Thanx guys for all of your replies. I do believe the thief attacked me through my email. I have another email accout and it is a google one. Is it possible for me to switch my email account without having to create a totally different account?

@ Graet,
Yes I did use the same password at other sites and yes I have changed my password.

Here is the bogus addresses for everyone to see.
False Bitcoin Address : 1AzUM6p7DdxBDHaMCnk7nmAcbFRXzotuoU
False Namecoin Address : NAiW3cn2rdhW9TP9HSVWTr4QaEAev6NfTd

Also, has anyone ever thought of creating a database of know addresses that have been involved with scams or robberies?
It would be awesome if you could insert an address into a little program, press enter, and the program spit out a result letting you know if that address is in the database and has been known to be used for scams in the past.

Hello everyone,
This is my first post since my newb status has finally passed although I have been reading these posts since about 2 months ago. Yesterday I finally registered in these forums because I noticed I had been robbed of a bitcoin while mining in slush's pool. Apparently someone had changed my bitcoin and namecoin address and also unchecked the box that notifies me when I have had a payout. So of course as soon as I noticed everything I immediately changed both addresses to the correct ones and then checked my emails because I receive emails almost anytime I alter my account there. Then it dawned on me, "Why didn't I receive emails when my addresses were changed just a few days earlier by the bandit?" So I tried to notify Slush about this and he responded but I don't really understand what his email is trying to tell me. Hopefully he can figure out what happened because I am stumped. I keep thinking about it and I can only think of 2 ways this could have happened.

1. The bastard whole stole my bitcoin also checked my email and deleted the two emails notifying me of the address changes a few days ago.

2. This is the work of a hacker who was able to prevent the emails from ever being sent.

Either way I hope slush can figure this out and I hope this hasn't happened to anyone else. I love mining in Slush's pool and hope to never experience this ever again.

I really do think this might be happening to others right now and goes deeper than just someone else knowing my password. The reason I believe this is because anytime you change your wallet address you will receive an email with a link in it. Not only did I not receive an email once for the bitcoin address change, I didn't receive one for my namecoin address change either. As soon as I noticed the problem and changed the addresses back to the correct ones...I immediately received the verify emails for both types of addresses. Unless the person went into my emails and deleted them before I checked my emails, I believe they are working internally and preventing the verify emails from being sent to account holders.

I hope I am wrong and this is and isolated incident but if someone could please contact slush and get him to start looking into this asap that would be awesome. I can't post yet in the slush pool forum because I just registered, any help would be awesome. Thank you everyone for responding to my posts.

For about the first six weeks of mining I was only using a radeon 4850 getting about 92 mh/s. Almost 2 weeks ago I bought a radeon 5850 for $137.50 and it produces about 383 mh/s. The combined 475 mh/s has started giving me a bitcoin in a little over 3 days depending on how lucky slush's pool is. Needless to say I'm pretty bummed about losing 20% of my total earned bitcoins. Just to let you know the person had unchecked the box that says something like "notify me by email when I receive a payout". I still haven't heard back from anyone yet about the issue, but it's only been about 4 or 5 hours since I emailed them about it. I hope this hasn't happened to many people. One more thing before I go....I'm seriously really surprised that this happened to me because I figured I wouldn't even be considered for such an attack because of how slow my current mining speeds and the fact that I have my threshold at 1. Seriously 1 Freaking bitcoin? Talk about a desperate little coward and a pitiful excuse for a thief!

Someone just stole from me by changing my wallet address on slush's pool. Wish I could meet that person face to face. I wonder if that person would trust me...not to hit him with the baseball bat I would be holding.

Hi, I finally just registered on this forum...something I should have done months ago. The reason I finally chose today is because someone changed my bitcoin address on my profile on slush's pool. I only lost 1 bitcoin today because of it, but that is 1 bitcoin more than I wanted to lose! I am in the process of changing my password, but the site is not letting me do so. I fear maybe the website has been hacked. Hopefully I hear back from someone soon. Just letting you guys know
