....we will be shown more targeted ads. I feel this shall completely violate our privacy, and I feel the only option is to delete those three apps and live happily.

This is not about targeted ads.

It's about world dominion.
3442  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Mark Zuckerberg wants no privacy on: March 25, 2019, 11:30:00 AM
According to a recent open letter on privacy, Mark Zuckerberg wants us to believehe can combine WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram platforms with “end-to-end” encryption to create the ultimate privacy-protecting platform.

thoughts? what does this mean for society?
He might be planning to combine everything and come up with a blockchain platform but for them to talk about privacy is just a joke when they were collecting user password and stored in plain text format, so that is how they go about user privacy and storing sensitive data. It means nothing for the society, people who are addicted to social media platforms, they will be using it even if it is insecure.

Security and privacy is based on your ability to give out information on a need to know basis.

There is only one point of view in which Zuck has a need to know your info.

In his own mind.

It is so ridulous seeing both sides blame the other for everything.  It is getting to the point where one side is against something simply because the other side is for it.  It’s a competition of who screams the loudest.
No it isn't.

Where are the Republicans acting like Democrats?
3444  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Help with serious porn addiction in society / especially incest porn on: March 25, 2019, 02:19:11 AM
... this is related to the "MILF" Genre which had a major boom in the early 2000's....

Disagree, I thought that was a simply a recognition of a lot of women with a couple kids were very attractive.

Which seems like a good thing not a bad thing.
I disagree with your disagreement, i'm pretty sure that when a younger guy is attracted to older women in a lot of cases it could be a sign of having an Oedipus complex at least that's what i think , i couldn't find any research on that topic though. And a lot of young guys like "MILFS" i included, but i don't really know why tbh.
It's definitely not just "a simpl[e] recognition [that] a lot of women with a couple kids were very attractive" imho , why would your subconscious procreation instinct prefer an older less likely to bear healthy children woman instead of a young one ? Pretty interesting topic all in all i think
.....

I won't disagree with this being possibly an unhealthy fixation in an individual male. However you are simply incorrect if asserting that a younger guy attracted to older women would be indicative of mental health issues, a priori. Consider, what is the issue? Is it an 18 attracted to 28? 18 to 38? 18 to 58? 38 to 48? Clearly for 18 to 28, the "older woman" could have 3 kids and be very attractive. Etc, etc.

My comment was more social and cultural. Here is a phrase. "MILF." How did it drift into language? How did it start to be used, and continue to be used? Is it a pejorative term? (I find the term sort of humorous somehow...)

While I addressed the use of the word and the understanding of it by most people, obviously it's a different matter for the rare individual afflicted with a sexual addiction.
3445  Other / Politics & Society / Trump issues Executive Order on Free Speech for Universities on: March 25, 2019, 02:13:37 AM
I thought people might want to discuss this. Some have attempted to describe Trump as Fascist. Clearly this does not look much like an act by a Fascist.

With his executive order on Free Speech, President Trump established himself as a true reformer, while his Democratic opponents have embraced revolution. Therefore, America faces a stark choice between reform or revolution in the 2020 elections....

Surrounded by college students in the White House, he declared: "These courageous Americans have stood up to the forces of political indoctrination...You refused to be silenced by powerful institutions and closed-minded critics, of which there are many. You faced down intimidation, pressure and abuse. You did it because you love your country and you believe in truth, justice, and freedom."

"But even as universities have received billions and billions of dollars from taxpayers, many have become increasingly hostile to free speech and to the First Amendment."

...President Trump confronted the academic establishment:

"Under the guise of 'speech codes' and 'safe spaces' and 'trigger warnings,' these universities have tried to restrict free thought, impose total conformity, and shut down the voices of great young Americans like those here today."

He threatened to cut federal funding unless reforms were made: "All of that changes starting right now. ...."

On the other hand, the Democratic Party has now openly embraced revolution, demanding votes for 16-year olds, abolition of the Electoral College, votes for non-citizens, the elimination of ICE, and most significantly, the so-called "Green New Deal" which would result in complete state control of the American economy.

3446  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mueller report sent to AG // UPDATE MAR 24 // Update **NO COLLUSION ** on: March 25, 2019, 01:51:24 AM
.....Flynn deserves a Pardon, as does Rodger Stone. Even though Manafort is not a good guy, the only reason he is being persecuted is because of his ties to Trump, and as such I think he should be pardoned too.

I agree. Like I said, Manafort's roughly average mindset for the DC crowd.

But he's not a traitor, or a Russian agent, and there was no collusion.

Nobody cares about his tax returns. Nobody.

Stone has came across as a straightforward and honest guy.

Flynn's entrapment is a disgrace. Nobody cared when it was drug dealers subject to those techniques. But they should care in this case.

Can the agencies be reformed? How many have to be fired? I am doubtful this could happen unless DC was broken up. Move the FBI to Kansas, the CIA to Texas. Move the EPA to Louisiana.

3447  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do we expect the Mueller Report to Contain? on: March 24, 2019, 09:24:48 PM
I think that it'll basically portray Trump as the center of a large group of shady people and criminals, but not actually have any hard evidence of crimes by Trump. The whole process was a clear witch hunt, so the report will probably on the whole be more beneficial to Democrats, though Republicans will probably also be able to say "Mueller cleared Trump!"

Can anyone point me to a billionaire that is not surrounded by shady people? Democrats are already laying the narrative for the next line of conspiracy theories, and this was the goal all along. Trial by media (which they control). Since everyone just repeats what they see on TV over and over again it is just "common knowledge" that Trump is corrupt now, even though there is no evidence of this whatsoever, but but muh Colbert told me so. The media have done a great job training the left to be perfectly content completely denying reality, as long as the fantasy fits with their preferred bias, and that unending denial of reality is going to lead to civil war.

You want to be surrounded by shady people? You don't need to be a billionaire. Just go to a bitcoin/cryptocoin conference.

The real question is what happens now? The media have been pushing their lies for years. The left has been deluding its people for years. And now there is no elephant in the room.

My preference would be for a fair and impartial Hillary investigation and trial. There are some others, too, who shouldn't just be let go.

Will the sham of the collusion charges be investigated?
3448  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mueller report sent to AG // UPDATE MAR 24 // Update **NO COLLUSION ** on: March 24, 2019, 09:23:20 PM
The letter makes the final report sound more positive toward Trump than I expected. I'll be interested to see the final report, especially the obstruction-of-justice part which seems less conclusive and which the AG's letter only briefly summarizes.

On the negative side, Mueller did snare a pretty routine, average member of the Washington District of Criminals, Manafort.

And he entrapped very unfairly, Flynn.

Those events stand as warnings to any who would think of going against the swamp.

It's a bit like asking the pedophiles to report on the children?
3450  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do we expect the Mueller Report to Contain? on: March 24, 2019, 03:17:48 PM
i dont care whats in it, it is very likely to be just a bunch of false flag strategic lies.

Of course you don't care what's in it because it doesn't fit your narrative.  The left can now play the "conspiracy" card to save face.  But Hilary being pardoned by the FBI (or should I say Obama's private Gestapo) for flagrant violations of the law...  No conspiracy there, move along, nothing to see, move along sheeple.

narrative? you want to say you want you believe stuff you want to believe because its in your interest?

you are basically just a bunch of paranoid idiots who think the russians are almighty and secretly rule the entire world and influence everything through their activities.

At least he can read. You, not so much.
'
Bah.

As this illustrates, the ability to read has never been a necessary part of political decision making.

The left rode the Mueller probe into taking the House.

It's all about power.

Should I post here the story of Whatsup creators again?
Don't understand why such naive questions are post out here on and on. There are so many really interesting topics that we could discuss.

Sure, post it again. Some things really should be repeated over and over.

Then they get totally boring. Like Facebook.

The Mueller probe started with the intention of determining if the Trump campaign colluded ....

No it did not.

That was the stated reason, the pretense. The minimum required to comply with the rules.

You would like to establish the fact that this was all a sham.

But it was never based on facts, but on manipulating emotions of the population.

3454  Other / Politics & Society / Re: SpaceX and the prospects of Mars colonization. on: March 24, 2019, 02:50:53 AM
^^^ There are logical people, and those not so logical. Why did Columbus and others come to America? They wanted to seek wealth, but they also wanted to find freedom. Mars freedom is going to be a difficult thing, but people like Musk have been "herded" by governments so much, that they want freedom.

Cool
So all these generated fantasies are to promote higher taxation levels?

Through Huge Government Programs we shall hope for Freedom?

3455  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Mark Zuckerberg wants no privacy on: March 23, 2019, 10:11:05 PM
Facebook is the biggest spy in the world and it has almost the details of every person in this world except new born babies but still they know that from others post.

SO it is not surprise that he never want us to be in privacy.

That's pretty much totally correct.

There's zero reason to believe anything they say.

Just look at their history of data leaks and losses.

Then look at the things they have told us that turned out to totally not be true.

It's pretty simple. Why in the world would you want to protect such a person?
3457  Other / Politics & Society / Re: SpaceX and the prospects of Mars colonization. on: March 23, 2019, 02:25:06 PM
From what i know the plan calls for robots to start working before any humans arrive. I'm not sure if they will go with domes or underground, if they go underground there could be the materials (and shielding) needed for habitat instead of blasting a mountain...

Perhaps this might require some sort of manned space station orbiting Mars itself, to speed up operations on the ground. So if a proper space station with artificial gravity can be built near Earth, such object could be moved to Mars. Well you could practice doing the same thing on the Moon first, where landing and taking off is much cheaper.

AI does exist, it might not have attained full sentience yet, but it is real. You should take a search online, several impressive projects exist.

There's no need for AI for any of this.

There's simply a need for extensive stockpiles of materials and functioning gardens.

But that all still begs the question.

What is all this FOR? What does it DO?

Well yes, exactly. He was removed when they learned, which is exacty that I'd like to see. I don't think its fair to paint President Trump (nor the rest of the administration) as Russian agents simply because of the fact that Manafort is in trouble due to work he did BEFORE the administration

People forget this part, and it's something I wanted to re-cement.

Not exactly. People are being hammered by the media continually and their thinking is based on facts presented. The fact that he was removed isn't one of the facts that people are provided.

"Manafort was Trump's campaign manager."

This is purposeful lying by omission.
