Maybe this could also be a ploy to let loose hands sell their bitcoin so the Chinese can buy at a cheaper rate...? Hold your coins, guys and buy more!

Bitcoin is facing a very hard time for now and it seems that it will go in this rough phase for a long time now. I even doubt that Bitcoin will go below 2500 or even 2000 mark because of this big collapse of the markets and exchanges. This decision of China has placed a huge panic for exchanges as they don't want to loose their money and thus are selling all their Bitcoins and stop dealing with any Bitcoin related trades now. This phase can be a very hard phase for Bitcoin but it will make those people richer who will hold their Bitcoins.
Bloomberg speculates.... good time to buy.

that is just their exchange service due to regulations which they have to legally close down the business to answer to the authorities for running a business without proper legal licenses.
besides ViaBTC exchange was mostly a joke created to promote certain bitcoin forks such as bitcoin unlimited and then bitcoin cash, as they were the first ones to add BCH to their exchange with no volume ever.
i agree, it's just the exchange. mining pool will still run.

It's because of the massive sells in the Chinese exchanges like BTC China and ViaBTC. These two exchanges have announced their closure on Sept. 30 and have advised traders to move their assets and/or cash out before the said date. The dip is a good opportunity for us to buy.
At the moment, only two exchanges have announced their closure on Sept. 30th. That BTC China, and ViaBTC. Are there any other Chinese exchanges that expressed the same?
Bitcoin will still survive, I think. The dips that bitcoin is experiencing now is all because of the massive sells in Chinese Exchanges because they have until Sept. 30th to cash out. ViaBTC announced that they're closing on Sept. 30 and so is BTCC. I suppose there are more Chinese exchanges to follow. So when that's all done, it's a good opportunity for us to buy and then perhaps, bitcoin price will pull back and rise higher.

I first started learning about and following altcoins at the end of March, 2017. This was a mere 6 months ago and the litecoin price was about $4. It's up over 1000% since then. And to think this thread started over 3 years ago with the opinion that Litecoin was dead.
The successful bitcoin fork was the beginning of the end for litecoin. how can it be successful when the confirmation times for bitcoin haven't changed? and the fees are still quite high.... litecoin on the the other hand, offers faster transaction and confirmation times and is currently in 5th spot as per market cap and the transaction fees are minimal. so it isn't dead or the end in my opinion
Perhaps price will go down to $3000 until the market adjusts to whatsisname's statements on bitcoin and china's ban on ICOs and bitcoin(?).... and then there's also that other fork in november..... that's market response. when everything settles, bitcoin could pick up from where it left off and then continue its rise.

Noojna, surely you have direct communication with Benjie Pacheco? Maybe it wouldnt hurt to ask if he needs help? Maybe we have folks in this community who can pull some strings thatll help connect pesobit to businesses and establish use... maybe call for a meeting and talk abt this and the means to make this move forward.

Probably a result of the btc spike... perhaps they cant keep up with the number of traders cashing out or moving btc somewhere else...

Been gone a long time and bounties have not yet been paid to participants (like me 😜) lol. Wondering.... when will we ever get our payments?

If trading volume doesn't improve, pretty soon psb will be .... don't want to say it, but I'm sure you guys get it. If we lose this exchange, where else to go? Does Lutzow still have a team with him? I hope he's still dedicated to this project, otherwise, a lot of the folks who bought in when price was .90 to 1.03 would be screaming bs....

EPIC FAIL! Bitmain Cash has less then 5% of Bitcoins hash power. I'm calling it this thing its fucking dead in the water. There is absolutely no hope for this shit coin.
Even if it manages to produce a block in the next 24 hours it can't survive unless it gains a huge amount of hash power.
Perfect I did expect this, but now I can be sure If BCC will cost more it is better for everone. Isnt it? How you like the price now? On Kraken it rise from 100$ to 600$. exchange rates a few minutes ago...

Someone say yes someone say no. Explain me in scientific way. yes or no?
ETC(ETH classic) and ETH(real ETH) Don't mean to offend but I don't quite agree with that -- dubbing real eth and the other unreal? Etc maintained the original chain while Eth was the edited chain but was supported by the majority - hence carried the original ETH ticker and name. As with bitcoin (BTC), the majority supported segwit activation to upgrade bitcoin and so, the name and ticker of bitcoin is applied to the chain that the majority supports. For me, BTC and BCH are both real - coming from the same chain. The other has been labeled an alt because it's the minority chain. Question is, would it thrive? It's trading at BitTrex and the price is moving up fast. Earlier it was at $400 now up $524.51 https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/bch/markets/USD

It's trading live at BitTrex and the price is moving up fast... From $200 something, it has gone up to $511.75 and still moving up... It's a bubble, right? How low would it go when bubble gets pricked? Would it survive --- and thrive? I suppose it would. Etc was a minority chain, and it's thriving. Perhaps BCH will too.
