3481  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Data I'm exposing when using other server on Electrum on: March 18, 2021, 10:44:57 AM
Plenty of information can be known about you without knowing your IP address. For example, they know where all your coins come from and where they go, so they can simply ask someone that you have transacted with who you are.
Yeah, I know that part but using the TOR is at-least the first step of keeping the location anonymous. It matters for me.

Quote
I run a bitcoin node and an electrum server on a Raspberry Pi, along with a Lightning node and other things (read this: https://stadicus.github.io/RaspiBolt/).
Thanks for this.
3482  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Data I'm exposing when using other server on Electrum on: March 17, 2021, 05:52:20 PM
As far as I know the person running the node will know your IP address and what addresses are in your wallet.
They know your IP since you are connecting to their server and know your addresses since you are asking that server for balance info.

Any light wallet connecting to a server will more or less leak that same info.

-Dave
Using TOR connection will break the link very easily, and it's easy to connect tor. In my case I have TOR active, so my Electrum do not connect if I open it without running my tor.
3483  Economy / Services / Re: Vossbot Bitcoin Escrow on: March 17, 2021, 05:45:21 PM
I don't see why the two "trusted" forum members would be willing to participate in this setup. If the OP turns out to be a scammer, their reputations would suffer, and they will have to perform work for less money than if they were offering escrow services on their own.
Maybe money (service fees) will motivate them or there will be no reason for anyone to volunteer for some business.

I have anther idea - maybe m4acker can escrow a large amount of money (x) to a trusted escrow on the forum. His website will have a program which will show live statistics of how much money the site is escrowing (y). There will be a cap for y, and always it will be y< x

Website users will have a tool to verify the total amount too (not sure how it will be done). If something unexpected happens from the OPs side then forum escrow will pay the clients.

I don't know maybe it sounds complex but at-least this could help in this situation and OP will not need to reprogram his site.
3484  Economy / Reputation / Re: Freebitco.in openly posting user data on: March 16, 2021, 04:52:41 PM
Let's not make it a big issue. I am sure TheQuin will read the responses and will reconsider the tag they left. Sorry I missed the tag (your part) on my last post. The tag do not seem valid to me too.
3485  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Questions regarding signature campaigns/managers on: March 16, 2021, 02:07:33 PM
There are no set of rules to be exact. It all depends on you and the manager you will work with.
3486  Economy / Reputation / Re: Freebitco.in openly posting user data on: March 16, 2021, 01:59:49 PM
They are not even people. They are email addresses, fingerprints and VPN IP addresses used by a bot. The information is in no way personal
Still this is not good practice imo to put any kind of email address or IP in public. I would recommend removing those data. The type of action will create mess to individual users.

I deliberately did not disclose the individual's real email or IP used on their master referrer account.
We don't know, the users in the public web do not know because they do not have available tools to verify such things.

When it is introduced everyone using the service will have to explicitly accept that if they are caught cheating they can be publically identified by us.
What if it was not an intentional bad doing from the users. How are you going to ensure it 100%. No company publish sensitive data publically, and you need to ensure that it does not conflict with the law.

On a side note: I would not like such things. Indirectly you are threatening your users holding their online fingerprints.
3487  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitcasino is attempting to scam me! on: March 16, 2021, 01:37:40 PM
Can I know why? And how come? I already did the KYC process what was the point of that?
If that random site is coming from their official customer service page or bitcasino site alone then I do not see any reason not to submit the docs. Yeah, it sucks to send the documents twice but since they are asking then why not just co-operate them. I am pretty sure this will end well.
3488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Joining OPEN] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: March 16, 2021, 01:33:35 PM
If everything goes as per the plan, then I will be joining the pool as soon as I receive my signature campaign rewards. But there is some uncertainty now, because today once again one of the government officials was talking about the blanket ban on cryptocurrency. If a ban is imposed, then it will be very difficult to participate in pools such as this one. Here in India, things are getting tougher for the cryptocurrency users with every passing day.
I hope they do not know your real identity.

What is wrong in India. I guess I have seen a positive news few weeks ago about making crypto legal. Was that fake news? Sorry I lost the reference post.
3489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT on Nano Ledger S on: March 16, 2021, 01:28:59 PM
Did usdt always run on multiple chains?  So years ago, it was only the on ETH chain?
There used to be only ETH chain if I am not wrong.

ETH chain is now expensive so avoid receiving using ETH chain. Tron chin is cheaper. You will need TRC10 or TRC20 address. Check with the gambling site which chain they have.

Quote
Is it ETH or TRON?
With your ledger you can have both. For ETH chain you will need ETH app to be installed and for Tron network you will need to have Tron installed.

Don't cross use any network. Like never send ETH chain USDT to TRON chain USDT or vice versa. There are nothing to make it complicated.
3490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ETH transaction fee! on: March 15, 2021, 08:04:20 AM
ETH transaction fees:

Seriously!

I have more than 15 tokens and a lot of them are not worth even $50. Some of them have over $500 USD value. Now, I understand why CZ once talked about ETH being rich men's network LOL

PS: I am not even bothered to send some ETH from another address to this address and move those tokens to an exchange.
3491  Economy / Services / Re: Vossbot Bitcoin Escrow on: March 15, 2021, 07:38:08 AM
A 2-of-3 multisig escrow address with a hypothetical malicious escrow agent could conspire with one of the parties of the transaction to steal the coin in the escrow address.

I am not saying the OP is acting maliciously, however, based on his current reputation, it would be difficult for an experienced forum member to use the OP as an escrow agent.
Here is my idea -
OP can have two trusted user from this forum. Both these users will hold a key each and OP will have another key. If this is a 2/3 MultiSig then OP can not move the fund without another signature from one of these two users. For every transaction he needs one of them.

Obviously OP and other two users will need to be public (not necessarily to have their personal information in public) about their involvement in the project, and they will negotiate how much they want from the business.

I'll look into this multisig idea for reputation, i wanted to be personally involved in transactions as little as possible (because I need to work!) but will research the idea.
Without having enough trading history and good volume of the trade amount, I do not think anyone will entrust you as an escrow. In fact, you may even receive negative feedback as warning from the members of the community if you attempt to do such a deal without showing enough credibility.

Edit:

hypothetical malicious escrow agent

I see your point now. It's possible of course. Maybe not a 2/3 but another format which is safer enough?
3492  Economy / Services / Re: Vossbot Bitcoin Escrow on: March 14, 2021, 06:38:52 PM
I
Why would anyone trust you with their money?

I suggest having a x/y multisig wallet and get few users from the forum on board with you. So to release a tx you will need more than one signature and the risk is less for the buyers and sellers.
3493  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 Betnomi.com - Crypto Centric 🏀Sportsbook and 🎲Casino - 🔥Biggest Jackpots on: March 14, 2021, 06:23:11 AM
This site is SCAM.
They do not pay out.
Regards,
The trusted trust rating says it all about you? There is a line of making mistakes. When you work is intentional, and you are doing the same thing again and again - it's not a mistake.

Your argument is why not anyone tag Betnomi because they posted a KYC info or something (I can not remember the full event it's been a long time). As far as I recall that did not strike me as a crime but an unknown mistake. But in the case of Adkinsbet - it was not the same.

Anyway, arguing with you lot is a waste of time. So, you are good to spam with anything you want. I am pretty sure anyone with right mind will not care about what garbage you say.
3494  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Indymoney - loan default on: March 14, 2021, 05:59:23 AM
Anyway, does indy money has repaid some of the loan to Royse777 or he is still doesn't pay anything? I've seen him online on this forum recently
He has not pay back any dime yet. And since we are this far - I do not think he will ever repay anything.
3495  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Help: I Think a Mixer Scammed Me on: March 13, 2021, 04:57:24 PM
I was able to locate the accusation topic against MyCryptoMixer by other user. Please be advised that without any proof nothing will be taken serious. There are users whose moral are too low that they always want to others business.

3497  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Study Purposes] How can we build our own ecosystem? on: March 13, 2021, 01:09:04 PM
I do not have much idea but you can start from:

On a side note: If you know one programming language then it should not be hard to handle other languages.
3498  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Help: I Think a Mixer Scammed Me on: March 13, 2021, 12:48:35 PM
What a coincidence, another person that was allegedly scammed by MyCryptoMixer for the exactly same amount  as another user reported few weeks ago.
Can you post the link of that topic? Never mind. Found it [edited]

photonfarm, I think they give a letter of guarantee - do you have it? Without giving legitimate evidence your claim will not be considered serious. There are a lot of people who wastes other users time.
3499  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Bitcoin will hit $60,000 today, what's next? on: March 13, 2021, 12:44:16 PM
$100k should be easy to hit provided bitcoin remains bullish, I think $100k could be achieved by the first half of this year.
We do not know for sure.

It took long days to break $60k and now since it already suppressed $60k it seems $100k is just a matter of time. When BTC was below $10k it looked like a luxury desire to think of BTC at $100k.

It's been long 10 years since institutions had their faith in BTC investment and since they are already in I think the support for BTC will be strong for anything under $30k. Some people are waiting to buy back the BTC they sold.
3500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Joining OPEN] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: March 13, 2021, 12:32:59 PM
Wasn't the entry fee $20 for the upcoming tournament based on what you decided in the entry fee thread? 0.0005 BTC is closer to $30 currently while 0.12 LTC is closer to $25 which is confusing.

Instead of BTC or LTC, it would be better to post the entry fee in dollar terms. Participants would send the equivalent amount of BTC or LTC after conversion which would help resolve this confusion.
Sorry, it was the typo. I meant 0.0004 BTC not 0.0005 BTC which has been corrected now.

About USD equivalent price - it' very hard to track the exact price. Yesterday BTC price was $56k or something, today it's over $60k, maybe tomorrow it will be $70k or under $50k. BTC price is not stable, and it's hard to tell when it will be stable too. If we ask users to pay the equivalent of USD when they are paying - we will see different amounts of money in BTC or LTC they have paid. So this was the reason of not asking in USD equivalent.

About LTC - when I calculated it was a few dollars more than BTC as I wanted to discourage LTC payment.
