3401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best coins to short as hedge on: December 23, 2021, 09:55:08 PM
So I feel like I'm taking too much risk, by hodling lots of cryptocurrencies, and in case a bearmarket begins I'd like to hedge my positions and open some shorts, much less than my hodlings, but still significant.

But what coins would be good for that? What coins would go down more than others in a bearmarket?

I'm thinking perhaps Solana as it's so high, but its direct competitors (Avax, Luna, Polkadot are better in essence)

But there must be many more coins that will go down. What about Shiba Inu? I'm always worried for a sudden Robinhood listing though, as they did with DOGE.

What can you guys come up with?

Short doge against the bitcoin pairing.  With 10k new doge per minute in supply it doesn't take much for it to drag it down.  And it hedges against bitcoin usd going up.  Doge can go up 20% in usd but stay flat bitcoin.  Easiest short out there.

Luka Doncic. As soon as he was cleared to play after an injury, now he is suffering from health and safety protocol. This kid had missed a lot of games already and his road for winning the MVP race is slimming down. Another 10 days so how many games will that be.
Giannis also hit by the virus and 2 more games was postponed. Is this a sign to go back in the bubble or will they just keep on postponing games until they were all cleared?
It's a good start but everything is falling apart this mid season and we might even see a bad All Star game if this continues.

It's definately falling apart.  I'm not a fan of the bubble, I got disinterested in basketball without fans.  It seems like practice without anyone in the stands.  Not that there is a perfect answer but I say they roll with the season as is and just manage.  The league will get watered down but it's way better than trying to watch bubble ball.

Cleveland will have a game today, playing against the Boston Celtics on the road, what do you think is the right bet here?

I'm thinking of Cleveland handicap of +6.5 because they are too good at covering the spread.
Does it fit your analysis guys?
I'm also leaning on the plus points at first but after checking the injury report i've changed my pick to Celtics. The Cavaliers are missing one too many players and I think they'd easily lose by double digits.

Not a good bet mate, Cleveland loses by 10 points and that means our bet loses as well. Til next time, I'm not done with the Cleveland Cavaliers, I'm sure they will bounce back if not win the game at least they'll cover as they'll still be the underdog next game and that is against the Raptors.

The cavs lost cause they were down some big men.  If cavs are at full strength they will be favorites.  New covid world we live in where every night in the winters will be different lineups depending on who is available lol.  Crazy.

If BTC manages to pull off another good price surge just be ready to pull some profits because that could be the last surge to unlocking the real bear market that everyone thinks it's never going to happen again, we seem to be too forgetting, when bull market comes it always feel like it's here to stay and when bear market comes it always feel like it's the end, don't get too carried away

This should be a foregone conclusion.  Noakes could ever be in a consistent bull market and the way the market has been over the last year everyone should expect a pullback of some sort.  Not be pessimistic but the world economy has yet to see a pullback due to the pandemic because we have propped it up but it's coming for sure.

Honestly I don't even know how espn leagues work.  It's a combination of 2 weeks?  If that's the case next year we should change it to not have the last game of the year count for the finals.  A lot of teams who have their seeding solidified in the last week rest their star players so they can heal up and not take a chance to get hurt.  Is it a 2 week average?

And yeah you need like 4 rushing tds from Stafford tonight!

morvillz7z explained it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224503.msg58650233#msg58650233

It's a sum of points for two weeks (15-16) for the semifinal match, and the sum of weeks 17-18 for the final... yeah it's a bit of a gamble with the last two weeks but the way this season is going it's likely that we won't have many clinched teams resting their players. I wouldn't be against changing it next year though.

I've never been in a 2 week average league for playoffs, it's kind of cool and eliminates the chance of "one bad week".  But the last game we definately should avoid.  If a team like kc locks up 1st place by the end of the year you can see mahomes maybe playing a half game, t hill our for the game, Kelly, etc so they get some extra rest.  I'm down for whatever only a suggestion it has definately burned people in some past.leagues I was in.
3406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 23, 2021, 03:44:23 PM
2 games that I like and took the early bet.
LA Lakers versus Phoenix Suns - Suns -6.5 With Booker back that kind of spread will be easy to achieve. Lakers stars will need to step up their game if they want to have a close game. I am expecting JaVale McGee to have his quality minutes again. Also, note Lakers had been hit by health and safety protocol for most of their players.

Dallas Mavericks versus Minnesota Timberwolves. T'Wolves -1.5. Anthony Edwards is still at health and safety protocols but Luka for the Mavs is also out and KP is questionable to play the game. I think KAT and DLo could handle it.

There's a bunch of players out on each side of the Tims and mavs game, I was leaning towards the Wolves but it's just too many people out to figure out how that game will play out.  I got 2 games tonight (possibly)

I like the Knicks-7 at home against Detroit.  I know the Knicks are struggling but they should be able to knocks off the Pistons fairly easily if everyone is playing up to par

Second game I like is the Portland and NO game.  NO is favored by 2.5, I like Portland if Dame is playing but if he is out I'm putting my money on NO at home.  All hinged on dames outlook.

Good luck tonight everyone!

1-1 last night Portland stayed true on the road lol.

Anyway tonight's games I like 3 of them:

Hawks -7 at home against Orlando, think Trae goes off in this one for a home blowout
Bucks -9.5 at home against the Rockets.  Love giannis at home under 10 points against a young team.  He should dominate the paint here
And gimme the cavs ML on the road against the celts.  Cavs are rolling and think they can straight out win.  They are getting 6.5 points so the ML pays out big here.

Good luck everyone!

1-2 last night.  There were a lot of players out that I wasn't expecting which definately altered these games.  This whole covid issue is gon a be wreckless over the next couple of months.  Not knowing who is in and who is out.  Trae was out for the Hawks which I thought he was playing.  And a couple big men for the cavs were out which definately affected that game.  Meh oh well that's betting I guess lol.  Will give it another go tonight Smiley
3407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 23, 2021, 03:38:11 PM
Joe Johnson coming out of retirement to sign a 10-day contract with the Celtics at 40 years old is something else.  I wonder if he's going to be able to make an impact and if this is a real signing to improve the team or a precaution because of all the players sitting out constantly with covid related issues.  One thing is for sure, Iso Joe being back in the league is a welcome sight for players and he has been a staple in the league for some time.  I personally will never forgive him for leaving the Suns, but I'm glad he's back.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-world-reacts-to-the-joe-johnson-news/ar-AAS3YId?ocid=msedgntp

No impact. He's done for. No offense to his fans but it's just the same as other common players who are drafted by any teams with a short-term contract. He's already 40 years of age so what can we expect. Even the most potential and still young Tacko Fall just become a bench player. Brad Stevens is so strict to his lineup.

A great chance for him however as even for a 10-day contract, there's a designated salary for it.

Agreed.  The speed of the NBA is what these old but goodies can't keep up with.  On offense I'm sure he can still shoot the lights out it's like riding a bike.  It's the defensive liability he will be.  Especially at the guard position. Drive and kick all day against these dudes as the rest of the team needs to collapse the paint which opens up shooters.  Unless covid hits hard he will sit pine I would imagine.

Enjoy getting crushed by Maddogs in the finals Wink

Wheelz is only 16 points behind me, and he's been known to pile on the hurt.  I'm not holding my breath about reaching the final.  But yeah.  Nutildah.

It seems unfair, I demand Nutildah get his ass back here and explain himself.  That's going to be a difficult points spread to overcome.
Nice try, but nutildah seems to be sufficiently pissed at this shithole of a forum and will just quietly beat us up Smiley

Hey now!  All forums are shitholes, but this one is our shithole.

I don't know this is how ff goes.  Lay down some big numbers then come dec/Jan teams change.  This was definately the lowest of the year.  Mcvay ran out Michel a lot in lieu of Henderson which kind of f'd me.  Will be a fun week to see how this all shapes up!  Good luck all..

Hi everyone. I am planing to invest 30 000usd. The  money will NOT be devided, the whole amount will be invested in just one coin/token
So which one should i choose,  any 10x coin for the future?
Thanks for your advices.

Edit:Thanks a lot guys.I have plenty of other coins,as well.So i would like to invest in a single project or token otherwise the profil is not like i've expected. Thanks a lot for all the advices.

If you are just getting into the market then your only answer is bitcoin.  Start there and go from there.  Bitcoin is the safest bet to 10x at some point in time.  All other altcoins are usually dumped to 90% of their ath.  And looking how the market looks right now you are gonna want to tuck it into a safer position than a risky one.  Good luck!

Crypto continues dropping these few weeks which is more than a manipulation or a correction. It seems that crypto continues to crash and no chance for pump up in these few days. Is the bearish market starting? Or that’s the end of crypto?
Could anyone answer me?

This is normal operating proceedure.  Is this the end of crypto, lol.  No not by any means.  There is no investment vehicle that goes up forever.  There are pull backs and bear markets for every market including crypto.  Are we entering a bear market?  That is the real question, and I think we are.  A lot of things are gonna get hammered in 2022 including crypto.  Strap in and enjoy the ride down!

Yeah my team of course took a nose dive this week.  I need a HUGE game out of Henderson in the rams game.  Talking 2 tds and 100 plus scrimmage yards.  Only good thing is Seattle is awful on run defense hopefully mcvay pounds the ball all game.  Good luck to everyone if you still got some guys going tonight.

I have a good chance to make my humiliating defeat even worse. If Stafford does well, chances are that Jefferson/Kupp will outscore him due to the way yards and touchdowns count for QBs vs WRs. So my best bet is for Stafford to fizzle out but not before he gets into field goal range but no further than 36 yard line, 10 times...

... yeah I'm done.

Chicago Bulls got another win by defeating the team at the last place in the Western Conference, Houston Rockets. Since Harden left the team, Rockets have been falling apart and we see this clearly in their performances. They won only 10 times in 31 games so far. And they lost this game by 133-118 also. Bulls continue chasing the leader team which are Brooklyn Nets now. They revolutionized their roster and they have its benefits this season a lot.
As usual, DeRozan had another great game with 26 points, I think he will never fall below with the 20+ points per game and he is having a great season with the team that clearly fits for him, I'm sure everyone can see that. No Lavine, no problem for the Bulls, they still win easily.
I am actually kind of surprised that they are winning with great performances without Lavine. As it is mentioned, DeRozan is stepping up big time and doing a great job. Even though Houston Rockets started quite shaky to the season with young players and kind of a brand new roster, they had just started to win some games, but they were no match with the Bulls team in Chicago. Nevertheless, I am paying attention to Rockets' rookie Alperen Sengun and it seems like he has great potential. Already playing not bad for a 19 years old rookie.

Chicago Bulls have improved their team play so much that they still manage to win their games without one of their important players. Maybe Rockets weren't a very tough opponent for them as they are the worst now but still every team can beat each other in NBA anytime. Bulls' regular season performance has been really great so far. And I wonder whether they will be able to keep this up in the playoffs too.

They are built to be solid in the playoffs too.  I would say teams that are too reliant on one thing like 3s can crash and burn easy in the playoffs but guys lime derozen and lavine are built for the playoffs since they can create their own shots and not rely on spot shooting.  Don't know the odds but throwing some loot down on the Bulls to win the Eastern Conference isn't too bad of a bet right now.

Maddogs went from not setting their lineup in one week, and almost not making the playoffs to...umm, 150 projected fantasy points against the 1st seed. Cheesy
The Maddogs are without a doubt the dark horse of our FF league, they have scored more than 100 points on 10 of the 15 weeks we have been playing, they are the second best scoring team and yet they lost 7 games, even if we discard the game they lost by not setting their lineup at best they could be 8-6, which means they were just unlucky during the whole regular season.

And about my match with Hueristic, things are not looking good for the Cows, I am losing by 3.5 points and Hueristic still has a RB to play, if the difference grows by more than 10 points my chances of winning go down the drain as there will be no way for me to overcome that handicap.

Now I'm beating myself up for not starting the NO D/ST against the Bucs, lol.

If I'm not mistaken last time Bucs were shut out was in 2012 (also a December game against Saints), and last shutout for Brady was in 2006 (?).

My take away from that is that I should have known it was statistically unlikely for that to continue, and the streak(s) would end tonight.  Thanks, I was just about to ease up on myself.

Pretty strange weekend so far with Cards and the Bucs sucking lemons.  Dallas is sitting as the number 2 seed at the moment...  Could you imagine that?  The NFC Least could take the top seed if the 'Girls keep winning and the Packers drop one.

If Greenbay wins all remaining games and Tampa Bay wins their games on week 16-17 and the Cowpersons and the Cardinals win their games on week 16, then the game on week 17 with the Cowpersons and the Cardinals will decide who will be seed number 2 in NFC. Is this correct, accurate?

@wheelz1200. If it was a fight for the number 2 seed between the Cardinals and the Cowboys what team would you bet? The spread is -3 for the Cowboys.

I would definately take the Cardinals in that game.  Yeah they laid an egg against Detroit that was a blip.  I can see the cards lighting up the cowboys.  Cowboys take a lot of all or nothing chances on d and kyler should load up on them.  That's how I see it but I also hate the cowgirls so I might be biased lol.

Giant fan here but if the cowboys don't end up with the top seed being able to ay the giants, eagles and wft twice a year they should be embarrassed.  That's an easy 6 wins right there.  Cowboys don't look dominant and if they play green Bay, rams, etc they are gonna have issues.  Gonna say it again.  Cowboys will have a great reg season record, maybe win during wild card week but then get beat up by a real team.  Same story every year for the girls

I'm pretty sure that I was telling you that the Cowboys were going to have a pretty decent year but they've been so inconsistent I'm with you, they don't have any legit chance this year to win a super bowl.  I also have to finally admit that Dak is the most overrated quarterback of all time.  He is so wildly inconsistent with his play it's not even funny.  He's amazing one game and below average the next and it seems never ending on that loop.

Bears Giants last game of the season I believe, what are we betting? lol.

Lol at this point with Jake fromm probably gonna be our qb, I will bet a 3 pack of shoelaces on the game even spread 😆

Skipped the Browns game as I really like the Chicago Bears to cover +7.5 @1.85 since the Vikings are in a tight spot and I still can't believe they're the ones who gave the Lions their first win. Hopefully, the trend on the road continues as they've been winning by a single possession and I think the Bears have a decent shot at winning as the Vikings are 2-5 on the road.

How about you guys do you have any insight or bets on this division matchup?

This is gonna be a tough fight for the Bears to pull this out.  Even though they are home they can't score.  And fields might be good someday but right now he needs a lot to go right for them to just stay competitive.  If he had Allen Robinson to throw too it would be better but he has Mooney and that's pretty much it.  Viks and tee up on them without fear of getting burned.  It's 10-0 now but this one might get ugly.

Another team that is also surprising me in the ranking is the Cavs, I would never have imagined that they could currently be in 3rd place in the ranking.

Many of us are in no doubt that we don't expect this Cavaliers team to be on the top of the standings in the Eastern Conference. They have no superstars in their roster and all our good role players. If they will keep up that kind of level of play, they will surely end on their current standings.

But I doubt them in the playoffs. Who knows though in the first place that we will see again an unusual team playing in the playoffs.

Actually the cavs would be super dangerous in the playoffs.  They are deep and can really score inside.  Their big men are excellent especially with the addition of evan mobley to the team.  They can score inside and out and defend the paint well.  Team needs to catch fire from the outside to beat up on this team.  I like their makeup and wouldn't be shocked if they go deep in the playoffs.

No.  Do you realize how many shib are in circulation.  If the price of shib got to $.10 each that would require money fiat money than is even in circulation in the entire world combined.  Before making these threads you should consider understanding the basic premise behind coin pricing and what makes up a coins market cap.

So I was minding my own business on reddit, when I stumbled on a thread posted by some guy about this -> Metaverse Cryptocurrency. I'm not so well-read about this topic so I wanted to ask around here as well.
I also read this Meta Quest 2 porn article and after some searching, I found out that the adult industry ALSO has Cryptocurrency.

Aside from laughing about it, I wonder how big is this going to get in the future? Apparently the VR porn industry is growing pretty fast. What do you guys know about this?

Metaverse crypto might be the next wave.  Not because it will last but because crypto goes in waves in their pump and dumps.  2017 was masternode coins, 2021 was meme coins next year might be metaverse coins.  Just know most aren't needed and just gimmicks but if you catch the right wave you could make some good dough on it.
