3441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding BTC at this satge is a bad idea? on: December 09, 2018, 01:12:09 PM
If holding bitcoin at this stage is bad, then when was it good? When it was 20K usd? C'mon man, in times when no one likes price, we can automatically say that it's great time to hold, at least in past it was always like that. Also price rise is what almost everyone wants in near future. Personally I wouldn't sell bitcoin at this time, have hope that it will rise, act the way you can imagine future.
3442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The key reason for gambling on: December 09, 2018, 12:23:52 PM
I realize this question was probably raised before, but I believe that the answers might be changing with time, because bitcointalk community grows and because the interests and needs of people can become different in years. I recall a video on addiction that explained that people mainly become addicted because of feeling sad and lonely. When I made a thread about whether gamblers think that gambling addiction has the same reason, the answers differed a lot. Now I am curious what kind of people are gambling here. Are they mainly looking for money, excitement, socialization? Please vote and leave a comment below in case you want to add something to your answer.
I don't know if you seriously ask this but there is no key reason to do this or that. You do what you need, always, you do because you get pleasure from it or expect to get it. From casinos, you'll hear one reason: Have Fun. But it's the least reason people gamble, usually they are looking for easy money. Imagine you have 100$, one roll and you have 200, this happened in one second, pretty easy money yeah? Some people in poor countries have to work for one month to get that wage, you did it in second but you can also lose it so quickly even on first attempt. But since therevis possibility of win, it attracts people, it's their main inspiration. On another hand some people socialize as you say, for example communicating in chat, some people feel well when they tip others and they chat: thanks, you are amazing and etc.
3443  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Amazon Releases Two Products for Blockchain Creation and Management on: December 09, 2018, 11:46:39 AM
That news was published on cointelegraph two weeks ago. Somehow I am surprised why blockchain didn't had enough attention even from the very begining, well yeah people didn't know bitcoin but I highly believe 3-4 years ago (if not more) major people in such famous businesses would knew BC technologies very well. Btw it's great BC has so much attention, it's an extra layer of protection and even government tries to integrate in a lot of services.
You took good and important examples, btw for enthusiasts in blockchain technologies, there are a lot of articles about it here: https://cointelegraph.com/tags/blockchain
3444  Other / Meta / Re: Percentage of Merit received on old posts, deleted posts, and average per post on: December 09, 2018, 11:12:41 AM
Loycev we know you are amazing lol, really appreciate you because you are very valuable member among others.
That statistics makes me to think that old posts/topics aren't popular or usually guests visit them from google and other search engines. Merits received before introduction it means that your post is old but gold. It's good you took satoshi's example too but I think he is merited because of his name, theymos - for being admin and also a lot of people tested merit on his merit introduction topic.
3445  Economy / Economics / Who thinks that current situation has to do something with mining? on: December 09, 2018, 10:52:01 AM
As you see guys, price falls and falls, that's very bad we all know and it's not something we want but it keeps falling.
This fall was also sudden and somehow very suprising not only for me but maybe for you too.
Do any of you think that it has something common with mining? As you see a lot of miners just gave up and left bitcoin mining, not only this...
Imagine following: There are giant miners like bitmain, bitfury and so on... What about if they want to create monopoly? Once for example 20% of miners will leave mining, they'll fill this 20% and more by new and improved equipment which they won't release for a while and make it almost nonsense for others to start mining with currently publicly available miners.
P.S Don't call me crazy...
3446  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GOOD MIXER/BLINDER? on: December 09, 2018, 10:22:29 AM
Here is the list of currently active mixers: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827109.0
Personally I can suggest you three one: Cryptomixer, bitblender and chipmixer. Since some people know main adresses of cryptomixer because they signed messages from adresses where they had 2000 bitcoin, I think they aren't great option for anonimity.
So bitblender and chipmixer are currently best and trusted mixers, believe me. Use only official links, check twice or more that you visit real one.
3447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you ready to see another Xmas crash for 2018? on: December 06, 2018, 10:37:27 PM
you are confusing a small correction during the rally of  the December 2017 with a "drop".

in fact every year when we get closer to holiday season, both Christmas and then the Chinese new year, people start speculating about a drop that never happens. sometimes we have a tiny drop which can be simple fluctuations and nothing else because nobody sells bitcoin because of holidays!
I would second this too... Old statistics doesn't means it will happen again in fiture without doubt, the negative atmosphere we create around bitcoin will cause fall. When we popularize and very often talk about winter crash and etc, other people think too oh, if it will fall, then I have to sell as soon as possible and this becomes massive. Let's try and make positive impact.
3448  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxes from the crypto industry will go to combat pollution. on: December 06, 2018, 09:37:01 PM
Every day our planet becomes more and more polluted by human activity. And what if the advanced blockchein technology is focused on pollution control. All governments and international financial institutions that are willing to accept cryptocurrency will tax all cryptoexchanges, ICO projects, and other areas that use cryptography. These taxes are used with blockhein in projects to clean and protect the environment. Share ideas. How can this be done?
I think that governments and financial institutions can try to tax everything which is in touch with cryptocurrencies, but I think that they can not control everything inside crypto ecosystem because of cryptocurrencies true nature which is unstoppable. How they gonna tax my BTC transaction if they do not know who is behind it.
Look whats happening in France about fuel taxes, something similar will happen when cryptocurrencies adoption comes to life and if they want to raise taxes above moderate heights.
Of course they will tax, why will they give you possibility to use alternative method and be tax free in some subjects. Also if you see, a lot of things were available in past but once they become abused, governments take control on it, same happens on bitcoin and on altcoins too, they see it's becoming popular, more and more people are moving on it, this isn't what government wants. If situation and users of bitcoib would be like it was in 2010, then government wouldn't care about it.
3449  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which Websites do you use to get your Trading news? on: December 06, 2018, 06:57:41 PM
I agree you at some point on how you look to trading and mention that Technical and fundamental analysis don't has much use for successful trading but at the same tine I want to say that luck plays a huge role too. Imagine coin could rise by thousand dollars in hours when there was no news which could affect it.
Personally for news purposes, I always use cointelegraph, they write very well and are my go to source.
3450  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▂▃▅▆█ BITSLER █▆▅▃▂3rd YEAR ANNIVERSARY 🎁$5000 WEEKLY FREEROLL W/ BITSLER COIN🎁 on: December 06, 2018, 11:14:09 AM
I have one question, since there is free weekly $3500 BTSLR challange, do you plan to make similar one for overally bitsler players? For those who play with bitcoin and altcoins.
The best thing to my mind will be if we are able to collect BTSLR coins from our wagering stats. I mean if I wageted 1000$ worth bitcoin, give me 1000 btslr coin as a gift or something like this, I think it's a good idea.
3451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there no marketing for BTC? on: December 06, 2018, 10:24:14 AM
Using crypto has a ton of benefits that the majority of the population aren't aware of because of its technological nature. Makes it seems much more complicated than it is.

You get to have control over your funds, transactions are cheap, and no one can know how much money you have (financial privacy), etc. Most people would understand these things.

Why isn't this being promoted? Why is there no crypto lobby?

For example, pharmaceuticals are complicated in nature, but there is so much advertising making their benefits understandable and it works extremely well lol.

Decentralization won't happen if people aren't aware.

Pharmaceuticals is business, when you made some med, you need to promote it to people to know them that it exists, does this and has these side effects. Bitcoin isn't a business, it's currency and I doubt you'll ever see promotion of usd or euro and etc. Also you'll hear about it pretty easily, I can't agree you that there is a lack of information in people, no, they have heared it many times but it's another task who got interested in it. If you just heared and don't care what it is, no one will come and sit to explain it. Bitcoin has it's users and it's enough.
3452  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BE IN THE KNOW WITH BTC🏁🚩 ACCELERATORS 🚩🏁 on: December 06, 2018, 09:50:29 AM
To be fair at the moment maybe no one uses transaction accelerstors because fees are so low... In current situation viabtc is absolutely unusable because I highly doubt anyone paid 0.0001 btc fee and has problem with confirmation.
OmegaStarScream
Btc.com fees are so high, it worths to resend transaction instead of confirming it. Btw haven't heared from someone that they used their service but they are legit of course.
3453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Will Hit New All-Time Highs in 2019: Quoine CEO on: December 05, 2018, 11:04:38 PM
Possible we can say that but to be fair from current situation it's not most likely that will happen. It's very hard to predict price in 2019 but to my mind we can proudly say that after this upcoming halving, bitcoin will really reach it's all-time high. But after all, coin which was able to jump from 10K to 14K in some hours, there is nothing impossible here, btw expect 60K in 2020 instead of 2019.
3454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is now consuming 1% of the world's electricity. Is that sustainable? on: December 05, 2018, 09:45:58 PM
We have also to consider that some percent of this energy is green energy. Bitcoin changed life of a lot of people, personally I think we can't blame miners because they consume so much energy. Some may come and say what the hell is bitcoin, why is electricity wasted in such a shit but they don't know economy well, have no imagination what is crypto, what is decentralized system and what is blockchain.
3455  Economy / Economics / Re: The market is looking healthy and greener all over again on: December 05, 2018, 09:13:02 PM
It's a little bit strange what's happening now, as I see everyone was upset because of such fall, then when price felt to 3600 usd, in one day it become more than 4000$. I thought it would be a push which would slowly return bitcoin to it's 6000$ line but somehow price still falls and plays between 3600-3900. Finally price will rise because I highly doubt giant miners will accept these terms for a long time, to my mind they need it currently to cut so hige difficulty.
3456  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance's partnership with Chainanalysis to detect "Dirty" Coins.. on: December 04, 2018, 11:20:23 PM
I wouldn't worry about it because it's a very silly idea and the more they try, the harder it will become for them in future. Also if we see some statistics, as far as I remember once bitmixer owner said that there was 1 million coin mixed in a year by using his website, there were and still are popular mixers too, so what do they want to tell us? They won't accept 9 coin from 10? Theybar every illogical + we have monero if they haven't heared about that.
3457  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What Do You Think About This? on: December 04, 2018, 09:35:18 PM
I would change template as soon as possible, it's very old and unattractive style, currently responsive templates are popular, you can find a lot of amazing templates on themeforest and they aren't expensive.

Petehumphreys
Wait, does it really matters for similar website to have an https adress? Are you joking? OP you don't need ssl certificate. On another hand user above me suggested you what to do, wish success.
3458  Other / Meta / Re: Why are FUD-trolls allowed to open 4 topics per day? on: December 04, 2018, 08:41:16 PM
I'm thinking about freightjoe for example: Why are FUD-trolls allowed to open 4 topics on a day, meanwhile spamming the same FUD in many other topics? Why is this allowed on Bitcointalk? I mean, if you don't like Audi, you don't go to an Audi forum and open 4 topics about how much you dislike it per day, right? Why is it allowed to do that here?

I can only think of a few reasons for doing this: someone is getting paid to do this (as part of a FUD campaign in the media from some "established parties" against crypto), or someone is trolling because he missed the boat and hopes to buy more cheaper, or just shorting Bitcoin. Whatever the reason is, I think it's toxic to this community.

Each of his topics quickly grows to a few pages because of the generic signature spammers, so his FUD gets all the exposure he needs.
So again, my question is: why is this allowed? I know this forum values freedom of speech, but can't his FUD be restricted to just one topic? Let it grow into a Spam Megathread instead of spamming several boards on a daily basis.
This man has a serious mental problems and needs to be treated as soon as possible. Just see his threads and you'll understand why...
I would second this: someone is getting paid to do this. Personally I wouldn't wish to limit this user to open threads but I think it will be better if we ban him and remove his account from this forum.
3459  Economy / Economics / Re: How will the crypto market respond to the latest bitcoin? on: December 04, 2018, 03:56:27 PM
Hello community. How will the market react to the fact that bitcoin mining is stopped and all BTC are mined? Share opinions.
Personally I have a lot of questions on what will happen when 21 million bitcoin will be mined, if the only question you have left without answer is that, then I am amazed. Also if we consider that some bitcoind are lost or will be lost in futurr. react may change time by time according to supply and demand.
Btw what will happen once all coin will be mined? Miners only profit will be fees collected from transaction confirmations, this leads me to believe price will be huge by that time.
3460  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How do BTC miners sell their BTC on: December 04, 2018, 02:31:52 PM
I represent a Swiss based Exchange which is having a Banking license to accept Fiat money in return for crypto ( passed all regulations ). One of the biggest problems we envision is the ability to source BTC to buyers. (Most of our buyers are institutional investors based out of Swiss).

Would like to know how currently miners sell their BTC and what is the Incentive for them to come onboard our exchange/OTC place like ours.
I know one small exchanger owned by bank which has contract with bitfury and exchange coins this way but also as far as I know you can be like a middleman and offer service to local customers through big exchangers. Big miners have contracts with others, some local companies offer special rate for those who have much btc. Small miners always use well known exchangers: binance, coinbase, xapo and etc.
