I don't think I've ever seen so many turn overs within the 5!
Added: Damn and another one right after I posted this!
Chargers deserve to lose it, forfeiting 6 (or was it 9?) points for no good reason in a game like this gotta be the stupidest thing I've seen this season, and I've watched a few Lions games.

That Donald Parham injury last night was just heartbreaking. I hope he's okay. In other news the Chiefs look to be back on track. Good win for them last night.

Breaking news that absolutely no one could have possibly seen coming: JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired head coach Urban Meyer, ending a tumultuous tenure with the franchise after only 13 games.
j/k, I'm shocked he lasted this long.

This is what happens when coaches follow sabermetrics without using their common sense, this was an important game so I get that the LAC coach wanted to be aggressive but I would have thought that after being stopped for the second time on 4th and goal they should have changed tactics. Also was that really part of the game plan? I mean, in one of the documentaries about the NE victory over Atlanta at the SB it was explained that Belichick most of the time only had two 4 & goal plays for most games but during that particular game they prepared an additional one, so am I supposed to believe the LAC had more plays on their game plan for this eventuality for a regular season game than Belichick at the SB? I do not buy it, they were just improvising at that point and it cost them the game.

This is what happens when coaches follow sabermetrics without using their common sense
If "go for it on every 4th" is what their analytics told them then it's seriously broken or they're using it wrong. This isn't a completely random chance of some probability (for the reasons you already mentioned; e.g. if they're running the same play) and even if it was, variance would be huge due to small sample size. Edit: it is going to be interesting if Goodell actually fulfills his promise of not moving games and force teams to forfeit the game if they cannot play due to covid issues.
Yeah, about that... https://apnews.com/article/coronavirus-pandemic-nfl-sports-health-philadelphia-eagles-4e19fc206bec28911c4d6bec2457992bThe NFL has moved three games because of COVID-19 outbreaks: Las Vegas at Cleveland from Saturday to Monday; and Seattle at the Los Angeles Rams and Washington at Philadelphia from Sunday to Tuesday.

I honestly don't mind teams that are aggressive on 4th downs near the goal line, especially if they have the personnel to go on 4th downs. Herbert can do things with his legs, Ekeler, even though being a bit banged up, and the other two RBs were getting almost everything they want against KC rush defense. Cook and Williams are endzone mismatches, and you also have Keenan Allen. I mean, you'd be doing your team a disservice if you weren't aggressive with the offensive weapons that you have. The Chargers are top 5 in the NFL in terms of 4th downs and conversions. I believe their conversion % at home (prior to the game with KC) was higher than 70%, which is quite good. The first 4th and short was the D.Parham play, which i thought was well-executed, he was wide open, he caught it, and if he hadn't hit his head on the way down, it would have been a touchdown...just an unfortunate outcome. The 4th and short at the end of the second quarter was a good call, would have made it a two-possession game, plus the Chargers had scored already 2 TDs in that quarter. The one play i didn't like was in the third quarter, at the KC 30, when they should have just kicked the field goal instead.....however, the Chargers have been going on 4th downs all season. Ironically or not, they won the first game with KC converting a 4th and 9 with less than a minute remaining in a tie game, though it was more about their kicker, iirc he was missing XPs left and right. I don't think the Chargers lost because of those missed points/scores on 4th downs.

I don't think the Chargers lost because of those missed points/scores on 4th downs. Honestly most teams are gonna go for it on 4th versus Chiefs. Their soft point is their defense. You aren't going to beat the Chiefs with fgs. Hanging up 7s vs 3s is the only way to beat them and their d gambles a lot where you can hit first downs fairly easy against them at times. I like the call, if I'm a head coach there I'd do the same. Now if you are playing Detroit, Houston, etc it's fg city all day knowing you can stop their o fairly easily.

How about them Lions... trying so hard to lose that first pick.
Ok, I will admit it was good to see 'zona crushed even though Conner's performance (or lack thereof) will probably lose me my match.

Lions really impressed with that extra effort today, if they did that all year they would have been contenders.

Maddogs went from not setting their lineup in one week, and almost not making the playoffs to...umm, 150 projected fantasy points against the 1st seed. The other match in the winner's bracket is a lot more competitive, hard to predict who is going to win, likely to go the full two-week distance. The consolation ladder games are not really interesting...since we didn't set on what the punishment for the last place will be.

@morvillz7z. Yes, the Maddogs did a 2021 Chiefs move hehehe.
In any case, on comebacks, the Patriots, the Chiefs and the Titans appear to be ending the regular season clinching their divisions. The Patriots with a rookie quarterback is the most impressive, I reckon.
There were also disappointments with the 49ers, the Bills and the Ravens. Justin Fields disappointing rookie, Josh Allen not MVP and also Lamar.

Looked horrible yesterday, will probably lose first playoff game. Also they probably never would have gotten their if Covid Cam didn't get himself booted. I'm still amazed the bigger morons in NC are paying Cam (4X what he was making when Pats booted him minimum) for his substandard performances. Especially when no-one else even wanted him. Lol

The Patriots did stink it up yesterday, but it wasn't the mistakes made by the rookie QB that surprised me. I expected the Pats defense to contain the Colts offense much better. Now I'm beating myself up for not starting the NO D/ST against the Bucs, lol.

@DireWolfM14. It appears that New Orleans Saints is trolling the Buccaneers hehehe. The Buccaneers would have clinched the division if they won this game correct?
In another game, the Rams should be very motivated for monday night football vs. the Seahawks. I am not certain why the spread is only -7. Injuries? Also, Seahawks have nothing to fight for the season.

If I'm not mistaken last time Bucs were shut out was in 2012 (also a December game against Saints), and last shutout for Brady was in 2006 (?).

My take away from that is that I should have known it was statistically unlikely for that to continue, and the streak(s) would end tonight. Thanks, I was just about to ease up on myself. Pretty strange weekend so far with Cards and the Bucs sucking lemons. Dallas is sitting as the number 2 seed at the moment... Could you imagine that? The NFC Least could take the top seed if the 'Girls keep winning and the Packers drop one.

Giant fan here but if the cowboys don't end up with the top seed being able to ay the giants, eagles and wft twice a year they should be embarrassed. That's an easy 6 wins right there. Cowboys don't look dominant and if they play green Bay, rams, etc they are gonna have issues. Gonna say it again. Cowboys will have a great reg season record, maybe win during wild card week but then get beat up by a real team. Same story every year for the girls

If Greenbay wins all remaining games and Tampa Bay wins their games on week 16-17 and the Cowpersons and the Cardinals win their games on week 16, then the game on week 17 with the Cowpersons and the Cardinals will decide who will be seed number 2 in NFC. Is this correct, accurate? @wheelz1200. If it was a fight for the number 2 seed between the Cardinals and the Cowboys what team would you bet? The spread is -3 for the Cowboys.
