3442  Other / Beginners & Help / The relationship between educational qualification and quality of post. on: January 24, 2022, 12:08:57 PM
Do you think the level of academic qualifications and life experience that a member of forum has, has a direct influence on the quality of post that  he/she makes here on this forum?
Do you feel users who are known to be quality posters in various boards are individuals with high educational qualifications and vast experience.
3443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON Round of 16. on: January 24, 2022, 11:38:31 AM
I think Nigeria lacked a bit of motivation after their perfect first round with 3 victories. They didn't take it serious enough and weren't hungry enough for the win and then at some point they were unlucky twice (Tunisia's goal and the red card).

That's why such tournaments are mostly won by the teams that are not only good, but also very motivated.

Yes being good is not just enough, getting motivated and staying motivated is also very important. Some players really like the Nigerian goalie Maduka, came under backlash for being distracted and not giving their very best in the game.

Plus read this from a WhatsApp contact

Do you agree with this opinion?
3444  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "37 Seconds" - Legalize Marijuana | Gary Chambers on: January 24, 2022, 11:29:21 AM
First off, a senate candidate smoking weed to destigmatize the drug for legalization, does that not mean he has already done something illegal? showing to the public that he indulges in an illegal activity, something yet to made legal???

Secondly I'd say he is just showing to you that even many more than the musicians and the artist you know are consumers of marijuana. Some top politicians, Professors, Military generals, Scientists and even doctors and others occasionally use marijuana in the secret.
3445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON Round of 16. on: January 24, 2022, 08:50:11 AM
the problem of Nigeria team is that they feel so relaxed ....

I don't think they were too relaxed, they didn't take advantage of their chances yes, but not that they were too relaxed. This is just football, and even the strongest of teams loose games still. IMO, the Super played the best they could even with the red card in the second half, they were just the unlucky side of the game. Tunisia on the other hand were able to keep their cool throughout the game, and that's good too... but other than that, i am not convinced that they can win this AFCON.
3446  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are humans the superior forever? on: January 24, 2022, 04:46:27 AM
If evolution is true, is it possible that after humans have been created now, there will be another creature superior to him humans, the evolution of another being.
If evolution were to be true, i believe Humans are the final level of evolution in terms of creatures, but in terms of physical features and mental ability, i believe evolution still continues. In a long run, if evolution is to be measured or calculated correctly, there is a possibility i believe that some new characteristics, features/modifications will be discovered of humans that presently are not visible but has been developed as a result of time and environmental adaptation.
3447  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens to your network if bitcointalk go offline on: January 23, 2022, 10:16:52 PM
the thing is what will happen to members network of friends on the forum who may not border in sharing personal contacts e.g email if one day the forum suddenly goes offline how do we link up with each other and keep the discussion going.
Just a newbie curiosity question
Is the forum really a place to make friends or a place to learn and see perspectives of random person's that you have no social or casual relationship with? I think if the forum was created in the model of social media where the purpose is for people to meet and maybe become friends, There would have been a section in our profile that allows us to upload personal pictures. so IMO, i think for making friends is not the primary purpose behind this forum, it can happen, but not the sole purpose of the forum, so do not bother much about what happens if the forum somehow goes offline.
3448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON Round of 16. on: January 23, 2022, 09:11:14 PM
Final result:

Nigeria 0 - 1 Tunisia
When you a team expected to win do not score in the first 45 mins, it becomes a real challenge when the underdog get a goal before you do, and that is exactly what happened to the super eagles. Everyone expected them to win judging from their brilliant performance since the start, i'm certain even the players expected to win and didn't quite take full advantage of the chances they had before Tunisia got a goal. I really wonder it that Red card for Iwobi was called for, he was clearly with the ball, and in trying to retain it, stepped on the other player, a yellow would have been okay rather than ruining the game.
3449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON Round of 16. on: January 23, 2022, 07:55:15 PM

I am more concern with Nigeria vs Tonisia tonight which is going to be a tough one for both team, but considering Tunisia last performance their position and level of moral I know Nigeria team is on a better chance of winning tonight match, and my prediction will be 4:2.
Not looking like you prediction will cone through, it's been a tough 45 mins for both teams. The Tunisian defence is double marking Simon Moses tonight, and looking like they are lurking to make a counter attack.  Any team can win at the moment, even one goal may be all they need...will be great to see what changes the super eagles coach will make in the second half.
3450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 23, 2022, 06:10:04 PM
The score 2:0 is now led by Chelsea and they proved that the catch from Liverpool is quite thin. I quite applaud the 2 goals that were created in less than 10 minutes. The second-half match is still long enough that about 1 more goal can be expected for Chelsea so that their position with Liverpool is balanced. Tottenham is having a hard time catching up, they can probably score just 1 point in this game, and still Chelsea are the winners.
I think Tottenham can as well forget this game, Chelsea is for sure winning this one. Great goals from Ziyech which will definitely be one of the seasons finest and Dani Alves doubling the lead for the team. Conte started this game with six defenders for Tottenham but Chelsea is still winning, Chelsea always seems to win Tottenham.

Two matches of the 1/8 finals today:

Burkina Faso - Gabon
2.34 - 2.85 - 3.55

Halftime score and Burkina Faso is leading by a goal regardless of the first half being dominated by Gabon who have had more attempts on goal to score. I am wondering if Burkina Faso will try to score another goal or defend this lucky one they have had. Should be a tough second 45, it's a delicate stage of the competition, Gabon cannot afford to just let go.

3452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 23, 2022, 03:22:31 PM
So far Arsenal has played good game both attacking and defensive wise. Lot of close chances from Gunners, hopefully they will score some goals in second half.

Arsenal is putting up a terrible display so far in this second half, Lacazatte is playing terribly up front and if we are to get a goal, i am not sure it will come from him, he needs to be subbed off, but who will replace him?? we have no options on the bench. Saka is a really good player, but this arsenal team is making him look like he is not doing enough. I hope Burnley don't score first, because if they do, i think we can kiss that three points goodbye.
3453  Economy / Economics / Re: How To Profit From MASSIVE Inflation on: January 23, 2022, 03:03:11 PM

Recommendations on real estate and commodities as good business models to pursue in eras of high inflation.

He contends real estate will appreciate in value at a pace rivaling inflation, allowing for profits over both short and long term.

Commodities is his other recommendation.

Real Estate is one asset that is a sure insulation against inflation. It's supply is dwindling and it's value increasing by the day. Because it will always be in demand, and the supply will never be able to equal its demand, hence realtors will always be in profit regardless of inflation.
As for commodities, they will forever be in demand like real estate, and to save yourself from inflation, it is better to be a supplier where you can still make changes to your price maintaining profit than just a consumer with no choice.

A new rank adds more responsibility to the user and when you are given that responsibility. Do good with it.
Certainly some wise words, for every member of this forum that hopes and desires to achieve a new rank, be it from a newbie to member, or a member to full member, or a full member to senior member and so on, you have to realise that the higher you go, the better your contributions to the forum are expected to get, so you must improve and expand your knowledge and not just be satisfied that since you have achieved a new rank, it is now some time to rest.

News reaching me is that Ghana has sacked their Coach.
how true can this be, they did performed poorly for me he deserves to be sacked.
It is normal for any coach who didn't meet a target set for him to be sacked. The Black stars were not one of the teams that i would have initially thought will not advance to the knockout stages of the competition. Perhaps it is more painful now for them seeing that their close comparison Nigeria is doing well and have advanced to the next stage. Hopefully with a new coach, we will see a better Ghanian side in the next competition.
3456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 22, 2022, 05:21:41 PM
Rashford closing score was so shocking. That was quite good ...
Throughout the game MUFC had more attempts on goal than West ham, Not the kind of result i expected, i expected more number of goals in this game, but happy still that Rashford could get that last minute winner and save my betting slip.

The substitutes for MUFC made the difference, because left to the starting eleven, the game would have ended in a draw.

Also with the introduction of VAR, alot of football decisions have come under question, how could Cavani not be offside?

3457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How bitcoin has employed more African youths. on: January 22, 2022, 01:54:09 PM
I just think, young people in Africa are very serious about learning bitcoin,
Africa is just plagued by bad and corrupt leaders but overly blessed with a lot of young talents with great minds, who amidst the economic hardship are trying to make something for themselves. Unfortunately the government of some African countries are retarding the growth of such youths through some unfavorable policies, unequal opportunities, and bad governance. Bitcoin is one of those things identified by the youths with a potential to better their lives that the government has no control over, hence the bulk influx of African youths to cryptocurrency. Even now when the government of some African countries having recognised the potential bitcoin has to eradicate poverty and have made policies to discourage its use, more Africans are non challant towards it. So yes, youths in Africa are serious about learning about bitcoins and crypto in general is because of the potential it has to better their lives.
3458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT a replacement to the Stock Market/ traditional investments on: January 22, 2022, 11:45:56 AM
When we talk about the traditional investments we have to consider the fact that the investors does need a huge sum of money to start in that direction.
We all know that the original intention behind the creation of bitcoins is not to serve as a means to invest one's money, but necessity has made it so. Bitcoin and crypto at the moment has created an opportunity and an option for the purpose of investment, it is not a replacement to the traditional stock market and the likes, but another option for investment. If viewed as a replacement to traditional investment, it is a misconception that needs correcting.
3459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will central bank digital currency (CBDC) make bitcoin worthless? on: January 21, 2022, 06:47:51 PM
In fact, I believe that CBDC may even make bitcoin more valuable. Why?
Another reason is that the introduction of CBDC will also promote comparison between them and bitcoins (crypto in general). This comparison will directly influence the popularity of bitcoins positively as many will soon come to see that the framework of CBDC's is tailored after that of cryptocurrency with just some few modifications to suit the government. Crypto to many will still be the better choice to many.
3460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup of Nation Discussion Thread || Current discussion: Round of 16. on: January 21, 2022, 04:03:26 PM
This year AFCON is the best to me compare to the previous ones  we use to have.
So far in this competition, the Cameroonian team has scored more goals than any other team in the tournament with Vincent Aboubakar of Cameroon being the top scorer with four goals so far, the super eagles were the only side to get full points (9) from the group stages, and the Senegalese side is the only team yet to concede a goal.

Who will make it to the Quarter finals?

To the left, I predict - Guinea, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, and Morocco.
to the right,  I predict - Gabon, Nigeria, Senegal and Mali.
