I think one of my biggest questions regarding this race is: Was there a plan beforehand setup with Amy, Pete, and Biden regarding the nomination?

I may be too much of a cynic here, but I think that some of this may have been planned in advance. Pete knew that Bernie would be fighting hard for a win in the early states, as that's where you build the momentum. Pete pretty much uses ALL of his resources in the first two states, Iowa and New Hampshire. He had a great result, pretty much tying Bernie in both New Hampshire and in Iowa.Pete was essentially able to cancel out any momentum and news coverage that Bernie may have been able to count on.

Bernie did great in Nevada, yes, but this bought time for everyone else to build up resources in other states and to show the voters that Bernie wasn't going to be able to win the general. That was literally the only thing on the news for DAYS, WEEKS, ETC.

Now Biden will most likely be the nominee, am I too much of a cynic? Let me know.

I think they were always planning on endorsing whichever moderate Democrat lasted the longest.  I doubt they were planning all along for that candidate to be Biden.  In fact, I bet they considered it unlikely Biden would be that candidate after NH.

I also don't think Biden tanked Iowa, Nevada and NH intentionally.  He had significantly less money than Bernie, Pete and Bloomberg and a good performance in any of those three states would've been very beneficial financially.

You don't need a FOIA to get access to public records such as subpoenas. This is just an excuse to deflect from the fact that you can not, and will never be able to produce those subpoenas, because they never existed.

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Giuliani and Pompeo have both acknowledged receiving subpoenas. You're saying you know better than them and that they didn't. That makes you an idiot. Its not worth wasting my time with you any further.

I disagree with the premises of this argument. Isn't it possible that reporters, and/or many people, consider virtually any kind of document that demands or requests, from an official entity a "subpoena?" EG, they may have a broader definition of the word than you/Techshare/I have.

Exactly, and this was the whole game from the beginning. They issued carefully worded requests for information/testimony and simply CLAIMED they sent a subpoena, then told the media they actually did, and like the lapdogs they are they repeated it, and people like Nutilduuuuuh, TwittySeal, and Suchgoon sucked it down like the thirsty bias confirming TDS sufferers they are. Now that this is all over with, they can't produce any of the documents and are reduced to trying to distract with stories about "Mike Pompeo says" and FOIA requests rather than just admitting they are chumps that parrot whatever the idiot box tells them without ever checking for themselves.

Guiliani and Pompeo have both acknowledged receiving a subpoena.  It's not a matter of what 'reporters and/or other people consider'.  Just Pompeo and Rudy.

Pompeo letter to congress: "The department also acknowledges receipt of the subpoena"
Rudy tweet: "I have received a subpoena"
3403  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bernie Sanders is the Frontrunner for the Dems on: March 05, 2020, 04:50:43 AM
I like how things change so fast in the world of politics that I posted this and now it's not true, crazy what a week or so can do (crazy what Super Tuesday can do). Biden is now the frontrunner and has the momentum behind him, we'll see if he's able to use that momentum to continue to rack up wins in the delegate count.

This is a pretty wild prediction, but, I think this MAY be a wakeupcall to the Bernie Sanders voters that they're going to have to go out their and vote. This isn't a sure thing anymore. They have to make their coalition go out their and vote, and they have to fucking beg Warren to drop out. She's splitting the vote and truly killing Bernies chances of competing in the delegate #'s

The way things have been going I feel like the least likely scenario is Biden keeps his momentum and it's smooth sailing to the convention.

Not a great expert about US Politics.

What about a Biden- Major Pete (I cannot even type that name) ticket?
Does it makes sense?

My guess is no because Pete is a white male that probably has the least amount of supporters that would vote if he were on the ticket, but not other wise.  A non-white and/or female would probably turn out the most votes, so Kamala/Amy/Stacy Abrams are probably more likely.

Personally I'm hoping I'm wrong just so we can watch Pete debate Mike 'No Homo' Pence.

I was thinking also because it would provide Pete a sort of "internship" for the 2024 election, or the one where the Dems will actually have a chance of winning the White House.

I'm guessing Biden will give Pete whatever reasonable cabinet/ambassador spot he wants.

Could say the same about Bloomberg hurting Biden, as his voters second choice would've been Biden. Not like Bloomberg had a great performance, but it would've allowed Biden to further stretch his popular vote lead and his delegate count lead on Bernie.

You're absolutely right.  Bloomberg is forecast to walk away with ~100 delegates.  That could easily make a very big difference.
Also, Amy and Pete got a combined 200,000 votes in CA, I assume nearly all from early voters.

I see the situations I mentioned just before as being way beyond simple "trolling".....  This is just face value harassment.

Oh...this is Bitcointalk feedback wars.  Harassment is the name of the game.

OgNasty and Vod have been going at it for years.
OgN successfully got Vod pissed enough while he was drinking to post his address (which isn't exactly all that secret).
Vod removed it and admitted he shouldn't have done that, and I'm sure he regretted it as soon as he sobered up and realized he just gave his feedback war enemies the "Vod will doxx anyone for any reason card.." - and he kind of deserves it for making that mistake.

Bringing that law into the battle was pretty laughable though.  I'm surprised you jumped behind it so quickly.  Are you a sea lion?

I haven't taken any bonuses or used any freeplays in 10 months.

FJ posted this:

Yet, the practice is abusive, and the Player somehow managed to be in the rules. But if the play with casino gets out of hands, the casino reserves the right to restrict some aspects of the game with the Player. To be perfectly clear here: Adding option is a willing offer from casino to players, keeping the game going, like a cashback or other promotion. Every casino ever receives the right to restrict players' gaming practice, if the playing pattern seems to be abusive to its promotions. Hereby, here is an example of betslip PatDugan used to win some big bucks, the + sign indicates, that game was added in the bet slip using the promotion.

Can you explain whats up with those bets?  I have no idea how their bonuses work or anything.

Does a bet require manual approval, and then they just let you add whatever you want as a parlay or something, including promotional funds?
3408  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Outbreak on: March 04, 2020, 11:10:39 AM
the shenyang example clearly shows lots of greys and only a couple greens
which i said and then you rebuttaled to weirdly agree is lots of random planes and only a couple of departures
but make it sound like there wasn't. (strange)
The planes have to wait in line to take off, so you'd only see a few at a time.  Go look at a couple different cities.  Then compare to Wuhan:  https://flightaware.com/live/airport/ZHHH

then you said wuhan had no departures. but then showed a list of departures and arrivals and there being some 15-30minute intervals..
thats exactly what i said there were arrivals and departures still happening with 15-30minute intervals
Look more closely:

The flights that are scheduled are not happening because the airport is closed.

There are 3 or 4 flights a day using the Wuhan Airport.
The Chinese Post, and evacuations for people that live in other countries if their government sends a plane.

twitchy:
just checking the first couple lines of your 'source'... reuters. cnn.. hmm seems more like western media to me
anyway
time of posting i checked again the tracking sites

oh look i see planes
oh look i see departure listings
oh look i see no cancelations

as for comparing it to another city view. the funny thing that you done though was reveal the green planes which were the only planes related to that area.
the other planes were just random planes
in my town we dont have airports for 50 miles. yet i look into the sky and see jetstreams and planes regular.. same goes for your comparative image of shenyang

but yea goodluck saying that no planes are leaving wuhan just because wiki via cnn told you

I did not filter or change anything.

The green planes are departures, blue is arrivals, the grey planes just happened to be flying past.  There are no arrivals or departures so they are all grey.

see for yourself
https://flightaware.com/live/airport/ZHHH

The flight tracking sites are listing the normal schedules, but there are only 2-3 flights a day landing or taking off.  One of them is China Postal, not sure what the other 2 are but they sure aren't commercial air lines.

Here's a flight that shows 'arrived' on the site you used.  But it didn't.

Why are you doing this?

3410  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Outbreak on: March 04, 2020, 09:52:51 AM
Do you have a source for this?

any way. ofcourse you can have personal contacts in china. you can also visit it.. or
there are many sources
flight tracker websites
live webcams

by the way. check the dates of chinas new year festival..
...
cant believe you tried to quite wiki as source.
whats next.. will you think CSW is satoshi if wiki tells you so??

Here are the sources used for that article.  There are 81 of them.  That's the cool thing about wikipedia, everything has to have a reference, that's what all those little numbers are at the end of sentences, or else it gets removed:

FYI:  there are laws you may not even know of.  Example: even if you aren't in California; it is illegal to record a private conversation without both parties consent if one of those persons is in California....   most Californians don't even know this.

It's also illegal in California to eat a frog that died in a frog jumping contest.

Next weeks cover for The New Yorker:

I have to admit though, the White House has gotten much better the past few days since Trump stopped doing them.  The Pence press conferences consist mostly of him letting the experts respond to questions (and he doesn't contradict them).  I think they realized that Trump spiked the football too early and continually double downing on lies would only make things much worse bc this thing isn't going away for a while.

I'm not sure if they can enforce a subpoena for someone from another country.  Did a little research and can't find anything definitive, but there are a couple cases about subpoenaing a US citizen living in another country - that's ok, but the language makes me think that you have to be a US citizen to be obligated to comply with a Subpoena from the US government.

I guess it's really just semantics though, it's pretty clear the guy would be more than willing to show up.  He's already done a bunch of interviews and is friends with Rudy.

Found some random stuff out about him -

  • Worked at Ukrainian Embassy and Prosecutors office.
  • He's been accused of taking bribes (he denies it)
  • Drank a lot at work
  • He claims he was forced out of the job for supporting Trump, they say it was because he 'blacked out' and hit 4 cars.
  • He set up a consultancy firm with the guy who is well-known for failed attempt at getting Trump Tower Moscow done, and another guy who has been charged with Treason for meeting with Trump officials to push them to give Crimea to Russia.

What, he likes Trump? And Fox News?

Why, that obviously immediately discredits him.

Smiley

The republicans attacked pretty much every federal employee that testified during impeachment hearings accusing them of being never trumpers/democrats, and the only real reason was the things they said made Trump look bad.  Can you imagine the outrage if they had made the same types of tweets this guy did except pro-Obama?

The guy really does look like he just got picked out of Trump rally lol

And how do you explain the quarantined towns and cities in China and now Italy.

wuhan(china) was not in lockdown

western media thought that because shops were shut and stuff it was a quarantine. but it was the standard january new year festival.

shops opening the same day as the end of the festival was not just a coincidence. it was not about corona. it was just the festival end
airplanes still departed from wuhans airport every 15-30minutes

the only people at risk of severe pneumonia/death were the elderly and those with already weakened immune systems
china responded quickly. they created a couple hospitals specifically for those with the flu to keep them separate from normal patients in normal hospitals that had weakened immune systems

wuhan itself has a total population of 11m
yet world wide not even 100k people have it.

put it this way if everyone in the world that has had corona was told to go to wuhan to truly quarantine it.
the stats would be
1% of wuhan total population got the flu and of that 4% of those affected die
in short 0.04% death rate
(numbers are lower because there is no marshal law quarantine)

again if your under 50yo your chances of infected is 0.2% and if over 80yo 14%

what you will find is that certain area's of wuhan like normal hospitals and retirement villages have special protocols. to take extra care. but to try imagining the situation in china as a city wide marshal law lockdown is a big exaggeration

yep. even the public service buses are still running.
yep cargo ships still running
yep cars still using the road
yep people still walking around
yep the bridges still letting people to cross
yep airports still departing

Do you have a source for this?

Seems like there was a lock down. (still is a lock down actually)

Quote
At 2am on 23 January 2020, authorities issued a notice informing residents of Wuhan that from 10am, all public transport, including buses, railways, flights, and ferry services would be suspended. The Wuhan Airport, the Wuhan railway station, and the Wuhan metro were all closed. The residents of Wuhan were also not allowed to leave the city without permission from the authorities.

Looks like Warren staying in cost Bernie MA and MN.  Biden didn't even campaign in either state and it looks like he's going to win both by 5+%

Warren definitely stifled Sanders in MA; most of the delegates still need to vote in MN.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/democratic_delegate_count.html

Much like Bloomberg, I think after today she'll definitely have "no path forward."

Not that it matters, but watch what is going to happen in Hawaii on April 4th: the people will overwhelmingly vote for Sanders and the delegates will overwhelmingly vote for Biden. Happened last time around except switch Biden with Clinton. Bunch of bullshit.

After the California delegates roll in, I definitely expect to see Sanders come much closer to Biden, if not overtake him.

I bet Tulsi wins Hawaii (yeah, she's still running)

Everyone called Minnesota over an hour ago. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/03/03/us/elections/results-minnesota-president-democrat-primary-election.html

Biden is still live in TX:

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that Bidens chances at winning the nomination just shot up.

Na, probably just a coincidence.

Senate Republicans plan first subpoena in Burisma, Biden probe

"If approved, Johnson’s move would mark the first subpoena Senate Republicans have issued in their probe into Biden and Burisma."
"Telizhenko is a 29-year-old Ukrainian national who has fueled the widely debunked theory embraced by Trump that Ukraine assisted former secretary of state Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election with help from the Democratic National Committee."

Of course, remember its not actually a subpoena until we can see a copy of the actual subpoena. Until then, its just a baseless witch hunt.

The guy they're subpoenaing is a Ukrainian national/Trump super fan.

Pretty sure that's a subpoena that can not be enforced, and he'd be happy to come in with a simple phone call.
Check out this guys twitter feed: https://twitter.com/AndriyUkraineTe
For a foerign National he sure seems to love Fox News/Oann and literally every single word Trump sayas.

It is almost certain that Sanders will win a plurality of delegates

Nowhere near certain.  The last 4 days have been devastating for Bernie.

Pete announced he's joining Amy on stage to endorse Joe tonight.
That is one model and I wouldn’t trust the daily movements on these models, and the political landscape is so different than in the past, so I would consider these models to be unreliable in general (they are based on historical data).

We will have a much clearer picture by Wednesday morning. I would predict that Bernie gets between 40-45% of the delegates awarded tomorrow (including those that Warren wins) and Biden/Bloomberg splitting the remainder roughly evenly either directly or via endorsements. If Sanders gets over 50% of the delegates tomorrow, it will pretty much be over unless either Biden or Bloomberg immediately drops out.

Looking at the polling for ST states, I would not put Sanders getting >50% out of the question.
Would be kind of silly not to use historical data no?
Check out their process: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-fivethirtyeight-2020-primary-model-works/ You might be surprised.

You can also see how their past models have performed.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/checking-our-work/presidential-primaries/
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/checking-our-work/presidential-elections/

They are giving Bernie a 16% chance and Biden 14% to win a majority at this point.
