I couldn't find shill on the list. People are constantly accusing others of being shills here, especially in the alt section. The term could confuse newbies so it might be worth adding to the list.

My reading still is that SecondMarket and other "Authorized Participants" have to buy bitcoins themselves in order to get shares from Greyscale. Isn t that so?
Only BIT buys and sells bitcoin. GBTC can only create shares when owners of BIT redeem their shares of BIT. You can't deposit bitcoin with GBTC. Is it true the first shareholders cannot sell their shares for twelve months and after that the shares can be freely traded? What percentage of shares (representing bitcoins) can be sold now? As I understand it, only shares of BIT that have been owned for 12 months can be transferred/deposited/redeemed/converted to shares of GBTC. Once they are GBTC, they can be freely traded on the open market without restriction. Is there any estimate of how many that can be freely traded on the open market without restriction today? It's going to be a damp squib if hardly any can be traded until another year elapses. BIT had 70,000 bitcoin at the end of 2013 so at least 700,000 shares could be put on the market right now but it seems unlikely that everyone would want to sell unless there is a hefty premium. Also, more will mature each month and by Dec 2015, 1,380,000 shares will eligible to be sold. I found this post in the secondmarket thread that says they had to stop the redemption process because of a SEC rule. They should have had legal experts scrutinizing the rule book for months before to stop this happening. ...
AIUI no one can redeem shares atm. They had to suspend redemption because of a technicality in the SEC rules - I think it's because you're not allowed to be simultaneously offering new shares and at the same time offering to redeem old shares.

Would be interesting to send an e-mail to the real Jorge Stolfi and ask if this is his account. Most of "his" posts are designed to confuse. Rather than inform, which I thought was his aim.
It is a sad state of affairs, but I believe it is the real Jorge Stolfi. I can only imagine what his students think of him spending so many hours on these forums. Jeebus Creebus, One thing is the hours. But the content? I don't mind people being critical of BTC, but he has nothing that sticks. He just drones away on lies and stupidity which has been rebuffed countless times. He should get a hobby. Join a marching band or something. His Wikipedia page says he's anti-bitcoin. In late 2013 Jorge took an active interest in the economics of cryptocurrencies. He became extremely skeptical about its underlying soundness and chances of success, and has been advising the Brazilian public against investment in bitcoin. |

There was no break-in to the system
There was no leak of data
Wallet private keys are safe and not compromised
The attacker was not able to execute any external code
The bug has been located and fixed. However, the losses are irreversible. We plan to complete the activity of exchange.

Really impressive. That speed is insane. 5800 TPS? DigiByte block size will increase from 1 MB to 10 MB initially, with built in future increases. I just never have understood this part. What's the point of 10 MB blocks? You can store more data in it, but what kind of data would one store in a block? Or is this just about transaction-data? Like, with current blocksize you would have a problem if you have 87000 transactions in one block? (5800*15 sec block). There is an argument that bitcoin needs 10 MB blocks to scale up to more transactions. Big blocks can also be used for storage. |

Absolutely NEM is one of the big projects launching this year. I think the developers and the community are really behind it. Certainly not a pump and dump. Though it may get pumped and dumped once or twice.

You can test on this actual forum of a real response to your site. If you noticed, the bar that shows where "primedice" slot is, thats where the advertising placement would be and to do this, you`ll have to go the auction thread. I think naming your baby after a sub-unit of Bitcoin is inappropriate. I don`t know how people in here just think about that??!! What people wouldn`t do for money(bitcoins) in these days?  We must put more value on more important things in life,NOT MONEY. I don`t say that money is not good if you earn it correctly and not by selling your integrity OR your kid`s name..but our lives destiny(goal) is not to make money,but to create a family,maybe a succesfull career and the most important thing to LIVE happily as long as you can!  I know women called Penny. They are named after a sub-unit of the pound and nobody thinks it's inappropriate. |

well that is why i store my really long term coins at my wallet.
but i also day trade. there are times when i want to sell then because of confirmation time someone dumped ahead of me
is trex more secure than bter? or maybe hacker will only steal btc and not other alt
Bter has been hacked and as far as I know Bittrex has not been hacked yet. Most of the time if an exchange gets hacked only the high value coins get stolen. If you are trading in low value shit coins they are unlikely to be stolen if an exchange is hacked. There are no guarantees though, when Cryptoine was hacked some shit coins were stolen along with the bitcoins. |

Yep! I can confirm that (as SGK wrote) you can register a domain without any real identification, therefore you are free to use any fake information.
Every one can register a domain with fake details, but it's not smart to do so, especially if you are planning to develop your site. People can send abuse reports to ICANN and the registrar itself. Which may cost you your domain. The site belongs to some one who is trying to gain attention or so. Why else would some one use Satoshi details in his whois. He gave satoshin08@gmx.com as his registrant email, when Satoshi's old email account that got hacked was satoshin@gmx.com. He's using that email address to get attention. |
