Is your main method of contact a personal message to HashFast bitcointalk.org user?  I'm not finding any email addresses posted.  I can understand not giving dev crew's out, but shouldn't John give his?  I've searched this forum, google, their homepage, and there is no contact info.  At only a couple months out from shipping, I guess I would expect to be able to contact someone directly.  How can people come up with 500K without asking a few basic questions?

Until a little bit more information is released this is just speculation on speculation, but I'm setting up a Group Buy to start organizing interested parties, as people learn of this.

Send him a PM he's usually good to reply here, but I also expect this week has been quite busy for them so give it some time..  I could give you his cell phone # but then I would have to kill u Smiley j/k..

345  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [SHIPPING MONDAY] #15 ASICMiner Erupter USB - .55 btc 1,750+ shipping on: August 01, 2013, 05:35:18 AM
I've been thinking of getting a few of this device.  Though I've been mining for a year now, I've been relying on GUIMiner to run my GPUs (which have worked well for me) just because I'm CLI-challenged and dread the thought of it (cgiminer, bfgminer, etc.).  Is there an instruction or tutorial somewhere on how to setup these babies that I can peruse beforehand and see if I'm up to the challenge?  Smiley
bfgminer is super easy.  so is cgminer

run "bfgminer.exe -G -S all" that's it... -G is to ignore GPUs if you wish to run on the same box and keep using GUIminer for GPUs.
see this page here: http://eligius.st/~gateway/products/block-erupter-sapphire
before running bfgminer, install the driver listed on the above link

So, I got my single BE from this buy to play around with and to learn on (ordered more in #16).  As stated above, I'm trying to run it in a box which is GPU mining via a stratum proxy (Slush's) using GUIMiner.  I installed the Silicon Labs driver and it does show up under "Devices and Printers".  I then created a .bat file within the bfgminer (v3.1.3-win64) folder and created a shortcut on the desktop.  However, when I run the .bat file, the console just pops up for a second and closes.  With me being extremely CLI-challenged, I'm sure I missed something somewhere.  Based on Canary's comment/advice above, this is what I concocted in the .bat file:

bfgminer -G -S all stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u workername -p workerpassword

So, where did I screw up?  Smiley

346  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoind taking up 380megs or more.. ?? on: July 31, 2013, 08:23:28 PM
Hi, im running the release  "version" : 80300, compiled from source from github on a ubuntu 12.04.x server

After all the data was downloaded the memory usage sits at around 380megs .. any reason this is so high w/o anything going on yet.. ?

and htop says..

347  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Computing guestimated ROI Change from blocks on: July 31, 2013, 08:18:24 PM
The most basic estimate is to look at the amount of blocks mined since the last diff-change and the elapsed time. Divide 10 by the average time per block (in minutes) since the last diff-change and multiply the result with the current difficulty and you obtain an estimate for the next difficulty. Since the network actually computes the new difficulty this way when a change occurs, this estimate gets very accurate close to a change. But early in a cycle, it can swing wildly.

hmm thanks.. lookign into that.. im seeing something weird on a test recent blocks timestamp diff was a negative value how is that so?
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 31, 2013, 08:09:59 PM

Any reason not to go with eclipses DGM pool at 0% rather than KNC's pool at 1.5%?
I'm guessing the latency difference would be below a few dozen milliseconds.
And, is latency much of an issue when using getblocktemplate?

Those with KNCminers coming, what pool's have you considered?

I will be mining at Eligius.st pool..
349  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: July 31, 2013, 06:50:50 PM
So I have had the pleasure of hanging out with the HashFast guys last sat for several hours discussing various topics from the tech to this forum Smiley I have known John for several years and did business with him in the past and hes a a fair guy and always a pleasure to do business with.

Simon and Eduardo are very smart cookies and its nice to see a company from the Bay Area producing chips/products.

These guys are legit, and while under NDA I cant talk to much about what they are up to but im very excited to see such next gen stuff coming out for people here that are mining from the low end guys to the big boys who always try to buy everything they can Tongue

What they have coming I'm deff waiting in line for and I think everyone will be buzzing when they release the info of their first product.

So just kinda throwing my hat in the ring here to verify that these guys are not some fly by night company.

Cheers guys and cant wait to have another 400Gh/s device mining away in the next few months.. or what ever the time release is Tongue
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin memory usage on: July 31, 2013, 06:10:27 PM
I just found this thread cause im seeing bitcoind "version" : 80300, take up 391 megs on the server, its just idle, we compiled it from git and ran it, after it caught up on the blocks its just taking up so much memory, anyone know why or have a solution? ..

Server Ubuntu 12.04.x
351  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: July 31, 2013, 02:00:34 AM
i spent the day there yesterday.  got a chance to meet all the team and spent good time with Eduardo and Simon, the principals.  sitting down with ppl and looking them in the eye speaks volumes.

these guys are legit and the Hashfast office is embedded within Uniquify physically.  their team was hard at work.   was fortunate to also speak to some of the important Uniquify ppl as well.  they truly have the customer in mind first and foremost.

they are doing extraordinary things and i am looking forward to the next generation of ASIC mining.

Yep I agree..

btw followed your link in your sig, makes my head spin like your avatar coin Smiley
352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Details needed for Cunningham Chain world record list on: July 31, 2013, 12:35:23 AM
How are new records verified, is their some code that can do a test against this? I was going to set up a site specifically for primecoin found ones and display this data free for all, but have no idea to know if beat a record for cunningham 1 or 2 or bitwin..

any ideas?

355  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Computing guestimated ROI Change from blocks on: July 30, 2013, 09:36:10 PM
I'm wanting to work on spitting out some data into a table of current block, block hight, and guestimated diff change.. anyone know of a formula or that could be used to calculate this based upon of course best guess.

Right now I have this data at least getting spit out:

Current Block = 249313
Current Difficulty = 31256960.727769
Current Block Hash = 000000000000006c911cddd6813dd4c680c6b8f3915c853992e1ca15eaa36a3d
Current Block Hash Time = 1375219808 or July 30, 2013, 2:30 pm
Last Block at current Difficulty = 249983
Next Difficulty at Block at = 249984
Next Difficulty in 671
Next Difficulity in 4 days 15 hours 50 minutes

any advice?
356  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: July 30, 2013, 09:16:54 PM
It's not a scam. It's a legitimate company - I talked with Mr.Bateman and he confirmed that 400g/h miners will be available November 2013 at $4-5k usd.

This means miners of 1 T/Hs or more will be sold for the price of one 500g/h BFL miner

Wow... this is the first useful information found in this thread.

Now it gets interesting!

Has KNC reached tapeout yet?

I have asked the same question several times over the last days as well..

The natives are getting restless KNC Smiley
No, only the people that don't understand concepts like "September delivery" are getting restless. We are in July.

Well almost August, with September not to far away  Wink

Lets just see what comes out next from these guys, I know everyone is gun shy esp after people like bfl paved the way of crapping all over their customers, now everyone is quick to judge the next guy...
