3481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 15, 2023, 10:34:47 PM
Knick game day finally here!  Been waiting all week.  What's everyone think of the knicks/cavs series.  I'm a knick fan so I see through different colored glasses but I think the knicks can pull this series out.  They on 3 out of 4 during the year and were an excellent road team.  I think if they can pull off 1 of the first 2 on clevland they got a good shot.  Took the odds on knicks to win the series.  Interested in peoes take on the series that aren't fans of either team?

Knicks all day long on this series. Knicks is very strong after the acquisition of Jalen Brunson. Besides Knicks beat Cavs 4 times in a row on their recent matches with the same roster.

The current odds is in favor with Cavs due to their standings on regular season and home court advantage but not based on previous match. I think this odds will start to shift in favor of Knicks once they get a game against Cavs. Brunson is a reliable player even when he is still on Mavs helping Luka to carry Mavs. He is now given the spotlight to perform all out and I think he can deliver on Knicks what he can’t on Mavs because of Luka.

I tend to agree with you but more because I’m not sure how the Cavs have been winning at all with their roster. Still, their first playoff appearance without LeBron on the team in ~25 years. Pretty crazy, they must be doing something right.

No surprises in the early games but I have a feeling these next 2 games today are going to be a little closer.
3482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 15, 2023, 07:20:18 PM
I was hoping the Nets would get a lead at some point so I could get decent odds on a parlay today, but it looks like the Philadelphia 76ers are going to lead this game pretty much start to finish. Pretty much what I was expecting as the Nets are heavily overmatched and likely wouldn’t have been in the playoffs if they traded away their stars sooner in the year.

I deleted my post, but decided to repost this "proper use of toilets" sign.

You’re telling me I’ve been doing it wrong the whole time? ...

Yes, they even sell warning stickers on amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/Bathroom-Stickers-Personalized-Pictures-Cabinets/dp/B09MKM1CJV

Obviously the sticker guy is doing it wrong. He should be facing the other way so he can use the toilet tank as a table to prepare meals or use a laptop. Also, where’s the toilet tank? In the wall? When installing toilets like this it’s important to install a shelf at least.

Bitcoin bouncing between $30K-$31K after the run it just had has me feeling like the rally isn’t over. Under normal circumstances I would have expected a large correction to wipe out leverage by now.

You’re telling me I’ve been doing it wrong the whole time? Why would they make a table on the back of the toilet if you aren’t supposed to face it? That’s how I use my laptop to post here. Where am I supposed to lay the laptop, on my legs? Ridiculous.

I am excited by how happy this little rise to $30K has made me. The feeling as we cross $100K is going to be epic.
3485  Economy / Speculation / Re: FTX recovered $7.3B in Assets and is considering restarting! on: April 15, 2023, 05:29:51 PM
^ It goes both ways though. Having those coins off the market likely stopped a further drop at the time of the events. Except with FTX it was a little different because it was outright fraud and they were using customer funds meant for BTC and directing them to shitcoins.

I still don’t understand how they could shitcoin pump their way out of this mess, but I’m certain the fraudsters behind FTX will try.
3486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 15, 2023, 04:39:21 PM
With only light betting during the week with the playin the playoffs are finally here.  Have to take a stab at all 4.

1) taking Philly at home -8.5
2) Hawks +9.5. Trey is a different dude in the playoffs between him and Murray they should be able to keep this close.
3) THEEEEE NY Knicks moneyline.  Yep Homer bet but I'm taking it.
4) and too much money coming in on the Warriors.  I'm taking the home team -1 kings.  Think GS takes the series but this will be a tough game.  Going against the grain.

Good luck everyone and enjoy!! Go KNICKS!!!

I wasn’t sure about the Knicks and the Knicks and Cavs but there’s no way I was going to bet against the Kings at home. I’ve spent too many years in Sacramento and I know that arena is going to be the hardest place the Warriors have to play in these playoffs. Everyone in that building is going to want to see the beam getting lit tonight.
3487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 15, 2023, 09:16:49 AM
For tomorrow morning’s games I like the Philadelphia 76ers over the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics over the Atlanta Hawks. I don’t think either of these picks should be too much of a surprise as they are the favorites, but they seem like pretty safe bets to me. Just a few hours away now from the official start of the NBA playoffs.
3488  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is on 30k how was your feelings ? on: April 15, 2023, 03:57:28 AM
The 24 hour low on the exchange I watch is now above $30K. I can’t believe how bullish this market is right now. Hardly even any corrections as it marches upward. It seems like the shorts have been defeated and the bulls are off and running. That always makes me feel like a quick big correction would do some good. It’s been a while since we’ve had a margin cleansing.
3489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 15, 2023, 03:55:01 AM
Congratulations to the Miami Heat for qualifying for the playoffs again. Butler took over the game and helped beat the Bulls. I hope Bam improves his game in the playoffs as he didn't perform well in the last two games. Fortunately, other players were able to step up.

Now, it's going to be Heat vs. Bucks. Can the Heat upset the number one team, or will the Bucks sweep the Heat? Which of the two is more likely to happen?

Bam brings a lot to the table in ways that don’t show up in the stats. Giannis is definitely going to have his hands full in the lane. Looks like the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to grab the last playoff spot from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Pretty much what I was expecting to go down tonight. Looking forward to watching the Kings vs Warriors game tomorrow.
3490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin tops $40,000 after Musk says Tesla could use it again on: April 14, 2023, 09:56:17 PM

The article was published back in June 2021.

It wouldn't be surprising for him to accept BTC again in the future but the Doge community will be upset if he doesn't continue trolling. It's strategic for him to do it. He has Tesla Stocks to manipulate and he also has Doge to play around with.

I was like, no he didn’t… Funny. Thanks for quickly pointing out that this isn’t a current article. I don’t think DOGE fans can be upset with him. He’s done a lot for them and his souvenir shop is one of the few places DOGE is accepted. I am curious when he’ll accept BTC for cars again. Really hoping I can pay for a Cybertruck with BTC.
3491  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of crypto casinos with high wagering requirements on: April 14, 2023, 06:17:38 PM
I’m a bit confused. You say that casinos have wagering requirements to withdraw a no-bonus deposit. Does that mean if you deposit your own funds that they will not let you withdraw until you’ve gambled a certain amount? I could understand if it was for some sort of deposit bonus, but otherwise it sounds like you lose the second you make a deposit.
3492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: April 14, 2023, 02:13:38 PM
I rarely ever play slots because it seems to be a game of chance where the odds are heavily not in your favor. I’m also not sure they can be trusted because I don’t verify that they’re being honest or that the games being played are probably fair. However, I did toss $0.10 into a slot machine and win $175 a few weeks back. I’ll admit it was fun seeing all the cool animations and such, but it felt like I was being lured into a trap. Maybe I’m just cynical.
3493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 14, 2023, 02:10:38 PM

Thanks, yeah, I'm thinking that +5.5 will be a good bet as the Bulls should carry their momentum against the Heat.

And we all know that the Heat is somewhat in bad shape mentally, and when teams have this kind of problems, their games suffered just like what happen in their last game. The line hasn't move that much, +5.5 is still 1.90 in my favorite sports bookies. They have at least 1 day rest so perhaps the energy will be there will team with they travel to South Beach.

Seems like everyone is betting on the Bulls, but I hope it's not a bad decision and that the Heat don't dominate tomorrow's game. Personally, I still trust the Bulls as they have proven they can win on the road, so let's be confident they'll have another win.

As for the total, is it too low? It's currently only 208.5. With good 3-point shooting, I think that can be achieved.

I don’t know about this one… I think the Heat have a real advantage over the Bulls when it comes to Bam Adebayo. I don’t think the Bulls can match up with him and I think it will be a problem. Not to mention that experience is on Miami’s side. I would actually bet Miami to win this game, but I haven’t followed their team drama so maybe I’m out of the loop.
3494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 14, 2023, 07:02:53 AM
$31K! This rally is going strong! Hard to believe there is so much buying going on right now. I wonder where a majority of the buying is coming from. I suspect a lot of it is retail buying outside the US or possibly investment funds who realize we’ve moved passed the bottom for this cycle. Feels a lot like we might be headed to $45K before this rally stops.
3495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my 20 questions to Satoshi Nakamoto! on: April 14, 2023, 03:38:12 AM
The biggest question I’d like to ask satoshi if how he feels about the core developers pushing their own L2 solution instead of building a system of merged mined chains to handle all sorts of different uses and make sure that Bitcoin miners continue receiving rewards beyond the ending of the block reward distribution. I wonder how long it will take for everyone to realize this was the proper way to scale BTC that satoshi was working towards.
3496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 14, 2023, 03:35:45 AM
there you go buddy... another ayh

30800

31k realll soon

Feeling like we’ll be hitting $31K tomorrow. It feels to me like the market has decided it’s time to rally into the halving. Sure, there’s some hurdles left still like mtgox distribution of funds and the US government dumping BTC, but I think the FOMO that people are about to experience will outweigh any amount of coins hitting the market. We might see some chop over the next year but I’m pretty sure we’ll be higher by the end of the year than we are now.
3497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 14, 2023, 12:51:40 AM
This is the last day without NBA basketball for a while. Tomorrow night we’ll find out the final playoff standings with the results of the play-in tournament. Then it’s everyday NBA playoffs for a while. Best time of the year. This weekend we should have an idea of how the first round is going to go and see which teams are able to take it up a notch.
3498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: April 14, 2023, 12:49:32 AM
I already put money on Jake Paul in a bet with a friend who seems to think Nate Diaz is going to be able to jump sports and compete. I personally never considered Nate a striker, so I think he’ll be covered in blood by the end of the night. MMA fight, Nate chokes him out in under a minute. Boxing though? My money is on Jake and it feels safe.
3499  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Twitter revenue sharing with content creators on: April 13, 2023, 11:11:43 PM
This is a pretty good move by the new Twitter management to monetize content creations in the platform will be a cool addition to content creators.

Content creation has been one of the few areas I want to dive into but has been finding it tough with YouTube nobs now that Twitter is offering it out afresh I will be glad to be among the first to take advantage especially now that I have tons of active followers on Twitter.

@OgNasty I kind of wonder if you offer mentorship service in content creation it looks like you have advanced knowledge on that please let me know to possibly enrol on your mentorship class.

The only content I create currently is with my drone and it’s been a while since I’ve done a new video. I’m a content creation newbie as far as anyone should be concerned, but thought it might be fun to give Elon a couple bucks and create some content for the platform to see how it goes compared with platforms like YouTube.

I would feel like a scammer offering a mentorship in this area because I am far from an expert. There are only a few areas I’d feel comfortable acting as a mentor and the only one I’d share publicly is that I feel I have knowledge on budgeting, investing, and managing your finances responsibly to be able to enjoy early retirement that would be beneficial to most people.

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1646564065853194241

Elon just tweeted that:
“For the next 12 months, Twitter will keep none of the money.

You will receive whatever money we receive, so that’s 70% for subscriptions on iOS & Android (they charge 30%) and ~92% on web (could be better, depending on payment processor).

After first year, iOS & Android fees drop to 15% and we will add a small amount on top of that, depending on volume.

We will also help promote your work. Our goal is to maximize creator prosperity.

At any point, you can leave our platform and take your work with you. Easy in, easy out.”

This is a pretty awesome move to get good content on the platform. Seemingly a direct shot at YouTube. Will you be offering subscriptions to your followers? You need to be 18+, tweet a lot, & have 500 followers… I’ve never really cared about follower count, but it would be cool to participate in this program and start making some cool content. Feel free to post your twitter handle if you are planning to create subscription content.
