3481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provably verified in online Poker! Is it possible? on: October 21, 2017, 07:45:33 PM
It's not even called a solution if you are going to make 100% transparency when playing online poker. I guess there's no use and it's not even an innovative idea. The idea of playing poker will be useless and for sure many will forget this game online if all the cards are transparent to each other, everyone will be folding their cards and will just quit the game later on because there's no use of playing it.

I don't think you know how provably fair systems works. (sorry if Im wrong)

The thing is you dont need to show cards to each other. All you need is to make sure "the cards order was given at game start and has not changed during the game".
This can be achieved by using "hash functions".

IMO by transparent he means: to be verifiable

Sorry but you are misunderstanding what I said, what he says is different and his terms aren't appropriate and if he means about verifiable then that should be and it shouldn't be transparent. I understand on what you have said about the cards should be given in order and will be constant, no change at all. This is good and this can secure every sit players that there's no suspicious thing that's happening.

OK, I re-read the OP and see he used both "transparent" and "verifiable" words in his post.
So you were correct. My apologies for accusation.

@OP Transparent poker game makes no sense. I can only assume you have used inappropriate wording.
Been wondering if this is also actually true, i have heard it actually few times before but never actually been and saw it. I don' t know if this has a point but he means transparent? So i guess maybe it does exist in live poker but not actually in some p2p poker, it sounds like there is also no point on having transparency and could only lose players rather than attracting it, it sounds like actually cheating for me, correct me if i were wrong.
@Bittfort no, it's fine mate we're here to discuss things about like this.
@Yadstiker, transparency it's not literally a cheating for me but when you are one of the players it's a disadvantage right? You can see the cards of your opponents and your opponents knows your cards too. It's unfair and maybe there is something that OP wants to declare but he can't express it properly.

We all can lose in gambling  and lose our money but shall we stop or try to win back what we lost ?

This is hard decision that every gambler can do, just like the post of iluvbitcoins ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2285020.0 ) I can't give him a suggestion if he will pursue his money to get back and he will try again or he will just simply stop. It all depends to the will power of the gambler because not all the time luck is there, sometimes we are strong and sometimes we are weak and scared.

It is always a huge impulse that is usually hard to control and it takes a whole level of discipline to be able to. I followed the story of iluvbitcoins but I just could not make any comment knowing the ball is just in his hands and no matter what anyone says, that is what he would have done afterall. Unfortunaly, he ended up loosing twice and that is just what gambling does. A way of trapping your mind inhibiting you from accepting your losses and then you trying to see if your luck is good enough to save you from a huge disaster ahead.

True, a big level of discipline is a must on these type of situations. Because if you will not take time to think about this, you are actually taking the real gamble between yourself and your money. And with the story of iluvbitcoins, that streak is totally a big one and there are even more gamblers that has almost the same experience and even has more loss. That's why I said, I can't give a suggestion about it.
Yeah that is better option to say we can’t give any solid advice for this. And it really happens, people here are so keenly waiting for some good advises but actually the reality is so different. All wise persons here will definitely don’t utter any good words for this game. And so I am, gambling is just the wastage of your time and money. Forget about it as a good source of money.

The decision is on their hands, they can listen to the advices of different gamblers because we have our own understanding and tips for them. But in the end, they are the ones that should give their own decision if they want to return as soon as possible and win all of their losses. I have a lot of experience on this thing and it's really disgusting to think of it again and again, it's very risky.

I just read it on social media is that true that Derrick Rose is now injured? I haven't watched any match as of now and there are some other new players that are also injured. I don't know if people are just making fake news or this is a real one, can someone confirm it if that's true?

Yes it's true and this news will confirm it http://sportsillustrated.com.ph/US/nba/2017/10/20/derrick-rose-injury-news-update-cavaliers and also this mate confirms it
As expected D.Rose is suffering injury again. Feel sorry to this guy, his talent was ruined by injuries. Seems D.rose has the most record of injury. Like every season he is getting injured and just sitting on his bench. A bit unlucky.

I don't think these injuries isn't just an accident because it's consecutively happening for each match, though it's normal for each match that there will be some injuries during matches but it's quite odd.

I can't stop myself of checking the price everyday. I used to this practice, I don't know why. Maybe it's because we always love to monitor the price of bitcoin and this happens when you are already attached to bitcoin. And it's for sure that everyone is into price checking so it's just a normal practice today if we are keep on checking the price of bitcoin everyday.

Hi guys,
I have a serious question about the process of randomization in card shuffling in online poker.
Is there any solution for it to make it 100% transparent and verifiable and simple at the same time as well? Please share any innovative idea if you have any.

3489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your reason to gamble? Fun or profit? on: October 19, 2017, 01:06:09 PM
I started gambling for fun but as I got addicted to it and have found some methods to win , it turned out to be for profit now. Though I have never invested on it from my own pocket. I use the money I have won.

I guess all of us started to gamble by treating it as a fun thing to do. But as we gamble the more times that is becoming deep and each and everyone of us are starting to sense that gambling can be a good profiting tool and source of income. I'm stuck to that mindset because I use to gamble before the same as you but right now everything has change and I think that it's better to treat it as for profit.
When we start winning and we satisfied with the money we get we begin to think different, we believe it's possible to make money and we can have it instantly in gambling. It's possible that we can get instant money in gambling but the process itself is not instant because although there are people who are making a living in gambling they do not have it as an overnight success, they word hard and continuously improve their skills until they reach that level.

This is happening all the time when we just experience a small amount of winning we tend to keep on thinking that gambling is a good way of profit. But that's me today, I know that I can have some good other source of profit through gambling though I know the risk that I'm taking and it can even go worst if I'm not going to stop but I use to this type of living and apparently no one can stop me.
3490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you set up limits for yourself? on: October 19, 2017, 11:19:19 AM

It is a good strategy to set a stop loss. If you keep on gambling and chasing lost bets/money, your losses would compound.

It's a good way to control yourself if you don't want to loss a lot. And out of it also you can have the minimal loss that you can take so if you are a gambler that is setting up limit to yourself when you gamble then you are doing it in the right way. Because there are some gamblers that doesn't know how to set up limit and in the end they are losing a lot of money as they gamble.

You are right. Just set a small amount or limit so that if you lose, you can easily earn that again. At least you can still play and at the same time you control it. Nobody prevents us to gamble it's just that we have to be sure that all of our money will not be invested from gambling so that these money will grow on other ways. Just let yourself play for the purpose of fun not for winning instant because sometimes we can lose and some other time we can also win from it. Play wiser and limit it as long as you can still replace it easily when you lose. There was this quote when you enter a gambling place "play for fun and losing is not playing a large amount of money at the second time to get your loss back". Smiley
That is the best characteristec of a good gambler.Set up your life upon limitations.Do not let your life drown for addiction  in gambling. Make fun of it as a recreational purposes.Always think that everything that is too much is dangerous.
We can tell that easily because we are not in the situation of addicted gamblers. There are gamblers that are facing their problem very hard and even how good they are in setting up a limit still they can't help themselves because they keep on dragging themselves into a bad situation. It's a serious problem but if they are willing and will pursue to set up a limit for them to minimize their losses, they can do it.
3491  Economy / Speculation / Re: This family bet it all on Bitcoin on: October 19, 2017, 11:01:12 AM
I can say that they are dare to take the risk as investor. So far bitcoin show a promising progress and they become absolute millionaire on 2020.
But for me personally, It's too good to be true but if they still keep most of their bitcoin, Congrats for them to achieve that !
Yes they surely dared to take the risk and only few investors can do this. Even the rich investors will not do this, they are making sure of they have something for their safety if ever one of their investments will collapse. But taking a full blast of your money into a single basket is very a risky thing. Like everyone is saying here that we should not put all of our eggs in one basket but this family did it.
3492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should I try to win back my loss? on: October 19, 2017, 10:30:07 AM
After losing 16 times consecutively, there will be a chance that you can win one time. Sorry mate but I can't decide for you since it is your money that you will be gambling and if we'll push you through to gamble and later on you lose the blame will be point to us. But if your conscience will tell you that you have to recover your losses, control your mind. Whatever will be your decision mate, good luck.
3493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting Recomendation on: October 19, 2017, 10:08:57 AM
Thanks for all your replies. I will give a try to WBet7 with small amount. Otherwise I'll just have to reorganize my portfolio to allow for BTC betting.

And once you are done, tell us your experience there if they are quite good or some place that we can consider for ETH sports betting. If you will be failing there for sure you'll just have to get back and organize yourself and still stay with bitcoin betting. Still wishing you a good luck with it, don't forget to get back on this thread.

I was eating by the time Hayward broke his leg. I just realized how bad it is when the replay showed it, then I lost my appetite,

You know what? I've been watching the replay too, I raped the replay button and I'm the one that feels more than what he's feeling bad now. Thinking about it that the injury incident happened during the first quarter, that was a real bad luck for him. While the announcers keep on saying, "he was broken his leg" and I'm seeing his leg, damn I really can't take it. This can cause him not to play for the whole season.
3495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why trading is better than gambling? on: October 19, 2017, 09:32:13 AM
I wonder how the author sees no difference between trading and gambling?! Now there is the Internet, which you can find a lot of useful information and draw conclusions!

He wants to get the suggestion of each gambler and traders. Trading and gambling do have a lot of difference but they also have similarities and base on we are portraying it, we are understanding it differently. We do have our own assumptions and opinions on these two things. Trading is better for the traders and gambling is better for the gamblers, simple as that no more debate.
3496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: can gambling give you lessons in life? on: October 18, 2017, 07:20:25 AM
2 lessons even
1. Gambling works and people always gonna fall for that. Its in human nature to be irrational against all evidence. I agree with Dostoevskiy on that.

In every aspects of life there is failure and in gambling, bigger chance that we can fall but if you'll not going to give up and you've got tons of money as your capital it's unpredictable that you can fall.

2. If you want to do gambling, be on the right side. Casino side. Its a same game, same rules. With one difference - you are winning.

Being with the house is the best thing and you can this through investing through their bankroll which is beneficial for you and for the house too.
3497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: the future of gambling on: October 18, 2017, 07:10:24 AM
There wouldn't be an extinction towards fiat currency because that's the main money like you trade it with that. It would take some time to have that. It's not easy but it's just the start. You can never be sure on your predictions. If you plan to invest a lot in cryptocurrency, go just know the risks. Gambling is definitely riskier.

I doubt it that there will be an extinction of fiat in terms of usage in gambling. There will be upgrade in the gambling experience but there will be no removal of fiat currency in the gambling scene. Old style casino's are still kicking in different parts of the world and I doubt it that all of the gamblers are in favor of digital gambling because it's even more anonymous to gamble physically.

Yeah, it's the main attraction like, that's how you measure someones wealth or something. If you think that would happen, it's definitely not. That's what I posted about. I think addicted gamblers wouldn't even want to know how the cryptocurrencies can change the way they gamble because they are already masters of what they do in fiat probably.

I really don't think that there will be the time that fiat money gambling will be extinct. There will be the big time gamblers that will stay to it and will never exchange it. Gambling with cryptocurrencies can change their gambling experience. Technology is innovating every industry and gambling can't be an exemption to it but the fact that we need cash and also in this industry it will never change.
3498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting Recomendation on: October 18, 2017, 06:43:38 AM
WBet7 is a sportsbook that accepts ethereum but I cant say that they're reliable because I don't use ethereum when I gamble. They also seem to have no kyc when registering they only require your email. If you want to risk your eth with them I suggest to use a small amount first before going in the whole way.

That's the first time I have read that wbet7.com still better to stick with some casino that are reliable and has been running for years. But it's not that bad to give it a try and definitely a small amount of ETH is good. I checked the casino and they are only accepting perfect money and ETH so they are not into bitcoin. Anyway they are covering a lot of sports and as well as local matches too.
3499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What did you buy for money won? on: October 18, 2017, 06:34:32 AM
Although i have lost alot of money in gambling but i remember one time i won around 3 btc from dust and I cashed out the money and bought a phone for myself and gift for my relatives. That was good experience for me at that time.

Wow! That's great I never imagine that there will be the time that I'll win 1 bitcoin or even more than that. Lucky people like you are really hitting it, how much the value of bitcoin by that time? I'm craving to build my own high amount winning but still it's not yet coming to me. I have won some and what I did is to invest it through my stomach, yes I did bought food and treated my parents on it and that's special to me already though I didn't won big.
3500  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reaching $10,000 worth is possible this year. on: October 18, 2017, 06:24:43 AM
Base on the current upward trend of bitcoin in recent time don't you think it is possible that bitcoin value will reach $10,000 in the nearest future? As for me I'm optimistic that bitcoin will reach $10,000 before end of December, 2017. And I believe that the sailing will start by November after Sewig2x. Do you agree with me?

The price falling again so this is just a normal price movement of bitcoin after the price went up high and was close to $6,000 but it wasn't able to break the wall. The decrease was quick, it was now at $5,379 so expect that we can reach up to $5,000 and even go lower at $4,000. And if this happens every trader will take the chance to buy a lot of it at dip and this will fuel again the price of bitcoin before the hard fork.
