I decided that it was better to know where not to apply so as not to be in a party with spammers.

I have these to say;
  • Spam is an individual based crime and not a campaign based crime
  • Although some campaign rules can indirectly instigate spamming
  • Stake has been called out as a spam campaign, but I have these to say about stake
a. Stake minimum post to be paid is 25 posts which is ok. It is the bonus arrangement that makes her campaign participants wants to make upto 100 posts to have maximum pay.
b. Before now we could call stake campaign participants spammers but now they are no more. It seems that the manager made a certain rule that makes these guys post long wall of texts. I mean upto 80% of them write longer texts than myself. We all know that quality of post in this forum is largely measured by the length of post.
  • Spamming doesn't necessarily mean making upto 100 posts per week. Someone could make 100 posts without spamming while someone making 20 posts will spam
  • If anyone makes upto 100 posts without bursting (giving upto 5 mins wait time), and these posts are highly connected, I would not call that spamming
  • It should be called spamming when it is irrelevant or unsolicited
  • I do not see stake participants as spammers just like the then 1xbit. But if I were the manager, in order to erase the stake name in the mind of bitcointalk users whenever spam is mentioned. I'll simply rearrange the campaign to pay participants $100 if they make upto 50 posts, and maybe $125 if they can go 70 posts. The result will be same and the campaign will still dominate the gambling section.
As I said in my previous post, I am all open for suggestions.
356  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post quality matters than replying fast on: February 16, 2024, 11:58:00 PM
I've took noticed that alot of users are always in a hurry to reply a post expecially newbies, I know it is a good strategies to always try to make your reply to be among the first or at least fifth position, because it would make it easier for other users to see and to read it. But in a scenario whereby er came across a post and reply fast without having clear understanding about that post such reply may be seen as off-topic or not contributing at all. And if such act continue as your post are always around the first-fifth position it may lead to you being ignored by other users.
Some of the high rank members from Snr members do this often than newbies. I am not sure newbies have this idea that the first responses get the merits. Any newbie that has this idea must have been told by the higher ranked members or the newbie isn't a genuine newbie. Talking about being in a haste to reply posts, some people have been mentioned severally in the reputation board for this purpose. Yet, the act keeps happening.
Most times, the idea is not to read others opinion and enjoy the conversation naturally. The idea is to earn as much merits as possible and rank up as fast as possible. Since there is an edit button in the forum, they could just type rubbish, submit and later edit it and let it be the first post in the thread.
The way to stop this act is to start denying the first few responses merits. But then the forum cannot do that, so we should just learn how to live with that.
357  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CORRECT AND NOT ATTACK on: February 16, 2024, 11:49:24 PM
Newbie should be corrected and not to be use to earn merits, most of the top rank members earn most of their merits from attacking and reporting newbie.
While this might sound unreal, it is very true. I have faced such a challenge while I was a lower ranked member. Some of the established members does nothing else than to bash the newbies. When they ask innocent questions, they take advantage of the question to earn merits to themselves and demarket the questionair who is the Op. These things happen, but if you are not sensitive enough, you will not understand. A post that ought to get merits, but due to the first responder was hash and negative towards the Op, no one will drop a single merit for Op. Unless in a rare case that people like DdMrDdMr will.

IMPORTANT OF TOP RANK MEMBERS
Before you are been named or given a rank I believe you have pass through many challenges, obstacles before reaching the level you are now. I believe there is a reason why you are at that level. they are vital importance of being a top rank members
1: To guide and not to judge
2: To support
3: To Teach and so many more

I believe that Bitcoin talk forum is a home of knowledge and knowledge is acquired and distributed.

Some established members do the above while some newbies are so adamant. And in some cases they turn to be teaching the established members how the forum works. Things like this are offensive, especially for people who have been long here and know how unreal some newbies are
358  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Preventive measures not to lose your btc on: February 16, 2024, 11:29:58 PM
Over the time I have seen established and experienced members in cryptocurrency business advising the newbies on how to avoid scam. But in the end the number of newbies falling for scam keeps increasing as if they are deaf to advices. What happen is that the newbies think that the established members are preventing them from making money. In the end they get scammed and definitely learn from their mistakes. That is why if I advice and they don't take, I'll simply wait till they fall victim and learn from their mistake.

One aspect many of you are ignoring is investing in shitcoins, coins that promises unrealistic return on investment... this is similar to ponzi schemes because they always end up as scam. The founders will collect your precious Bitcoin and hand over to you a bag of shitcoins that if not sold immediately you see in the market, they will turn to worthless bag of shit. I think this should be the most convincing and diplomatic way of losing ones BTC.  They leverage on the greed in humans to get their victims. It is important to note that BTC is enough for anyone looking for a genuine investment that will give good profits.
Many people do not actually know that this is scam. I have seen people create scam coins, make money from it and in the end they get glorified by the society that they are into bitcoin. While in the real sense they are scammers.
359  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which sort of investor are you? on: February 13, 2024, 02:53:11 PM
To me that is not correct Trading is all about your proficiency and apprehending and how you control your frights and tolerance, and I think your tough labor amounts to something a lot too.

Trading is not all about buying low and selling high. There's more to trading and the others are among the things that shapes a trader. These are;
  • Experience
  • Patience
  • Technical know how
  • Risk management
You can have a very good knowledge of trading, but your emotions is poor to keep you going or you are very impatient. So, a good trader must have these attributes in a right proportion in order to be successful on the long run.

Through experience, knowledge and mistakes you can build your own reputation and which kind of trader are you if you know yourself already where is the most suitable and effective for you, could be in business, stocks, real estate, or crypto there are other forms but of course, we are in crypto. In investment, there's always a risk but you can lessen the percentage of it if you know already the possible outcomes, and proper preparation if you keep pursuing this or not at least you learn something if you fail. If you succeed go you can continue if not you can cut loss and take another risk.
Some people know how to join but do not know when it is necessary to exit. At a time, everyone has laid their hands on trading, either as a noob or experienced. Some have failed and exited trading knowing too well it is not their thing. But some are still forcing themselves to be successful in something they know not how to handle. To this people, failure is inevitable on the long run.
360  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why are people getting scared to Trade on: February 13, 2024, 02:25:51 PM
Is it because these "people" are afraid to trade or they do not believe they can make money from trading? Don't get me wrong, I understand that this can also generate passive income, but what I'm curious about is whether these activities truly yield significant profits or not.
There are more than one way to make money. Because you see some people looking for a means to make money, that does not mean they do not have other means that they are using to earn money. You can not just conclude that they are not trading because you see them looking for airdrops. But it is good to know that most traders are not making money, many are even losing. Trading can not be for everybody because it is very risky.
There could be many reasons why many people do not actually trade or why they stopped trading, some of the reasons could be;
  • Impatience to learn how to trade
  • Lossing more often than they win
  • Emotional imbalance
  • Trading not their thing
Why I personally stopped trading is fear. I am not sure I am using the right word to describe this. I have phobia for trading and this was induced in me from forex trading. I lost more than expected in forex trading, so anything involving candlesticks terrifies me.
