3481  Other / Meta / Re: Why some high rank still use copper membership? on: January 15, 2020, 04:38:05 AM
I don't remember exactly when I bought mine but I did it to support the forum, not for the added privileges.  I actually turned it off for some time because I thought it looked "tacky" with my lower rank.  That was probably after theymos implemented the 1 merit requirement for Jr. Member rank.  There was a rash of shit-posting newbies buying copper membership at the time so they could post photos.

Now that I've "grown up" I don't care if it looks tacky, and I'm not sure it does.  Some months ago I turned it back on because, I don't know, it has a bit flair to it?  No particular reason, really.  I know it creates a bit of snag for those who like to scrape the forum for data, sorry about that.
3482  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Doubt the possibility of a scam] BestChange Bounty and Signature Campaign. on: January 15, 2020, 03:36:38 AM
Meh,
I'm ambivalent about this particular drama.  Not using escrow is a "red flag," so I would expect some users to red-tag the account; that doesn't surprise me at all.  It's a decentralized trust system for a reason.  Some people are more concerned about some things than others, and that's why it's designed to work the way it does.

This particular business doesn't scare me the same way other non-escrow sig campaigns have in the past, so I personally don't feel the need tag the account.  But at the same time I don't see any reason to get worked up about others tagging the account.  It's just a tag, which should be taken for what it's worth no matter who left it, green, red, DT, or otherwise.  The other thing to keep in mind is that tags aren't permanent, they can be removed or replaced.  If the campaign doesn't pay you can rest assured I'll be there to red-tag them.  On the other hand, I doubt the current red-tags will remain once they pay the participants.

3483  Other / Off-topic / Re: You may win 1 (one!!!!) whole merit if you guess cryptohunter's new username on: January 14, 2020, 11:07:01 PM
cryptohunter is going to leave this forum:

We shall likely NOT return at all again after the next 2 days.
Obviously no one who has seen him troll the shit out of this place for the last 15 months or so believes that.

Assuming that he comes back with another sockpuppet account, what will it be? Guess the username and if you turn out to be right or close - I may award you one merit, at my discretion.

My guess is that it's going to be something cringy and boastful, like DebateCrusher.

[Gasp!] Are you insinuating that cryptohunter may be telling a fib?  He's not actually leaving, but merely moving on to a new account?

What are the odds he's taking a page out of QuickSeller's book and try to develop his own PrimeNumber7?  Could it be that he'll actually drop all the "inconvenient truths," "provable facts," and "observable instances" and be content to participate in the forum in a healthy and productive way?  Oh, one can only dream.

One of the things that obviously caused him much angst early last year was the fact that he lost his YuTü.Co.in job, and realized that with it went the potential to earn from other signature campaigns.  I doubt Bruno would give him a job with all the shit he's been spreading the last year.  Of course he'll deny this and continue to pretend he's wealthy and set to retire in Bali or some such place.  Maybe he's finally tired of being broke and continuing to dig himself deeper and deeper into the troll hole.

Anyway, if he does come back with another troll account my guess is that it'll be named "Inconvenient Truths, My Precious."

Don't tell TOAA about the super secret Mod/DT1/Merit Cycling section where we discuss all the fun ways to infuriate him, and hide all of his deleted posts and threads.

Oops, sorry I guess I didn't see the sign in time.

So, lenders earn 12% and borrowers pay 4.9?  How is it possible to charge borrowers less than you're paying lenders?  Where does the other 7.1% come from?

Bill O'Brien is receiving a lot of criticism for that play, and while people are right in their criticism I think he had a point, once you see what happened in the game it is understandable he wanted to go for it.

I agree, it was a tactical move that backfired, unfortunately.  If it had worked, the Texans would have kept the momentum on their side, kept the crowd quite, and we very well might have had a completely different outcome to that game.  One play going your way can indeed have such an affect.

All the Monday Morning Quarterbacking reminded me of the Super Bowl that Seattle lost to the Pats; Pete Carroll called a pass play on third (or was it fourth?) and goal from the 1 yard line, and it failed.  Every body jumped down his throat for calling a pass play in that situation, and gave him shit for months because of it.  Ironically Seattle was in the same situation yesterday, and did the same thing.  This time it worked, and no body is even mentioning it.
3488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can someone interpret this transaction id? on: January 13, 2020, 09:37:05 PM
HCP and DannyHamilton both answered before I could.  They are very likely correct in their assessment.

Check the address that received the 0.08423845 BTC, it's very likely your address.  Depending on the wallet software you're using you are using you should be able to search for the address, and confirm that it contains that amount.

But I wonder. Was wasn't the rest sent back to my wallet I sent from?

See here: https://www.blockchain.com/en/btc/tx/01d0147f25321b82067dddf1b5d939fb73aafffaacbd084fcbb29d6f2ee36514

Hmmm, that looks odd, the funds keep moving.  What type of wallet are using?

At your rank, if you don't have collateral you won't get a loan.

Many members feel it's justified to leave newbies who request non-collateralized loans a negative review.  You might want to lock this thread before that happens.
3490  Economy / Reputation / Re: @PrimeNumber7 is an alt account of @Quickseller on: January 13, 2020, 04:15:05 PM
You mean, like, account farmers who create quality posts and actually contribute to the forum? I call that a win!

I agree that contributing and creating quality posts are a win when looked at from that perspective.  However, I think most account farmers who are capable of contributing and creating quality posts aren't doing so for the sake of such, but they have ulterior motives.  Maybe it's my cynicism, but the question of motives does arise.

I'm not accusing QS of fattening up PN7 for a sale or a scam.  I think he's just putting in the effort to create an account that will earn him some income in signature bounties, and as I said before, that doesn't concern me.  I'm a firm believer in giving people second chances and if my hunch is correct that's what I think QS is trying to accomplish with PN7.

Until it's sold to a shitposter, but they shouldn't last long in a signature campaign, which makes them waste a very expensive good account.

I'm not presuming to know what QS' motivations are, but I don't think his goal is to sell this account, or use it for anything other than signature campaigns.  I only think that because I believe that would be the smart thing to do.

However, as Suchmoon has insinuated, that's not the only cause for concern.  I think it would be quite damaging to the DT system if we allow a known account farmer/seller who's been involved in a self-escrow deal to be included in the DT system.  Forgiveness is noble, forgetfulness is foolish.

Currently there are two members who've included PN7 in their trust list, including one potential DT1 member (who, ironically has QS excluded.)

Trust list for: PrimeNumber7 (Trust: neutral) (436 Merit earned) (Trust list) (BPIP) (created 2020-01-11_Sat_18.59h)

1. TECSHARE (Trust: +30 / =4 / -3) (DT1 (-4) 601 Merit earned) (Trust list) (BPIP)

3491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 13, 2020, 03:08:44 AM

Two folks voted for the Vikings, I voted for the 9ers (duh,) sorry if you guys had money on the line.  Should have known better by now.
One person took the Titans, no one took the Ravens, turned out to be the only upset of the weekend.
No one voted for the Chiefs to cover the spread, so they doubled it.
But four of you poor souls put your trust in the Seagulls?  FFS!

Now, don't let me stop you from underestimating the 9ers yet again.  I think they feed off of it.  Please by all means pick the Packers to cover the spread next week.  Best of luck to you, lol!   Tongue

3492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 13, 2020, 01:15:29 AM
The Packers are running away with this one.  Somehow I don't see Seattle recovering the way the Chiefs did this afternoon.  Seattle has been strong this year, but it's almost like they've been winning due to Wilson's shear will.  Out of the 11 games they've won this year only one has been decisive.  The rest came by a single possession.  They're net points for the 16 regular season games; only 7!  It was just a matter of time before they imploded, and it looks like it's happening on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field.

I know there's still a whole half to play, but I'm calling this one, boys.  Packers at 49ers next weekend, it's going to look like the playoff games of the 90's.  Except no Steve Young, Brett Favre, or Candle Stick Park.

When I saw this tweet by Joe Montana I couldn't help but laugh, but I think his prediction is starting to look like the most probable:

3493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 13, 2020, 12:45:04 AM
Liverpool won again and they can go to the beach in April but are they really deserving  this position?
~

Yes, they do.

I don't know if this just an NFL thing, but there's a saying; "defense wins championships."  LFC has scored a dozen fewer, but also allowed 11 fewer.  City can be hot and cold, winning matches by 5 goals like their last match or just playing insipidly like they did against Wolverhampton.  On the other hand LFC is playing a consistent and balanced game.  In the end if LFC had only scored 20 goals to date and allowed none, the results would be the same; wins and points wouldn't be any different.

And, really, who cares?  As long as City doesn't win the league I'll be happy.

3494  Economy / Reputation / Re: @PrimeNumber7 is an alt account of @Quickseller on: January 12, 2020, 11:35:30 PM
PN7 is Quickseller's alt.

OP is a dumbass and has no proof.

Unfortunately both of the above statements can be true at the same time. All this does now is discredit the accusation - exactly what Quickseller needs to continue his march into DT and into Chipmixer campaign.

Agreed, the OP is stirring shit as result of his butthurt for red-tags.  But I certainly hope no one adds PN7 to their trust inclusions.  So far I haven't seen PN7 try to do any trading or earn trust, so I hope that's not something we need to worry about.

If PN7 truly is QS (which I believe to be the case) and his goal is to rank-up and earn signature bounties, I really don't care, and wish him luck.  Considering that QS has a history of account farming and selling accounts this would be the least of our worries.  Also makes it seem like the PN7 account was an inevitability.  It was just a matter of time before the more intelligent account farmers figure out how to work within the merit system.

If PrimeNumber7 has posted a wallet address for their signature then follow the money.

This seems like a shot in the dark, I think he's smart enough to obfuscate any blockchain connections.  And is it really worth the effort?  The connection seems pretty darn obvious.
3495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 12, 2020, 09:13:03 PM
Damn, quite an upset there. I have to admit I barely paid attention to Tennessee all season. I used to root for them when Mariota was starting QB, as he is a Hawaii guy, but didn't watch a single game of theirs this season.

I like Mariota also, he was playing at UofO a few years before my daughter started studying there.  He is still a big deal at the school.

That was quite an upset, it was embarrassing to watch all those mistakes by Baltimore.  Not to take anything away from Tennessee, they played a great game, and took advantage of their opportunities.  But I think it's fair to say that the game wasn't so much won by Tennessee as much as it was lost by Baltimore.

SF wins no problem

 Cool

Edit : Wow, wasn't expecting Chiefs to be down by three touchdowns this early.

Crazy start.  Again, like Baltimore, the Chiefs look committed to beating themselves.  They just scored in that last drive.  Maybe they've gotten the butterflies out, and they'll make it a game.  Still plenty of football left, and it would be unwise to count them out.

Edit:
Holy Chiefs, Batman!  Three touchdowns in three and a half minutes, yeah, that's one way to make a game of it.  Shocked

A few days ago I became a father for a second time. Its a boy this time and...

Congratulations man!  It may seem hard to enjoy the lack of sleep phase, but do try to relish the small things.  It goes by so quickly.

From my own experience: the lack of sleep won't stop. Maybe when they move out of the house, so brace yourself! But most of all: congratulations!

At some point they keep you up because they aren't moving out to the house!  Roll Eyes

My four "babies" range from 18 to 25 years old.  The youngest has never moved out, the oldest came back last march, and another will be back when she graduates in May.

Lol, no similarities were insinuated.  I agree that many are probably unaware of their nominations.  Which isn't a bad thing per se.

I'll nominate SockyMcSockFace for gaining 10+ merit within a month as a newbie, such as raising the issue of BSV false flags. Kudos.
17 posts receiving 11 merit is a great start for any newbie on this forum, worth acknowledging in my opinion.

nominated retracted

Thanks for participating, but I agree with V8s, that's obviously a sock-puppet, and not even trying to hide the fact.

Leave it open for another week or so. Maybe some other nominations will come along. I kept nominations for my Troll Poll open for a month. Also, you may have gotten some more traffic by putting this thread in Meta.

Since I made the suggestion as it parallels the NFL's post season I've decided to keep nominations open until Super Bowl Sunday.  Meta board might have been a better place for this post as opposed to reputation.

Any objections to me moving it to Meta?
3498  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: January 12, 2020, 05:45:28 PM
Norwich lost to ManU, but I don't see how a Norwich win would have affected the table to keep Watford below the 17th position.

If Norwich had won would have 17 points and the next game would be against Boumemouth, something I believe Norwich can win and would have 20 points. and then play against tottenham that in my opinion Norwich has a 50% chance of winning the game. while Watford if lost today will still have the same 19 points, and next game will play against tottenham which in my opinion will be a very difficult game for Watford. then Watford will play with Aston Villa. if they win today and Aston villa lose today, Watford will be in a good position for the next games

I see, you're thinking way to far ahead for me to keep up, lol.  Anyway, it seems like the stars are aligned for Watford's escape.  I had the Aston Villa and City game on DVR, and started watching late, now I see City scored 3 goals in a matter of minutes, and they're already up by 4 before the half.

Watford has been looking strong the past few weeks, lets hope they can keep climbing up the table.
3499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 11, 2020, 11:57:25 PM
Liverpool now hold the record across the top five leagues in Europe for the best start to a season after 21 games... 61 points from a possible 63!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

After Leicester stumbled at home to Southampton, we're 16 points clear of Leicester (with a game in hand)... and 17 points clear of City! The commentator on the NBC stream I was watching used the word "juggernaut" to describe the Liverpool team after the game... He's not wrong! Wink

Hope Villa can muster up a draw (or better!) tomorrow... But realistically, City should stream roll them Undecided

NBC provides Premier League coverage here in the States, so I think I was watching the same broadcast.  I liked it when the broadcaster called them a juggernaut, it's quite true.

Congrats to LFC for the hard-fought victory today and breaking the record.  It's been quite an impressive season for them.  Wouldn't be something to see them go the whole season without a defeat?
3500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 11, 2020, 11:29:35 PM
Something tells me that we'll see the 49ers and Packers face off in the NFC Championship game, there was an interview with Rogers not long ago where they asked him about beating the 49ers at Levi's stadium and he said something like we'll have to beat them sometime so could it be coming? After my Saints SB pick lost I have a bet on the Chiefs and Packers to win the SB. I do like the Ravens tonight but I am liking the Titans to cover the +10 so I have taken that as my play for tonight.

I predict all the home teams will move on this weekend.  I don't know what the statistics say, but a home game after a week off makes such a big difference.  Most of the teams that had last weekend off are healthy and will be playing strong.  The difference between the 9er's and Viking's running game is a prime example of how much a week off can help.

Watch the Vikings defense, as the game wears on.  They are already showing how tired they are, and the Niners aren't making things easy for them.  The 9ers are going to keep running it down the Viking's through, and dominate the time of possession.

For those of you who gamble, I hope you placed a bet on the 9ers to cover the spread.  It looks like I'm the only one who voted for them to do so in this week's poll.
