I come here for bitcointalk.org NOT Twitter STOP IT Twitter might be one of the places where our friends look for ideas to share on bitcointalk.org, lol Oh yeah. $30,000 Bitcoin support price now. The current economic situation looks set to have a good effect on the Bitcoin price in April. $40,000 in my binoculars based on some statistics seems like a good match. What do you think?

I expect there to be some liquidations, when the Gox coins get released, probably Q3.
BTC will be sold by the trustee in order to to return fiat to the creditors (to those who chose to receive fiat instead of BTC)
Together with the feds silk road auctions this will create some selling pressure the market has to absorb on it's way up

I heard Elon is trying to sell Twitter. Wanna buy it?
Okay. I have a question. Is Taproot Upgrade is Smart Contract? How Taproot upgrade helped Bitcoin? I am puzzled after reading some articles. Maybe it is because I am not understanding how it works. One article said the Taproot upgrade enables verifying multiple signatures at once. Another article said it's a smart contract upgrade. How it's related to SegWit? Wasn't SegWit upgraded before the Taproot upgrade? SegWit departs the signatures data. The block already contains more data after the SegWit Upgrade. So, what Taproot did do? Internet data is not reliable these days. Google said Satoshi's Birthday is on April 5th. I was fooled. Arrrrrggggggg 😡

To contribute something a bit more on topic (sort of), "whale eater" loaded is going back to court tomorrow. A thread titled "@RogerVer lets make a deal. At least 60k, my BTU for your BTC." was necro-bumped with some interesting revelations that potentially explain why loaded backed out of the deal. It's a doozy in bitcoin history. The only article about this is at WSJ and that's behind a paywall (fuck you, Bezos!) I remember Loaded from back in the day, now I'm curious to find out wtf happened with him. https://archive.is/20230413024129/https://www.wsj.com/articles/bitcoin-blockchain-hacking-arrests-93a4cb29 edit: looks as though he started drinking Bud Light. Probably shed a few pounds and maybe a couple of other unmentionables.

Thanks for the links!
turns out Loaded made his fortune by double-clicking Silk Road's withdraw button a bunch. That's hilarious! He comes out looking like quite the loser in that article. Spent his wealth trying to buy people's affection until getting busted by making a stupid-ass basic mistake.
Also how come the Feds get to call dibs on his coins? He stole them from Silk Road, what do they care? It's not like it was a business they legally recognized. Bunch of bandits!
Overall fun story, 9/10 would recommend to a friend.

Try pasting the title of article into Google search. Worked for me (it was a slashdot link) I posted a link to it in my previous post. I'm sure it's not clear as I posted an image as well which likely serves to confuse so, HI-TEC99 posted a shorter URL shortly afterward - but then deleted his post. There are many helpful people in this thread... that's what makes it awesome.

The only article about this is at WSJ and that's behind a paywall (fuck you, Bezos!) I remember Loaded from back in the day, now I'm curious to find out wtf happened with him. I also remember Loaded from back in the days, posting in this thread. Him being arrested is kind of old news, but him getting sentenced is news to me. Here's a couple of articles of him getting busted -- not behind a paywall. https://www.wired.com/story/silk-road-bitcoin-seizure-james-zhong/https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/us-unmasks-hacker-who-stole-50-000-bitcoins-from-silk-road/I remember discussing this seizure a few years back. Here's the original post I think. Linking to a page that U.S. Justice Department seized ~69k BTC. My response to that was here, suspecting that the seizure was related to one of Ross' associates. Man, was I wrong. I wonder what sentence he'll get. Giving up 50k+ BTC should be enough though, damn.

I don't really get why tether is criticized, especially for use in developing countries and/or Asia. It has a place, especially since USDC temporarily de-pegged and lost almost 26% of it's monetary base. 72 to 43 was competitive, 81 to 32 is lopsided in tether's favor. USDC had a clout of being "official", but now it kind of dispelled to a degree.
