341  Economy / Gambling / Bitcoin Casino Ideas on: September 02, 2014, 01:19:13 PM
Hi all,

I've been quite the frequent gambler of some of our most popular BTC Casinos, some advertised on this very forum (Just-Dice was a favorite, now it's Dicebitcoin).

I'm more than capable of creating these websites myself however it would be pointless as it's already crazy over-populated.

Anyone here have any suggestions on something unique? My objective would be to create an environment with the fairest odds possible so anything that involves betting against the house (me) would be out of question as I obviously don't want to go broke!

Current ideas:
PvP of some sort? perhaps something like Primedice's new game?
A unique sort of poker? (currently pondering ideas with other members of the BTCtalk community)
A multi-betting dice platform (several players all betting against each other at once, one winner)

These are all very beta-stage ideas and I've got no idea how I'd develop them further however if I get enough interest or demand for something particular I'll try my best to cater for it.

The idea here is more for my own personal development then profit.

Post away!

344  Economy / Services / Re: Hiring for Services on: September 02, 2014, 12:29:04 PM
Depends on the quality of service you want lol, your price may get a grad student in literature however for 1/4 you may get a highschool student who's just bored but has bad grammar.

Pretty strange to see so many people happy about proving a 15 year old wrong on forums lol.

Funny looking at his last activity date though.
347  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price is being manipulated so hardcore right now... on: August 30, 2014, 02:12:15 AM
Actually I think the price atm is the real value, $600+ was the manipulated price and I guess they decided to cash in..

the term is cash out, but either way thats a stretch to think 500 is a more natural price than 600, when 500 only came about because of a whale making huge market sell orders specifically to scare everyone into getting out.
1. To withdraw from a venture by or as if by settling one's account.
2. Informal To obtain a profit or other advantage by timely exploitation: Profiteers cashed in during the gasoline shortage.

It can be argued the same whale caused the massive buy out when it was originally $450 and caused the price to rise to $600

So is the fiat scamming business....particularly the banks & credit card companies who are getting away with it daily. What's your point?

Your post comes off as very biased, it can be argued that banks are getting hacked because of technology, BTC is a technology therefore implying the same can happen but more effectively as we wouldn't only be losing information....
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bandcamp and Bitcoin on: August 26, 2014, 01:02:38 PM
I've said this before, REALLY surprised a company like this hasn't hopped on the BTC wagon yet especially considering the decline in the music industry when combined with fiat currencies.

1. Inside job
2. Company lied about their security
3. He's jesus

You decide.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin slowly losing its popularity? on: August 24, 2014, 12:31:10 PM
Not a chance, it'll fade when it's a symbol of everyday life and nobody finds stuff like "Dell accept bitcoins!" amazing, just like the internet.

357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why we shouldnt worry if Amazon doesnt accept btc! on: August 19, 2014, 11:21:09 AM
Why would anyone be worried? Bitcoin has survived, in fact THRIVED without them - if anything Amazon should be worried that the BTC community won't accept them.
358  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to query a wallet into finding out how much $$ it has on: August 19, 2014, 11:14:51 AM
Does anyone know how I can achieve this? briefly had a look through blockchain but not sure where to start...

Its not possible for wallets*, but for addresses. I made a little java tool [1] a while back (sadly for an idiot, but maybe it can help you) that takes a list of addresses, checks blockchain.info's API for the balance and writes it into a file. You could use that to get the balances for each of your addresses and make a sum of the result to know how much BTC is in your wallet. But honestly, why does your wallet client not show the amount of BTC you have?

*wallets do not exist on a protocol level, but are an abstraction to help humans handle multiple addresses and keys.
