3421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SAVE CRYPTO FROM PEOPLE LIKE ELON MUSK on: May 24, 2021, 06:59:42 AM
...
Crypto absolutely needs to ditch the celebration of pathetic vampires like McAfee if it wants the world to believe it is the future of finance, and not simply ancient swindling techniques that have been digitally repackaged for a new generation of suckers.
That bold part is pretty much every altcoin by definition.

Only Bitcoin wasn't created to line the pockets of it's creators.

I would pose that perhaps Namecoin and Litecoin also share this distinction; they are pretty benevolent. As is (was) Dogecoin, which Jackson Palmer stated was meant to be a joke, or a "piss take" in his words.

But otherwise I tend to agree with you.
3422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Bitcointalk Urban Achievers Merit Scholarship Program on: May 24, 2021, 12:32:57 AM

Thanks for your application but unfortunately you do not qualify for the Merit Achievers scholarship.

At least you tried...

Guess everyone else is too... whatever they are... to attempt to earn some merits. I guess the task I gave was exhaustingly difficult or something.

Taking new applications.
3423  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM! KOMMUNISTAS $KOM -Fake team and plagiarism of white paper. on: May 23, 2021, 04:50:44 AM
Good catch. I haven't seen anyone attempt to do this in a while, make use of the AI generated faces. You do have to know a bit about what to look for in order to spot that one, but there are a few dangly hairs that are blurry for no reason and the off-color splotches are malformed jewelry. Pretty lame but definitely the sign of a scam.
3424  Economy / Reputation / Re: Nutildah's bounty cheaters & ban evaders thread on: May 22, 2021, 02:25:44 AM

OK I looked at it again and it would appear jobair4 just copied your details, so I removed my neutral rating.

3425  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 21, 2021, 08:05:01 PM
Whoa, its the Chart Buddy.

So what's the consensus here, lower or higher low?
3426  Other / Meta / Re: Merits = Likes, the new standard? on: May 19, 2021, 10:52:51 PM
I have no problems with nutildah and neither he would have any problems with me but I am just trying to understand his way of giving merits and how others give merits.

Okay, well I just explained to you exactly what my thought process was when awarding merits and you completely ignored that in order to post this.

You also ignored my question of what your criticism entailed exactly. The problem is I only give merits to my friends? Well, that must mean I have 1,074 friends because that's how many different accounts I've given merits to. Its the 15th biggest "merit circle" on the forum... and we have 97 merit sources. What more do you want from me?
3427  Other / Meta / Re: Merits = Likes, the new standard? on: May 19, 2021, 09:53:44 PM
I was under the impression that merit is meant to reward good content to make sure there are better posters and lesser spammers eventually on the forum.

So your gripe is that scam accusations aren't merit-worthy, or what are you saying exactly? How does what I said have anything to do with what you're talking about?

If Nutildah is looking up at the username and their history with the user, then I am sure a lot of other users must be following the same path.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

If that's the case, why shouldn't we call it as like instead of merit because like can be subjective and everyone may have their own likes but merit is a very specific word and reflects good work.

I give merits to posts I find to be valuable in at least some form. That does not mean that just because you feel you made a good post, I have to merit it.

Actually "like" is not subjective; giving something a Like objectively demonstrates that you like that thing.

The concept of "merit" on the other hand is much more subjective... When you leave a merit you're saying something beyond just liking it -- we have to go into the details as to why something is or is not meritorious.
3428  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LiveCoin.net >Buy/Sell/Exchange>New pairs:BVK/BTC,APOD/BTC,KTETH/BTC on: May 19, 2021, 09:40:47 PM
I will be impressed when there's a single account with a single merit that reports having received their funds. I mean, it will still be bullshit of course, but I would admittedly find it an impressive feat.

I'm pretty sure they're almost broke and just swishing tether around in their own wallets.

A lot of these "refundees" haven't even touched their coins. They're just sitting there, waiting for attention to be focused away from them. LOL.

Some have sent to Poloniex, that's about it.
3429  Other / Beginners & Help / The Bitcointalk Urban Achievers Merit Scholarship Program on: May 19, 2021, 08:37:00 PM
It occurred to me there should be a merit "scholarship program" for accounts lower than Hero who deserve to rank up.

The forum has been losing a bit of steam over the years and this type of a program serves as an attempt to retain some of our best talent, most creative or knowledgeable members and such. These types of members should be rewarded for their contribution and incentivized to stick around.

It is not meant for those looking to farm accounts or who are here solely to shitpost for cash, or less than cash.

For those who submit a competitive application which demonstrates they are capable of contributing to the Bitcointalk community for its betterment in any capacity, they will be awarded enough merits to rank up to the next rank (all the way to Hero Member; limited to one award per member).

However, award distribution is also based on consideration of the program's merit supply. For example, if you are a Senior Member with 490 merits, you are much more likely to get the award than a Senior Member with 250 merits; everything else being equal.

If I don't get around to you, please don't take it personally; I don't have infinity merits and will wait for a day or two before considering anything, anyway.

Incorrectly filled applications will be rejected.

How to Apply for the Bitcointalk Urban Achievers Award:

I. Without going into too much detail, tell me the story of your first experience with cryptocurrency. It can be about a purchase, payment, other transaction, or just some anecdote about Bitcoin (200 words or less).

II. Provide links for what you consider to be your three best posts. They don't necessarily have to be your most merited posts, but posts where you strongly believe you provided something of value to the community.

III. That's it! Just post your answers to these two questions below and your application will be officially filed.
3430  Economy / Reputation / Re: how has TronBuilding avoided negative trust? (PONZI) on: May 19, 2021, 07:35:26 PM
Instead of using your alt account to open a thread in Reputation with a somewhat accusatory tone, you should have just posted a Scam Accusation from your main account. You might have even earned a merit or two.

The account you want tagged hasn't even posted in the thread since June 2020, and the scam was up by January 2021. Regardless, I see its been taken care of.
3431  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarized are not Allowed. on: May 19, 2021, 03:05:02 AM
Plagiarized are not allowed , if there is no athourity to the owner who made the idea. Copyright, copying all the statement are plagiarize also ,stilling and selling without permission are also known plagiarized. Doing plagiarize will encounter a serious action due that they disobeyed the. Some consequences there reputation will destroy and inadequate. So what's the reason for doing this illegal copyright and stilling the other idea,  if that we can make our own idea and it is really overwhelmed when we the one who made our own without stilling idea and excert some efforts.

This is incredibly thought provocative and equally as poetic. It could probably be a song.

I didn't think it was possible to end sentences with the word "the", but I was wrong!

It's like... this is what this forum has come to in a nutshell, lol. Just like the saddest attempts to churn out content for the sake of potentially raking in, what, a nickel per post max? Does anyone see a higher caliber potential for earnings here? I'm just amused.
3432  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: May 18, 2021, 09:09:47 AM
Addresses / transactions in the Cryptsy blog at the time of the hack can be seen here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160325013714/http://blog.cryptsy.com/

These two addresses had 100BTC incoming transactions in 2014, and weren't spent until 2020:
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/15yRZyEyzwyNhCFBfqWBJDXsuJn9WJVhnJ
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/17QwFUD9awdi4JcncVrkxfDDBvEos8HU8H

These two addresses had 100BTC incoming transactions in 2014, and weren't spent until 2021:
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/12KBnNKkEdjcojNZ7ceBhDBJWhMZbtttgr
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/159m8sYcDJwPfJaVpLeKJitkQTiPKevnY4

The last address to have 100BTC sent to it remains unspent here:
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1AA8YJ2DeYr99BS1PrsFKWC1p9hXT28dup

The reward/bounty address that Paul Vernon set up had small amounts sent to it in 2016. It was spent in February this year suggesting that even if Paul Vernon wasn't in control of the above, he is certainly in contol of the below and thus, must be alive.
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1KNi4E4MTsF7gfuPKPNAbrZWQvtdQBTAAa

If you follow the trail, it always ends up at an exchange. For example, if you follow the https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/159m8sYcDJwPfJaVpLeKJitkQTiPKevnY4, you'll see that it follows a trail to Binance's hot wallet here: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1NDyJtNTjmwk5xPNhjgAMu4HDHigtobu1s

This BTC is long laundered through Binance and HitBTC. As the Class Action is now over, I'm assuming it's done and dusted as far as the lawyers on the case are concerned; they certainly haven't responded to my comms.

This is some good forensics and it took me down a rabbit hole, revisiting the feud between BitJohn and Gleb for the last hour. I wonder if CZ would care about this sort of thing. Binance has taken actions to stop flows of coins from hacked/scam exchanges. HitBTC... wouldn't count on it.

BitcoinXpress once said that Big Vern started a new exchange in China... guess business from that dried up at some point?
3433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: May 18, 2021, 07:31:34 AM
Why can't Counterparty evolve to use lightning channels somehow?  then there would no issue with fees, actions on DEX would be instant and there would be less unnecessary bloat and increased privacy with the DEX actions not being written into the blockchain.

I thought about this and it kind of removes the significance of something being recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain if its only actually recorded on LN. I think Blockstream Liquid allows for token creation, but again, its not really the same thing because there are no records of the transactions on the bitcoin blockchain, which is what makes it special in the first place.
3434  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 18, 2021, 04:36:17 AM

My proctologist told me the same thing.
3435  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why all these fake conversations? on: May 18, 2021, 03:14:32 AM
It is a bit annoying to wade through metric tonnes of raw sewage in order to find the occasional thought-provoking post. There's a few sections where the mods/community simply don't tolerate it, and they are arguably the more important sections of the forum.

The best solution is to create an ignore list so big that you can't access it from your profile.
3436  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LiveCoin.net >Buy/Sell/Exchange>New pairs:BVK/BTC,APOD/BTC,KTETH/BTC on: May 18, 2021, 01:56:45 AM
Hi

I'm KROU Ndin Thierry (Thierrysb on livecoin). I have received my 50 percent of the payment from Livecoin in my USDT account today. I'm Waiting on the rest.

No you're not.

Your name is Thierry St. Blanc. Look at your first post you dumb dipshit.

What do you think the "SB" portion of your username stands for?  Cheesy

Where does Livecoin find these retards?
3437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: May 17, 2021, 08:27:01 PM
Quite a nice jump today, am a bit sad my orders for XCP on the DEX never went through. I'm still rooting for XCP on the sidelines though.

Here is the article, hope you enjoy the read, reading the other guides at the top will make the rest easier to understand.

https://desktopcommando.medium.com/trading-xcp-nfts-on-ethereum-matic-networks-87a89101fd58

This is great. Does anyone have success converting their SOG cards to the ETH NFT marketplace and actually selling them there?Huh I have a super rare full Satoshi Card and I am wondering if the market for such a card can be revived???

What is a SOG card?

There is definitely still room for XCP to grow to provide the "gold standard" for Bitcoin-backed NFTs.

anyone know what kind of news coming and push the price up now ?

Bro are you kidding? All you have to do is look at the posts on this page above yours.
3438  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LiveCoin.net >Buy/Sell/Exchange>New pairs:BVK/BTC,APOD/BTC,KTETH/BTC on: May 17, 2021, 07:55:09 PM
I'm not a boot actually. Posting here is a part of deal and payment programme  Smiley

Right, you're not a "boot", you're a human doing the work of a bot. And nobody believes anything you have to say. Whoever hired you is wasting their money.
3439  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LiveCoin.net >Buy/Sell/Exchange>New pairs:BVK/BTC,APOD/BTC,KTETH/BTC on: May 16, 2021, 09:11:40 PM
The last bots that unsubscribed there at the end of April were so lazy that they simply copied the report from each other, word for word. Of course, no one believed in this theatrical performance of compensation for victims and laudatory reviews.

Good.

I can't believe they think people are stupid enough to fall for this nonsense.

@Ratimov Do you tend you think it was an inside job that took the exchange down? That's what it looks like to me. I'm just trying to imagine why they would bother even pretending to do a distribution... So people will stop asking for their money I guess.

Well, they'll never stop asking.

3440  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is President of the United States of America on: May 16, 2021, 02:40:28 AM
He's pretending to be Biden while also joking about it... who would do such a weird thing.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8921677/Meet-75-year-old-Joe-Biden-impersonator-Kevin-Dalton.html

If you get paid enough, you might surprise yourself about how far you would go.

Cool

How much is enough to post thousands of links to fake news/conspiracy/pseudo science sites on the internet?

Clearly we failed to consider that Kevin Dalton is both Biden and a Biden Impersonator contemporaneously. Just because he got hired to be fake Biden, it doesn't mean he has to quit his other job as fake Biden.

I heard he got a third job recently: playing the role of the guy who is supposedly fake Biden.
